The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

You may be wondering how Danny got into a situation like this again.
You may also be wondering whether it was because he'd gotten into a stupid fight he couldn't win. Again.
Or you just may not care, period, in which case I'm going to explain anyway.
Danny was not lying in an incinerated mess of what used to be a small loading dock that was still burning because he had done something blatantly idiotic - well, that was still debatable. But no, not a fight. He was in this sad, sad position because of a goddamn motherf**king cat. He was trying to save it from being run over by a rampant forklift in the empty wharf after it decided to smash ALL the buttons on the panel, and Danny, who happened to be strolling through the same wharf, ended up taking the hit instead.
The cat survived. Danny did not.
And now he had set private property on fire. Again.
Well, it wasn't as if he was conscious enough to care, at the moment. He'd kind of been shish-kebabed, and that kind of injury took a while to heal. It was kind of sad that Danny now unconsciously wore his nicer shirts only when leaving his apartment for under twenty minutes at a time.
But as he lay facedown on the asphalt, the back of his shirt torn open and drenched with blood, any nearby observer could see that the wound was very literally knitting itself back together, even though the body it was on was still technically dead.
Only for another minute or two, though. And then he'd get up and find that goddamn cat. What would he do then? Good question, and the answer was probably nothing. His life was too sad already to spend a small part of it berating a cat.
Feel free to go for killshots. I don't mind - but you probably will. Danny speaks in flame red.
Aura glowed with her aura as she moved swiftly across the docking area, her prey a pair of men who were surprisingly fast. Aura needed information however and kept moving, they found an open dopor and shut it behind them, Aura removed the wooden door from it's hinges with a literal Hammer blow. The two men had convinced themselves the door would save them, instead Aura dispatched the pair quickly and silently. Not because of trying for stealth but because people screamed less without heads.
Then came the fire, she had no idea who or what started it but the wharf went up very quickly. The fog cloaked the smoke from the flames as well which Aura was grateful for. She turned around but the way was blocked with fire. The flames themselves would not harm her but the heat certainly would burn her.
She heard a meow and her head sharply looked torward the sound but Aura reminded herself she had no time to eat. Following the sound thinking maybe the cat knew a way out she came into the main portion of the place and saw someone impaled. " Coroner might suspect me on this was and i did not even do it this time" she said with a laugh.
As she got closer Aura, began to run. She saw the flesh knitting itself back together and two importent things came to her mind. The first was they were a mutant and secound he was alive. Surrounded but her transparent pink Aura she knelt next to guy. "I am Aura, i will aide you, can you stand?" she said concern evident in her voice even as she reached to pick the guy up.
As he started to wake up, Danny became very aware of flames flickering very close to him and the fact that somebody was near his formerly dead body.
Oh, shoot. He didn't want to have to waste time saving a concerned bystander and then explaining that no, the forklift? That was just a flesh wound, didn't hurt a bit, his torn shirt and all that blood was just from a scratch.
Except then he started to make out words, and though the concern was evident in her voice, she seemed a little bit like she had some ulterior intentions for helping a very obvious mutant in the middle of a very much on fire wharf.
"- Aura... aid you, can... stand?" He shook his head to try and clear the post-rebirth fuzz as he rolled over, wincing as he smelled the very strong stench of random crap burning. The woman - Aura, was it? - was helping him up, and he let her with little resistance, still trying to clear the ringing in his head. It was a wonder he hadn't burned yet - actually, he probably had, but it had likely healed while he was still dead.
"Uh, Da - Firebird," he muttered, shaking his head again. "Firebird. My name's Firebird." Well, first time he'd used that name in a while, but she seemed to be using a codename too. And he could faintly see a sort of purplish glow around her, so he would assume that was the aura her name referred too. "Um, thanks for the offer, but, uh - I'm assuming you aren't quite as resilient as me, and so you probably want to get out before you burn? I'll be fine." Truth be told, he was slightly worried because she was an unidentified mutant in the middle of an abandoned wharf in the late evening, which was very shady already. Now, Danny had been here to save a cat. He kind of doubted that she had intentions which were similarly chivalrous.
In truth Aura was a bit more worried about the police then the fire. Whatever the mutation this was certainly seemed resilient. Firebird seemed an appropriate choice given the circumstances and she had to wonder if he had just made that up."Against Heat, no." she said coughing a bit from the smoke. The same tiny holes in her aura that let breath let smoke and water in as well. Looking around she could see their as debreigh in the way but nothing she felt she could not handle.
"Besides the police would assume you were guilty of this. Are you guilty of this?" she said as she formed a sword from her free hand and cut a plank in half, it still burned but now it was no longer blocking the path. "You will be lucky if they don't just throw you away" she said urging him along with her, unsure of just how able her new friend was.
"You some sort of fast healer or something?" she asked looking at him curiously. Aura knew with a glance his wounds would have killed anyone else, including herself. "I manipulate my aura by shape and hardness" she saif gesturing to the broken plant that had blocked the path.
"Against Heat, no," Aura said, and Danny presumed she was referring to what her aura protected her from - in fact, smoke did seem to be drifting into her general vicinity, judging by the fact that she was coughing. "Besides the police would assume you were guilty of this. Are you guilty of this?" Er, no comment on that one. Not yet, at least. And lovely. Now she was trying to help him out, and yes, she was kind of helping. What was it with him and having to get saved by other people lately? "You will be lucky if they don't just throw you away," she commented as she sliced away at some debris with a sword that appeared out of nowhere. It seemed as if she had simply created it from the purple haze around her. "You some sort of fast healer or something? I manipulate my aura by shape and hardness." Oh, lovely, now they were sharing mutations. Should he really say anything, though? Eh, no big deal. Not like he could die.
"Yeah, something like that," Danny muttered in response to the "fast healer" comment. "I'm immortal. Can't die. But when I do, I explode and this -" he gestured to their general vicinity "- happens. And then I come back to life. So yes, kind of guilty of this, but really, it was that damned cat's fault."
Yeah, he sounded kind of delirious. Wasn't helping his case at all, he presumed.
"But really, thanks. You didn't really have to -" And suddenly, he stopped himself a frowned. "Speaking of which. What were you doing here, anyway? It's a pretty much abandoned wharf in the middle of a pretty much empty part of town." Whatever the reason was, Danny wasn't going to judge. He was, in all actuality, legitimately curious.
Feel free to go for killshots. I don't mind - but you probably will. Danny speaks in flame red.
"Immortal....well that's handy and awesome" she said briefly imagining herself with such a power. The exploding was a nice addition to the immortal thing. The sheer destruction she would have caused would have been gorgeous. "I Like cat's they taste good" Aura said casually. In truth it had been quite some time since Aura had indulged in such act's but she reasoned she could much more easily then catching them herself as she had done in the past.
"Hunting Human supremacists, unsavory characters tend to hide in such area's after all" she said actually referring just as much to herself as anyone else in the area.
"i protect Our kind, it's humans i despise" she said without going into to much detail. This guy looked to be like Katelyn was and Aura could see potential in such power. It was easy enough to find a use for someone who was basicly a living bomb. "The blood of a lot of people are on my hands' she went on even as she split another beam in two with a quick downward stroke.
"Immortal....well that's handy and awesome." Maybe to mortals, it was, but to him, it was, frankly, the source of more existential crises than was probably healthy. Not like he could do anything about it, though. Her next sentence, though, made Danny stop in his tracks and pause. "I Like cat's they taste good." ...um? Okay? Danny wasn't judging, considering he'd had to eat some pretty shitty things in the past, considering American Revolution-era America wasn't all too sanitary. But nowadays? Ew. Rabies. "Hunting Human supremacists, unsavory characters tend to hide in such area's after all" So that was what she was doing in the middle of an abandoned wharf, and it sure was suspicious. But he'd killed people too, so once again, he was in no position to judge. "i protect Our kind, it's humans i despise. The blood of a lot of people are on my hands." Lovely. So he was safe. He didn't entirely see the point of mutant supremacists, though - as in, what was it supposed to accomplish? Killing one who believed strongly in a cause there were other supporters of would only make them into a martyr. Times had changed since the days that martyrs had been commonplace, though, so maybe killing people was a good method nowadays. Rule through fear and whatnot.
The dock was still burning, though, even as Aura slashed through debris to get the two out. Danny's balance was slowly returning to him, and by this point, he didn't need somebody's assistance in walking without falling over. He made an affirmative noise to her prior comments, and then said, not rudely, "Er, I can walk now." Even so, he had no way of helping the two of them get out of this situation, considering his mutation would kind of just make it worse. So since he knew he really wasn't in any real danger, and she seemed like she could handle herself, he decided to continue the conversation. "So, um. Mutant supremacy. Are you part of the Sanctuary then? I was there a while ago in a, um, not quite intact state. But then, I can't really do much without being in a not quite intact state."
Feel free to go for killshots. I don't mind - but you probably will. Danny speaks in flame red.
She let the guy go as he requested and after seeing he would not fall, she used the Aura around her other hand to form an axe. Her strike against dry wall tore through it like paper and she forced her way through the hole she created. SHe looked at another room, while not on fire it did have smoke near the ceiling. She passed a desk and casually cut the keyboard in two, a long with the roll out keyboard tray.
"I am, they helped me when no one else would. " she said honestly even as she smiled. This room had a window and that meant open air. The window itself was small sos he would need to make room. Forming a chainsaw on her right hand and a hammer with the other she began to tear through the cheaply made wall with efficient speed though she was coughing more and each time she did her aura flickered just a bit.
"Interesting....we all have our purpose, mine is simply as a solider, a tool to ensure Our people live on. Nature's gifts are meant to help us, strengthen us for our road." she said even as thick glass smashed as the chainsaw struck it from below sending glass bouncing off of her aura.
As she pushed her way out of the building she looked back at the other Mutant. Oh how she would have loved to grow up with a friend who could not die. It would have been heavenly. "You have no idea how much i would have paid for a friend who could not die growing up" she said honestly, coughing a few more times as she looked up at the building.
