The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Jack could see that they were winding down. The bear started towards her (and Jack was fully ready to whack it with the frying pan), but its legs failed it and the bear toppled, scarfing something down on the floor. The prawn leaned forward, ascertaining that it was, in fact, food, and not a fellow student. The crocodile-thing, all the while, had backed into the corner, and was glancing around the kitchen wildly. Not. Attacking. The clanging frying pan was silenced.
“Listen u’, you two,” the prawn bellowed, panting from the strain of continuously shouting. Her voice felt raw, but there was still two apex predators in the kitchen, “I need you to return to your hu-nan sha’es. None uz diss alt sorn sh**. Return to nor-nal. Can you hear nee?”
“Crocodile,” Jack said to the giant crocodilian creature, “Can you hear nee? Un-shist. Dis is o’er and done wiss.”
Jack could say neither “polar” nor “bear” intelligibly, so she opted for, “Ey, Snow’all… Are you listening? Un-shist.”
Yeah, she went with Snowball. Hopefully they got it. Either way they’d be in deep trouble, but she couldn’t haul them to the office if they didn’t fit through the door.

Aoi could hear Chief and had almost established complete control. She hoped she had enough food in her system to make the change occur. The lobster mutant was right, she needed to come back to humanity. Still looking around she could see her and the other mutant had done considerable damage.
She glanced one more at the crocodile mutant to make sure he or she was under control. She forced thoughts like being tossed out of the school from her mind. Stress would not help here at all. Aoi did everything she could to block the rest of the kitchen out as she prepared for the change.
She flet herself drop like she was in freefell. To anyone outside it would of looked as though the adult bear had changed into a cub. A moment later the hair began to retreat into her skin and her face began to rearrange itself in a process she knew should have hurt but somehow did not. Powers could be tough to understand.
She opened her eyes, a look of horror etched onto her face. "No...no" she said taking a step back and suddenly recalling she put her hands over her private areas as a deep red tint covered her face. She really wished she could shift clothing as well but it had never worked out, normally it just wound up completely shredded.
Had Aoi been more full, the bear might have tried to come out and play again, her terror and nerves were so high. This was the second time this had happened. While the first time had been in japan against her sister when they were both bears but this was not much better. She tried to hold back her tears but succeeded only it hiding back her sniffling. Her eyes betrayed her however letting her fearful tears flow.

She felt ashamed of her actions, ashamed of losing control so completely. This had never happened before, even at the very beginning when she was just learning what it was to be a mutant with powers. She was supposed to be better than this, not just some feral ruled by the instincts of the forms she inhabited. Usually, she was better than this.
The bear also seemed to be regaining control of itself and had found something to eat. Was that what this whole thing had been about? It being hungry and her being in its way? How had things spiraled so quickly and so completely? And to have her new friend Jack there to stop the madness only served to make things worse. What would she think of her now? Her actions were unforgivable.
Despite her growing despair and guilt, she was much more in control of herself and, deciding it was best to listen to the prawn lady, triggered a shift back. Pain momentarily ripped through her body as bones contorted and scales and feathers retreated back into pale, smooth flesh. The crocodile was no more and in its place stood a small, ashamed mutant girl.
"I'm so sorry," she whispered, looking around at the carnage. The gash on her face was deep and continued to leek blood, even in this form although due to her unique physiology it was all ready starting to stop. Her ribs hurt abominably and a quick glance down revealed extensive bruising.
Amber glanced in the direction of the bear to see an Asian girl in its place. Another mutant. Of course. "I'm so sorry." She apologized to the girl directly. She turned to Jack next. "Did I hurt anyone?" She made no attempt to cover her body in shame or otherwise acknowledge the fact that she was standing in the middle of the ruined kitchen, naked.
The transformations were something to behold… exceptional… the prawn had only transformed once, and spent a majority of the process drifting in and out of consciousness. To see it happen so instantaneously… A small, scared girl took the place of the snarling bear, stammering “no” and buck naked. In the other corner, an equally-naked Amber. Great.
Jack hastily peeled off her button-up shirt, handing it towards the silver-haired kid. The kid was almost an entire three feet shorter than her, so the shirt would likely for her like a dress.
“You can change ut-stairs,” the prawn said gently, “I'll walk you two utt.”
Of course there'd be consequences, but they had time to change clothes first.
Underneath the button-up was a t-shirt, which was also peeled-off. This was passed towards Amber.
>> "Did I hurt anyone?"
”Don't sink so,” the prawn mumbled, “Watch out sore 'roken glass.”
A small group of onlookers was gathering, so the prawn bellowed at one of the nearest one's.
“No one go in dere or you'll all get detention,” Jack growled, “I'n taking deez two to get changed and go to Doc’ross. Understand?”
“I'll make sure everyone stays out,” one of the older students avowed.
“Alright,” Jack said gently, gesturing to the two young ladies (who were hopefully wriggling into the proffered shirts, “Let's go.”
Though the prawn stood shirtless in the doorway of the kitchen, she was too preoccupied with handling collateral to feel self-conscious. A primary hands grabbed a roll of paper towels, to mop up blood seeping from any wounds. Her secondary hands, all the while, stretched now that they were free.

Aoi had no idea if it was shock or what not but she realized she was bleeding from her hand and the wound the crocodile had given her came flooding back to her. It wa sodd she was not feeling pain. Still she quietly put the offered shirt on and suppressed an urge to mention she was hungry. The transformation process always left her hungry and drained for some reason.
She let the older mutant bound her wound with the paper towels which rapidly turned red. "Thankfully i think the only harm is to us" she said knowing how far she had been lost to the bear. She knew she could not have stopped the bear from eating a student for most of the fight.
she would let the prawn direct her where to go. Aoi said little as images played back in her mind of both this and last time. She was going to hurt someone some day, she knew it and not like amber who could apparently take it but someone who would have no chance against her. It was her biggest fear and in fact why she was even here. Their was no way she could be aloud to change near normal people, humans. "i umm heard a young lady blew the kitchen up once" she said softly trying to mitigate the trouble she knew she was in.

Shame was the emotion she felt the most, not because she was unclothed but because she had lost control, done a lot of damage and almost hurt those she had no right or reason to hurt. She looked towards the other girl, who looked just as crestfallen as she felt with an added level of red due to her own nakedness. Jack handed the girl a shirt, which was probably for the best and a moment later she was handed a shirt of her own. Probably not the best time to explain that her clothes were just outside and instead she put the offered article of clothing on mutely.
"I'm glad no one got hurt." Despite the tumult of emotions, her voice was steady. Maybe she should just leave again, go back to the woods where there was no risk of accidentally hurting others. Part of her knew she was being overly dramatic. Everyone was allowed to make mistakes, right? As long as they learned from them. This was the first and hopefully only time she'd let this happen. In the future, it was clearly safer to experiment with new forms well away from other humans or mutants. Especially other mutants.
Following Jack's lead, Amber grabbed some paper towel as well and began using it to address her wounds. The bleeding was all ready beginning to slow due to the unique nature of her blood. Even serious wounds rarely bled for long because her blood was so thick and viscous. Infection was still a potential problem, of course, but she'd deal with that when she was alone. The pain of the wounds were sharp but, given her experience with pain, relatively easily ignored.
Once both her own wounds and the other girl's were tended to, she spoke. "I'm ready to face my punishment." Whatever it was, she deserved it.
Jack quietly ushered the two girls out of the kitchen, trailing behind them down the hallway. The white-haired child announced that someone else had once blown-up the kitchen.
“I don’t doubt it,” the prawn said offhandedly, her gaze flicking towards the girl, “She likely got in trou’le too… es’ecially iss she was sighting a-nuzzer stu’ent.”
Her voice wasn’t accusatory, but faintly warm. Just because it’d happened before, didn’t mean it was okay now. And while property damage was egregious, the bigger issue at-hand was that two students had been at each others’ throats. Come to think of it… the girls were tending to their own wounds… perhaps a visit to DocProf was more urgent than changing clothes.
“Change uzz ‘lans, go see Doc’ross sirst,” the prawn said, “Clothes second. Den see ‘rinci’al.”
Thankfully, visiting the doctor did not mean changing the route they were headed. Jack herded the two of them towards the nurse’s office, pushing the door open so that the girls could step inside. The three were promptly greeted by the DocProf.
“Hello?” Jack asked uncertainly.
“Jack!” a voice sang back. The prawn tensed. She didn’t recall meeting DocProf before. This man knew too much.
“Doc,” Jack echoed, “Got sun kids you need to see.”
The DocProf emerged from his office, the smile fading from his face when he spied the two bedraggled young women and the half-dressed prawn.
“Oh my goodness, come in, come in,” he said urgently, ushering them in, “I’ll see to these injuries at once.”
He didn’t bother asking how the injuries had occurred—his mutation would reveal that in good time.
“Can I use your sone?” Jack asked, “I need to talk to Ruddy.”
“By all means,” DocProf insisted, before turning his attention to the girls.
