The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Though she had been joking, Lee couldn't stop the blush from appearing on her face as she heard Blane’s words. And the fact that he was blushing as well as he said it didn't stop the blush. But what was she supposed to say about that, say in response to that?
Luckily, that was put on the backburner and the blush faded with talk about Blaine meeting Kevin. But he seemed interested in meeting him, and Lee smiled slightly. I’m really not sure,” Lee said with a shrug. ”What about New Years’? That will give me time to talk with him about it first.”
He relaxed a little more after the joking, settling in once they talked about meeting Kevin. He found himself liking the idea of meeting her son and sister; to him it meant that they were more involved than just seeing each other after work--not that he minded that. It was nice, having someone to spend time with and be involved with. Even in spite of the occasional hiccup.
"New Years sounds good," he murmured, closing his eyes for a few moments. "So, do you have anything planned for tonight, or is this it?" he said softly.
Lee smiled when Blaine said New Years’ sounded like a good plan for meeting Kevin. Despite the fact that it did seem like a good idea, Lee couldn’t help but feel nervous. She’d never introduced anyone to Kevin like this, not that she’d actually seen anyone like she was seeing Blaine now, but she hadn’t even introduced friends to her son. The only adults that he had met in even a remotely similar situation had been the parents of his friends.
Lee shook her head slightly. Of course she was nervous to do this, but that didn’t mean it wasn’t a good idea.
Then Blaine asked if she had anything else planned for the night, and Lee shook her head again. ”To be honest, I’ve kind of stopped making plans for after work,” Lee admitted with a slightly sheepish smile. ”Coming over here with you is so much better than anything else I had been doing before. Why, did you have plans?”
He opened his eyes as she spoke again. He really enjoyed the moments like this, where they just talked; it was relaxing, and she was obviously good company. Part of him still wondered how it happened so quickly, but as long as she wasn't going anywhere anytime soon, then he was okay with this.
He shook his head at her question. "Nah; I don't have anything planned. Actually, my nights are completely free now, aside from work," he said, kissing her cheek softly as he sighed contentedly. After a moment, he pulled his arm away and stood to his feet, making his way to the kitchen. After a moment, he returned with another beer for each of them. Cracking one open, he took a sip before setting the other one in front of her.
He didn't have any plans at night other than work. ”Though you know, I think it might be because we've kind of made this into our nightly plan,” Lee said, snuggling against Blaine's shoulder for a moment.
At least she was snuggling against his shoulder until he moved to get up of the couch. So Lee straightened up on the couch, drinking her beer as she waited for Blaine to return.
Only for him to come back with another couple of beer. As he sat and cracked one of them open, Lee turned to look at Blaine with a raised eyebrow. ”What's the occasion?”
"Hey, I like our nightly routine." He chuckled, but then he shrugged as she asked what the occasion was. "There has to be an occasion for more than one beer?" He teased lightly as he took a sip and reclaimed his spot on the couch next to her.
Again, he wrapped his arm around her, basically picking up where they left off, only now there was more beer. "Okay, so maybe I'm just enjoying the time. And I may or may not have anything else to drink," he said with a small chuckle. He really needed to stock up on groceries, though most of his groceries were drinks; he did normally eat take-out, after all.
”Who said that I didn’t like this?” Lee asked, finishing her first beer and grabbing the second that Blaine had brought out before leaning back against him. ”And normally, I’d say no,” Lee continued, cracking open her beer and taking a sip. ”But I don’t think I’ve seen you have more than a single beer a night, except for that first night when you didn’t expect me to come over.”
That said, Lee just sat there with Blaine, slowly sipping on her beer, just relaxing. When Blaine spoke again, Lee smiled at first, then laughed when he hinted that this might have been the only thing he had to drink. ”Not that I’m complaining at the moment, but we might want to fix that,” she said, smiling over at him. Then she leaned up to give him a kiss. ”I’m enjoying my time, too,” she finally whispered once she pulled back enough to speak.
"No one said you didn't. I was just saying I like our non-existent plans," he said lightly. "Eh, I tend to set limits for myself when I drink. I usually stop at two when I'm around you. Otherwise..." He stopped a moment and let his voice trail off; he knew they didn't really have secrets, but he didn't really want to go on. Even if he was sure he wouldn't have a choice.
"Yeah, I'm planning on restocking tomorrow," he said after the pause, hoping to change the subject. Then, she kissed him, and he kissed her back, smiling slightly as she pulled away. "I'm glad; I mean this physical stuff is mostly for you," he said, his voice lightly teasing.
Lee smiled. These ‘nonexistent plans’ of theirs were pretty nice as far as Lee was concerned. And the fact that they didn’t even have to discuss it before leaving the bar anymore, even that night with Blaine had felt earlier…
That did make Lee feel good about them, but it also made her pause for a moment. They had only been together a couple of weeks, and yet there had been no question in Blaine’s mind that she was going to come over to his place that night despite how upset he had been earlier.
Though he had practically said that he loved her. That was the kind of thing you did when you were in love, after all. Lee just smiled wider at that thought.
He set limits with his drinking? ”Why would you need to set limits like that?” Lee asked, confused. ”I mean, especially around me?”
And then Blaine started teasing. ”Oh, it’s for me, is it?” Lee asked, leaning further away from Blaine as she looked at her, the corner of her mouth twitching up. ”If that’s the case, I guess I shouldn’t make you suffer, should I?” As she finished speaking, Lee shifted slightly away from Blaine.
"Well..." he said quietly, "Let's just say I have this thing...usually when I drink more than three, I tend not to stop. Part of why I have all those locks on the door; that way when I get black-out drunk, I can't get out, can't hurt anybody, or myself. Though I haven't gotten that drunk since we got together. Used to be my after-work plans..." He let his voice trail off again, realizing that he may have been in quite the dark place for a long time.
"[color-slategray]Well, I mean, I like how you look all curled up next to me and what have you, but in the end, I wouldn't know you were there unless I was looking right at you. In that sense, it is kind of for you. Especially because I know how much you like it.[/color]"
Lee just sat and listened to Blaine as he explained why he stopped with two beers when he was with her. Because he tended to get blackout drunk. Lee frowned slightly, especially when he said that that tended to be his after work plan. ”Well, if you do ever want more than two, I’ll make sure you don’t get hurt,” Lee told Blaine gently. ”Plus, I’ll likely be drinking too, so unless you’ve really bought a lot of beer, I doubt we’ll be able to get that drunk.”
Lee had shifted away from Blaine slightly as she teased him, but he got serious again. That made it harder to continue the teasing. ”I do like it,” Lee said slowly, not moving closer yet. ”But I don’t have to so much if it is just for me. I am capable of sitting here without touching you constantly.”
"I appreciate that, but..." his voice trailed off yet again, this time growing darker as he continued speaking. "I'm not the nicest drunk, to my knowledge. I do know every time I wake up, I end up having to clean the place. Sometimes I'm covered in cuts, others, random bruises. But...I don't have to do that, anymore." He then smiled again. "But yeah, maybe drinking with you wouldn't be so bad."
The teasing made this situation more comfortable, and he looked at her more playfully. "Hey, I said it was mostly for you. I'm learning to get something out of it too, but it's not as simple as touch. But you liking it is enough for me." He took another sip of beer.
”Well, if you never have good company while you’re drinking, why would you have any reason to be nice?” Lee asked, an eyebrow raised again as she looked at Blaine. ”And don’t worry, do you think I’d actually let something like that happen to you if I can help it, whether we’re drinking or not?”
Then Lee smiled when Blaine mused that maybe drinking with her wouldn’t be so bad. ”Of course drinking with me wouldn’t so bad,” Lee said with a shake of her head, then smiled over at Blaine. ”What do you think we’re doing now? Adding another beer or two isn’t going to change this from being a good night, is it?”
Mostly for her? Lee nodded as she moved closer again, leaning against Blaine’s shoulder once more. ”Oh, you’re starting to get something out of this, are you?” Lee asked, turning her head to look up at him, the angle causing her to look at Blaine through her lashes. ”Anything in particular?”
"You're right. Besides, if push ever came to shove and I did for some reason get irate drunk around you, you could always just knock me out cold," he said with a smirk, despite his own remark being a slight blow to his pride. But hey, when mutations were in the mix, nothing was fair, was it?
When she looked up at him, he leaned down, giving her a gentle kiss. "Yeah...I kind of am, now. It's hard to explain. Even though I can't feel you here, it's nice knowing you're this close to me," he murmured. "I can smell, see, and hear you this close to me. That makes up for the sense I lack. I've learned to do that after you gave me that advice not long ago."
Lee just shook her head as she heard what Blaine said. ”Even if you wouldn’t actually feel it, I wouldn’t do that to you,” Lee said quietly. ”You’d sleep for the rest of the night, but I wouldn’t hit you.”
She looked up at him, and Blaine gave her a kiss. Lee couldn’t stop the smile from appearing on her face as he pulled back. ”I’m glad,” Lee murmured, still looking up at him. ”Because I do quite enjoy being this close to you. Even if all we’re doing is sitting here.
“That’s not to say I don’t enjoy when we’re doing more,” Lee continued, reaching her free hand out to let her fingers trail along Blaine’s arm.
