The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Natalie looked around before she spoke. It was to be something that needed to be kept quiet. And she must have determined they were sufficiently away from people who could drop eaves because she spoke.
Creating a training simulation for new recruits. If they were needing both the Ranger and Natalie both to do the training it must be more than just Basic. He would have nodded but Natalie was leading the way. ”Just tell me what y’ need.” His tone indicating he was up for anything, not asking for specifics. She was making attempts to be semi-secretive so he would wait.
When they reached a first aid station the Ranger moved to open the door for Natalie, but she went and opened it for him. Gentlemen-blocked. He stepped through as Natalie explained how it would work. She’d set the dates and times and… Did she refer to Noel as an ankle biter?
Ranger turned to face Natalie as he took the gauze down and set it on a counter. She was looking away, this gave him a moment. She had just insulted Noel and by the look on her face it was a tame form of her thoughts about Noel. Normally this would demand an immediate reply, but Natalie was a member of the Inner Echelon. Only a single member, but still not someone he wanted to piss off.
”I’m sure Noel would be fine with that.” He said with a flatter tone than he had previously used. ”Just let me know when, where, an’ what y’ need me t’ do.” He had purposefully used Noel's name, as a way to distance himself from the name calling. He wanted to maintain professionalism in the face of such an attack. Though Natalie was poking the bear. He would only allow her to say so much should she continue.
The Ranger took wipes and began to wipe off the blood from his hand. Shouldn’t wrap a bloody hand. ”Is this goin’ t’ be one size fits all with the new recruits like Basic or are we gunna split ‘em based on what they can do comin’ in?” He wanted to have an idea of what he would be doing. He had never been an instructor when in the military, but he had been a cadre member during a round of selection for Delta Force. Which meant he was putting people through hell to separate the weak from the chaff. He had been involved in unofficial instruction since leaving the military though.
Natalie nodded curtly, noting the tone of his voice. It sounded like he was willing to do whatever she asked, even if it wasn’t your run of the mill sort of thing. ”I will. To start, we’ll probably want to assess the powers of the people that we have at our disposal and then start to work them a little harder.”
The thought of Noel still made her angry. The fact that she had helped her run free was still one of her biggest regrets in life, but there was nothing that she could do about it now. All that she could do was have a little fun insulting her.
The Ranger, surprisingly, caught her reference and got a little protective of his little pet. It was sort of commendable, actually. For whatever reason, he had a thing for women without brains and he was valiantly protecting her from the big bad lawyer lady, even though Lord knew that she could protect herself. At least Noel could be told that her action figure was a gentleman.
”I’ll be in touch,” Natalie nodded as she watched him bandage up his hand. He was a very strange man indeed. Skilled, strong, somewhat knowledgeable on a few things, but he had horrible taste in women. He was doing just fine bandaging his hand, though.
She paused for a second as she thought through how they would proceed with the training. She hadn’t really thought that far ahead yet, and she wasn’t really known for her tactical expertise. Natalie was out of her zone, trying to navigate her way through the strange world of training people with powers. All that she really had to draw on was her limited knowledge of how the army trained soldiers and memories of her private tutoring lessons.
”We’ll… start them off in a big group and then separate them into groups based their skill level. Maybe we’ll do some one-on-one work later down the line,” she decided. She had no idea whether or not it would work, but there was only one real way to find out.
The Ranger wrapped his hand. He looked to Natalie as she thought. She was the woman in charge but when she finally produced the idea it had a hitch at the start that told the Ranger it might be best for him to step in. ”That’s not a bad way of doin’ it. Almost military, everyone hits basic then goes t’ specialized schools.”
A few more wraps on the gauze while he thought abou it. This would likely run smoother if he just ran it. Leaning on his military experience to run the day to day. And allow it to be a day to day operation, no fitting it into her busy schedule.
”What about this.” Ranger said as he set down the gauze, his hand wrapped. ”Y’re busy an’ don’t have a lot of experience trainin’ people like this. Haven needs y’ t’ be a lawyer and a decision-maker. While I was brought in officially as a contractor t’ provide security y’ know I act in Haven’s interests well beyond the scope of that contract. Let me run the trainin’. I can handle the day t’ day matters an’ allow it t’ maintain a regular schedule. Y’ can take a supervisory role. I design the program and run it by y’ for approval. Instead of y’ attending the trainin’ I report t’ y’ on progress.”
He started putting everything back where he had retrieved it from. ”I can use CLASS t’ handle most of what we’d need my strength or y’r illusions f’r. When we do need y’r illusions we can schedule those sessions ahead of time. Or if I have another mission I need t’ run f’r Haven y’ can fill in or someone else from Blackforest.” Everything put away he turned back to Natalie and asked, ”How’s that sound?”
Natalie blinked at him. She really hadn’t considered the option that he was giving her.
She had assumed that the training, like most things in life, would need her to help facilitate it in order to make sure that it would run smoothly (and to ensure that no one was completely botching it), but there was always another option. The Ranger was offering to run it completely independent of her help. He would use CLASS and his military knowledge to do so, and she would have no need to get involved.
As good as it sounded to have no involvement with training Noel and the bug woman (ew), Natalie wasn’t as trusting as someone else in her situation may have been. She paused and crossed her arms over her chest as she jutted out a hip and studied him for a moment.
”I like the idea of not having to do the actual training,” she admitted. The man seemed to have a decent head on his shoulders, even if the accent buried some of the intelligence he clearly possessed. Plus, he had proven his skills already. It was just a matter of being willing to leave all those people to his mercy.
For another moment, she stayed still. Eventually, she came to a conclusion. ”I’ll attend the first few meetings, just to watch. From there, I’ll reassess whether or not I want to leave you in charge of that.” The answer was likely yes, but she wanted to make him sweat a bit. There would be no memory mancer funny business in those training sessions.
