The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Ignacio nodded his head, "yep! An acronym. Y'know, ah, each letter stands for something else," the teenager tried his best to explain. He hoped that helped with Chase's understanding, but he had a feeling that it didn't do much good.
He could also tell that Chase was getting frustrated with trying to understand the method behind the mathematics.
"What do you do?...You know-- your mutation! Whaddya do?"
That was a little out of left field, though Iggy was more than happy to answer his question, "Solar Absorbation. You?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.

Chase inclined his head at Ignacio’s response, arching his eyebrows. Solar Absorbation? What did that mean?
“Like a solar panel?” Chase pressed. If that was the case, what did he power? They usually put solar panels on buildings. Was he solar-powered? Like a plant? In science they talked about photosynthesis.
The shifter child grinned when the question was returned to him, and he announced, “I can look like other people!”
Always eager to show-off, the boy hopped to his feet, abandoning his math work.
"Hmm," Ignacio turned his head from side to side in thought. It wasn't exactly like a solar panel -- well, it was, but... "it's hard to explain, really. It would take me having to show you for you to understand." It was always best for others to see Iggy's powers for better understanding.
>>> “I can look like other people!”
Ignacio's eyes went wide. "You're a shape-shifter?! That's so cool!" Iggy clapped a couple of times out of pure joy and curiosity.
>>> “Do you have a wallet?”
"Yep!" Ignacio sat up in his chair just enough to take out his wallet that was in his right back pocket. It was still warm -- unnaturally warm -- even as he handed it to Chase.

The tween eagerly accepted the proffered wallet, taking it into both of his hands. He felt the warmth of the material, but this was parenthetical to the sudden sting of genetic information at his fingertips. It lapped at his hands. Chase let his tendrils go lax, like relaxing a clenched muscle. As soon as he let go, his grasp of the form slipped-- it expanded and stretched, tendrils pressing flat against the fabric of his clothes and concealing them, contorting in a new shape. Ignacio Ramirez, Age 17, Colombian-born... the facts surged through him as his skin lightened slightly. In a matter of moments, Ignacio's own doppelganger stood before him.
"Ta-da~" faux!Ignacio sang, smiling. Faux!Ignacio turned the wallet over in his hands, eyes contemplative, "I can't... do what you do... but I can look like you. Does that make sense?"
What did Ignaciou do, Chase asked the wallet? It offered very little, though there were burbles of memories regarding his mutation. Maybe if he was deeper into the shift... Faux!Ignacio plopped onto the couch.
Ignacio washed the transformation happen before his very eyes. Once the transformation was complete, the eighteen year old mutant started clapping and bouncing up and down in his seat. Seeing this up close and personal made Iggy very, very happy. The more he studied "flaux!Ignacio", the more he saw himself, the more he started to fall in love with his Latino beauty.
"It makes perfect sense! I love it!" Ignacio stood up from his chair and walked around flaux!Ignacio, looking himself up and down. "Oooh! I look good from all angles! No ugly sides at all." Iggy walked back in front of flaux!Ignacio and smiled widely. He then followed him to the couch and sat down next to him.

Faux!Ignacio grinned at the warm reception. Chase liked it when people liked his shifts. Better than when people were freaked-out by it. The real Ignacio took a seat beside his doppelganger, prodding him with questions and voicing his appreciatioin.
"Not very much," faux!Ignacio confessed, "I usually have to have something that belongs to someone else, if I want the shift to be easy." He held the wallet up for emphasis, "Otherwise it takes a lot of work... unless it's a practiced shift, that is." Faux!Ignacio glanced at the original.
"My... real face isn't even my real face at all," faux!Ignacio went on, "It's just one I practiced a lot... It's actually my brother's face. Well, my blood brother. I don't have a brother in my current family."
Maybe it was Ignacio's outgoing personality that was compelling Chase to overshare... sometimes that happened, as he shifted into someone else's frame of mind. If he was turning into someone more outgoing, he wouldn't be as guarded about his mutation-- typically, the human-shifter was veeeery guarded.
