Jayden had been scouting her target for the past week. Her last big score had been a pawn shop which had mixed results. On the positive, she had come away with well over $10000, but on the negative the owner had turned out to be a mutant and it took the help of another mutant, Xavia, for her to get away with her hide intact. Neither one of those things were going to happen again, if she had anything to say about it.
One of the first things purchased with her score had been a new laptop. Her computer skills a little rusty at first, it didn't take long to re-learn. With skills touched up, she proceeded to research to find the most ideal mark for her next steal. Jason Striver was a trust fund kid with a known hatred of mutants. Rumoured to be high up in a well known anti-mutant club, nothing had been definitively proven. What was known was that he had a lot of money and was vocal about his dislike of mutants. He was exactly the type of score she was looking for.
It was a little more challenging to track down where he lived and some of his routines but she eventually managed that, too. Keeping to the shadows at night, she had spent long hours scouting his place of residence to find out when his routines, when he was usually home, when he wasn't and what the best ways to enter and exit his place were. Tonight he was supposed to be at a benefits gala and so tonight she would make her attack.
Parking her bike, another recent acquisition, a few blocks away, Jayden walked into the vicinity of her target. Just before the mansion was in sight, her covered herself in night black scales and manifested cat claws on all her fingers. She knew he normally left a window open on the third floor, erroneously assuming no one would be able to enter that high up. He was about to be proven wrong.
