The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

As Jason slipped his jacket off, Lee wrapped her arms around him. She was still wearing hers, so she definitely wasn’t feeling the full effect of his body heat, but...it was nice standing here like this. And then his arms were back around her, his hand starting to run through her hair, and Lee closed her eyes with a happy sigh.
He was thinking the same thing? Lee smiled as she simply stood there. There would always be coffee, they could even have coffee later, after. Plus, didn’t they say that body heat was the best way to warm up?
But rather than moving, Jason just stood there holding her for a moment. Before leaning down and kissing her cheek. This was so different from anything else she’d done before, different from anything she’d felt before. But isn’t that what had caused all of this in the first place?
Finally lifting her head, Lee looked up at Jason, a small smile on her face. Then she stretched up, standing up on her toes to get a little more height than her heels gave her, to kiss him.

Seeing her smile like that made his heart melt, and he knew this was different for both of them, but, it made him happy. Even if neither of them knew what the hell they were doing aside from the obvious. And then she kissed him, and his breath caught a little in his throat as his arm around her slid to adjust and his other hand continued to glide through her hair.
After a moment, he pulled away, smiling."Yeeeeah....I better go get that blanket," he murmured with a wink as he very slowly, almost reluctantly broke from the embrace, walking over to the closet and grabbing a blanket which he very quickly yet neatly spread across the bed before sitting on it, sporting a small smirk.
Lee felt Jason’s arms tighten around her as she kissed him. And his hand continued to move in her hair, causing Lee’s breath to catch in her throat.
But then Jason was pulling away from the kiss. Saying that he should go get that blanket. Lee nodded, then watched as Jason walked away toward the closet before she started moving herself. Pausing briefly by the loveseat, Lee took her boots off, followed by her jacket which she left of the back of the loveseat while she watched Jason spreading that extra blanket over the bed.
A smile on her face, Lee came to a stop in front of Jason. ”I’m really not sure what good sitting on top of the blanket is going to do,” Lee said softly, moving closer and letting her hands come to rest on Jason’s shoulders.

He smiled as she walked over to him, putting her hands on his shoulders, and he smirked again as she talked, giving a small shrug. "I was waiting on you," he murmured, standing to his feet as he slid his shoes off and kicked them under the bed just enough where they'd be out of the way.
Giving her a quick peck on the lips, he walked over to the side of the bed nearest the kitchen and pulled the blanket back before sitting on the bed and patting the empty space on the other side. Then, after giving her time, he lay down, himself, setting his glasses on the night table; something told him he wasn't going to need those.
”Oh,” Lee said with a nod as Jason stood up, her hands still on his shoulders. ”You were waiting for me, were you?” But this was for her, at least superficially, so it made sense.
And after a soft kiss, Jason was moving, pulling the blankets back, and sitting on the edge of the bed. So Lee moved over to the other side, quickly unzipping her dress and letting it fall to her feet, leaving her in just her underwear. Then she slipped under the blankets and, once Jason was laying down as well, moved over to snuggle beside him. Because body heat and all that.

He too got down to his underwear, dropping his clothes to the floor as he settled under the blanket. This was quite different than last time, definitely different than the usual. Then again...judging by the earlier conversation...they were likely going to see more of each other. And honestly...he really liked that idea, and not just because of what was probably the obvious thing. Like he'd said, there was a connection. Something special.
As she snuggled close to him, a slight shiver ran up his spine and his arms wrapped around her. After a few moments of enjoying this, he went back to running a hand through her hair, closing his eyes just a little as he grew comfortable.
As Lee got close to Jason in the bed, she could feel him shiver. ”Sorry,” she murmured even as she was snuggling closer to him, head on his shoulder, one arm and one leg draped across him.
Jason’s body, his arms around her, were finally starting to warm her up, something she hadn’t felt since she had been in the bar. And then Lee felt Jason’s hand running through her hair again. That was...very nice. Lee’s eyes closed as she lay there, her body relaxing in a way she didn’t think it ever really had when she’d been this close to someone.
”You know,” Lee said after a few minutes of simply laying there, not even realizing there was a happy little smile on her face. As she spoke, the fingers of the hand Lee had across Jason’s chest started moving slightly, tracing the contours of his shoulder. ”I’ve never really had this before. I mean, normally they’d fall asleep and I’d leave...But this is really nice.”

"Don't apologize," he murmured softly, shuddering again. Followed by another as her hands traced his shoulder. A grin spread across his face.
"I've never really had anything like this either," he mumbled, eyes opening slightly to look at her."You're used to leaving, and I'm used to waking up alone...well, being left alone...most of the time I've just pretended to sleep because I didn't want it to be awkward and insomnia can be a pain," he said with a slight shrug.
His hand running through her hair migrated a bit, moving to rest on her cheek as he leaned in for a soft kiss.
Lee felt her heart beat a little fast as she felt Jason shudder another couple times. Maybe that initial shiver she’d felt hadn’t been because she was so cold. Or at least not completely.
And then he was explaining how things had been similar for him, only from the other side, and Lee nodded against Jason’s shoulder. Just because it had been the least painful way she had found to not live a life devoid of physical contact, didn’t mean that it had been easy. Just like this likely wouldn’t be easy, though for different reasons.
And it’d be more painful when it was over.
But this wasn’t painful, not at all, and Lee smiled when she felt Jason’s hand coming to rest on her cheek. Followed by a kiss. Feeling that, Lee lifted her head slightly, turning, to return the kiss, the hand on his shoulder moving to the back of his neck.

Jason didn't think about their possible end, he didn't think about how this could go wrong, which it very well could. No, he'd done what he'd been doing this entire time, taking it in stride and enjoying what he could. Even though he knew how bad it was going to feel when she really was gone. This thought cause the hand on her back to squeeze a little tighter.
He held the kiss, his hand moving back to her hair as it grew subconsciously more intense. His eyes closed, he pushed every thought out of his head that wasn't about her, in this moment. After all, why worry about losing someone that was right there at the moment? No matter what happened, one thing was for sure: he'd never forget Lee. Even if it would be better for him, she'd already claimed a spot on his mind.
As the kiss intensified, became more passionate, Lee felt Jason's arm tighten around her, Lee pressed her body closer to his. Just like the other night they had spent together, such a seemingly simple kiss was causing her heart to beat faster, her breath to catch in her throat.
And then Jason's hand was back in her hair, and Lee moaned against Jason's lips. Suddenly, Lee was quite glad that they had left the bar as early as they had, because that meant they had that much more time. Lee just hoped that tonight would prove just as good as their last night together had been.
*Fade to black*
A few hours later, and Lee was honestly surprised how many after how… Active they had been, found Lee laying in the bed with Jason much as they had to start. Only now the blankets were skewed on the bed, the sheet only partially covering them.
With her head on Jason's shoulder, Lee could feel his breathing slowly evening out, his body relaxing. Lee was only able to lay there there for another few minutes before she needed to get up out of the bed. With nothing to distract her, Lee had far too much energy to simply lay there.
So out of bed Lee slipped. Normally, this would be where Lee would get dressed and leave. But if they were actually trying to do more than these two nights, as in actually try, it may not be the best idea to sneak out.
Instead, of grabbing her own clothing, Lee went to raid Jason's closet. He has said he liked how she looked in his shirt the last time, afterall. After a quick sort through, Lee made a decision with a slight laugh as she pulled out a t-shirt depicting a dog playing a guitar.
Pulling the shirt over her head, Lee made her way to grab a drink from the fridge. Once she had cracked open a bottle of beer and taken a sip, Lee looked around the apartment. Not that there was much to it, but he had made use of a stereo the last time. Lee walked over to take a look. And didn’t see any CDs beyond what was already in the CD changer. Lee frowned. With everything that Jason had said about about music, Lee would have thought that he’d have a far larger music collection. But the bookshelf that the stereo was sitting on held little else other than books. And the closet certainly hadn’t had any music in it that she had seen.
The frown still on her face, Lee turned to look over the apartment. Her eyes fell on on the desk. Shrugging, Lee made her way over as she sipped on her beer, and sat down at the desk. The first drawer she tried, the top right, was locked. Moving down, Lee found a drawer filled with bills, phone books, and other rather uninteresting papers. Closing the drawer, Lee moved to the other side.
Jackpot! Lee had found the music! And Lee started going through it, thoroughly. Music could say a lot about a person, what song they choice to listen to at certain times, what their guilty pleasure was.
And, most of the music Lee found was rather good, she liked most of it. But when she made it into looking into the bottom drawer, which she found held more CDs, Lee found what must have been Jason’s guilty pleasure based on the rest of the music: 80s pop. Biting her lips to suppress a grin even though Jason was sleeping, Lee kept looking through the rest of the CDs. It wasn’t the worst that it could have been, but Lee didn’t know much music from the 80s to be able to properly judge the music Jason had hiding there.
Once she was finished, Lee closed the drawer and turned in the chair to look around the apartment again. Her eyes slowly drifted over to Jason’s sleeping form. And then she looked back at the desk, and the locked drawer. Lee couldn’t help it, she was curious about what was inside. Another quick look over at Jason, Lee thought she may as well try. Hopefully Jason wouldn’t get too upset. If he found out she was snooping.

Jason was sleeping like a baby in a matter of hours, but it was a peaceful sleep; something he really wasn't used to. Feeling her next to him, a small smile on his lips as his breathing steadied out and he relaxed into the bed. And he hadn't noticed when Lee got up and started searching his apartment.
The desk in of itself was simple, four drawers, two on each side. On top of the desk was a closed laptop, and scattered notes and newspaper clippings, mostly about missing mutants in the area, and others that had been found dead. Some of the articles were obviously anti-mutant in perspective, while others were more objective and talking about how laid back the police department seemed to be.
Under the laptop, was a key, barely sticking out from under the computer. The drawer itself, held three letters, each from someone different thanking Jason for his help. Under that, was an article with the headline "ATLANTA COP CONNECTED TO MUTANT KILLED IN POLICE CONFRONTATION", and under that a cracked picture frame depicting two kids. At the bottom, the butt of a gun could barely be seen.
After a moment, Jay stretched in his sleep, letting out a groan when he didn't feel Lee next to him. After a moment, he let out another groan, sitting up in bed.
Turning back to the drawer, Lee tried it one more time. Sure enough it was locked. So Lee turned her attention to the top of the desk. She wasn’t doing it for any nefarious reasons, or even to simply get dirt on him. Lee was simply curious. Though he definitely seemed to want this relationship with her, he hadn’t told her a whole lot about himself. Not with any kind of detail.
She was simply curious and wanted to know Jason better. And if he was going to sleep while she was awake like this, well there was only one way for her to find out.
Most of what Lee found on the desk were newspaper articles about missing and dead mutants. Lee frowned as she looked at them. But really nothing there told her anything about Jason, other than the fact that he was interested in other mutants. She knew that, though, he had told her.
Well, that was a bit of a bust, Lee thought turning her attention to the laptop. Though she wasn’t exactly planning to snoop on that. That would be going a bit too far, she thought. Plus, with his job, there were probably a lot of things on there that really had nothing to do with him but that she shouldn’t be seeing anyway. But maybe she could find a game or something to do on there to pass the time.
And that’s when she saw it. Tucked almost completely underneath the laptop Lee saw a key. Tilting her head slightly, Lee pulled it out and turned to the drawer again. Slipping the key in the lock, Lee pulled the drawer open. And saw that it was almost empty.
Reading the first letter, and then the second, Lee smiled. Jason had helped mutants hide and make new lives. That really was amazing. As she was reaching for the next letter, Lee’s attention was drawn to a newspaper article underneath. A crease forming between her brows, Lee pulled it out, and as she did she saw a picture underneath. But Lee only had time to glance at the photo before she heard a groan coming from the bed.
Quickly putting everything back in the drawer, Lee closed it and spun in the chair, beer bottle in hand. Then she smiled when she saw Jason sit up. ”Hey there, sleepyhead,” she said standing and slowly walking towards the bed.

Jason rubbed his eyes a little, then smiled to see her still in his apartment. And wearing one of his shirts. It was a shirt he hadn't worn in years, yet he never could bring himself to get rid of it. And he could really get used to seeing her walking around the apartment in one of his shirts. But mostly, as it stood he was happy to see she didn't leave. Though he wondered what she was doing at his desk, his only thought was looking for music.
"Glad to see you stuck around," he said with a smile as she approached him. "I see you found my shirt, and my beer," he chuckled lightly. "You find everything else okay? Or were you just sneaking a peek at what it is I do? I assure it's nothing like the movies, really. No shootouts, no fancy clothes or cars. And you're the first woman I've brought home in quite awhile. So it's not as glamorous as you might think," he said with a wink.
He was smiling as he spoke. Good, he hadn’t seen her in that locked drawer of his. Reaching the bed, Lee sat on the edge, looking over at him, then shrugged. ”I got thirsty, and I figured you wouldn’t mind. Plus,” Lee said with a grin as she scooted a little closer. ”I seem to remember you saying something about liking how I looked wearing one of your shirts.”
But when Jason asked if she’d found everything she’d been looking for, and if she’d been peeking at what he did, Lee shook her head. ”Nah, nothing like that,” Lee told him. And it was true, she hadn’t been trying to snoop into his job, just into...him. ”I was looking for your music. With everything musical we’ve talked about, I knew you had to have more than just what’s in your stereo right now.”
Then Lee got a confused look on her face. ”But really, Michael Jackson and Bruce Springsteen?”
