The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Warm Fuzzy Feelings and Those Aren't Butterflies (Lee)
Just the mention of Blaine not making it pro was enough to set Skye off, even momentarily. No wonder it has been so easy for Lee to get her to go nova that day.
And that was true, Lee thought. If Blaine had made it pro, not only would she have never met him, but Skye wouldn’t have been able to come to New York to live with him. Sure, she could have gone to Vegas, or wherever it was that Blaine was living, but it certainly would have made things a lot different.
But she wasn’t thinking of any of that now, she was a little preoccupied in the bathroom. At least this time Lee was a bit more comfortable wearing the pajama pants rather than a dress. And, though she could tell that Blaine and Skye were talking, Lee couldn’t make out what they were saying through the door.
It was a little surreal, though. She knew that they were out there in the living room because she could hear them, but it felt as though the apartment was completely empty other than her because she still wasn’t siphoning.
Finally, Lee felt better, and after cleaning up, made her way out to the living room once more to see that Blaine had gotten up to grab his beer. And a drink for her, she noticed, sitting on the table.
”Good, because if I have to go without Chinese and pineapples on my pizza, I’m not going to be impressed,” Lee said, giving Blaine a wink as she grabbed her pop and sat back down. On his lap once more. ”So you two decided?”
"Okay, so that's settled," Blaine said after Lee came back. "Yeah, we're getting our pineapple. And Skye's getting her mushrooms..." Blaine made a face at the word mushrooms. Then, he popped open his beer, taking a sip before picking up his phone and going to the kitchen, making a call.
From the kitchen, he ordered one large pizza with sausage, pepperoni, onions, peppers, and pineapples, and a medium with the pineapple replaced with mushrooms. Once done, he plopped back on the recliner, hitting play again. "Pizzas should be here in about thirty," he said with a nod.
He settled back onto the recliner, taking another sip of his beer, though it felt weird being the only one in the room drinking. He looked over at Skye. He knew she technically couldn't have any, not legally anyway. But he still wondered how everyone else felt about that. Not that it really mattered.
The next fight started, and he gave a smirk. "Oh, I remember this one. I almost broke a sweat there," he murmured with a grin.
Pineapple on one pizza and mushrooms on the other? The only thing better would have been if they had been on the same pizza, but that wasn’t exactly going to happen, not with how Blaine felt about mushrooms. And then Blaine was reaching for his phone, so Lee slid off his lap to let him up. While she was waiting for Blaine to return, Lee opened her drink and took asip as she sat on the arm of the recliner.
Thankfully, it didn’t take long for him to order, and then he was back sitting down. But instead of sitting on his lap, Lee stayed where she was on the arm of the recliner, but leaned against Blaine as he started the fight playing again.
Hearing Blaine’s comment about the fight that was starting, Lee grinned over at him. ”You almost broke a sweat?” Lee asked. ”So what you mean is he was almost as good as me?”
When he sat back down, she didn't sit back on his lap, which was somewhat disappointing, but when she leaned against him, he did wrap his arm around her, hand resting on her stomach.
"I didn't say that," he replied, looking at her with a playful grin. "I mean, I am a lot older now than I was back then." He gave her a sly wink as he turned his attention back to the screen.
"Though, you did give thirty-six year old me a run for my money, I guess we'll never know how you would have done against me in my prime." He stuck his tongue out at her playfully as his hand gently trailed her stomach, not realizing what he was doing as he watched the fight, a somewhat dreamy expression on his face.
Hearing Blaine start speaking, Lee turned her head to look at him, her eyebrow raised. And as he continued, her other eyebrow rose to join it. ”Oh, so now you’re claiming the only reason I did so well against you is because you got old?” Lee shook her head and turned her eyes back to the TV.
”He got old…” Lee muttered teasingly still shaking her head. But as she muttered, Lee felt Blaine’s fingers tracing across her stomach as they sat there. Lee couldn’t help it, a small smile grew on her face as she sat, leaning back against Blaine as they watched the fight. And even though she didn’t know a whole lot about MMA fighting, even she could tell that this one was a really good fight.
"I'm saying it might have helped," he continued teasing. "I mean, you see how fast I used to be? I'm still fast for my size, but I was a force to be reckoned with twenty years ago." He chuckled lightly; everyone in that room knew he was a force to be reckoned with now.
Skye smiled over at them. "You know; I give you guys a lot of crap, but you two always seem so happy together. I never really saw what a relationship was supposed to look like," she admitted, her hair turning a hint of blue, but it quickly flickered back to a happy orange.
"Hey, Lee's helped me out a lot," Blaine said as he settled back in. "Yeah, but it's nice. My parents were always so...serious. More about work. And....well we see where that landed."
”It might have helped...uh huh,” Lee said, rolling her eyes at Blaine with a shake of her head. Heaving a sigh, Lee just shook her head a bit. ”You may have been faster back then, but that would have just meant I’d actually need to use my speed when we spar.” Because, while yes, neither of them had really been holding back during their only real sparring match in terms of strength, Lee hadn’t even touched the extra speed she was capable of. At least not intentionally or consciously.
But then Skye spoke up, talking about hers and Blaine’s relationship, and Lee couldn’t stop the slight blush that crept across her cheeks even as she shrugged. ”Well, I’m really not sure if this is what it’s supposed to be like, but I know it works for me,” she said with another shrug before looking over her shoulder at Blaine with a smile. ”If we couldn’t just be ourselves and have fun together, I don’t think it’d matter how much I tried to help you, we wouldn’t have gotten here.”
Giving Blaine a quick kiss, Lee turned her eyes back to the TV for a moment before looking back over at Skye. ”There are definitely times to be serious, but if you can’t have fun…” Lee simply shook her head slightly before her voice lowered a bit. ”But unfortunately, even great relationships can end.”
He chuckled, figuring it better to leave that right there; they could go back and forth all day like this. And from the look on Skye's face, the amusement was starting to wear off. Though he had a guess who she'd pull for. But even then, she was fond of her "Aunt Lee," so he was uncertain there, too.
Skye nodded as Lee talked about the relationship, mentally taking notes. Though she was having fun with her...extracurricular activities....she did one day want to find someone more permanent. And she hoped she could have something as lighthearted and natural as they did. "Yeah, I guess they can," she murmured quietly.
At that moment there was a knock on the door, and Skye grabbed Blaine's wallet off of the table and answered it. Quietly she paid the pizza guy from Blaine's wallet before pulling a tip from her own pocket, and giving it to him, flashing the pizza guy a wink.
"Thanks. Have a good day," the delivery guy said before turning and leaving as Skye shut the door and set the pizzas on the table before plopping back down. Blaine had to snort a little at the failed attempt at flirting. Though considering everyone was home, and technically sitting on her bed...what was the plan there?
Sitting back on the couch, Skye grabbed a slice of pizza. Maybe her attempt to be cute would have worked better if she'd had more than singles.
Blaine didn’t say anything else, so Lee supposed that they were done talking about it. Lee simply shrugged and leaned back against him, taking a sip of her pop.
But Skye didn’t have a whole lot to say about the fact that even great relationships could end. Lee wasn’t exactly sure what she would have expected to hear, at any rate. There was a knock on the door right about then, and since Skye jumped up almost immediately, grabbing Blaine’s wallet on her way Lee couldn’t help but notice, Lee just sat there, leaning her head against Blaine’s shoulder. As hard as things had been at the end with Tarin, if things hadn’t ended there, she never would have even had the thought to get together with Blaine. She wouldn’t be sitting where she was now.
About that time, Skye was back with the pizza. Once Skye had grabbed her slice, Lee leaned forward, setting her drink on the table before passing a couple slices of pineapple to Blaine. Then after grabbing herself a slice, Lee leaned back, sliding down to sit on Blaine’s lap again. ”So,” Lee said once her pizza was half gone. ”Should we see if there’s a movie or something we can agree on when this fight ends?”
Skye stretched out on the couch as Lee and Blaine snuggled together on the recliner. Grabbing the remote once the fight ended, she flicked through the channels, finally finding something they could all agree on. The movies were well older than her, but Louisiana Johnson films were a classic and it just so happened she'd found the very beginning of a movie marathon.
Time passed relatively quietly, making for some rather decent family time. But halfway through the third film, Blaine looked over to see Skye had fallen asleep, the young woman's hair the indigo he was learning to recognize. "She really is starting to get comfortable here, isn't she?" Blaine whispered quietly to Lee.
He smiled softly; though it hadn't gone quite as planned, Blaine was rather happy with how the day had turned out.
Though the movie marathon wasn't what Lee had expected when she had come over for Valentine's Day, it was rather nice to sit there curled up on the recliner with Blaine. Not that anything beyond her getting to the apartment had been expected. But that didn’t stop it from being a good day. It was a nice, quiet family time, something that Lee hadn’t been expecting. Something that Blaine probably hadn’t had at all over the last 13 years until very recently.
Hours after the movies had started, Lee heard Blaine speak softly, and she looked over at Skye on the couch to see that she’d fallen asleep. ”She is,” Lee said softly with a smile as she turned back to Blaine. ”I’m glad. She was so nervous and anxious when she first got here. But we should probably let her sleep. Plus,” Lee continued, her smile turning into a full grin. ”As nice as this is, it isn’t exactly how I was thinking I’d spend my Valentine’s Day.”
Leaning in, Lee gave Blaine a quick kiss before she stood up and grabbed his hand. ”I was thinking we could maybe pick up where we were before I fell off the bed.”
He smiled. "I'm glad; I mean, I'm happy we're able to bond now, even after thirteen years of not seeing each other. I feel like I have a family again. I know they never left me or anything, but it's nice to have moments like this."
"Well, we don't do anything the 'traditional' way, anyway," he said with a smirk. And then...Lee kissed him, and that smirk became more of a devilish grin; one that was finding it's place on Blaine's face more and more often. "That, my dear," he whispered, trying his best--yet likely failing--to sound sexy. "Is an excellent idea."
With that, he took Lee's hand, quietly leading her to the bedroom. As soon as the door was shut behind them, his shirt and his pants hit the floor as he sat on the bed in his red boxer-briefs, looking at her with an innocent smile. Hey, she did say 'where they left off.'
Blaine said that they didn’t do anything the traditional way. Lee nodded slightly. Apparently, even though she longed for ‘normal’, doing things ‘traditionally’ was beyond her. Though, looking at Blaine with a smile, Lee couldn’t help but think it was good they weren’t traditional. She was very happy with what they had already, and what they had ahead of them, as untraditional as it was.
Seeing Blaine’s grin at her suggestion, Lee smiled wider. They had been rather suddenly interrupted, even if it had been by her falling off the bed. So it didn’t surprise Lee at how quickly Blaine led her to his bedroom, and she had a grin on her face the entire way. Though, it did surprise Lee a bit that Blaine’s shirt and pants were off almost as soon as the door was closed.
Standing back for a moment, her eyes just travelling over his muscles as he sat on the bed. And seeing the smile he gave her, Lee raised an eyebrow at him, but she walked forward stepping up in front of Blaine. It looked like he was taking her suggestion at face value to pick up right where they had left off.
Well, Lee thought with a slight smirk, it had been a very good place. So Lee quickly pulled her own shirt off before letting her pajama pants slide down to the join the shirt on the floor. ”Now, where were we?” Lee asked in a whisper as she stepped right up close to Blaine.
She had the same idea he had, or at least a similar one, and he had to smile at this as she stepped close to him. Wrapping his arms around her waist, he looked up at her. "Somewhere along right here," he murmured as he pulled her closer, kissing her passionately as he slid back onto the bed.
Sure nothing about them was traditional, or normal, but that also meant that nothing about them could be considered boring or ordinary. What they had, in every sense of the word, was special. And that was something he wasn't going to trade for anything.
Lee smiled as she felt Blaine’s arms wrapping around her, pulling her closer. Somewhere right around here did sound pretty good, she thought as she moved in to meet Blaine’s kiss, her breath already quickening. And feeling Blaine sliding further back on the bed, not wanting the kiss to end yet, Lee followed him up onto the bed, her knees beside his hips, as she wrapped her arms around his neck.
That day had been absolutely amazing so far, the time together had been incredible. But probably the best part had been Blaine’s reaction when she realized that she was in fact pregnant. He had been surprised, sure. Who wouldn’t be? But he had been happy.
Pulling back from the kiss slightly, Lee opened her eyes to look at Blaine, a smile on her face. ”I love you,” Lee breathed, just looking into his eyes for a few moments.
