The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

They landed on the drill. Gawain had vague recollection that the mission was not going to go this easily; even though there were three of them instead of two, having eliminated an innocent redshirt from the picture, there was still a fight to be had. Gawain gave a heads up to Kirk and Sulu just in time so that they were not caught unaware; it would have been awkward to loose the captain because they changed the story, while Alice was so heroically... doing whatever the hell she was trying to do. Gawain glanced up, but could not see much, and then turned his attention back to punching people.
"Alice?" he tried the comm as he delivered a kick that staggered the enemy right into Kirk's elbow strike "How are things up there?"

How were things? Well a good quarter of the decks had been decompressed, their shields were holding on by a papers edge and the Romulan ship was gunning for them and them alone. It's like it knew they were the only ones who had guessed a strategy. "Oh we're doing fine boss, just dealing with a ship five times our size and two hundred years more advanced. Just, you know try not to get fried and I might be able to scratch this big.....thing."
Yeah comm discipline wasn't her strong suit but she doubted Gawain, or pike for that matter, would mind. She was a little busy freaking out about the people she'd kind of gotten killed, them being fictional be damned, and had a very upset vessel doing it's damnedest to scrub them from the sky. Which was still launching missile salvo's right at them.
Wait, the pattern hadn't changed since they'd been hit. They couldn't be that stupid. Right?
Well, with how the fleet was doing it was now or never. Another hit and they were screwed anyway, might as well do what gamers were best at. Clenching their teeth and downing a boss with only a sliver of health left. "Sir, I'm about to bring us in close. Have lasers and torpedoes hit these points at these times," fingers flying she sent the map and damage locations to his chair. "If we do it right we should be able to detonate one of their salvos on top of them."

Gawain did not hear much of what Alice was saying, given that she was in the middle of an imaginary, but very real firefight with other spaceships, and him and Kirk and SUlu were still getting rid of random enemy mobs on the drill surface. This, at least, Gawain was good at. They kicked and punched and tripped all of them off, and while it was likely that reinforcements would show soon, they had a moment to breath.
"We'll rig this thing to explode" Kirk stated "Tell someone up there to get ready to beam us up!"
"Alice?" Gawain called "Please tell me you have Chekov standing by to catch us..."

Before she could respond, or even think to try Chekov was running off mumbling something about being able to do it or something. "Well apparently he's on his way so you should be out of there soon. Just be careful when you get back up here, some of the decks have been vented." The slightly hysterical tone might have come across but the young nerd was determined to see this through. "And make sure to get Kirk back up here. We're gonna need him to finish this."
That she was pretty sure of. She was doing alright, good even given the situation but she wasn't the protagonist of this story and they needed both the brash James T. Kirk and the logical Mr Spock to find the weak point in the enemy. If the ship held out that long.
Which it didn't look like it was going too. The miss had been getting far too close each salvo and now it was all she could do to stop them grazing important systems. Every few rounds another deck was smashed open and more people lost to space. Each hit lost them power, speed, everything they needed to pull off the plan and the rest of the fleet faired worse. Maybe a dozen ships were even able to move, less than half of that in any shape to help them fight the behemoth they were getting hammered by. Worse any attempt to transmit the plan would tip the Romulans off and then they were screwed.
So it was up to their ship to do it. Somehow.
Slipping between one last bunch of missiles she had a chance. One tiny window to get into position for the shot. Sure the ship would get hit full force if she failed the timing by even half a second and yeah she might get Gawain killed along with her, depending on if he was on board or not, but she had to try.
If it worked, hell they might actually be able to give it a scratch. Hopefully. "Prepare phaser spread, at my mark."

Gawain knew it would be a near miracle if they got to live through the entire movie. The situation was hairy already, and there was no guarantee that either of them would have the luck of a core character, even if they were not wearing red uniforms. But Alice was determined to see it through, so the only thing Gawain could do was do his best to let her. If he died, they's both exit. End credits.

"They are gonna beam us up" Gawain told Kirk who was standing nearby "Get ready..."
The drill shook, and they tripped. Kirk went over first, and then Gawain, with a loud DAMMIT, grabbing for the captain. Even in free fall, they had to be easier to catch if they were attached, right?.... Right?....
"Any time now Chekov!!!"
Hitting the floor of the transport room was not comfortable. At all. Gawain grunted and rolled onto his back.
