The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

“Okay, here goes.”
He concentrated as he always did when he wanted to activate his power. With a simple whisper in his mind a soft, white glow started to surround his palm. The light slowly extended towards Nika’s hand, her arm and her body. He could feel the itch all over his body, and one particular one at his neck… As he fought back the desire to stop the process, the scars that were visible slowly retracted and disappeared. Nothing remained of the scars; nothing remained to tell the story of how the wounds were once inflicted.
Suddenly, he could feel that there was something else. Something inside the blood… something constraining the body. He could feel her body crying for freedom, crying him to releasing them from the bondage. He had no idea what that was…
“What is this?” He mumbled as he broke the invisible chains on Nika, removing the effect of the sedative on her although he had no idea what he had just did.

"So I'm gonna feel numb where I have scars? Does that mean you heal all the scars on a person or just ones you touch? I'm only asking because if you heal all the scars then I'm gonna feel numb everywhere."
Gwen frowned deeper at that remark, but said nothing. She watched Colyn's expression closely, to see if he remained objective. The locked brows didn't escape her attention. Maybe she needed to have a talk with him after this, to warn him of just what he was in for. Nika was one of the better scenarios, not necessarily in physical condition, but mainly in disposition. The majority of the camp inmates had grown bitter and hateful, and that number grew every day. And it affected anyone with a shred of decency.
It definitely affected her.
“Okay, here goes.”
Gwen watched with intense interest. She hadn't expected the glow; Natalie didn't glow when she healed, did she? And was he trying not to twitch? She saw a twitch. Yes, definitely a twitch. Wasn't it? Her eyes narrowed and her brow knitted in concentration. It reminded her of watching a splash of water in reverse; rather than spread, the scar shrunk. The one on the catgirl's neck noticeably retracted.
<"How can this be considered dangerous?"> The brief thought flitted across Gwen's mind. It was caught, and secreted back in the corners of her thoughts, along with all of the others that required deeper consideration, consideration she had no time for right now. She could argue morals with herself later. Right now, she was a doctor.
“There. I healed the scars.”
Gwen nodded. "All right, let's see." She moved up for a closer examination.
While Colyn was doing his thing Nika felt most of her body go numb or tingle like pins and needles. It wasn't a very comfortable feeling but at the same time it wasn't painful either. If someone were to ask her how it felt she probably would just tell them wierd.
When the boy stepped back and announced he had healed the scars Nika immediatley began to look her arms and legs over. All of her smaller scars were completely gone. Her skin was smooth and there was no sign of a scar ever being there. Gwen chimed in as she too wanted to look to see how things went.
Being completly overwhelmed with joy of not being marked up Nika lifted her dress for Gwen to check Nika's more serious scars while the cat girl tried to feel under her collar for the scar on her neck. Her finger tips were met with smooth skin and Nika smiled brightly as she looked to Colyn.

He looked as Nika touched all over her own body where the scars were supposed to be. He was happy that he was able to heal all of them although he knew that he could heal them all with little pain on his part. Even Gwendolyn moved over to give a closer look on his little ‘work’.
Actually, he felt more joyful when he saw Nika let Gwendolyn checked on her, although Gwendolyn was blocking his view.
The physical scars are gone now. He reminded himself. But when will those in her heart heal?
Then whenhe moved to the left a bit, he saw Nika smiled cheerfully at him. He turned his head away, blushing. However, he did saw that Nika was touching her own neck…
There must be a scar there too… He took a note of that little detail but that did not matter anymore. It was gone.
“I hope you are feeling alright.” He turned and looked at Nika, but dared not to look directly into her eyes.

Gwen checked Nika's profile briefly; it didn't include many physical details other than the basic 'height, weight, mutation, etcetera, etcetera' stuff. But mention was made of the scar on the girl's neck.
She took a closer look. Sure enough, the marred flesh was good as new. Nika also showed her the gash in her side; also good as new. The catgirl also seemed to have quite a bit more energy than previous. Perhaps a side effect? Hmm... maybe she was simply overjoyed.
"Interesting...." She motioned for Nika to cover herself again, then made a note on the clipboard.
“I hope you are feeling alright.” Gwen looked up to see him blushing, and not looking Nika in the eye. A smile twitched at the corner of her mouth.
"You may find yourself very busy here, Colyn. All right, let's do a quick physical, just to be sure." She handed the clipboard back to the young asian.
"Huh. Everything looks better than good," she announced a short time later. She crossed her arms and leaned against the counter. "I shouldn't be doing this, but I'm fed up with the Rockheads in charge at the moment, not to mention a few random Knuckle-draggers. So I'm going to give you a choice," she told Nika. "I'm gonna let you pick your work details. You stay on double Barrack duty, or pick another pair of chores. Consider it an official 'Doctor's Excuse'."
Through her joy of having an unmarked body again Nika noticed Colyn's bashfullness. She smiled and after Gwen was through looking the girl over Nika covered herself and jumped down off the examination table.
"This is the best I've felt in a long time."
With that Nika gave Colyn a big hug and whispered in his ear.
"You don't need to be shy, especially with me. I'm very friendly."
Nika pulled back and made sure Colyn was looking at her before giving him a big smile. She then turned her attention somewhat to Gwen. She wished she didn't have to have double duty but then everyone else seemed to always be busy.
"Umm...is there anything I can help with around here?"
Nika hoped she could help in the infirmary and perhaps get to know Colyn a little more as well.

"You may find yourself very busy here, Colyn. All right, let's do a quick physical, just to be sure." And he quietly took the clipboard from his superior as she checked Nika. He had complete faith in his own abilities though, so he wasn’t quite afraid he did things wrong.
"Huh. Everything looks better than good," He left out a sigh of relief as Gwendolyn announced a short while later. Nika too jumped off from the table, seemingly more energized before she came. He could remember the feeling when he healed her; there was something else inside her body, somehow… slowing the body’s metabolism. He did not believe that it is a coincidence…
"This is the best I've felt in a long time."
And suddenly, Nika was already hugging him. His face immediately burned and he could only gape in surprise. He wasn’t… accustomed to such openness.
"You don't need to be shy, especially with me. I'm very friendly."
She pulled back and he was sure that she wanted to give him that big, bright smile. Like the sun, he commented as the girl’s attention turned else where.
"Umm...is there anything I can help with around here?"
He played with the thought for a little while and he approached Gwendolyn with seriousness in his eyes. “I think we can have her around here, since we really need the extra pair of hands.” He looked around him and made sure that no one was near except them, then whispered only loud enough for Gwendolyn and Nika to hear.
“There is something else that I need to talk to you too. I think Nika was drugged when she was brought here.”
"Umm...is there anything I can help with around here?"
“I think we can have her around here, since we really need the extra pair of hands.”
Gwen 'hrrmphed' noncommittedly. "You think so, huh? And I'll bet that hug and smile have nothing whatsoever to do with it. RIght?" She quirked an eyebrow.
“There is something else that I need to talk to you too. I think Nika was drugged when she was brought here.”
"Really?" Gwen's face remained expressionless. She knew all about the sedative being pumped into the mutants, via their meal tickets. She knew, and was thoroughly disgusted by it. It was pointless! The shock bracelets and collars were sufficient enough to keep the inmates in line. Not to mention the Stalker robots wandering around like damn ghosts. The sedative was overkill.
"Could you tell what it was?" she asked Colyn, keeping all inward feelings right where they belonged. Inside....

His face burned again at Gwendolyn's comment about the hug and smile... Well, she is kinda cute. Wait a minute, what am I thinking about! He shook his head and threw the thought out of his mind...
"Really? Could you tell what it was?" He couldn't read her facial expression... she was overly calm about this... Maybe, she knew?
"I don't know what it is yet. I may have... cure whatever it is but I have no idea what it does yet... But I can be sure it has something to do with numbingthe body... or something along the line. I've seen cases like this..." Well, at least this case was something much less severe than the other one. A suicidal friend of his decided to take sleeping pills... a whole bottle of it. If his parents hadn't brought him over just in time... He shrugged as he reminded himself of the feeling.
He could still remember when the drug took a hold of him once... He was quite sure he don't want to feel something like that again. It was very... fearful, to lose control of your body even if it was only for a split second.
Gwen's comment about Nika hugging Colyn made the girl smile. She didn't try to hide it either. It wasn't often that something made her smile since being in the camp. So, she decided to wear that smile liek a proud little badge.
"Oh please let me help out here. I've spent most of my time in here anyways so I know where things are."
Nika did her best to use those big blue eyes of hers to aid her pleading. She was hoping Gwen would accept her help. Nika didn't want to go back to working for the guards in their barracks.
Her ears shot up when Colyn mentioned something about Nika being drugged. Then she started to think on it. She didn't seem to have the bouncing energy she used to. Then again she just thought it was because this place was so depressing. She continued to listen.
"I don't know what it is yet. I may have... cure whatever it is but I have no idea what it does yet... But I can be sure it has something to do with numbing the body... or something along the line. I've seen cases like this..."
Gwen listened, still keeping her expression neutral. Maybe she could send a few certain others Colyn's way. Ones who were having harsher reactions to the sedatives.
"Hm. Well, we'll check it out then. Let me get a blood sample real quick." She was an expert, so the procedure should've been quick and painless. "I'll send it to the lab boys and see what they'll tell me." Of course, she already knew what they'd say, but Colyn and Nika didn't need to know yet. Maybe Gwen could use the info for another push to stop the over-medicating. Maybe.
"Oh please let me help out here. I've spent most of my time in here anyways so I know where things are."
Puppy dog eyes have nothing on Kitty-cat eyes. "Fine," she finally sighed. "I'm sure I can find something for you do around here. For one shift. You still need a second."
Gwen scowled slightly. She was supposed to be professional, unbiased. It was becoming increasingly difficult to be so in this place.[/color]

"Hm. Well, we'll check it out then. Let me get a blood sample real quick. I'll send it to the lab boys and see what they'll tell me." He was certainly gladdened by the Gwendolyn’s reassurance, and her willingness to check it out. He smiled a little as he crossed his arms together in front of him, and pushed his suspicions aside.
"Oh please let me help out here. I've spent most of my time in here anyways so I know where things are." Hmm, big teary blue eyes. He jokingly commented in his heart. His smile turned bitter as he looked at the two. He wondered what kind of situation he was now in. He felt… joyful yet so sad… It’s strange to have the two emotion mixed together.
"Fine. I'm sure I can find something for you do around here. For one shift. You still need a second."
"I need to familiarize myself with the camp." He told Gwendolyn. “And I don’t actually see a Camper’s Handbook around here, so I might need someone to give me a… tour around, explaining the rules and stuff.” He didn’t actually think that ‘tour’ is a suitable word though having someone to guide him around would be useful. He shuddered as he thought about a huge towering muscle man pointing a the muzzle of a gun at his hand because he entered the wrong room.
The Infirmary. Isabel hated the Infirmary. The white walls, the nurses and guards milling about, the distinct hospital-like smell. Everything about the place was just awful. But there were two even bigger reasons that she disliked the place. One, when she ended up there, it usually meant that she'd lost whatever fight she'd gotten into. And two, it meant getting poked and prodded at by various nameless faces wearing uniforms and rubber gloves. On top of being physically injured, it was turning her normally well-kept pride into tatters. Half the time she had to bite her tongue to stop herself from getting into an argument with any given member of the staff. True, they were helping her, albeit they were obliged to do it, but it was difficult for the young mutant to sit quietly when she was being jabbed with needles or when cuts and scrapes were being touched and handled in a not so gentle manner. Her first trip to this place had been more than enough, but being who she was she just kept ending up in the exam rooms again and again.
A childish little pout adorned her features as she shuffled down the white hallways, backed by a bored looking, heavy set and balding guardsman who prodded her in the small of her back to get her moving a bit faster and to keep himself at least somewhat amused. She nearly shivered whenever she felt the tips of his fingers press against her back, a kind of disgust manifesting itself in her mind and in the pit of her stomach each time contact was made. She didn't like being touched by these humans, even if it was so much as being brushed aside in passing. Normally she would have protested rather loudly to being pushed around in such a manner, but seeing as she was still bleeding rather freely and had just had herself beaten and shocked into near unconsciousness, she was just too tired to put up any kind of useless stubborn arguments. And so she just kept walking, or occasionally skipping ahead a few steps with that inevitable little push she was given by her oh so charming escort.
Pushing through the Infirmary door after hurrying a few steps away from the guard escorting her, the slightest spark of Isabel's defiant personality came to surface as she quickly shut the door in the man's chubby face. The smallest of smirks brightened her expression as a loud thump sounded on the other side of the doorway. Dimwit. Before the man could get a chance to come to terms with the sudden aching in his head and nose and open the door, the young mutant made her way further into the Infirmary, looking for any staff members that could assist her. She wandered rather slowly through a couple of rooms, her injured hand still cradled against her chest, the front of what was supposed to be a dress stained and crusting over with blood, her collar bone giving her painfully sharp jolts every time she moved in certain ways, making breathing more of a labor. That man James was in serious trouble if he ever ran into Isabel outside the restraints of the camp. This little girl knows how to hold a grudge.
Stumbling across three individuals seemingly in conversation, she slowed to a stop and simply observed for a brief moment. Two inmates and a nurse. Well, at least one of them would be useful. "Sorry to interrupt such a lovely little get-together, but I seem to have a problem," she said, announcing her presence as best she could seeing as her throat was aching after being electrocuted as well as having screamed bloody murder a couple of times. "I think I might have broken my collar bone, not to mention this lovely mess," she continued, pulling her battered hand away from her chest and holding it up to see, blood sluggishly oozing down her forearm and pooling around the edge of the shock bracelet. "Now, if there was any chance in Hell that I could get this bracelet removed or powered down for a minute of so, I could easily fix half of my problems. If not, we're gonna need a lot of plaster." It was mostly wishful thinking on her part. She doubted that the bracelet would be switched off, but Isabel was much fonder of being able to mend her own bones quickly, rather than waiting for them to heal on their own, which would take much longer. She just didn't have the patience to wait for much of anything anymore.

As he was going to continue his rambling, the face of a tall girl caught his attention. "Bloody hell." He muttered to himself in his mind as his attention turned towards the new comer's wounds on her arm.
"Sorry to interrupt such a lovely little get-together, but I seem to have a problem,"
"I think I might have broken my collar bone, not to mention this lovely mess,"
"That is not a problem, sister. That is a HUGE problem you have there. How did she even broke her collar bone?" He told himself as he saw the blood flowing down from her battered arm. He wasn't disgusted or anything, just surprised. What happened to her?
"Now, if there was any chance in Hell that I could get this bracelet removed or powered down for a minute of so, I could easily fix half of my problems. If not, we're gonna need a lot of plaster."
"I don't think they'll power down your bracelet even if you've asked nicely. I think that is out of the question." Colyn replied the girl as his heart started to throb faster. The camp seemed to be a more brutal place than he had first heard. This was really coming up to his nerve. Welcome to your new world, Colyn. Better start familiarize yourself coz' it will save you a lot of pain in the present, and the future.
"Anyway, allow me to help. Please sit..." He looked at Gwendolyn, and surprisingly, she had no reaction so far. Her glare on him was still so... calm. He quickly turned to the girl. "...on the edge of the bed and show me where your wounds are. I will do my best to tend it."
Isabel's gaze flitted from the nurse over to the boy that spoke up and addressed her. Her look was quizzical, almost doubtful of the youth. He looked to be younger than nearly all the rest of the staff here. Was he new to the Infirmary? She didn't recall ever seeing him around the pristine halls before. No uniform. No stethoscope. But he did have a clipboard. At least there was a minimal effort to look the part. However, at this point in time she really wasn't in any position to be picky. If this kid said he could help, she might as well allow it. She didn't really figure he could mess her up any worse than she already felt and no doubt looked as well. Twisting her bracelet in irritation, she let her injured hand drop back down by her side, adding yet another lovely smear of red to her already stained clothing, little crimson droplets soon dripping from her fingertips and landing on the nice clean floors. So be it. The place needed a little color anyways.
A typical little pout appeared at the confirmation that her bracelet would not be switched off. "I figured as much, but it was worth a try," she said sulkily. If it had been shut off, there was little doubt in her mind that she'd pause very long after mending her own bones without starting her own little rampage. She'd try to kill as many of these people she could get her hands on before that shock bracelet kicked back in and punished her. Killing anyone at this point would be an improvement. Simply breaking a few peoples' fingers or trying to smash their noses in was getting to be rather boring. She's prefer it if she could reconstruct someone's internal organ systems. Like James. He didn't need both his lungs, did he? Or his intestines? And a heart really is such a useless seeming thing for humans. Perhaps she'd do him a favor and remove it. It would look so much better in a decorative jar in her room. If she ever got back to her room, that is.
Pulling out of her thoughts, she focused back on the boy as he spoke to her again. "Relax, Kid, I'm not gonna bite you," she piped back up as she moved over to a vacant bed and plopped down, immediately regretting the action as it painfully jostled her injuries. He looked nervous, though who wouldn't when they were treating potentially dangerous mutants in a place where those said mutants were most likely looking to kill a few people? Especially if this boy was new to the staff, as Isabel suspected that he was. "As far as my injuries are concerned, I think I might have broken my collar bone here, if not it's just very badly bruised," she responded, pulling down the collar of her outfit a little to expose an area of skin that was already turning black and blue, "And as for my hand, I know I've broken a good amount of bone, as well as having the skin split open in several places, not to mention the slight burns on the skin beneath this godforsaken bracelet," she sulked. Really, it was her pride that was hurting the most. Sure, she'd put up a good enough fight, at least as far as she was concerned, but she still wasn't accustomed to losing to a creature as simple as a human.
I’m just a well-adjusted gal who likes to leave a serious amount of mayhem in her wake.
