Hey man! I have a teacher from the Mansion, and current x-man who would be an excellent mentor. He is into old cartoons and video games, Japanese television, and helping people. He knows plenty of people and could help your character come to terms with being a mutant or whatever you'd like.
I fully endorse the people above and looks like you already got one with Fishy! Any Havenites I'm sure will be happy to thread!

1) Gaining knowledge of Mutants and control over his Mutation
This is one of Devon's true joys, meeting and helping mutants with their abilities. He enjoys helping others train, has access to different resources for such, and loves talking the philosophy of mutant abilities. Devon's business is all about treatment, training, and health while the organization he helped sponsor (the faction Haven) takes it to another level.
2) Networking and getting jobs for his Photography Studio 2A) While networking, also looking for clues to finding his older brother Abe
Devon's a bit of networking entrepreneur. He knows a lot of people through his early work around the city, volunteering through Sanctuary, and now his business / activities.
3) Exploring New York - but he wants a guide
Devon travels around the boroughs often, plus he gets a perspective of the city few do considering he can fly.
