The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

She was indeed glad she brought him along. The goblins were annoying but the ogre boss was an absolute brute! Kitra popped her shield cool down on Dante's barbarian and hit the ogre with her new ability she had gotten when she leveled up. Her fire-ice lance hit the ogre boss hard, nearly taking half of its hit points away.
And Kitra had to make her mage run to the back of the room as the ogre starting chasing her! " Great, I pulled aggro with me l33t dps. " She grimaced and shot fireballs at the boss as she kept running. Soon the bastard was down and the game put them both back at full health and mana and dropped new weapons and gear for them both. It also gave them a three minute timer before the next underground level started.
Kitra turned, grinning at Dante. " I sure as hell hope you're having fun. We may get our asses kicked in the next level.". She was having a great deal of fun. She had nearly forgotten she was on a date date and not a date with a friend.

Fishy
Dante's barbarian had taken a hit, but when the ogre went after the mage, the Barbarian was hot on its heels, hacking and slashing away; trying his best to protect his date. Even if it was just a videogame, getting your date killed didn't get you laid. They finally managed to hack away at the boss's last bit of health, and they were back to full health and mana.
"Oh, I am. It's been a long time since I got to do this, especially with someone. But damn if I didn't forget how brutal these ****ing games were back in the day. Kids these days are so spoiled." He gave a chuckle at his joke as he looked at her. This really was a hell of a time.
He'd started to say something else, but three minutes went by pretty damn quick. Level three was riddled with kobolds; miniature, bipedal dragons. Slower than the goblins and about as weak at close range, but they had a range attack that was pretty nasty. However, Dante's barbarian took less damage from elemental attacks thanks to his last level up. But that didn't make them any less of a pain in the ass. That, they actually managed to make it through easier than the last level.
But then, they reached a room decked out in wall to wall gold, then the giant dragon reared its ugly blue head. Literally. Just the head was visible, and took up the other half of the screen, alternating between, biting, clawing, and using a nasty barrage of lightning.
"Well s***..." Dante grumbled as he struggled to crack a dent in the dragon's HP, but with every hit the red bar barely moved.[/color]"
Well the level itself was easy enough. The boss however, not so much. A fricking huge dragon with a hit bar that just refused to go down. " What in the blazes?" Kitra exclaimed. She was irked, pissed by a game. She hadn't gotten pissed at a game in a long time. In retrospect, it was funny. What was not funny was the string of vibrant curses that escaped her mouth in a flow that was almost not understandable.
Kitra was dodging the dragon boss's hits as much as possible and was shielding Dante's barbarian as much as possible. About 5 minutes in however, her character was sideswiped by the dragon's tail, and effectively taken out. "Dang it!" The frustration in her voice was very clear and her expression showed her grumpiness.
For the first time since they'd started playing, the pair found themselves with their backs against the wall. They were doing a decent job at holding off the boss--though its HP was still barely dented, they were still putting up quite the fight. That is until the dragon's tail appeared on the other side of the screen, effectively bypassing the meat-shield that was Dante's barbarian, and laying the wizard out in one fell swipe.
He noticed Kitra's frustration, and her subsequent grumpy expression, and he willed himself to keep fighting. Her buffs had worn off, and his health wasn't so great anymore, but he was still giving it all he had. At least for about thirty seconds, at which point he fell, bested by the dragon's bite, and the big, bloody "Game Over" took over the screen. He was disgruntled, though he knew the second she went down that he wouldn't be far behind; as much as slaying that dragon would have hopefully impressed her, old videogames were not that cooperative.
"Hey, we gave it a hell of a go," he said with a chuckle as he looked into her eyes. Then, without even thinking too much on it, the shorter mutant leaned in, very briefly and gently letting his lips meet hers in a soft kiss that lasted all of a few seconds.
