The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Rianne smile widened as Cait complimented how she looked. She didn't need people's approval of how she looked, but it was always nice when someone paid it a compliment. "We'll just have to find you something that does look good. And maybe get you out to the gym with me sometime. Anyone can get arms like these if they put in the work." She loved taking people to the gym with her. Helping people realize their own strength and surpass what they thought possible was fulfilling in a way.
When Cait fired a text back Rianne laughed. She wasn't sure how the girl could abuse her number, but she could bet if anyone oould Cait could.
"It might be possible. I recommend tequila." Rianne held up and moved around her margarita in example before drinking more.
Now it would be Rianne's turn to select the song. She sucked down the last of her margarita as fast as she could without giving herself a brain freeze. Then she was off her bar stool.
The problem with duets is that they either heavily favor one person or are a love song. Rianne had no problem with a love song, she could have fun singing and dancing to it on the stage without feeling awkward about singing to her new friend. "Pretty much every duet I can think of is a love song. That work? I can maybe find something else if it is."

"Going to the gym with you would be epic. It's always more fun working out when there's someone else there with you." While she might get a decent amount of training at the base, nothing beat a well stocked gym, a good workout playlist and a less, fighty, feel to the exercise. "I would be so up for that and don't worry, hard work I can do."
Tequila was not a good drink for her. Scotch, vodka even bourbon she could drink for hours but tequila seemed to slam her straight into drunk far too quickly. "Unless you want me giggling like a lunatic for thirty minutes, keep anything with tequila in away. Last time I had it, I woke up in my friends bed half naked." Thank got Pat was so understanding. "I'd have been more worried but I wasn't exactly his type," she added, hoping she wasn't giving him too much of a bad reputation at the moment.
Downing her beer and following Rianne up to the stage, having to weave in between a few fairly drunk patrons. Some would make comments as she passed, but she wasn't letting boozed up people annoy her, she was having too much fun.
Now that they talked for a little, it shouldn't be too awkward to do a duet. They were a laugh to sing and she had to be honest, they were basically designed for karaoke. "I'm more than up for a love song. I've had that drink after all so professing my love via music seems right," she joked, happy to get more time sing with her new friend. "As long as we have fun, I'm happy with anything you chose."
”Just let me know when works for you and be ready to not be able to move afterwards. I do high intensity full body workouts twice a week. Thirty to forty minutes of nonstop lifting then sprinting until you can’t run anymore.” And if you can still lift anything on the way home you didn’t work hard enough.
Rianne laughed out loud at Cait’s previous experience with tequila. ”Maybe you’d better not have tequila then.” She said as she moved her margarita closer to herself as if Cait was going to steal it. ”As much fun as that sounds, we don’t need you up on that stage half dressed.”
As long as they had fun, Cait was okay with whatever. That made the selection easier. The only duet that was fun that wasn’t a love song that came to mind was “For The First Time in Forever” from Frozen, and that song was three quarters one person. That wouldn’t do.
Rianne skimmed the list of songs that were available and produced a short list for Cait. Wouldn’t do if she was unfamiliar with the song. “You're The One That I Want” From Grease, “Love is an Open Door” from Frozen, “Highway Don’t Care” by Tim McGraw and Taylor Swift, and the last while not as fun of a song it is one she absolutely adored “Oh Tonight” by Josh Abbott Band.

That work out sounded brutal, and awesome. "I don't usually get as much weight training as I'd like, it's going to be so awesome having someone experienced showing me how it's done." Cait wasn't exactly weak, but most of her exercise was cardio training, with some weights thrown in for good measure. And sparring. So much sparring.
"As much of an amazing show it'd give these guys, I think I keep my jeans on and tequila undrank." God the hangover had sucked as well, it had taken so much greasy food to get her functional again. It was not something she would repeat. Putting on a cheeky grin she added, "Besides, I can't be getting a bad reputation with you....yet."
Rianne had a very good choices of songs and she was so tempted to take the Frozen song simply becauseof how much she loved the film. She'd have loved to sing it but considering the choices, she just had to go for Grease. The musical nerd in her just wouldn't let her not give it a try. "I have to go for Grease, it's just so perfect. It's one of my favourite musicals as well." She had spent many nights sitting up with friends doing marathons of old musicals, when she couldn't drag them in for horror films.
"Which part would you prefer? I can do either from heart." Of the two of them, she had to admit Rianne looked way more feminine than her right now. High heels and a dress just cannot be beaten when it comes to women's clothes. "Although I will say, with the hair and the dress, you make a killer Sandy."

"Just remember that when we get to the gym. It'll be the hardest hour you've ever had." At least as far as working out was concerned. Rianne didn't mess around or pull any punches. To keep up with the boys at work she hit it hard.
Getting a bad reputation with you yet? Well, that was interesting.
Cait must be one hell of a riot to be around. Rianne might need to watch herself around Cait. Don't get too swept away in the fun and wind up in a situation she shouldn't be in. For now though everything was fine. Bring on the singing and dancing! "They haven't earned that kind of a show yet anyway. You're the only one who's done so much as bought either of us a drink." She joked. "I guess I'll just have to have all the tequila then. Darn." She snapped her finger.
Out of the songs Rianne picked for the short list, Cait picked the one from Grease. And Rianne couldn't argue, it was perfect. Which part did she prefer? Like Cait, Rianne could sing either part. Though, Cait did have a point about Rianne being a killer Sandy. "She's got big hair and pants at the end of the show." she brushed her fingers across the skirt of her dress. "But I got the heels here so I'll be Sandy." She smiled. She'd wanted to be Sandy anyway.
Rianne procured the the mics. As she handed one to Cait she said,"I better see you're best John Travolta dancing." She smiled and took the stage.
She wondered if Cait could sing and dance at the same time? She'd done well enough to Hakuna Matata, but this song was more fun with spinning and other fun dancing bits in it. She would be by no means surprised if she could. She seemed the type.
The music started and Rianne turned to Cait. She mimed a cigarette in her hand and said, "Tell me about it, stud."

"I'm sure I'll somehow live knowing about your brave sacrifice on that front," she joked, happy to be spending a good time with someone new. "If the night continues I might have to start on the scotch though, if just to keep up. Beer just wouldn't have the kick." So many of her friends had learned how high her tolerance could really get, especially the ones that kept trying to drink her under the table. It was cute in a way, but it's hard to argue with a Scottish constitution.
This, would be epic. Karaoke was good. Karaoke with songs from old musicals, a bad American accent and all the movies from the show was amazing. "I'm more than happy to be Travolta. Guy could pull of a pair of skinny jeans."
Taking the mic, she returned the grin. "That's exactly the plan. It just isn't Grease without the awkward moves." Before the music could start, she got the barman to throw her the coat she'd come in with. The flair was definitely needed for the song. She just hoped she could get it back at the end of their performance.
Dramatically turning with the music and putting on a surprised face she started the show, "Sandy!?" Rianne miming the actions only spurred her on, got her more into the act. Stripping off the coat she'd only just put back on, flicking it into the crowd and singing, "I've got chills..."
God she loved musicals. The campy songs and over the top dancing was just pure fun. Hoping she wasn't too bad, or miss stepping too often, she just enjoyed it, even dropping her voice a bit.
It was decided. Cait was Danny and Rianne would be Sandy. And what's more, Cait was game for the awkward dance moves! This would be so much fun. It was already a fun song, but if your partner was really into it it could be the absolute most fun.
Cait procured a coat that she could put on just to take off. Rianne didn't bring one that night so she couldn't do the same. That would be alright though. Instead of removing a jacket she stood hands on her hips as Cait started into the song.
The highlights began immediately. Rianne looked at the crowd like a deer in headlights before mock tossing a cigarette to the ground to crush under her foot. " You better shape up..." she pushed against Cait with one heel and turned to walk on the stage. There wasn't a ton of room, but enough.
Thanks to years of dancing, everything she did was on beat. Walking, skipping, spinning, the weird hip movements. Everything. She also wasn't afraid to put her arm on to dance with and get close to Cait. having just enough room between their faces for a microphone was necessary for the role. There was even a wall for her to lean on and pose.
If only there were stairs on the stage.
During a moment she wasn't singing as they approached the end of the song she moved the microphone away from her face and asked, "Think you can hold me?" This was where them reversing the rolls might have worked better. Rianne knew she could keep Cait up like Danny held up Sandy near the end.
If she said yes she would without hesitation jump onto Cait.

Rianne was so getting into the moves, which only egged the Scot on more with the actions. Every weird thrust and awkward leg movement all came out on time, even the looks on her face matched the movie. This was so much damn fun.
Grinning as the heel pushed her back, transferring it into the momentum for hers moves, this was her turf. She might not be the best dancer, but a musicians natural timing and hours of watching musicals like this saw her through. Gave a good performance for the gathered, mostly drunk mass as well, which only boosted her enjoyment levels. Making people happy was so awesome.
Pretending to crawl up some stairs and, if she was being honest, checking out Rianne in the process, "You're the on that I want," slipped out a little out of accent. Hard to argue with how good she looked on stage, and how well she was moving. She must have had some training in the past, right?
Catch her? Probably, she was stronger than she looked.
"Go for, I can hold you for long enough." Sure she might not lift huge amounts, but she had a pretty high level of fitness, and had been combat training for about four years. This she could do.
Readying her muscles and waiting for the jump, this would be such an amazing end to the set. The energy in the room was just so perfect for it.
It was amazing that Cait was getting into it with Rianne. Otherwise she would be up on the stage looking silly. Them both being so into it made it a show. There was a point where Rianne wasn't sure if Cait was a great actress or actually checking her out.
Cait gave the green light. They'd have an amazing closer to the song. Transitioning from hands on her hips while she shook them to throwing her hands out "Oo-oo-oo, the one I need. Oh, yes, indeed." She lept on 'indeed'. Wrapping her legs around Cait and holding her behind her neck. While her subcompact pistol would not be visible to the audience in its thigh holster, there was no way Cait wouldn't feel something against her side.
The song wound down and Rianne dropped down from Cait. Make sure the dress hadn't decided to give people a show, then because dress, curtsied before moving to leave the stage still walking as if to the beat. "That was amazing! Too much fun!" She said to Cait.

OK, she might be strong, but when Rianne jumped on her, it very nearly made her crumble. They were pretty much the same size, but Christ she must be well built. Spinning and continuing to sing "I'm the one that you want," Cait was so glad this wasn't going to take long. It didn't help that, from the feel of it, her new cop friend was armed. It dug in at just the wrong place too.
Letting Rianne down and taking a theatrical bow to the audience, she followed the bouncy officer off the stage. "I couldn't agree more, that was the best song I've done in a while." She had always just watched musicals, and barring the 'performances' she and her friends put on when they gathered for a girls night in with some movies, this was the first time she'd actually done the songs for a crowd. It was pretty liberating, honestly and having someone as awesome as Rianne made it so much better.
Cait headed over to the bar, stopping along the way to retrieve her jacket from a very nice, if very drunk older lady who'd caught it. She even thanked the Scot for the performance. It was so sweet. Like the drink she wanted to buy right now. "Drinks? A fruity cocktail seems just about right considering the atmosphere."
Cait had said she could do it. And to her credit, she managed to support Rianne for the remainder of the song. Rianne could tell it was a bit of a struggle though. Props to Cait. While the two women were close in size, Rianne was mostly muscle.
”I honestly think that was the best karaoke song I’ve ever been a part of!”
After how well that last song went, and the very positive audience reaction, Rianne was practically bouncing. It was very infrequent that she was able to just let loose and have a good time like that. It was a great change of pace. Sure she would unwind after work or on weekends, and often that meant dancing, but it was not normally so over the top.
Fruity cocktails were not normally her choice, but she couldn’t argue with Cait’s thoughts on the atmosphere. ”Yes. You pick I pay?” Outside of margaritas Rianne wasn’t a big consumer of fruity drinks. Cait seemed the type to know what was good though.

That had been epic. Cait wasn't definitely not going to forget this evening, it was one of the best nights out she'd had in a long time. It's like they were feeding off each others energy, really able to just cut loose and just have fun. God what would working out with her be like? She had a feeling Rianne might push her harder than even Becca or Agnes could, she was just so much fun to hangout with.
"Sounds good. Fair warning though, it will be the sweet, sugary and kick like a horse." For supposedly 'girly' drinks cocktails had of alcohol in them. Picking a pair of very nice drinks she'd had in the past, "I think Mai Tai's will go great after that performance."
Taking her new drink and reveling in the taste, the sweet fruit and glorious rum, she wondered why Rianne was armed even on a night out. Then again, if she could get away with keeping her knives with her she would. To many times she had to fall back on her power and it wasn't exactly subtle.
"So, at the end of the song, couldn't help but notice something, unless you were just pleased to see me." She left her voice light and joking. Cait didn't have an issue with guns and from the sounds of her job, Rianne seemed as good a person as any to have one on them.
Sweet, sugary, and kick like a horse? Not normally what Rianne would go with, but Cait was all about it. So why not? "Oh, Mai Tai's! Yes, not a usual drink for me but you're right, they'll go perfect after than performance." Cait placed the order and Rianne had the bartender put them on her tab.
Rianne grabbed her drink and took a sip. Sugary was right. Normally a beer, whiskey, and tequila girl she didn't go in too often for rum. It was delicious though. Cait clearly had good taste. Rianne took another sip and almost snorted Mai Tai out her nose when Cait next spoke.
"...unless you were just pleased to see me."
It took Rianne a moment to recover. Finally controlling her laughing she said, "You do get a girl all excited sayin' they're the one that you want." She suppressed some more laughter. "But I'm afraid it was just my off duty carry. Even when off duty I can't help myself from being the sheepdog." Then as an afterthought, "It didn't dig in too bad did it?"

Cait couldn't help but grin at Rianne's sputtering from her little joke, it was always nice being on the other side of that, not that she often was. Great that she could run with a joke as well, have a little fun with it. Yeah, there wasn't a chance she was letting Rianne get away without being her friend now. They had a bond now, forged in the fires of Grease. Nothing was stronger.
"Oh it was fine, don't worry. I get why you'd want to keep it on you. Some jobs are 24/7 aren't they?" Cait respected her commitment to doing right, to helping people. If ever there was a safe person to be carrying a gun around it'd be someone with her training.
"It's really cool though, that you feel that way I mean. Not many want that kind of responsibility, especially nowadays with how bad stuff is." Everyday it felt like the city was getting more unstable, and not just from random mutant attacks or the disappearances among them that were getting more common. Something was wrong, the weather had been acting freaky and some weird stuff had been popping up in different parts of the city. "It's pretty reassuring knowing that karaoke cop is on the case though," she added with a cheeky smile.
"A lot of jobs you do something, this one one where you are something." You can turn off the heightened awareness and aggression, but you can't turn off what made you go into law enforcement in the first place. "If you ask my captain though he might tell you he wished we could work twenty-five hours a day."
Rianne took a sip of her drink. A sip that she didn't risk propelling from her nose. "That's exactly why I feel the way I do. The worse things get the more needed I am. I can't not help." And the worse things get the more her job in particular becomes necessary. As an SRT officer she was the closest this city had to ‘One Riot, One Ranger.’
Rianne laughed at, “karaoke cop.”
”I have been getting all the best nicknames lately.... Karaoke Cop, Constable Barbie.” The agent who’d given her the latter name she felt she’d given him a good one too. Or at the very least, one that he wouldn’t like getting around. ”I should get hats with them embroidered on them. Ones that look like what I wear as part of my tactical uniform.” She couldn’t help using her hands to mime the hat and reference where the name would be written.
