The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Aura knew many would buy Ambrose at his word as most had no reason to doubt him. Aura had had a close talk with the man where he had mentioned his plan to kill everyone. Aura was angry and frustrated, the kind of Angry that usually resulted in a pile of dead humans. She was convinced Ambrose would hurt their people and they had to protect Mutantkind. She almost missed sight of a very familiar person from the old days coming down off a fire escape. She smiled perhaps she had found the type of person she was looking for.
With a smile she began moving in the direction, her hair was red and cut at her mid back and secured in a ponytail. "Seyta?" She asked wanting to make sure her mind was not playing tricks on her. Still Seyta had been a member of the now defunct order. Aura had tried to lead but things had fallen apart and then the Metabots had gotten fierce about hunting her for some odd reason. She did not say her name, but enough of her aura materialized around her where she knew she would not have to say anything. Announcing her name this close to the announcement she figured might result is bad consequences.
She had left Sanctuary for that reason, other mutants were getting hurt, because she was being hunted. Now she rarely kept the same address twice and was moving around the city to throw off pursuit as well as strike out at Ambrose's company where she could. She had made a few scientists dissopear on that front.
Seyta dropped the last few feet from the fire escape. With a stretch she relaxed her mind and did her best to look casual as she walked away from the rally. No need to do anything suspicious...yet.
>> "Seyta?"
Purely on reflex she withdrew her mind. She had yet to meet anyone who knew her, and having learned of the Orders demise hearing her own name was not a positive. Whoever was looking for her would now really try hard to follow her.
Without looking to see who it was that called. Seyta stepped back into the alley towards the fire escape she had just descended. There wasn’t anything to really hide her from view but with her back to the wall Seyta simply needed to watch the street until whoever it was came around the corner. Her mutation would do the hard work. The Ka-bar in her hand would deal with any complications.
The woman vanished from Aura's view and AUra swore several times under her breath. She knew Seyta's power but had no resistance to it. Aura wanted contact with former Order members and Seyta had been the first she had encountered in a weeks.
As she hit the Alleyway her aura turned on out of relfex a thin see through pink coating. She had a lot of enemy's in the alleyways and while Seyta's powers allowed the option of escape Aura tended to have to fight, or as often chose to.
She had no idea if Seyta was there or not, for all she knew the woman could have been shadowing her or had long gone. SHe looked over at a plywood covered window about her height and her Aura began to shape a knife of her knuckle. With a series of quick slashes Aura made a rough but very recognizable symbol, the symbol of the Order.
Seyta held her breath as she waited. An attack this close to Jaager’s announcement was not a good idea. Winning the fight wouldn’t be much of an issue, cleaning up afterwards would be. There was more than enough security around to have a sweep come through this alley at any time. Idiots like the sniper on the roof where one thing. An armed guard patrol with a possible META or adapted? More than she could handle so this needed to end quickly.
A moment later a woman ducked into the alley. A clear pink aura surrounded her. Seyta tensed, something about her was familiar, but she couldn’t place it. The woman looked around for a moment before the pink substance formed a knife and carved the order symbol into a boarded up window.
Aura… Seyta’s eyes snapped wide as she recognized the other member. “Aura! Oh god Aura!” Tears streamed down her cheeks as Seyta flung herself against Aura, arms wrapping around her in a hug. “It… It’s really you?” Seyta’s knees went weak as sobbing over took her, her arms unwilling to let go.
She smiled as she turned around. It had worked, Seyta had remained and the symbol had made her come out of hiding. She had liked Seyta back then, it had certainly been awhile since she had encountered the mutant however.
SHe had barely turned around and caught sight of Seyta when she wrapped her arms around her, while the aura that surrounded her. The aura surface was smooth to the touch and felt entirely solid but nothing like skin. A moment later Aura made her aura fade entirely allowing Seyta to actually touch her.
She hugged the other woman back, her hand running down her back settling at the small. "It is me old friend" she said not having had a woman crying in her arms Since her relationship with Ally. "It's ok my friend" she tried to comfort the other woman without fully understanding the issue. Aura's brain considered to widely different options, shell shock or Love......Aura quickly dismissed both. "So...are you ok?" she asked biting her lip softly feeling her skin tingle.
Seyta simply clung tighter feeling the aura fade away. Someone else was alive. Someone else made it. Was it coincidence? Fate? It didn’t matter how or why. Aura had made it through the attack, maybe others did to.
>> "So...are you ok?"
Seyta nodded, then shook her head. Not that Aura could easily tell since Seyta had her tear stained face buried on her shoulder, still sobbing silently. Seyta took several deep breaths between the sobs, forcing her mind to relax a bit. She was sure Aura would loose her if she let go, but perhaps they could talk like this.
“No… Nothing is ok...” She gave Aura a tight squeeze before leaning back to see her face. “The world ended… The dream ended. I left and then the order ended. Nothing is ok now.”
AUra kept her grip on the other woman as she cried. The dream she recalled that strange dream,it had been weird disorienting for her as well. Still she had seemed to discard the events better they Seyta who was obviously still very moved by them. The orders fate Aura felt some responsibility for.
She looked back into Seyta's eyes. "The order is dead yes, i tried to preserve it in the end, but i am no Leader. We just drifted apart, people went their own ways. By the time of the attack the order was dead in all but name." she said her voice sounding a bit bitter about the orders dead.
She herself had gone south into Texas to track down a few wide ranging scientists Ragnarok had on their pay roll. The Mutant hunting robots the police employed played a big role as well. She had been fighting they daily for a few weeks before she decided Sanctuary was best without her.
"What matters is not the order but that we continue to help our people" she went on, placing her other hand on Seyta's shoulder.
>> "What matters is not the order but that we continue to help our people."
Seyta listened, carefully focusing on her breathing so she didn’t withdraw her mind and freak Aura out. So Aura had tried to lead but it didn’t work out. The Order as a whole dissolved before the attack. This meant there where other members.
That meant they weren’t dead. Seyta brought one arm around to wipe the tears away. It was at that moment she remembered the knife in her hand. Her knuckles had gone white from gripping the hilt so hard. Putting the blade back in its sheath Seyta tentatively took a step away from Aura. With a grip back on her emotions Seyta could keep her mind relaxed enough to hold a normal conversation. No real risk of Aura forgetting and wandering off. Hopefully.
“We help them by pulling together. I… I left a calling card for any other members back at Sanctuary.” She forced a smile, a small plan starting to form in her head. Seyta wasn’t exactly a leader either, but possibly with Aura the two of them could make up the difference. “Just a message with our symbol telling them to stay safe. Lisa and the new janitor Devon have a number to call. They also know to call me Geist now.”
"A good plan, we will need more people though and we will need to find somewhere to house our selfs. Sanctuary is not likely to want us there considering what it has become" she said, letting Seyta pull away from her. Sanctuary would attract to much attention in her opinion and endanger those who swelled within it.
"Geist huh? I'll try and remember that" she said knowing she had a half decent chance at doing it. It was short which helped. SHe would have to ask Seyta what a geist was at a later time.
"What do we want out of this New order? I for one would like to stop acting like a thug. Make a difference for our kind, a solid impact" she said thoughtfully, hopefully. "DO you know of ragnarok?" she asked not sure how much Giest knew about the current issues their people faced.
"I have a significant amount of money if we need it" she said recalling the hidden accounts Abyss had given her. AUra had also hidden monsy after her encounter with Ambrose.
>> "Sanctuary is not likely to want us there considering what it has become"
That was a very valid point. Seyta was bouncing from one abandoned building to the next. One or two people could operate like that but not an organization. She could find one of them that was possible to renovate though.
>> "What do we want out of this New order? I for one would like to stop acting like a thug. Make a difference for our kind, a solid impact"
Another fair point. Her main goal had been surviving the last few weeks. What was her plan if Devon of Lisa had called her? “Avoiding things like Mr. Jaager just proposed. I only know the rumors about what happened years ago in the camps. But it sounds like He wants to make a big one with a target on it.” Seyta leaned against the wall thinking for a moment before a genuine smile crossed her lips. “Why should we be corralled into some ‘special nation’? Mutation is evolution right? And since Evolution is natural, then nature had already decided our course of action. Become the next dominant species.”
>> "DO you know of Ragnarok?"
Seyta shrugged. “Some street gang as far as I know. Graffiti and such, but very wide spread. Unusually so.” Cults back in Salem worked mostly like non-violent street gangs. Each keeping to themselves, with the occasional scuffle over who was a member with who. None of them covered a large area like Ragnarok did though. She had seen their trademark R from one end of the city to the other.
>> "I have a significant amount of money if we need it"
Funding was also good to have. Most importantly to obtain a place to live and work out of. “That would be helpful. I’m still living on the streets here. I almost like it. I just wish it was easier to get a good shower.”
"Mr Jaager wants to see the entire world die so he can rebuild it. Getting so many of our kind into a concentrated area does seem a prelude to something terrible. You know the kind of points he would score with the humans for such a mass killing of us as well" she said bitterly, looking around to make sure they were still alone. Utopia sounded so beautiful and yet she could only see the trap, a trap she wanted to fall into but knew doing so mighr doom her people. "The demon even works on a cure to strip us of our powers forever" Aura said with clear disgust. She had raided several such facility over the past months, though she knew their progress was likely kept so that she could never wipe it out, she could slow it down.
"Our people are desperate and most of them don't want the crimson stains that are on the hands of those like us. Many will go this Utopia from all over the world. Some will remain however and the question becomes who do we help? We could fill the power vacuum here that will be made by mutants heading to Utopia. Or we could try and take Utopia for our selfs by killing it's leader or making him obey" she said with a smile and the brief appearance of an axe on her fist.
"Let me get a ride, we have much to discuss my Lovely friend and this might not be the best place to talk of killing a man or strategy. I know a good place we could go. It has hot water and a shower " she said considering the security that was around. "Unless you got a better plan? " she asked not wanting to place assumptions on the woman, but she still pulled a black cell phone out and sent a quick text.
>> ”...We could fill the power vacuum here that will be made by mutants heading to Utopia. Or we could try and take Utopia for our selfs by killing it's leader or making him obey."
Seyta listened quietly. There where many options. Each with their own advantaged and challenges. What they had to do was act though. All the planning in the world did nothing without action.
>> "Let me get a ride, we have much to discuss my Lovely friend and this might not be the best place to talk of killing a man or strategy. I know a good place we could go. It has hot water and a shower. Unless you got a better plan? "
The thought of a shower thrilled Seyta. As well as being somewhere safe. The METAs would be patrolling any moment now and she wanted to be at the nearest far away place as she could be. “As long as we can grab my things first… I left them stashed in an alley a few blocks down.”
"Sure we have a few minutes before he gets here" she said considering their location. She sent a second text to a friend after and smirked. He never liked when she brought people home, not that he had a choice in the matter. He had been one of the last people Aura still extorted from Lori's old insurance scheme, only it had evolved into something more.
It had not occurred to her Seyta had been living on the street. It was hard Aura knew, not that she had lived on the street in years but she still recalled coming back to new york city. She had been zealous, ready to die for her cause and ignorant.
She would follow Geist to her her stuff, staying close. "You need help with anything?" she asked not sure how much or what Giest had. "This place i know if we plan to use it for more then just a few of us, we may need to re negotiate my deal with the owner. " she said with a smile that said they could take what they wanted. Still Aura wanted to avoid naming the place until she had to.
"I had lori retain a driver from the order for me, Guy can make illusion copies of himself but only within 50 yards of himself. " she said making small talk as she they walked back toward where the car would be waiting for them.
>> "Sure we have a few minutes before he gets here."
With a smile Seyta took the lead, heading to where she hoped had been a safe place to hide her few belongings. Luck was on her side this day as the vent was undisturbed.
>> "You need help with anything?"
She shook her head kneeling next to the grate. “Nah. Just a duffel bag and my violin.” With a slight grunt she slid the grate out of place and reached into the duct work. Funny, she had seen spy movies where people crawled through these vents. In real life her stuff, much smaller that Seyta herself, barely fit.
>> "This place i know if we plan to use it for more then just a few of us, we may need to re negotiate my deal with the owner. "
“Seems like we are all set then.” Slinging her duffel bag and violin over each shoulder Seyta followed Aura back towards the street. Somehow it wasn’t a surprise that Aura had connections of some kind. The Order had been very well organized and ran multiple crime rings back in the day. There was no way for their enemies to track down every potential connection.
>> "I had lori retain a driver from the order for me, Guy can make illusion copies of himself but only within 50 yards of himself. "
Another connection. What was the phrase, hind sight is always twenty-twenty? Perhaps Seyta could have been better off had she played a bigger part in the Order, or if she had stayed in New York. “So, where are we going? Not Sanctuary, somewhere less obvious?”
Aura smiled slightly. "Yea our presence wound endanger people at Sanctuary to much. she said shaking her head and recalling the reason she left sanctuary. A lot of people wanted Aura dead or in chains and so her presence tended to cause problems. Their were the metabots as well who were hunting her and the Mrc, not to mention most gangs around new york city wanted her dead do to her habit of using those gangs as training dummies.
She glanced down at her phone as it shook slightly indicating the driver had arrived."It's a country club, noisier then i would like and...humans, but so far no one knowes i have been living there. Well the owner knowes but he is quite convinced i know a young female mutant who can blow herself up. I neglected to mention i have not seen kaitlyn is some time. " she said having shown the man the image of a flower shop which after Aura, Amber and Kaitlyn had visited as been the sight of several murders, an explosion and the place burning down.
"He also watches the news saw my trial a while back and is very a where i know his children's movements. " she said as she made her way back the way they had come. ANyone who had seen the trial knew several things Aura had been convicted as the the likely cause of over 1000 deaths and much to her laywers horror. Aura had mentioned this missed a few.
A discreet blue car sat waiting the front seats taken up by what looked very much like identical twins. The windows themselves were tinted and bulletproof. Aura wonderd what it would be like not to get shot at so much a she slippe dinto the car and slid over to let Seyta sit.
