The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Michael, kitted out in his new guard uniform, was on his first patrol. As a mutant he wasn't allowed to carry a collar remote, but he wouldn't need one. He'd managed to discover why he had been selected to be a guard. The novelty of power was starting to wear off for some of the guards, and some situations were just too much effort for them to deal with. Michael, as someone who mutants couldn't hurt and who had a vested interest in helping them by having the guards not come in to kick the crap out of his friends was the ideal person to diffuse some situations. That and he was the best behaved mutant at the camp, at least as far as the guards knew.
So for the first time he entered the womens side of the camp and began to walk around. Resisting the urge to head straight for the barracks to check everyone was ok he just patrolled, doing as he was asked. He was in a unique position, and didn't want to blow it.
Emerald was not exactly having a good day at the camps today. The young wolf girl noticed the near freezing weather and did her best to bundle up but it was hard with limited resources to do so. However, she had the Heater that Michael had given her, held tightly to her body, hoping that would give her some warmth.
However, right now she was pale, her lips were also pale and her nose was a bright red as she tried to get back to the barracks without being seen. But of course, she was seen by another guard, this was just the wolf girls luck.
"Well, Well, Well, Look what we have here." Muttly cooed, seeing the wolf girl's plight.
Muttly was not a very good looking guard, he had a large forehead and a double chin but his arms looked like that of a gorrila's large, fat and muscular. He had made it his personal point to terrorize every female in any way he thought possible. Particularly, he enjoyed exploiting the weaknesses of those he tormented and now that Emerald looked weakened, he was planning on using that ot his advantage.
Emerald rolled her eyes at Muttly, backing up away from him nervously. The Wolf girl knew that she weaker than normal and that this guard could probably pin her by her arms and she wouldn't be able to fight him.
"Go away." Emerald growled, voice hoarse, she knew she had to get back to the Barracks to take care of Ruby. The Fox girl was still recovering from her encounter with James and she needed Emerald's help.
"Whats wrong Puppy, Lost your fire?" Muttly grinned.
Emerald looked at Muttly, fury burning in her eyes, at that moment she didn't care for her own safety. She threw her fist at the Guard, however, Muttly caught it, and threw her backwards.
Muttly grinned at the Emerald, "Aww..Looks like Puppy is cold. Well lets see if some time in Isolation can fix that."
Emerald snarled, backing up more and more as Muttly stalked towards her. She suddenly hit something, and looked up to See Michael behind her, she gave him a look, an almost reluctant one. She had heard that he had been promoted to guard and she was wondering if he would come and help the rest of them.
Her look, despite her reluctance to give it, was scared and asking for assistance, it was a look she had never given anyone before. She never asked anyone for help, but now...desperate times called for desperate measures.

[Hope you people don't mind I'm dropping by.]
The weather was cold. Colder than the days he had been in the camp. It used to be warmer, but weather and temperature change just as people change. It was inevitable, change was in itself, fated. The Asian boy walked aimlessly in the camp. Since both camps had been joined together, he had now been given full access to both sides camps to do his 'daily duties', be it in the residential area, the disciplinary circles or back in the infirmary. They had believed him to be harmless, and it was better that way.
As he continued to walk down the walkway, he started to hear some commotion. He started to frown as his eye brows locked together. "This place is getting pretty lively." He commented sarcastically to himself as he walked towards the source with his hands in the pocket pf his white lab-coat that Gwen specifically asked him to wear, with his name tag pinned above the coat's pocket.
Colyn quickly approached what seemed to be a "love-triangle". Two guards and a... mutant? He quickly observed those who were involved.
One of the guards was big, looks like the hulk, and was plain fat. He was standing behind him so he couldn't get to see his face, yet. As for the other guard, he was taller and younger, with short brown hair... and he was a mutant? He had heard that the guards had already started to recruit well-behaved mutants as guards. How well-behaved? He had no idea. As for the girl, it was another redhead with long hair, so long that it nearly covered her whole face.
"What is this?" His frown became more visible as he stood behind the big fatty guard. He was not impressed with what he would have witnessed if the other guard was not there...
Inspiration for reading too much novels and watching too much dramas? Probably.

Michael spotted Emerald and Muttly. He quickly made his way towards them, hoping to interveen before anything happened, but he was too slow and Em threw the first punch. Muttly effortlessly fended her off before proclaiming a sentence in isolation. Time to see how his newfound role could help his friends.
"Hey," Michael called out to the guard, "Mind if I take over? It's my first day on the job, so I'd like to get something done you know? Be a little proactive?" Michael saw the mutant make his way up behind the guard and speak out. When the guard turned to see who it was Michael shook his head, indicating for the guy to back down, he would handle this.

He wasn't pleased to see what was happening here. Gwen had discussed this over with him back in the infirmary, but when he saw the real thing... He couldn't help but feel utterly disgusted. That's right... disgusted. When was the last time he used that word... Humanity. A few weeks in the camp had already hardened his soul and spirit. Last time he would be vomiting when he saw a body, several days later, merely a feeling of disgust. Much more later, a flinch. Now, nothing.
"Hey, mind if I take over? It's my first day on the job, so I'd like to get something done you know? Be a little proactive?" The younger guard spoke out and signaled him to back off. He merely sighed as he step back. Apparently, he would let the hot shot handle this so he gave him a light nod. Perhaps he would have to reconsider what was his role here. He would be more than happy to be kicked out of the camp, but he doubt they would let him go anyway.

Muscles turned back to face Michael and scowled at him. "You so keen to do the work then fine, the bitch is all yours. Just make sure she gets to isolation," the man grumbled before lumbering off, shooting a menecing glare at the Aisan guy as he did. With the gorilla gone Michael quickly went to Emerald's side.
"You ok?" he asked, putting an arm around her for warmth and support, "Come on, follow me. I know somewhere private we can talk." He'd been instructed to take her to isolation, but not for how long she had to stay there. The cells there were big enough for two people to sit in. They could finally talk, alone and in private. Before setting off he turned to the guy who'd come over to help and gave him a nod of thanks.
After this epic, yet brief, battle of wits was over Emerald felt a wave of relief flow through her. Her entire body felt exhausted from everything that had been going on and she was afraid that if she got in a fight she would most certainly loose. She leaned against Michael, nearly falling against him, catching herself quickly. She grit her teeth together and she clung onto his arm.
"Sorry," She told him, looking up at him with burden filled eyes. The wolf girl paused getting as close to his body as possible feeling the warmth go through her tired body. "You're warm...I don't usually ask this but please make sure I don't fall. I don't want Ruby to worry about something else."
She gave a small smile to the guy that helped them earlier before turning back to Michael. Emerald figured it would be best if she stayed against him for a while.

"No worries," Michael said with a smile, "I'm not going to let you fall. I'm taking you to isolation, but only for a short while. I figure that it's porbably the only place around here were we can talk at any length in private."
He hugged her close, trying to warm her up as he headed towards the isolation cells. They'd take one of the central ones, less likely to be disturbed that way. Then they could talk, and Michael could let down his tough exterior, even if only for a while.
Emerald nodded meekly, leaning against Michael. Em felt his warmth through her body and smiled, she followed him to a place that cause her so much pain before but now looked at it with a diffrent light. She was at that moment, being given the gift of mercy for someone who had only known her for a short while.
As they now entered the Isolation cell, with the door secure, Emerald realized it was her familiar cell, due to the claw marks on the walls . The wolf girl at that moment nearly fell again before sliding slowly to the floor.
"Sorry to cause you trouble." The wolf girl told him looking up at him guiltily. "You really shouldn't have to do that for me."
((Sorry I gmodded a bit just wanted to get it moving.))

(OOC: No worries)
Michael simply smiled at Emerald as he sat beside her with his arm around her. "Hey, what are friends for if not to help each other out when things get rough?" he said, "You ever heard teh phrase 'No man is an island'? Well the same is true for wolf girls. Nobody has to should have to deal with all of this alone."
It was then that Michael, for the first time since arriving at the camps, let down his barriers and let his emotions loose. He'd spent so long keep it all bottled up, keeping it all together for the sake of the others, the the sudden release stunned him. Gazing blankly ahead a single tear rolled down his cheek.
The wolf girl noticed the tear and took her hand, brushing it away gently. She stayed close to Michael, tail wagging slightly as she sat. Emerald, kept her body close to Michael trying to stay warm, but she still trembled like mad. She was cold and unless she could turn into her wolf form she would be cold for a while.
"Thanks. I guess you figured out I have been having it rough with the guards, huh." Emerald explained, a bitter tone in her voice.
((please narrate any conversations Michael may have overheard the guards talking about the No screaming wolf girl.))

The touch of Emerald's hand on his cheek seemed to snap Michael out of his daze. "So I've heard," he said in answer to her question, "And from what I've heard the guards look upon you with a mixture of hatred and fear. Only because of the cold weather are they getting you this down trodden and they know it. Several of them are worried about what's going to happen once summer roles around. I guess that's partly while I'm here. They want me to keep you, along with some of the others, out of trouble."
Looking Emerald in the eye he said, "I promise you I'll do everything I can to make life easier for you. You and all the others." He hated see Emerald, who he knew as a strong, proud person, as beaten down as she was in here. When they got free he vowed to never let anyone bring Emerald down.

[ooc: This is getting interesting. Have fun, people.]
He nodded to the guard and the girl, sighing as things finally settled down a little.
As both of them are now hugging and cuddling each other, exchanging whispers and words, he decided that it would be best for him to leave. As his face flared up a little, he decided to ignore the pair and do the only thing that he had in his mind... leave as soon as possible, and that would be... now.
Perhaps it was time for him to familiarize himself a little with the people around the camp. He still remembered the glare that guy gave him, and he won't mind sharing his piece of mind with him. Unlike most mutants here, he can, and will use his powers to protect himself. He went passed the two pair, give them another quick nod before disappearing into the hall way.
Emerald looked up at Michael for a brief moment, a grim smile o n her face, one would be able to tell the doubtful look upon her sullen features.. The wolf girl didn't know what to think anymore, wether it was about getting out of this place or Michaels statement about making things easier she didn't know wether to believe it or not. Emerald wasn't doing well right now to say the least. She was tired, she was freezing, beaten, bruised and just wanted to rest.
"Michael I don't think thats possible... You can't the more you try to help and do good the worst things get here." Emerald replied hoarsely, before her body was seized into a coughing fit. She trembled for a moment, clenching her fists bitterly obviously trying to prevent her body from doing so. She growled in frustration, "I HATE BEING WEAK!"
Emerald , slammed her fist into Michaels shoulder as hard as she could, most likely not even phasing him that much. Even if he wasn't invincible the punch wouldn't likely do anymore than make his shoulder sore for a moment.
Emerald looked up at the ceiling in frustration, gritting her teeth together. "Michael, I can't be weak...I have never been weak before, Im not used to this." She stated, her voice filling with an anguished tone.

Michael could sense Emerald's frustration at herself even before she spoke out. She was always used to being strong, for her little sister and herself. However, the conditions in the camps were unlike anything any of them had ever experianced. Even the strongest of them were starting to crumble.
"Hey, come on," Michael said, "don't be too hard on yourself. This place was designed to bring us down, all of us. You can't expect to stay in top form in here." It was then and there that Michael decided he would make use of his access to the guards gym and get himself in the best physical condition he could be. That way when help came, and he was sure it would come, he'd be ready to help.
"I can tell you one thing for certain. I'm not giving up. No matter how hard it get's I'll keep doing all I can to help you, all of you. We will make it through this ok? We'll get through it, come out the other side and you can get back into top shape where you could kick each and every one of these guards' asses, you got that?"
