The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

She blinked at him slowly, not really understanding what exactly he was saying. Yeah, it was a little off bring it up here of all places... but what else was she supposed to talk about? Her revenge plots? How worried she'd been about him? She sat up abruptly, lifting her hands like she was physically waving away his offer to help.
Whatever that had meant.
"Woah, no. That's not what I meant. I just thought it was a neat thing to finally mention, considering the fact that there isn't much else to talk about right now." She braced her hands on either side of her on the chair, "I won't need any help getting started. It's kinda like apprenticeship... almost. All I need to do is offer my services to someone who won't mind someone fresh out of classes, build up a portfolio of my work, and in a few years I can apply for a more in depth certificate." She paused slightly and pursed her lips. "Assuming I have any intention of perusing this any further than a side hobby, or course. I'm not exactly doing bad as it is with my current carrier."
She smiled a little, hoping to ease some of the tension.
"...But, that's something for later I guess." She leaned in again. "How about to give me a list of things you'd like me to sneak in for you for the rest of your time here? Hospital food is pretty awful."
Suddenly, there was a ruckus from outside Saph's room door. Shouting could be heard, as well as stern, slightly panicked voices, which were all quickly growing closer to the room.
"-old you, i'm his FREAKIN' daughter you prejudice #$%hats!"
A short scuffle broke out shortly before the door to the room was harshly thrown open, and a very miffed looking teen stormed on in. She pointed one finger at Saph as she rounded on him, "YOU!"
Shelby sank into her chair, attempting to lean her way out of potential danger.
"You get #$%^&in' SHOT and are gone for TWO DAYS and all you can muster is a @#%^in' TEXT to let me know you ain't DEAD?!" She slammed her hands on the safety bar attached to the side of the bed, which buckled and dropped to the side.
A flushed, red in the face pair of nurses stood just inside the doorway, unsure of how to proceed.
"... Uh... s-sorry, sir. She was... erm.. rather insistent that she see you.."
The Native turned on Shelby next, angling another pointed finger her way. The artist squeaked and leaned back further.
He blinked as she reacted a bit strangely. "Uh... Just sayin I could prolly help, is all. You know, I could get you in touch with a detective that needs help, or something. It's cool if you wanna do it yourself, too." He shrugged.
He grinned as she mentioned secreting him some not hospital food. "... A dog... I... Ahem... Uh...Seattle style." He looked around a bit to make sure no New Yorkers heard that...
That was when the ruckus started. He knew who it was way before the doors slammed open. When Elke burst in, he was smiling a bit with his arms crossed in front of his wounded chest.
"You get #$%^&in' SHOT and are gone for TWO DAYS and all you can muster is a @#%^in' TEXT to let me know you ain't DEAD?!"
"Great to see you too, Moose."
The nurse apologized for her presence, and he genuinely looked surprised. "What, you can't see the family resemblance?" He chuckled, and waved the nurses and security off.
While he was doing this, she turned on Shelby.
As he pondered how to maneuver this conversation without them both turning on him at some point, he couldn't help but smile to himself. It was a great time to be alive.
