The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

” Thank you miss.” Sam said with a slight roll of his eye before he watched Sveta get in his face. Sam stopped petting Cammie. Sam ignored her looks and how close she was and exhaled letting a small cloud of mist escape from his mouth. When she started to whisper Sam’s eye fixed against one of hers. ”Someone thinks highly of themselves.” Sam said smirking, ”Never said we had to touch.”
Raising a hand and icing over his finger slightly just so there was a thin enough layer Sam pressed her forehead in between her eyes there was no skin contact so there shouldn’t have been anything he couldn’t handle. ”Relax and give me a little more credit. Only lost control twice in my life. Once when I was hit with the haywire virus and well…” Sam shifted his gaze and shrugged, he was just understanding his powers when he was a kid and might have killed several armed guards.
”Sides, not the first girl I had to be careful around.” Sam leaned back on his bed and smirked. ”First girlfriend in new york was deadly to the touch. Made it work for a month or so.”
Sam let a small awkward whistle, ”Anyways, you forget I’m helping you. So far you haven’t helped me much right?” Sam decided to stand upright and look down on her. ”I get you are used to the solo act and I respect that. However when you work for me you need to be a little smarter. Leading killers, gang members or degenerates to society to a school of kids who are already afraid for their lives as is isn’t something I like to think of as helpful.”
Sam finished his beer tossed the can towards the fridge then walked towards his extra supply turning his back on Sveta, ”If you want to have this partnership last, you need to tell me who is following you. I like to know with whom I am dealing with.”

"Now who thinks highly of themselves" Sveta muttered, stepping back instinctively as he touched her forehead. It was not skin to skin, but she could still feel the pull of her own powers boosting his, and she exhaled in an annoyed little puff of mist. He had no idea, and it annoyed her, because if he had been afflicted with Haywire, and he had seen her files, he should have known better. She was the haywire virus.
>>”Anyways, you forget I’m helping you. So far you haven’t helped me much right? I get you are used to the solo act and I respect that. However when you work for me you need to be a little smarter. Sveta rolled her eyes and took off the holster with the guns before she sat back down. This was obviously going to be a longer talk, so she kicked off her boots as well.
"Dey call themselves Los Trinitarios" she supplied with a frown "They own several blocks of the city. In a gang way. I helped dis kid and his mother... the kid wanted out of the gang and dey showed up to set their house on fire. It was bad. I shot at dem and dey left, I think the fire was enough to scare everyone into not calling de cops. But dey also saw me, so it is very possible that if anyone is following me, it could be dem. I am not sure, though. There are lots of people dat like to hunt me for my blood. You said you know haywire, right? That's what my blood is supposed to do."

Sam watched her remove the holster and he eyed the guns for a second before turning his attention to the currently irritated blonde in front of him. He sat and listened quietly as Cammie started to rub up against his back and he turned his attention towards her petting her on the ears again as Bruno started to snore by the door. When Sveta finished he sighed slightly regretting mentioning the haywire virus.
”Sorry,” he first said before breathing in and continuing, ”I don’t really think of you as a weapon. I was hit with a weaponized version of your mutant abilities, you are a person that makes sure stuff like that doesn’t happen.” Sam sighed again, ”Anyone tries to take your blood they will have to deal with me first. I don’t let my employees hang out to dry.” Sam said in a matter of fact tone.
”Now, two things.” Sam said holding up two fingers, ”First, I’d like it if you didn’t bring guns into my school. They are about as predictable as the person wielding them. Even more so at times.” Sam put down one finger, ”Second, have you actually seen anyone or is this just a feeling?” Sam asked pulling out his phone and still seeing nothing about intruders. ”I haven’t heard about this gang before, how new are they?”
>>”Sorry, I don’t really think of you as a weapon. I was hit with a weaponized version of your mutant abilities, you are a person that makes sure stuff like that doesn’t happen. Anyone tries to take your blood they will have to deal with me first. I don’t let my employees hang out to dry.”
Sveta blinked in surprise as Sam apologized. She did not expect that, or talked about her powers for that reason. He had a weird code of honor, and she started to realize that he took it very seriously. Sam Johnson was a strange man.
>>”Now, two things. First, I’d like it if you didn’t bring guns into my school. They are about as predictable as the person wielding them. Even more so at times.”
Sveta nodded. Not much she could do about it now, but she would note it for the future. Reaching for the guns on the desk, she took the bullets out of both of them and also emptied the chamber. She obviously had practice.
>>"Second, have you actually seen anyone or is this just a feeling? I haven’t heard about this gang before, how new are they?”
"It's... more of a feeling." she admitted. It sounded lame when said out loud, and she was starting to realize that ending up in the Mansion might have had something to do with other things in her mind besides looking for safe haven. Running from danger she wasn't even sure was there? Nice job, vigilante.
She rolled her eyes, mostly at herself.
"I don't know. Dey seem to have the area in fear, though, so dey are either old or very good." she shrugged "Not as good as us. I don't think dey have any mutants on their team."
She sighed, looking around in the cozy room.
"You know, I don't even know what I was thinking coming here now. Haven't been around for ages..."

Feelings were always difficult to predict, some people knew when they were followed like a phantom hand slowly grasping around the person warning them that something was coming. Others got sloppy and were more paranoid. Sam wasn’t sure which Sveta was at the moment but he held his opinions to himself for the moment. She seemed from the start pretty on the ball. Then again people change.
”You were looking for someone to watch your back.” Sam said nodding his head and finishing yet another beer as he stood up and walked over to the fridge glad Gawain and a few other students were old enough to buy there own beer now instead of raid his fridge. ”I get it.” Sam said as he grabbed the beer and cracked it open placing the empty back in there for him to clean it out later.
”You spent so much time on your own taking down those you deem guilty. Forget to realize you are just as vulnerable as everyone else.” Sam yawned and took a sip and walked back to the bed and sat back on it, ”You’re tired.” Sam said simply shrugging his shoulders, ”You need some rest, you got spooked or someone one did follow you. Either way.” Sam shrugged, ”You are safe here. Promise.” he petted Cammie once more and stood up and walked towards the window even though he just sat down.
”I’ll keep an eye out if you need to catch some Z’s.” Sam said looking out the window.

He really did get it, even before Sveta herself did. The man was drinking beer like a fish, but he did know what being a vigilante was about, and he said exactly what she needed to hear. Sveta's look softened for a moment.
"I do hate working alone." she admitted, moving from the chair to the bed and lying down on top of the covers, folding her hands behind her head "But it is also hard to work wid anyone who is a mutant. Boosting power can be useful... but also a liability." she sighed "... and living alone also doesn't help with always being alert."
Once upon a time, she had someone to come home to. Until they had a fist fight, and he decided he wanted to go back to being in middle school.
Sveta sighed again.

”You just need to find the mutants with good enough control.” Sam might have not had complete control of his vices however his mutation was something he had always had decent control in haywire virus aside. If he was going to start working more with Sveta maybe he should start practicing his control while under her powers influence. ”No, it doesn’t.” Sam said sipping the beer and continuing to look out the window.
”Bruno, walk.” Sam said before turning to look at Sveta lying on his bed. He knew she was there because he could feel her. Just like he could find Bruno now sitting at the door with is tail wagging expectedly.
”You can stay here tonight.” he started walking towards the door, ”I’ll figure out a few places you can go from now on if you think you are being followed. I have a safe house or two in the city.” Sam grabbed a blanket he had resting on a chair and tossed it onto Sveta. ”We can talk more about this later. Until then get some sleep, and don’t worry.” Sam said smirking, ”I’ll crash on the floor after I go have a look around.”
Sam opened the door and Bruno took off excited to go for a walk. Sam grabbed a leash and smirked as he held onto his beer waving goodnight to Sveta.
