The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

More than anything else, anger was washing over Malcom as he picked up on the man and what he was doing, his eyes narrowed towards the door. This was a tricky situation, where the people trying to harm his patient, or free him? And regardless would they try to harm the kids? He took a glance at Rianne and wandered how often she found herself in situations like this one, she was tense but under control. Colour him impressed.
Another spike of fear and confusion radiated from the area with the front desk. He grit his teeth and felt the emotions harden next to him, as Rianne drew her pistol he zoned her out and tried to wall off all of the fear and panic that was coming his way, noting that a lot of it was from the two young'uns that were with him he took a steadying breath and turned to the two of them. "Move back near the wall, stay calm. Everything will be fine, Officer Hunter here is well trained, she will help protect you. I'm sure there are more Officers on the way." He ordered and reassured in steadying voice.
He stood out of the Officer's way, but close enough to still maintain speech with her. "He's coming this way, one of them must have told him where Tony is." He whispered. It wasn't long before he could hear footsteps on the other side of the door.
Rianne’s radio was abuzz with what was happening. A fight at the van, a mutant in the hospital starting a rampage, and another fight was erupting at the other van behind the hospital. They really didn’t want Tony to remain in police custody. One would think they would at least wait until he had recovered some. Rianne wondered if they knew something the police didn’t.
Dr. Graves took care of the others who were in the room. Good job on his part. Rianne was preoccupied trying to gain situational awareness so that was a load off her plate. That accomplished he informed Rianne that the mutant was on the way. That was good to know. Most of the officers stationed in the hospital had headed out to assist at the vans or were down.
”Stay back.” It wasn’t forceful, or said in any way like a command. It was advice. ”He’s been melting through everything and I don’t want to lose the door.”
Moving to where she could direct her gun through the door as she opened it, Rianne took position. There she waited making a shushing sound to stave off any speaking. Her power engaged and she could hear sounds through the door. She heard the mutant approach. When his foot falls were right outside the door she flung it open and fired. Several times.
The mutant had his hand up and his power disintegrated the bullets.
Rianne dropped her sidearm, reached forward with both hands and took hold of the mutant by the arm and flung him bodily over herself. She followed him down and landed a knee in his back, arm with the glowing hand wrenched way up behind him. He howled in pain.
With one hand Rianne held the arm up, with her other she took hold of the man’s collar and used it to choke him out. He power gave her strength to resist his attempts to free himself.
The radio carried on. Another van arrived, a pair of men jumped out and were entering the hospital at the far end from where they now were..

The empathic Doctor felt all of the anger and nerves bustling from the man moving up to the door long before he reached it. He realised that this person was at least as nervous as those he'd freaked out with his displays of anger and power in the lobby. Deciding that this was probably because the assailant was being told to do this by somebody he was afraid of, Malcom became a little confused.
It didn't take long to snap out of this daze however, after Officer Hunter suggested that he stand further back, he complied, standing to one far side of the room. One fairly obvious mutant gangster entering the room later, Malcom flinched at the loud ringing out of the rounds being released from Hunter's handgun. God, he really detested violence.
He peaked around the door way to see Rianne pinning him to the ground. He was a little startled that it had happened so quickly. He turned his attention back to the room, looking at the two trainees staring dumbfounded through the doorway. "Get out of the way of the door and window!" He hissed to them, snapping them out of their impressed stupor.
Yes, Rianne was impressive, but it wouldn't due to have either of them getting riddled with bullets or crazy melty energy because they were standing around like lemons!
Dr. Graves took the initiative in taking care of the others who were in the room. He could keep a level head under stress, this was good. It also meant that Rianne was free to focus on the mutant she'd just manhandled.
When the mutant passed out from the blood choke, Rianne quickly pulled what looked like a large zip tie from her belt and used it to cuff the mutant's hands together. They held his hands close enough that he couldn't use his power on them to free himself. Add the fact he was cuffed behind his back and she was now cuffing his ankles the mutant wouldn't be melting through anything more than the floor anytime soon.
The mutant cuffed she shit the door again. Then retrieved her pistol from the floor and holstered it.
Her radio continued to provide information. Officers had apprehended the individuals from one of the vans. There was a firefight going on at the second. The men from the third were making their way through the hospital. Many of the nurses had managed to get to safety, blessedly. This meant they would have a hard time figuring out where Tony was. The officers inside were coordinating to stop them.
Rianne was to stay put. She was the last line of defense for the doctors in her room. And the last line of defense to keep Tony in custody.
Looking around, Rianne searched for something to barricade the door. If they could hold out until the outside was secured she could evacuate the doctors through the windows. Thankfully, these nicer rooms had nice furniture for guests. Rianne grabbed a couch and quickly shoved it across the room to block the door. It was nice and heavy, better for their purposes and not an issue for Rianne. Her power made it easy.
This was their Alamo, but this time the Texan would triumph.
"Whatever comes through the door, just stay behind me."
Without a doubt the pair were mutants, it was just a matter of what they could do.
