The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Shya was being led, again, to the grave yard. James guiding her every step. That is if you could call what he did guiding. IT was more like he just got her moving in a general direction, then pushed her sideways, back and forth, on her way. He’d been doing that every day he collected her for the last seven weeks. Finding amusement and pride out of her awkward situation and pain when he caused her to trip. Bruising her ankles and shins on her way.
“Right little lady” He sneered. Shoving her forward so that Shya’s foot hooked over the stake in the ground, marking where the grave that was to be dug, should go. Another grave digger had already brought the Dead. Leaving them, for the moment, in the cart used for transport.
For the last seven weeks Shya had been one of the mutants chosen to burry the dead. Maybe some thought it would be easier for her because she was blind. Not knowing who she was putting in the ground and there for not mourn as hard as others. Only a thought one of the other workers once shared with her. Shya had only tugged a small smile across her face. The person was trying to be comforting. She could tell that by the tone of their voice. The truth was she did know who had died. Maybe not right away but through time, she had figured it out simply by the missing pieces of sound she wouldn’t hear any more.
Jame’s could be heard chuckling behind, Shya, as she found the shovel. Her feet shuffled around till she found the stakes in the ground. James shouting out warmer or colder as she did. Even in tragedy the guard found that this place was one big game. With a Sigh, Shya began to dig. Mean while James happily began singing whistle while you work.
Deathstar was dead at work grave digging when a familiar face flooded her curiosity, she wiped the sweat from across her forehead when seeing the blind woman being lead onto the grounds. Deathstar was once again helpless while watching the blind woman be taunted, she would of assaulted the guard if it wasn't for those stalker bots planted around the premises. Deathstar kept the momentum of working digging a deep hole for a young woman who was tortured to death, it seems she became more close with dead bodies than she did with alive ones. "she was only 14 years old!" she said softly to herself followed by a exhausting sigh, she looked up again a saw the blind woman close to her, "I wouldn't expect to see you here" she said as continued to dig the grave deeper.
Shya heard DeathStar working near by. The mention of how old one of the mutants were burying narrowed down immediately who had died. She paused with the shovel, her head tilting down. Lips pulling tight and pressing together, Shya swallowed and began shoveling again. Finding a rhythm that was easy enough for the long hours.
"I wouldn't expect to see you here"
Her chin raised slightly in DS’s direction. “Why do you say that?”
Deathstar stopped digging and gave a stern look at the blindwoman as she replies to Deathsatr's statement, "usually the people here had behavior problems, you don't seem like the type that causes trouble". Deathstar resume digging, putting every once of her strength to make sure the dead body of the young mutant gets a proper grave. "I'm Deathstar by the way, you probably heard of me by now, but don't let my rough exterior fool you" jamming the shovel into the ground, Deathstar was sort of glad she had someone to witness this horrible experience.
"Did you know this young girl?, I like to put names to bodies I have buried so hopefully I can notify their loved ones if I can get out this joint, thats at least I can do", Deathstar takes a deep look at covered corpse of the young girl. "Just to think this couldn't get worse" she turned around moving her damp hair from her face looking at the blind woman, "how did you end up here?.
"usually the people here had behavior problems, you don't seem like the type that causes trouble"
She smiled but the gesture was lost in her eyes. “I can still cause my share of trouble. I just fear it would hurt someone else here. You and I are probably the two who know the most about what the camps are willing to do. Besides, Some of the deaths looked random to me.” She said. One hand waved in the direction of the bodies. Only breaking the beat of her shovel for a second
"I'm Deathstar by the way, you probably heard of me by now, but don't let my rough exterior fool you"
She nodded. Yeah she had heard of the girl. “DeathStar is a catchy name. Mine’s boring. It’s Shya, Shya Lynn.”
"Did you know this young girl?, I like to put names to bodies I have buried so hopefully I can notify their loved ones if I can get out this joint, thats at least I can do"
“If she was the 14 year old I knew, her name was Emily. I didn’t get a last. Four days ago her and I were talking at the breakfast table. She was telling me about her little brother at home.” Shya had to stop to breath. Letting the spade side of the shovel rest in the ground. “I’ve not been told who I’ve buried, but I end up figuring it out later. I could give you about two dozen more names.”
"how did you end up here?.
“You ask a lot of questions.” A small smile flashed across the 16 year old’s face. Then time reflected in her eyes for a second. She liked talking. It helped for some reason. “I turned myself in.”
Deathstar looked at her with a stern face, "Hey!, you know what they say keep your friends close and your enemies closer" She jolted the shovel into the ground when she finished her response.
“I turned myself in.” shya responds
"You turned yourself in, why in the hell would you do that?, you must not have known about this place" she says as threw some dirt over her shoulder. "I was forced here, and from what it looks now I gotta force myself out".
Shya nodded at the friends close, enemies closer, line. She hadn’t ment to make the other cross.
"You turned yourself in, why in the hell would you do that?, you must not have known about this place"
Shya shrugged. She should have expected that question. “I was protecting my brother. He tried to hide me but with those things running around the street, well, I was scared. So I turned myself in.” She Shifted the shovel so that it was better balanced.
"So anyways, what is your ability?"
“I’m an empathic Psychic.” Her chin lifted and tilted in DeathStar’s direction. “So what’s yours?”
Deathstar jammed the shovel into the ground, and leaned on it for support. "Well put it like this, whatever you can do, I can do as well or better" she laughed a little just to lighten the mood. "No but really I have the ability to absorb mutants ability and hmans life force, I still haven't discovered my full mutant potential, thats one of the many reasons why I reside at the mansion or whatever is left of it thanks to the stalker bots" she shrugged her shouldersat the end of her statement.
"Okay!, freaks thats deep enough, time to dump that waste of life in the hole where it belongs" says the watchguard
Deathstar turned to look at the guard with an aggressive look upon her face, "don't worry you will be joining her as soon as you think" Deathstar belched out as the grave drowned in silence.
"Shut up bitch!, before I put your filthy mouth in good use, if you know what I mean" the guard says as he laughs hysterically to Deathstar and his other male guards joking knowing well how to press her buttons.
"Now do as I say and dump that body into the hole" the guard says in serious tone as he pointed his gun at Deathstar.
Deathstar walked over to the covered body in silence , face cringed with anger, fighting the urge to break his neck in half ."You mind giving me a hand here Shya if possible?" Deathstar was tired and worn out from digging holes since sumrise, her body was entirely too weak to do it alone
Even if it felt a odd, it felt good to hear a laugh. Of course the laughter was swiftly cut off by one of the guards. Shya listened to the exchange. Thinking about messing with the guards head but that would lead to an ugly shock from her collar. Plus the stalkers would come into the situation. Shya was helpless against them.
"Now do as I say and dump that body into the hole"
Body. No name. Not even calling it a her or a him. Just an object. Shya’s jaw clenched.
"You mind giving me a hand here Shya if possible?"
“Of course.” She said finding her way to the other side of the body. To Emily and began helping.
(ooc: hope you don't mind me playing the guard, you can play him aswell)
"Oh!, Let her do it on her own" the guard says
Deathstars bites her lip while taking a deep exhale, frustrated and angry she takes a glance at the guard rolling her eyes. She kneels down preparing herself to lift the heavy body.
"No!, I mean her, the blind one, everyone got to do their share of work around here", the guard says while a sinister grin on his face.
"Let me do it, she's blind you know" Deathstar says with a concern for Shya.
"I know" the guard laughs even harder
"You are such a prick, if I didn't have this collar on my neck you would be....." Deathstar was abruptly interrupted.
"Shut up bitch, or else you will be the next body in that hole, and this is the last time I tell you" the guard shouts at Deathstar obviously irratated by her remarks.
Deathstar gazes at Shya with the look of guilt on her face, " Shya!, I didn't mean for this happen".
(I don’t mind one bit. Seems like I’m normally the one to bring a guard in when one is needed.)
"No!, I mean her, the blind one, everyone got to do their share of work around here"
Shya nodded instantly accepting the burden. It wasn’t the first time she’d done this. Normally under James’s supervision. Well more like under his taunting but he was there. Where had he gone anyways? The question was instantly whipped away by DeathStar’s next statement.
"Let me do it, she's blind you know"
"I know"
Shya’s brow ruffled. She waited till they were done with their exchanges. “Thank you DeathStar but I don’t need protection like a kid. My eyes don’t work but everything else does.” The guards want their entertainment by watching her navigate the way she’s had to since before she could walk then let them get their entertainment. Let them hope she slips up and falls in a hole or something like that. Shya had the grave site mapped in her head. She knew how many steps away the hole was along with how deep.
Carefully, Shya pulled Emily’s body back till she was at the edge of the hole. Then lowered the young girls body down as if she were still alive to feel the drop. Gentle.
Grave digging. Joy. At least it would be a good chance to talk to some of the girls, and also to try out Michael's code. (OOC:see customs) He only did grave digging once a week, and it was the worst job he got. It was easier going physically than the quarry, but he would never forget the smell. It permeated the air, filled everything, and there was nothing he could do anout it. The stench of decay, reeking, almost sent him reeling on his first shift there, all those weeks ago. He was steeling himself to it, but he couldn't blot it out entirely. He focussed his mind on the task at hand, ignoring everything else, only the spade digging at the holes. It took a while before he say them.
There was Shya, next to a grave. For a heart stopping moment, he thought she was going to be the one headed for the hole he was creating, but then he realised that she was just working. He breathed a sigh of releaf, which was a big mistake. The smell invaded his senses again, and he had to fight to stop himself from throwing up. He gave a small wave to Shya, before realising that she was blind and that it didn't acheive anything, and continued digging. His next grave would be the one next to hers, so he could speak to her then. He was almost finished with this one, anyhow.
He was so glad that he didn't have to settle in the graves' eternal occupants.
Deathstar stood behind Shya watching over her as she lowered the body of Emily very gently, "Atleast we know her name" she said as she walk back to her shovel preparing to dig another whole. She notice a familiar face waving at her, Deathstar nodded her head at the guy wanting him to come over in their direction, so she can get a closer look at his face.
(I hope this way of recognizing is ok with you Ted.)
There. That part of the job was done. Always one of the harder parts. It was up there with the list of not always knowing who she was putting in the ground. Then finding out later.
"Atleast we know her name"
“Yeah” Shya said. Dusting her hands free of the dirt. Two of the guards to her right were exchanging looks. One held his hand out and the other placed a wad of cash in his palm. Apparently they had a bet going about how the blind girl would do.
As Ted had approached and started work shya’s head tilted to the side. She scooped up her shovel only to hold it at first. She thought she recogniced the sound of the way Ted walked. “Ted?”
(OOC: I'm ok with that. He probably does walk a little differently than most. we could always blame it on his mutation lol)
Ted started digging the next grave, surprised when Shya said his name. He didn't really recognise the other girl, but she seemed to recognise him. The guards weren't really paying that much attention, after their little bet was over. What was that about? "Hey there Shya. More fun digging holes." He bent back to his digging after a non-too-pleasent look from one of the guards. He spoke out of the side of his mouth to the other girl. "Hey there. How you doing?"
