The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

His grin widened, ”Challenges are how I keep myself alive!” Sam said taking another sip of his whiskey to match her own sip. Sam first pointed to his eye patch, ”Everyday is a challenge when you’re me!” Sam said as made a point to look from Sveta then back to the whiskey as he picked it up again and then to the bottle as he grabbed it with his other hand to pour more into the glass. He then looked to the counter set down the bottle then looked back up to Sveta like he just pulled off the worlds biggest trick. ”One eye.” he nodded his head like it was the most amazing thing in the world.
Sam then strut from the counter to the bed where Sveta was sitting and he smirked, ”I mean if you don’t like a challenge.” Sam said as he sat on the bed next to her and sipped his whiskey, ”I understand challenges aren’t for everyone.” Sam said continuing as he leaned in for a kiss hoping he wasn’t reading any of the signals wrong. If he was she could have just as easily pushed him away. A thin layer of ice coated his lips the way they used to when he was was dating Arisa who could kill with a kiss. That seemed to be enough to prevent any of the symptoms that went along with being dead so maybe it would weaken her skin to skin contact power? Either way Sam was curious now.
>>”Challenges are how I keep myself alive! Everyday is a challenge when you’re me!... One eye.”
Sveta rolled - both of her - eyes once again, and finished off her drink. She was feeling the buzz now, warming through her limbs and numbing the pain of various bruises and scratches. It wasn't enough to make her head swim - she could hold her liquor - but it definitely made the situation more interesting.
"Yeah, I can imagine you are a challenge."
>>”I mean if you don’t like a challenge. I understand challenges aren’t for everyone.”
She didn't even notice at first what he was doing, until he leaned towards her. It had been... fairly long since she had kissed anyone outside of a life-or-death battle situation. She instinctively leaned back and away, the movement made more prominent by her buzzed state, before she realized what he was doing, ice and all.
Well, that was an interesting idea.
She already knew that barriers worked. She also knew that her powers had a radius, which would probably keep the neighbors from getting frostbite if something did go wrong. But still, this was rather...
Whatever.
She let him press his lips against hers for a few seconds. The ice coating was cold, but not painfully so. She broke the contact fairly quickly, leaning back and looking for signs of impending frozen doom.

Sam’s sixth sense was active when he closed his eye to kiss Sveta, she happened to move back slightly for a second and before Sam could pull away she went in to finish the kiss. The kiss only lasted a second but it was nice. Not as nice as her kissing him up on the roof but this situation wasn’t life or death meaning she didn’t have to kiss him. Maybe she wanted to kiss him then too? Sam started to smirk when Sveta pulled away and looked about the room.
Ice still only coated his lips and as far as the temperature drop went it was no more than it had done before he kissed her. Her body temperature however seem to radiate a bit more. Sam wasn’t sure if it was because of the kiss or because they well, warming things up either way she seemed to be glowing. His own body temperature seemed to cool a bit out of reaction one he became aware of instantly he liked it. ”See, wasn’t so bad was it?” Sam asked with a smirk as he raised her a glass.
Sam adjusted his body temperature back to normal her proximity did increase his powers, but for now it was enough for him to still maintain his control over everything other than his sixth sense but being blinded by the body heat of the blonde was something he was okay with.
Sam took another sip of his glass and leaned in towards her again, ”No one was hurt yet. Guess that wasn’t just enough yet huh?” Sam said with a smile.
No, it really wasn't. Wasn't really anything, other than an experiment to see whether she would break him, although she had no doubt he would prove to be a good kisser, just based on experience. She felt the temperature drop around them as the kiss ended, and watched for signs of things getting out of hand. Sam didn't seem worried at all.
>>”No one was hurt yet. Guess that wasn’t just enough yet huh?”
Instead of coming up with a witty answer, Sveta leaned in again and planted a kiss on him, this time making sure it was a good one. It was pretty good too, even with her multitasking: She counted out the seconds in her head until she was sure she had reached the limit of her boosting power. This time she pulled back further, not quite sure what she could expect to see. Good thing she still had her jacket on.

Again, her body radiated a reddish glow the more she kissed him the longer the kiss lasted the brighter the glow until Sam had to focus on his normal senses his sixth sense was getting to the point where it would have been giving him a headache if he continued to focus on it. Luckily for Sam he was pretty drunk at this point so any sign of a headache would be drowned out by the copious amount of whiskey in his system. When she pulled away again Sam smirked again, she was looking around for a sign that they should stop.
To Sam there wasn’t really any sign, other than the sixth sense. His good eye however started to glow slightly a brighter shade of blue while the room temperature dropped enough for his breath to be seen. Maybe that was what she was waiting for. Even in his drunken state his mind was already starting to counter the temperature drop his eye however he wasn’t really aware of. Maybe there was a little skin-to-skin contact enough to make it colder before he realized? A little more of the thin layer of ice coated the area around his lips and this time inside his mouth as well, just in case she was the type to use a little tongue.
Sam smirked again, ”Better kisser than I thought you’d be.” Sam said nodding his head and taking a sip of his glass before he looked back at Sveta hoping she’d want to continue to kiss him. ”Made it sound like you weren’t too experienced with it.” Sam let out a quick laugh then snapped his fingers, ”Think this is going to make it difficult to work with each other now?” he leaned in for another.
Temperature dropped again, and she noticed him having extra ice around his lips now. His eye was also glowing a brighter blue, which was kind of fascinating to see. He did not seem to mind either at all. Sveta exhaled, her breath forming a little puff of steam.
>>”Better kisser than I thought you’d be. Made it sound like you weren’t too experienced with it.”
"I was trained to be a good wife, and I already knew how to cook." she said curtly, shutting down the conversation before it went to dangerous territory. Like, past boyfriends. The ones she actually liked. Like Jude. She did have a lot of practice with kissing.
>>”Think this is going to make it difficult to work with each other now?”
"Vat, vigilantes with benefits?" she smirked, finishing her vodka and setting the glass on the floor "I'm not on de books anyway. And I'm not going to date you."
Maybe both of them needed to blow off a little steam.

Sam made sure not ask what the training to be a ‘good’ wife was like. It might have been the way she said it but he couldn’t help but laugh a little. Cooking however, that would be something he’d be interested in seeing. When she responded to him with words instead of more kissing Sam shook his head, ”Whoa, never said anything about dating!” Sam said shaking his hand reiterating the point. ”Not… that there is anything wrong with you or dating with you, just…” Sam looked at her glass on the floor then looked to his own and chugged the rest trying to keep his mouth from running some more.
Jumping up and almost falling back Sam caught his balance and then strut once again to the counter to grab his bottle of whiskey. If he was going to be on the bed he might as well stay there before she wised up. ”Another?” Sam asked grabbing both bottles by the neck and walking back over to the bed. Setting the vodka down and filling his own up, ”Vigilantes with benefits…. No dates…” Sam nodded his head, ”I can do that.”
He filled up his glass some more, ”Doesn’t mean you’ll get a raise though just because I’m the boss.” he took a swig of the whiskey and set the bottle down. Kicking his feet back and leaning back on the bed he added, ”Sides, not sure you’d be able to handle anything else than the benefits with me.” Sam said leaning forward towards Sveta for another kiss.
>>”Whoa, never said anything about dating! Not… that there is anything wrong with you or dating with you, just…”
Sveta snorted in amusement, which was not a very graceful sound, but both of them were drunk past that point by now. It was kind of entertaining to see Sam act awkwardly when dating was mentioned. She did not peg him for a guy who would worry about things like that. They were alike in that regard. For the time being, anyway.
>>”Another?”
"Sure." she refilled her vodka and clinked her glass to his. Short of freezing the entire building, this was the best way to relax for both of them. She would deal with the headache tomorrow.
>>”Vigilantes with benefits…. No dates… I can do that. Doesn’t mean you’ll get a raise though just because I’m the boss. Sides, not sure you’d be able to handle anything else than the benefits with me.”
She arched a mocking eyebrow at him.
"Darn, dere goes my master plan for getting more money out of you." she smirked "And also, you only get benefits as long as no one ends up as a popsicle. You figure dat out... It's different wid each power."
She spoke from experience. Some mutant boyfriends were easier to manage than other mutant boyfriends. Or... friends who ended up causing a neural bomb...

”I’m a teacher, I don’t get paid a lot.” Sam shifted his eye from his glass to hers refilling both with some ice cubes. ”I’d like to think I’d gotten a handle of my abilities after all these years but,” Sam said shrugging, ”You did give me quite a boost back up on the roof. That kiss…” Sam whistled and looked away from her towards the wall and smirked, ”Some kiss.”
It took him a second but he cleared his throat and sipped his whiskey as he looked back to her, ”Already formulating a few ideas up here.” Sam said with a smirk, ”Ones that involve people with the abilities to nullify mutations, collars that can cancel out powers…” Sam thought of a few more then looked to her, ”I think you’ll find I’m very resourceful when motivated properly.” Sam said into his glass.
”How different?” Sam asked changing the subject, ”With the powers I mean?” Sam asked curiously wondering if he could eventually adapt to control his powers with a little over exposure to Sveta. If she was going to stick around enough or vise-versa.
>>”I’m a teacher, I don’t get paid a lot. I’d like to think I’d gotten a handle of my abilities after all these years but... You did give me quite a boost back up on the roof. That kiss… Some kiss.”
"Yeah" Sveta smirked into her glass of vodka "Combat kissing is kind of my specialty."
Maybe she should trademark it.
>>”Already formulating a few ideas up here. Ones that involve people with the abilities to nullify mutations, collars that can cancel out powers… I think you’ll find I’m very resourceful when motivated properly.”
Sveta chuckled at that. She had no doubt he was motivated.
"So your solution is to pick between collars and threesomes?" she asked pointedly. He was apparently drunk enough now to go there. Go figure. She'd remind him in the morning, just to see his face.
>>”How different?... With the powers I mean?”
"Well." she said, sitting back on the bed too, thinking "Depends on de person."
Annd, apparently she was drunk enough now to talk about past boyfriends.
"Dere was dis one guy... he could coat himself in metal. Kinda did de thing you did, wid your lips. Dat worked fine. And den dere was Jude... wid him, it depended on de powers he had at any time. When he copied mine, dat was kind of... boom."
And sometimes it involved meese.

”Ha didn’t say anything about a threesome, I mean… if you want to do that…” he shifted his eye and looked from the glass to her again with another sly smirk. ”They’re called walls, ya know? Like those right there.” Sam said pointing towards one of them. ”I like how that was your first thought.” Sam said laughing as he sipped his whiskey some more.
”Boom huh?” Sam asked laughing when she explained her past boyfriends. ”Boom is something I am familiar with.” Sam said thinking immidatly it was the bad kind of boom. ”You saw my not-wife.” Sam said not really bothered or angry at this point that he saw her and the kids again tonight. ”Queen of boom.” Sam said shrugging.
”And with my powers, my range increased from the look of things more less controllable structures. Kind of like pointing a cannon to hit a bee or something.” Sam said trying to describe it. ”Then there is your body heat.” Sam said activating it again as he raised a hand up holding his hand a few inches from Sveta’s face. ”Like you are radiating heat.” Sam said. ”Well everyone radiates heat but with you it’s a bit brighter more defined.”
>>”Ha didn’t say anything about a threesome, I mean… if you want to do that… They’re called walls, ya know? Like those right there. I like how that was your first thought.”
"Pfft." Sveta was doing the eye-rolling again. Because, clearly someone sitting around in the next room would have been a lot less awkward on all counts. Clearly.
>>”Boom huh? Boom is something I am familiar with. You saw my not-wife. Queen of boom.”
Sveta was not sure if that was the same kind of boom than what she was talking about, but they were both too drunk to care.
>>”And with my powers, my range increased from the look of things more less controllable structures. Kind of like pointing a cannon to hit a bee or something. Then there is your body heat. Like you are radiating heat. Well everyone radiates heat but with you it’s a bit brighter more defined.”
She had no idea what he wanted with the cannon and the bees. Was that some kind of an innuendo? Whatever... She sipped some more vodka.
"So, your not-wife... who is she? Is she someone dey made up?" she asked, alcohol clearly breaking down her filters and allowing her to ask question she probably should not have been asking.

Normally Sam would have been as vague as possible and even a little mean in his comments when someone asked him about Alexandra the life he had or his ‘not-family’. However he was boozed up enough and still pretty happy in the current situation to let it bother him too much. He sipped his whiskey and clenched his jaw for a second still debating on the best way to phrase it. Should he tell her everything? Childhood and everything that just led up to it or just the question she asked.
”Alexandra, she was real. Probably the first woman I ever really loved.” Sam said as he sipped his whiskey pointing to his bad eye. ”Some **** happened I lost an eye and she wanted to end it. Thought it was her fault.” Sam shrugged, ”Any who, a telepath got into my head, made me feel and see things I never thought I could have. Everything I ever wanted. Peace. Wife. Kids.” Sam sipped his drink some more.
”That thing you saw on the roof tonight, it wasn’t the real her just a fragmented nightmare. Those kids as well. Sammy and Ayrin, nothing like the my two…” Sam shook his head trying to remind himself they weren’t real. ”The two I’m forced to remember.” he corrected himself then drank a bit more. ”The Not-family. When I didn’t cooperate with the telepath they twisted the dream into the nightmare.”
Sam took a longer sip of his whiskey then shrugged and sighed, ”Almost didn’t make it through that one.” Sam said, ”Took a handful of the X-Men to get me back.” Sam said shaking his head. ”So… boom.” Sam said drinking his whiskey again. ”Odd, you’re the first person who really asked me that I answered so easily.” Sam rubbed his nose and then ran his fingers through his hair.
”Appreciate if you don’t tell anyone else about what I told you. I don’t talk about it, it is easier to forget.” lied Sam as he finished looking at the wall. Another sip and Sam looked back to Sveta trying to change the subject. ”So I’m curious what did you learn when becoming a wife?” Sam asked.
>>”Alexandra, she was real. Probably the first woman I ever really loved. Some **** happened I lost an eye and she wanted to end it. Thought it was her fault. Any who, a telepath got into my head, made me feel and see things I never thought I could have. Everything I ever wanted. Peace. Wife. Kids.”
Sveta let him talk. She was the one who asked the question, the least she could do was not interrupt... or ask any more questions. It was clearly painful for Sam to talk about these things, and he probably never would have if he was sober.
>>”That thing you saw on the roof tonight, it wasn’t the real her just a fragmented nightmare. Those kids as well. Sammy and Ayrin, nothing like the my two… he two I’m forced to remember. The Not-family. When I didn’t cooperate with the telepath they twisted the dream into the nightmare.”
The Russian vigilante frowned and drank more of the vodka. She had never really had a telepath in her head, and she thanked her luck for it, because she couldn't even begin to imagine what it would be like to question reality itself.
>>”Almost didn’t make it through that one. Took a handful of the X-Men to get me back. So… boom. Odd, you’re the first person who really asked me that I answered so easily. Appreciate if you don’t tell anyone else about what I told you. I don’t talk about it, it is easier to forget.”
She nodded. His secrets were safe with her, just as hers were safe with him. In fact, she wasn't even sure that she would remember in the morning.
>>”So I’m curious what did you learn when becoming a wife?”
"I never became a wife" she smirked "De Matchmaker trained me for things like cooking, and running a household, and balancing checks, boring stuff like dat dat I never knew. She also taught me how to look hot and do makeup and dress nice and walk in heels. Believe it or not I used to be a punk."
Such. A long time ago.

It did seem kind of boring but then again those were some pretty useful things to learn, it almost sounded like it was some sort of finishing school. Not a typical one because you know, you’d be sent to meet your new spouse when you graduate. ”Well I can’t say anything about your cooking but, you do definitely look hot.” Sam said with a cheers to her before he drank again.
”Punk huh?” Sam asked laughing turning to face her, ”We talking like colored hair, nose rings and an odd fascination with greenday? Or is a punk different in the homeland?” Sam asked with a smirk his eye starting to get a little heavy the more he put his drinks back.
”You mentioned a sister.” Sam asked remembering his brother now that they were talking about their histories a bit. Dom was away at school and barely called him anymore but he was still alive. Which was more than what he knew about his brother before he stopped at the mansion. It didn’t help that they were separated when they were younger either.
