The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Michael listened as Emerald explained her dream. He was a little surprised to hear he was in it. When she admitted that he was someone she cared about he was momentarily stunned, which meant he couldn't stop her from punching the wall.
Gently holding her hand in his he tried to sooth her. "Hey," he said softly, "You can't expect yourself to be strong all the time. We all have our weak moments. What's improtant is having friends there who'll support you in those moments. Just like I'm going to support you."
Emerald began to calm down considerably when Michael took a hold of her aching hand. She listened to him, breathing in and out deeply trying to keep herself calm so she wouldn't do anything stupid again. Her mind now tried to think about the people she called friends but she was only able to think of all the horrible things that could possibly happen to them. The wolf girl shook it out quickly, not wanting to loose herself in her anger once again.
"You'll really be there to support me? Funny, I never though I would have any type of support other than my little sister." Emerald paused, taking a deep breath. "Espicially not from a guy...Funny how fate leads us to people that could care for us."

Michael smiled as Emerald's mood seemed to improve. "Of course I'll support you," he said, "and you don't need to worry about me, I'm pretty resiliant you know." Pausing for a moment he thought a while before saying, "Promise me something. Promise me that whenever the world get's too much you come and talk to me ok? And I mean that, no bearing the weight of the world all on your own."
"Likewise when things get too much for me I hope you'll be there to listen when I just need to get some stuff off my chest. Deal?" Hopefully this way they could both stay sane in this place.
Emerald smiled at Michael, the first true smile she had give in a while. Her mood seemed to be uplifted by talking to him, which was a welcome change from her normal mood being dragged down by the guards lovely 'chats' with her. The wolf girl liked the idea of her him being her little stress ball so she could vent to him about things that were going on.
"Deal, but I must warn you, you may be wieghted down with the burden of my troubles." Emerald told him, with a guilty tone creeping in her voice. "I dont want you to be brought down because of me."

"Not to worry, I think you'll find troubles are much easier to bare with somone else helping to shoulder the burden." Looking out through the small window in the door Michael could see it was starting to get dark. They'd been here for quite a while now, but it was nearly time to head back to the camp.
"We'd better get going soon," he said in a tone of voice that clearly implied he'd rather stay.
Emerald smiled lightly at Michael, shaking her head slightly, it was almost as if part of her didn't believe him. However, the fact that Michael seemed so intent upon it made her start to nod reluctantly. Noticing the gathering darkness outside, Emerald smile diminished now knowing they would have to leave son.
"Michael...you could just leave me in here, because they are going to question you why I haven't been Isolated in isolation. I wouldn't want you to get in trouble." Emerald twiddled her fingers nervously. "But....I would like to stay here with you as well. It's kind of nice to have someone to talk to."

Michael paused, seriously tempted to ignore what he had to do and stay here with Emerald. "Tell you what, I'll head back, report in and make like everything is normal, then sneak back here with some blankets and food. As long as I'm up in time to start my rounds tomorrow I doubt any of the guards will notice."
To be honest he didn't care if they did. He come up with some excuse or other. Right now all he wanted to do was stay with Emerald in this isolation cell, hiding from the world.
"Michael, no if you get caught sneaking fo- Wait you said food right?" the wolf girl asked, her stomach growling loudly in response.
Emerald hadn't been eating that much as of late, she did not as if it would make her any weaker than she already was. Though, when she did eat it was normally what she 'borrowed.' from the guards. The aspect of food, perhaps better than what she was used to eating was a welcome aspect indeed.
"I suppose you could do that...can you make sure the food is meat though? Hell I dont care if its raw but Meat would be really nice right about now."

Michael smiled as Emerald's protests dissolved at the mention of food. "Don't worry, I'll be back in an hour or so," he said stepping out of the cells, "I'll need to lock the cell, but I'll be back in about an hour."
With that Michael set off towards the guards barracks. They were grabbing food when he arrived. Having been premoted to a guard he no longer had to eat the same food as the other inmates. He needed to keep his strength up to keep mutants in line after all.
Tonight they were having hamburgers. Michael hadn't had proper food in a very long time, but managed to resist the urge to just throw himself at the food. Instead he took one and sat down at an empty table. He ate his meal quickly before getting up to grab another two burgers. Once he was sure no one was looking he wrapped the two in napkins and hid them and made his way out to his bunk.
He wasn't there long, he just grabbed a blanket and had a friend set up his bunk as if he were sleeping there. With a vague ruse to throw off any snooping guards he made his way over to the isolation cells. Along the way he had one or two close calls, but managed to hide just in time to avoid guard patrols.
Reaching the isolation cells he quickly made his way to Emeralds. Unlocking it he quickly entered and locked teh door behind him. "Here," he said pulling out the hamburgers, "they're probably clod by now, but they're proper food for a change." Handing Emerald the burgers he sat beside her and put the blanket round both their shoulders.
Emerald was happy about the blanket, but she was ecstatic about the hamburger. The wolf girl's tail waged back and forth rapidly as she looked at the hamburgers hungerilly, before she knew it she had already picked one up. The Lupine Female wasted no time to tear into the succulent piece of meat, chomping down on it eagerly.
She devoured the entire thing in roughly 2 minutes, her tail wagging still after she was done. The wolf girl laid on the floor, belly facing towards the ceiling and she rubbed it, satisfied.
"Michael....have I told you lately how good you are to me?" Emerald asked with an extremely happy look on her face. It was probably the happiest she had been since she had gotten there.

Michael couldn't help but smile as he watched Emrald tear into the burger. It was clear that this was the best food she'd had in a while. Lying down next to her he answered, "Not in so many words, but I sort of got the message."
"First thing when we get out of here is a hamburger joint," he said cheerfully, "and you're buying. Consider it returning the favour." He grinned broadly at Emerald. Michael hadn't been this relaxed since the attack on the mansion.
Emerald merely nodded in response, almost to happy to talk. It felt so nice to finally have good food in her and she was glad for the company as well. Not saying she didn't like being by herself, its just the wolf girl was glad to have someone to talk to for once. She smiled at Michael, turning her head to him, tail still going about a mile a minute.
"I will buy, only if you promise to pick up the tip." Emerald smiled lightly at him, brushing his hair from his face.

Smiling back Michael answered, "Deal." Grabbing the blanket he threw it over the pair of them. He still couldn't quite believe that this isolation cell was where he would have his best memories of the camps. If only the guards knew.
His mind wandered to the world outside the camp and what it would be like to be out there again. He imagined him and Emerald doing simple little things, like taking a walk around the mansion grounds or going into the city for a day.
Emerald curled up beneath the blanket, tail wagging back and forth contently. She looked absolutely content with everything right now. In truth she was glad that she was finally getting a little break from the world outside.
She got closer to Michael, enjoying the feeling of his Body warmth once again. The wolf girl didn't mind being with him ethier, he seemed to be one of the very few people that were able to calm her down in the dire situation they were in.

Michael put an arm around Emerald to hold her close. He was about ready to fall alseep when his finger tips felt the scars on her back. His hand froze, not quite sure what to do. He just managed to look at Emerald a little akwardly before saying, "Emerald... What happened?"
These scars were old, none of them picked up at the camp. Something had happened to Emerald in the past, something worse than this.
