Mizuki is 12 and turns into a 1000 lb polar bear.
She could use a few threads to help get her established. She is going to be spending a lot of time in/near the mansion. Since she has little control over her power and it's tied to her fight or flight reflex a lot of fun can be had with a sudden hungry polar bear which mizuki can't quite control.
She is also new to America in general and being a mutant and has no real idea how to control her power.
Meetup in the alley works. I can even have Darkshift appear 'beary' to make things fun. Although the polar part of polar bear might not translate so well with her fur being black.

it's entirely possible to meet out on the streets in both cases. however you would likely see her in polar bear mode in thoses cases. I can have her about to attack somone that darkshift can save.
Alva could encounter Mizuki on the streets, when mizuki goes back to human she does not keep her clothing which may attract attention
