The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"That's good to know. I wouldn't put you in a situation requiring that." His face was sincere, though it meant a lot to him that even if it was a viable option, she wouldn't hit him unless they were sparring.
"Yeah, it's grown on me, I must admit," he murmured, looking down as her fingers trailed his arm. Even though all he had to go on was his sight--from the way her fingers moved to the look on her face as she did it--he had to admit it was nice.
"Me too, though you've taught me to enjoy these things in my own way. I may not be like everyone else, but...I guess that's what makes me special." He took another sip of his beer, letting his own words sink in. They sounded about right.
Lee just sat there watching Blaine as she lightly trailed her fingers along his arm, a smile growing on her face as she heard his words. And then he turned his eyes from her fingers up to her face, and Lee’s smile grew even wider, happier.
As Blaine continued to speak, Lee’s fingers continued to move slowly, up and down his arm. She didn’t even fully realize she was still doing it, her attention was focused on Blaine’s eyes and words. ”I’m glad I could help,” Lee whispered. ”Even if this wasn’t what I was getting at when I first tried to help, I am very glad I could.
“And you’re right, you are special,” Lee told him.
Blaine didn't notice her fingers still trailing his arm, as his eyes were now on her, but he did assume she was still doing it.
"True, but if I recall, we ended up getting together because someone made a Freudian slip," he said with a slight chuckle. "But I'm glad you did."
He smiled a little more when she confirmed that he was special. "So are you. But then again, considering what I was like a few weeks ago compared to now, you'd kind of have to be."
Lee blushed slightly as Blaine told her that she was special, too. Sure, she had told him on a number of occasions just how great she was, she hadn’t been completely serious about it. ”I’m not so sure, Blaine,” Lee said softly, a small smile on her face. ”If you hadn’t wanted to, if you weren’t ready to try this, you wouldn’t have changed so much so quickly.”
Looking at Blaine, the smile still on her face, Lee just sat there for a moment. ”But I’m glad. I really am.”
