The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Warm Fuzzy Feelings and Those Aren't Butterflies (Lee)
He was still smiling. That was a good thing, right? Lee hoped so. Though, as time ticked on before he answered, feeling like forever even though it was really only a couple of seconds in reality, Lee got more nervous and worried that maybe the smile was just frozen on his face and that Blaine was really panicking.
But then he grabbed her hand, and Lee let out another breath that she didn’t know she was holding. Then his words sank in, and Lee smiled at him. ”I think you’re supposed to be scared,” Lee told him softly. ”But I’m so relieved that you’re happy. I was worried that you wouldn’t be.”
"I normally don't do scared," Blaine replied gently as he looked at her, putting his hand on her cheek. His mind was still swimming, but...there was some sort of peace about it all. They were together, and neither of them was in this alone. So it would be okay.
"I'm not used to being scared, or even nervous, and it makes me even more uncomfortable, but..." he paused, smiling lightly. "I'm...I'm okay with this." Leaning in, he kissed her gently, one hand wrapping around her back.
Lee nodded her understanding when Blaine said that he didn’t normally do scared. ”Get used to being scared,” Lee said softly as she leaned into Blaine’s hand on her cheek slightly. Not that she was trying to worry or scare Blaine more than he already was, but she had been cared a lot over the years when it came to Kevin.
Then Blaine was leaning in, wrapping an arm around her as he kissed her. Returning the kiss, Lee wrapped her arms around Blaine in a hug. When the kiss ended, Lee pulled back slightly, looking into Blaine’s eyes. ”I love you,” Lee whispered after a moment.
He pursed his lips together as he nodded. "That's going to be tough to do, but...well, I have been in uncharted territory ever since I met you," he said with a smile.
When the kiss ended, their eyes met, and he nearly melted hearing her say those words. Sure, they'd established that they truly were in love, but...this was different. Now, with the current possibility, and this time she was the one who said it first. It made his smile grow even wider as he pulled her a little closer. It really meant a lot to him, hearing her say that. "I love you too," he murmured back.
”Just remember, I do have some idea what we’re getting into here,” Lee pointed out gently, with a small smile. ”Just, make sure you come to me when you’re scared or overwhelmed?”
After she had told Blaine that she loved him, he didn’t say anything at first. But as his smile grew on his face, a matching smile grew on Lee’s. Feeling Blaine pull her closer, Lee leaned against him, resting her head on his shoulder. ”So I guess this has ended up being a good day after all, despite how it started.”
Blaine listened, nodding quietly as his expression softened a bit. "Yeah, I will. At least one of us has an idea of what to expect," he murmured softly as he just held her close to him for a few moments. Then, he chuckled, "Yeah, it has been a pretty good day, even if you can't stomach the smell of eggroll," he teased lightly.
As he sat there with Lee in his muscular yet gentle, loving arms, his mind began to wander. It'd only been a couple months, but they'd gone so far, so fast in such a short amount of time. Just a few months ago, he thought he was fated to be alone for the rest of his life, but now he not only had someone, but it was very likely that they were going to have a baby. A grin came back to his face as he closed his eyes, unable to feel the single, happy tear that rolled down his cheek.
Blaine really did seem to be ok with this, happy even. Lee couldn't help the happy smile on her face as she sat there leaning against Blaine, his arms. ”But if me and Kevin can get through that pregnancy unscathed, I know we'll be fine this time,” Lee told Blaine softly. Not that he knew anything about what had happened when she was pregnant with Kevin, but it was the truth. After that worry, stress, and hardship, this would be easy Lee thought.
”Hey, it's not my fault I can't smell it without being sick,” Lee said with fake defensiveness. ”You just better hope this guy let's me eat it further along, because if I can't easy Chinese for the next 9 months, you're bound to be dealing with one cranky pregnant woman.”
And then they just say there in silence for a few minutes, Lee with a happy smile on her face as she snuggled into Blaine. After a while, Lee turned her head to look over at Blaine, to see a grin on his face as well. And a tear that had run down his cheek. Lifting her hand, Lee gently brushed the single tear away before letting her hand rest on his cheek. ”You really are ok with this, aren't you?” Lee asked softly. ”Even this soon.”
He took in every word she'd said, and from the way he was talking, he knew they were going to be alright. With her by his side, he could do this. He chuckled a little. "Yeah; I do know how much you love your Chinese," he said, trying to imagine if she had to go the whole time without. ...Maybe if it got to that point, Devon would let him temporarily stay somewhere. Blaine tried not to giggle at that joke of a thought, and he figured it would be best to keep that one to himself.
He sat in the silence, looking at her just in time to see her hand brush the tear away. "You know? I am okay with this. I really am," he murmured quietly.
Lee just smiled when she heard Blaine’s laugh, and his teasing comment. Despite how short a time they had been together, they really did know each other, and as such, he knew that she would not be happy if she wasn’t able to eat Chinese food over the next nine months without being sick.
And then Blaine confirmed, again, that he was ok with the fact that she seemed to be pregnant after they’d only been together for two months. Lee smiled even wider, happier. With her hand still on his cheek, Lee reached up and gave him a soft kiss before pulling back slightly. ”I know the food didn't work out, but did you have anything else planned for today?”
He returned the kiss, rubbing her back gently, and then pulled back. "Well, I'd thought we'd eat lunch, snack on cookies a little, and then just...see what happened," he said with a shrug. "Though I guess now we're just playing it by ear,"
Leaning in, he kissed her again. "That was a nice Valentine's surprise though, even if neither of us had planned it." he gave her a light wink, his demeanor much softer than it usually was, even around Lee. Usually he was her teddy bear, but right now he was even softer than that.
Lee nodded as she listened to what Blaine said he’d had planned for them that day. It was pretty simple and basic, but Lee couldn’t help but think that it sounded like a good plan for the day. ”That does sound good,” Lee said, giving Blaine a smile. ”Though we probably will need to eat at some point, even if I can’t handle the Chinese right now.”
Blaine was being very soft and tender with her, more so than he normally was, and that was saying something because Blaine often made conscious effort to make sure he was being gentle with her, even if it didn’t take the concentration it once did. But it make Lee smile as he kissed her.
”It was a rather timely surprise, wasn’t it?” Lee asked with a slight laugh. ”I really can’t think of a better time we could have found out. Though, I would have liked to be able to eat lunch.”
"Well, we'll have to find something you can stomach, and I can eat on the Chinese this week when you're not around to smell it," he offered, then thought a moment before leaning in and giving her another sweet kiss as his heart beat excitedly in his chest.
"Yeah, it was, but I'm happy with how it turned out. I get twice as much Chinese later, after all," he teased with a wink that was accompanied by a sly grin. "Maybe when you're ready when can order a pizza or something," he suggested, pulling back to sort of look her over, taking in her figure as another smile crossed his face.
A part of him couldn't believe this was happening, but the other part of him was excited.
Lee nodded at Blaine's idea with a smile. That did sound like a good plan, pizza should be safe enough, and the Chinese wouldn't go to waste.
But as Blaine spoke after giving her another kiss, Lee laughed and shook her head. ”Take it while you can,” Lee told him, still laughing a bit. ”They say ‘eating for two’ for a reason.”
Seeing the grin that Blaine directed at her, Lee didn't think it quite matched his comment about pizza. Though, Lee realized, maybe he was still worried about her not feeling well. ”Pizza does sound good. But I think I can wait a while before we order.” Grinning at Blaine, Lee grabbed his hand and stood. ”I mean, it's not like we can get ourselves on much more trouble, and it is Valentine's Day.”
"Trust me, I will," he murmured with a chuckle. "But I can make due after all, especially for what is now two of my favorite people."
But then he saw her taking his hand, and mentioning that pizza could wait, and he didn't have any trouble figuring out where this was going. A smirk crept across his face as he stood to his feet. "Cool, I'm not that hungry, anyway," he said with a wink as he took the lead, taking her to the bedroom and shutting the door behind them.
Then, he sat on the edge of the bed, pulling her closer to him.
Now two of his favourite people? Lee couldn’t keep the smile off her face. Her cheeks were actually starting to ache a little from all this smiling. But with how happy she was feeling, she didn’t really want to stop smiling, either.
As she stood, Lee saw the smirk on Blaine’s face and knew that he was thinking the same thing that she was. Good, because as she had said, it was Valentine’s Day. Generally you did a bit more than simply sit on the couch.
But once they were in his bedroom, the door closed behind them, Blaine simply sat on the bed and pulled her close to him. That was it. So Lee leaned in, wrapping her arms around Blaine’s neck, kissing him.
