The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Celestina took a deep breath. He had asked her the d word. She said she would love to go on a date with him. She even said she considered this a date. Kind of, at least.
>> "What?"
She nodded, but perked a brow. What what? Did she say something not understandable? It seemed like it came out in proper English. Maybe it hadn't? Maybe she thought it had but it didn't? She was a little nervous, so maybe it was just quiet and muffled?
>> "I... am an idiot. I just-- You caught me off guard and you're so smart and funny and I like you."
Oh. He had heard her and understood. That was a relief. She smiled as she listened to him, her cheeks warm and her heart and stomach in a ditsy. How could he be that cute? She wasn't sure, but she was pretty much lost in him as she listened to Jude. The rest of the world didn't seem really important, not at the moment. After all, it was just her, him, and the ferris wheel cart. What a perfect combination.
>> "I like you."
She smiled and her skin tingled as she felt his free hand touch her skin. It was a good tingle, one that she could really get use to. Her eyes darted towards his lips before she looked into eyes. She leaned in, giving him a soft kiss. She leaned back, her cheeks very blushed. "And I like you," she whispered with a smile. She looked away, "Um, sorry... I-I don't know if that was okay, or soon, or whatever..." she muttered. Did she really just kiss him? She kicked herself mentally, hoping she didn't just screw things up.
She liked him. There was a rush in his ears. She was saying something else and he was sure it was important, but right now nothing else seemed possibly as important as the fact that she. liked. him.
His hand was already in place at her jawline. Maybe he was too eager. Before she'd finished moving her lips he pressed his against hers.
She, the smartest and coolest and most radiant girl, liked him.
Whatever she'd said about too soon was just a little too late.
Their seat rocked gently as the ferris wheel started moving again. Ah. Noooo. He'd wanted to be all smooth and romantic and wait until they at the apex of the cycle and... maybe just going with the flow was actually better than trying too hard to make it all perfect.
He did let her go eventually.
They both had to breathe.
He tipped his forehead against hers. Oh. Yeah. There were his nerves. "H-hey."
Celestina felt Jude’s hand on her jawline. It made her skin tingle, her body even shivered a little. She didn’t realize it entirely but she loved the feeling of him touching her. He moved in as she moved in. He wasn’t going to reject her. He wanted to kiss her just as much as she wanted to kiss him.
But then, their lips touched. She was kissing Jude, the cutest guy ever. She didn’t know how long they kissed but she kind of felt the seat begin to move. She didn’t want this feeling to end, well, ever.
But, he eventually pulled back. Celeste gave him a soft grin and let her forehead rest on his as she caught her breath. “H-hey you,” she whispered back to him.
The sun was setting. He knew because the apple of her smiling cheek was bathed in a neon glow and the ferris wheel lights had yet to kick on. He had to work with context clues since they were touching foreheads and he wasn't willing to let anything else take up his sight.
She liked him.
She'd definitely kissed back.
A thrill ran up his spine just because she said 'hey' back. Oh man. He had it bad. He'd forgotten what a rush it was to be liked.
"I like this." And he sealed that statement with a quick kiss. "We should make a habit of it." That too deserved his official seal of approval.
The ferris wheel started going down and their view of the sunset was uninterrupted by the other cars. Tempting, but nowhere near as engaging as Celestina.
Celeste couldn't believe what a wild ride her time in New York had been. She had been through the ringer but here it all came back. She was happy, she was happy being with Jude. Life was turning out good - better than she expected.
She took a deep breath, trying to process the kiss they just had. The feelings Jude gave her were... Amazing. Celeste couldn't even begin to describe the butterflies that went through her.
She smiled as he said he liked it - then he gave her a quick kiss. She gasped a little, the kiss sending waves down her again. She hoped she never got used to that feeling. "I like this too, Jude, so much." She gave a soft smile, "Definitely need to make this habit."
The Ferris Wheel was going down along with the sun. Celeste wasn't sure if there was a better day in her life.
