Character Personality: They consider themselves to be a collection of things, that act together as a person. While this is not actually true, that's what they think. When in disguise they also use we instead of I to blur their identity. Some of their defining traits is their inability to back down. Of someone wanted a fight, they damn well got one. They are very open about her mutant identity. They aren't very compassionate, not really being able to empathise with people that chose not to fight back. They are loyal to their friends, but first and foremost comes survival. They wouldn't sacrifice you to save themselves but neither would they go back and save you. The one exception to that is a ragged old cat that they found on the streets. Hobbies/ Interests: Unsurprisingly they enjoy reading and learning new things. This extends to exploring, they dislike being stuck in one place too long Job or part time job and description: None Fears/ phobias/ concerns: Major fear of fire, even just seeing an image of fire would freak them the hell out. Special talents: They are good as working out how things work. They can grasp how a device works after a bit of tinkering and examining of it.
Morality Good/ bad/ neutral/ other: Other, at this point in time their life has been torn down and they are very much just looking to survive.
Mutations Mutation description: Overview Their body has been replaced with a homogeneous mass of paper. Each paper is a perfectly square shape but they vary in size. Some are as large as 10cm wide, while others are mere millimetres. This allows for a couple of different abilities as well as some alterations, which are detailed below Shapeshifting Each square is able to fold itself into a different shape, when every sheet works in conjunction they can shapeshift into a multitude of different shapes. As coordinating all of it would be extremely hard it's mostly handled by their subconscious. While they can control an individual sheet if they wish, most commonly they imagine the shape they wish to take in their mind. Shapes that they have used recently are easier to take as they already know how to fold themselves in that way. Common shapes, or ones with not much variation are also much quicker to form. Shapes that are highly complex (eg, a 5’th iteration Menger Sponge) or highly different (eg, a giant lockpick) are much slower to happen. The latter two taking as much as an hour to turn into. Another limitation is that they cannot detach anything. The whole mass may be reshaped but must all remain attached to each other. Hardening In addition to this they can also harden one or more sheets. When a sheet is hardened it can't be altered. Hardening is a reversible process, but while happens almost instantly it takes between two and three minutes to undo. Hardened paper is comparable to high-carbon steel in both stiffness and hardness. It is still just as vulnerable to water and fire however. Bodily Fluids and Needs Due to being made of paper they don't have any bodily fluids, their needs however still exist in an altered form. They still experience hunger, but their food is paper. They eat paper, which is used to repair damage. They get hungry faster than humans but still maintain a standard healing rate. Sleep is still essential and they still get tired. When asleep, their body shape is that of a featureless humanoid shape. This is the same as when unconscious. Damage They don't feel pain. Instead they feel a sense of extreme fundamental loss. This sense gets larger the more sheets they lose. It's not restricted to only the area where the the sheets were lost. Sheets are lost by having them damaged, ie waterlogged, burned, ripped and so on. No one area is more important than another. Killing them is achieved by destroying ⅘ of their body mass. Everyday movement also wears down the sheets, meaning that they don't feel tired but rather that they feel their version of pain. Strengths: Being a homogeneous mass, stabbing them in the head or the leg would have the same effect. They are also harder to kill because of the amount of mass you need to destroy. Weaknesses and Limitations: Unfortunately they are still made of paper, and so fire and water, are big problems. Even a simple rainstorm can be lethal if it goes on for too long. Shapeshifting takes time and mass can't simply be added or lost when Shapeshifting.
Physical Abilities General Physical Capabilities: Below average for most, they are not very strong at actually lifting something but they can support a lot of weight by turning themselves solid Fighting Style: They turn bits of themselves into weapons and use that to fight. Fighting Style Pros/Cons: It takes time to prepare, but the weapons can't be used against them easily History Of Your Character Born in Australia and being a mutant don't really mix. Thankfully Themba wasn't born with visible mutant features. No, rather they appeared when at the age of 12. From then on, their life went from generic normal child, to freak. Muto. It's no surprise then that the rest of their life was not very nice. As her skin and body slowly began to morph the insults and threats got worse. Then they became physical. After accidentally stabbing a kid in a fight at age 14, they stopped going to school. Their best companion became a young kitten they found on the streets and rescued. The climax was a mere week ago, their house was firebombed and both their parents were killed. They managed to survive by virtue of not being at home. It took them two days to obtain a ticket to NYC and one more to leave. Now they have just arrived in NYC with nothing but some money, uncomfortable memories and a disgruntled cat.
Roleplay Where did you learn about this site?: The almighty Google. (Praise be to Alphabet) Do you have any other characters on MRO, if so who: None! Sample RP: (If they became a super-stealth-ninja-assassin-warrior-mutant-person)
Nabia crept through the trees. Her target had become lax in pruning the plants in the forest behind his house, something that would become his downfall. A guard passed below and she froze, yes it was dark and yes she was hard to see, but if they looked up… The guard scanned around and radioed in his position before walking off. Nabia breathed a sigh of relief. If he had spotted her it would have been trivial to drop out the tree, stab him in the neck and scuttle off. It was just a pain to climb back up.
Approaching the house now she climbed out as far on the limb as she could and then turned her gaze inwards. Picturing her body in her mind she imagined it softening, spreading out like water, to fall from the tree and hit the ground silently. After a couple of minutes she felt her arms sag and deform. Her legs melted away until she flopped off the branch and hit the ground with a soft splat. Pulling herself back together she looked around for the back door and- Wait a second, her target didn't have children. Not was her target supposed to be looking at her. Oh damn, she hadn't had she? Yup, this was the wrong house, the targets was two down. And now she had just plopped out of the sky in front of this random person. “Oh balls”
