The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

I’m feeling nervous Trying to be so perfect (Skye)
The night that Allyssa had spent with Skye had been great, despite the strange awkwardness that had occurred when Skye’s aunt and uncle had come home. That had certainly been strange and weird. But at least it hadn’t been as awkward as that one time in first year with her her roommate and her boyfriend…
But the rest of the night had been pretty great, and Skye was even a pretty good gamer, something that Allyssa had not been expecting. That part of the night had been just as good as earlier parts of the night had been.
So a few days later, Allyssa had called Skye, actually called her, to ask her on a real date. Something that sure seemed to surprise Skye on the other end of the phone. But how great the night had gone when they hooked up just made Allyssa want to see Skye again all the more.
So when Wednesday evening came, Allyssa made her way to the bowling alley she was meeting Skye at. Though she was dressed simply in jeans and a plaid shirt, her hair currently down though she had a hair tie around her wrist, Allyssa was more excited for this date than any she had been on in months. Cause she knew that she and Skye got along well, but she really wanted to get to know the woman better. And to get to spend more time together.

While Skye's first night with Allyssa wasn't what she'd call normal by any means, she had to admit it was different. A nice sort of different, though. They talked, even played a few videogames, and the other girl proved she could hold her own, which was a plus. A nice surprise even, that she found a girl who was as good a gamer as Skye was, not that the color-changing mutant would admit that.
The other surprise came a few days later when her phone rang, and it was Allyssa. Sure, she'd had people call back to....meet...again...but that wasn't what happened. She was asked...on a date?!? She was pleasantly shocked, and after making sure it wasn't some cruel joke, agreed to go bowling. Skye honestly couldn't remember the last actual date she'd been on, so she jumped at the chance.
Wearing a bright pink hoodie instead of her usual black one, her hair was an ecstatic yellow as she practically bounced to the bowling alley. She'd gotten there a little bit early, and leaned up against the wall, while she waited, her black pants and tennis shoes complimenting her pink hoodie, which was pulled over her head. An unmistakable smile was plastered across the young woman's face as she waited, her cheeks rather warm despite the temperature.
Allyssa had tried to get to the bowling alley a little early, so that she wasn’t running late or stressing about it. But apparently she wasn’t that early, because as she approached, Allyssa caught sight of Skye leaning against the wall, the bit of hair she could see sticking out from under her hood a vibrant yellow.
Smiling as she approached, Allyssa smiled even wider as she got close and saw Skye’s hair change from the almost neon yellow to her natural brown as she got close enough that the other woman was in her field. And as great as the colours looked, Allyssa really did like the shade of brown Skye sported when they were close.
”I hope you weren’t waiting long,” she said as she stopped in front Skye. Then she leaned in to give Skye a quick kiss before stepping back with a grin. ”So are you ready to roll some balls?”

The light on her hands flickered yellow, and Skye kept her hands out of her pockets, watching the bright lights that originated from her palms. It was honestly quite the sight, to be honest, though she never really paid it much attention. Though here lately, she was meeting more people who were...what did Blaine and Lee call them? Adaptoids?
Her train of thought was interrupted when she saw her lights instantly putter out, like a candle's flame in a gust of wind. By now she knew what that meant and she looked up, seeing her favorite Adepted? Anemic? No, that wasn't even close...Adapted! She saw the adapted she was waiting for, and her smile brightened.
"Oh, I was here maybe five minutes," she said with a shrug. Okay, she may have lied a little, seeing as how it was probably ten, but she was excited, and Allyssa wasn't late or anything. Was showing up fifteen minutes early to a date weird? Skye hoped not, but that was what she did.
She gave an immature snort at the other girl's next comment, giggling just a little. "Not tonight, but I am ready to bowl," she teased lightly, winking as she offered her arm to lead her inside.
Allyssa nodded when Skye said that she hadn’t been there long. Five minutes? She had made sure to get there early herself. Did that mean that Skye was as excited for this date as she was?
Allyssa sure hoped so.
And though Allyssa had been teasing slightly when she’d asked about rolling balls, she had to laugh as Skye responded. ”Well, in that case, I’m glad,” she said as she took Skye’s arm and they started walking inside.
It really didn’t take long to get their shoes and lane once they were inside. ”I hope you’re ready,” Allyssa said, grinning at Skye as she sat to switch shoes. ”There wasn’t a whole lot to do back home for fun other than bowl.”
It was most likely possible to at least have a gist of what Skye's hair colors meant, though Allyssa would likely never have the chance to learn, considering when she was close, Skye's powers didn't work. And Skye did rather enjoy her company more when she was less than eight feet away. A lot less. The mutant did know that yellow meant excitement--most of the time--though yellow was one of those colors that didn't show very often. She did have to wonder how she'd look as a blonde, though...
Arm in arm, they walked inside, and she traded her practical sneakers for some ugly clown-shoes, then they found their lane once that was set up. And then, Allyssa spoke again. Ready? Great...
"The nearest bowling alley was about a fifteen to thirty minute drive away. So while not right down the street, I still got around a little bit," she said with a smile. "The only thing for a teenager to legally do in town was go fishing," she said with a roll of her brown eyes.
Allyssa smiled over at Skye as she talked about how far away the closest bowling alley had been growing up. That probably meant that Allyssa had much more time spent in bowling alleys, but that didn't mean Allyssa was going to be able to beat her.
Either way, it was bound to be fun.
”So you spent a lot of time fishing?” Allyssa asked as she stood up after getting her shoes on. ”Catch anything good?”

She smiled back; Allyssa really was a lot of fun to hang around. She was a good gamer, which was a plus, and she seemed worthy of Skye's time, for more than just the usual. Though, Skye wasn't sure how much rust she was going to have to knock off. Hell, when she was able to semi-regularly, she still wasn't very good.
Even still, it should be fun, right?
"Ugh. Yeah I did catch my fair share, but I was never really into it. My grandpa took me every weekend because I was the only grandchild. Still am, actually..." For the next several months, anyway. That thought made her happy, but she did okay at hiding the grin.
"Okay so you ready to bowl?" She said, shooting the other girl a playful yet competitive grin.
Allyssa nodded as Skye described how her grandfather had taken her fishing as a child because she was the only grandchild. Allyssa sort of knew what that was like. Well, not the only grandchild thing, she did have cousins even though they didn’t live close, but she was an only child. Just as that little tidbit told her that Skye was an only child as well. Yet another thing that they seemed to have in common.
”That sounds like it’d at least be some good quality time if nothing else,” Allyssa said with a smile.
Then she saw Skye’s grin, and grinned back at her. ”Oh, of course I’m ready to bowl,” she said, stepping forward to grab a ball. ”Hope you don’t mind if I go first.”

"Yeah, it was. Just sitting on the dock with him. Maybe when I visit soon he'll be up to going out on the dock again," she said with a forlorn smile. She liked her new life here, but sometimes she just missed home. The quiet, the peace, the smell of seawater in the air. But mutants were a lot harder to come by there, and here...she felt like she fit in better.
"Of course I don't mind you going first," she said sweetly, taking a seat and waiting her turn. At least she'd get to enjoy the view--and maybe watch her technique. Refresh her memory a bit.
As she picked out a bowling ball that she liked, Allyssa listened to Skye talk about how she would sit on the dock with her grandfather fishing. ”Where is home?” Allyssa asked, lifting a ball to check the weight. She knew that most of them would likely be far too heavy for her.
Then hearing that Skye didn’t mind her going first, she turned to the lane, sending the ball down toward the pins. And managed to knock down seven of them. Not too bad for her first try of the evening. While waiting for her ball to come back, Allyssa turned to look at Skye again. ”It’s great that you’re so close to your family, though. When are you going, if you don’t mind me asking?”

"Home? Oh, I'm from Maine. Port Haven, to be exact. The past two months living here are my first time away," she answered with a smile, figuring her accent probably gave that one away.
Watching Allyssa bowl, she noted the girl's form-and her figure--as she knocked over seven pins. Skye may have her work cut out for her tonight. But the evening had just begun, so maybe she still had a chance.
"I'm not sure, honestly. My Aunt Lee is putting the trip together, and what with her expecting a baby, I'm not really sure what the timetable on the plans are, really," she said with a shrug, resting her chin on her fists.
Skye was definitely much further from home than she was herself. Though, Allyssa realized, New York was probably her home now, since her own family had shut her out.
”It must have been a shock when you first got here,” she said, slowly walking toward Skye as she waited for her ball to return. ”I mean, it sure was for me, and my hometown isn't as small.”
About then, her ball came back, so Allyssa turned to take her second shot. And only managed to get one more pin knocked over.
Just in time for Skye to tell her that her aunt, who was pregnant, was planning the trip. ”So it's a whole big family thing? That's great. Though I guess if she's pregnant, you'll lose your spot as only grandchild soon,” Allyssa said as she made her way back to where Skye was sitting.
"Shock? That doesn't cover the half of it. My first time on a plane, and the flight's delayed. Instead of getting here at eight, as was the plan, I was knocking on my uncle's door at three in the morning, which I'm sure made everything worse," she said with a dry chuckle.
"Yeah, a family thing. Apparently she likes doing things like that, and it's supposed to be this big surprise for my uncle, who hasn't seen the family in like...a decade, at least," she added, smiling a little. "True, though I'm kinda looking forward to having a little cousin. Especially when they get older. There's probably a good chance they'd be mutant, too. But either way, I'd be happy to lose my only grandchild status."
She picked out a ball; bright pink, light, with holes that weren't meant for a giant. She swore her whole hand could fit in some of those holes. But she finally found the right one--she hoped. Taking her stance, calling the technique her father taught her from memory, she let the ball loose. Six pins fell. Not bad at all.
Waiting for her ball to come back, she looked over at Allyssa. "So what about you? What's your hometown like?" she asked.
Skye’s first time on a plane had been to come to New York a couple months ago, and she’d been alone and the plane delayed by hours. ”Why didn’t they meet you at the airport?” Allyssa asked. Even if the plane had been delayed, that would have made more sense, wouldn’t it?
As Skye continued speaking, Allyssa sat down and nodded. ”That’ll be a huge surprise, then,” she said, watching as Skye chose a ball. Then she tilted her head slightly as she watched Skye.”But how do you know that your cousin will be a mutant? How can you tell that before the kid is even born?”
By this time, Skye was making she shot, and Allyssa made sure to watch the woman carefully, a small smile on her face. Bowling had definitely been a good choice, it definitely gave her a great view of her date. Sure, going to see a movie would give them the opportunity to make out, but you definitely didn’t get view like this in a movie theatre.
”It’s a small town, though definitely not as small as yours,” Allyssa said with a smile. ”My mom ran a daycare, so I was an only child, but never really felt like it. Though, at least when I got older, there was at least a bowling alley and theatre to go to with friends. Though I probably won’t be going back there any time soon.”
