The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

He watched her leave, waiting a little while before fully dropping his facade. He stretched to his fullest height, his shoulders broadening. His confidence came out of hiding like a snake oozing out from under a rock.
Hm, the graveyard.
He leant on the bed and crossed his arms over his chest, stroking his chin thoughtfully. Well, he could think about that later. For time being, she'd left him alone in the examination room. Joy.
He walked back over to the bucket and put his hand in, retrieving the sponge. He rinsed it under the tap, making sure that it was clean, and proceeded to give the room a quick, cursory scrub. It took him a long time, but in the meanwhile his skills as a thief allowed him to pocket a few things in the lining of his pants with the cameras none the wiser. A few pairs of the rubber gloves, a spare stethoscope, a small roll of bandaging cloth and, best of all, a pair of surgical scissors. He wasn't going to rush out of here... ouch. He walked out of the room, entering the infirmary proper. Some of the people who had been waiting to be seen were still sat there, glaring at him. He smirked smugly and passed on, not really caring for their troubles. However, he did address a short man who was sitting down. He had lumpy, reddish skin and a pair of leering pink eyes.
"The service here is most excellent, isn't it?" Mathew enquired of him politelly, before moving on and having to hold his smarmy laughter in. He spotted the first nurse and she held a hand up for him to halt.
"It's alright," he said, aware that her eyes were staring incredulously at the swinging stethoscope in his pants, "I've been serviced." He finished with a wink. Her mouth made a small "O" and he grinned like a Cheshire cat as he passed, before escaping out of the door and into the main office. The moment he was out of sight his smile dropped and the cold, meticulous expression took its rightful place.
Haddix looked at the stitches that the doctor had put into his hands. The work was done well, but it wouldn't reverse everything that the razor wire fencing had done to him. There was a tap on the door, as one of the guards looked into the room, a stern visage on his face. "Well, looks like my cab's here," Haddix said. "Nice meeting you, Colyn." He let a nurse wrap the stitches heavily in bandages and pushed the door open.
"So where am I headed to now?" He asked the guard passively.
"The Graveyards, son." The older man said with a stern look on his face.

"Take it easy kid, I'm not going to eat you. And I'll make sure they don't either. Trust me, you'll be glad you only have to work with the guards. Most of them are jerks." He can hardly listen to the last sentence, but he knew she meant him well. He felt relieved that someone like her was his superior instead of zealots. He did agree (for the most part) that some of the staff here are jerks though.
Another new comer enterer the scene as the doc was giving her final evaluation on Alex. She was a… lycon? Err, cat of tiger? He toyed with the question in his mind.
"You wanted to check me out, is that right?"
Gwen merely nodded once. And pointed to a curtained off beds. Oops."Can you wait over there? I'll be right there." He closed his eyes and think for a moment. What was he suppose to do if they’re female patients when Gwendolyn weren’t around… Hopefully some of the nurses here could actually help.
"I don't want you working on that fence for a week but no one ever takes my advice. So if the Neanderthals in Gaurd Green stick you there anyway, make sure you wear these. Come back in two days, so I can check those stitches."
Back to reality and stop day dreaming.
The doc promptly turned to Colyn and handed him the clipboard that held his paperwork, and added a few extra sheets on top. Okay, a few is an understatement. "This is a list of camp residents, mutations, personal info, etcetera, etcetera. The ones highlighted are on our Frequent Visitor Program. Take a glance through it so you know who you're going to be dealing with. I'll be right back. Don't go too far. I want to test and see just how strong that healing of yours is." Before she left, she asked him one last question. “And let me know if you can heal scars too."
“Yes, I can do that.” He told her as he flipped through the stack of name lists and profiles on the clipboard. He though working as a waiter in a Chinese restaurant was hard. He caught glimpses of names that he remembered when talking with the guards, but fortunately the notorious individuals were not on the Frequent Visitor Program.
"Well, looks like my cab's here," He had just flipped on to Alan’s profile when he said his farewell. "Nice meeting you, Colyn." As he let a nurse wrapped the stitches in bandages Colyn returned his goodbye with his own.
“If there’s anything I can do to help, come to me and I’ll do my best to assist. Bye then.” As Alan left the room, he found that he was with the nurse who showed him to Gwendolyn. He nodded at her in a friendly manner, but she merely returned him with a cold stare. He sighed as he continued to flip through the profiles. There were a few that caught his eyes, more importantly, he wanted to check whether his aunt was here. Although he had no idea if she was a mutant or not, but if she were here…
Alan Haddix.
Mathew Mitchell.
Nika Taylor.
…
A surge of relief and disappointment filled up his heart and his mind as the name didn’t turn up. Perhaps it was for the best.

(OOC: Apologies for the delay. )
IC: "No, it doesn't hurt but then I haven't been allowed to exert myself fully either."
Gwen examined the scar carefully, looking for any signs of infection or anything else. Even though it had been two months, she couldn't be too careful, though she had to admit, she was driven more by curiosity. Natalie healing Nika had, apparently, been an accident. Would there be a scar if it had been healed purposefully?
"Gwen can I ask you something? Are those new guys mutants also?"
"Mmm hmm," she replied. "One's a draft pick, but yes, both are mutants." She motioned for the girl to put her dress back down. "I'm not sure whether to say you're lucky or unlucky," she stated blandly. "It looks to be healing just fine. Which means you can do normal work now." She narrowed one eye slightly. "If you can call anything here 'normal'."
She paused a moment. "How do you feel about being a guinea pig?"
She'd heard Colyn's answer to her last question. She was curious to see his mutation in action, and Nika was, so conveniently, available at the moment.
Once Gwen was finished looking over the scar the woman instructed Nika to cover herself again. That was something the cat girl was all too happy to do. She had had enough of being uncovered by the guards. It happened so often it almost became routine, and sadly Nika was starting to think that was just what it was supposed to be. Though in some ways it reminded her of life with her step-father and deep down she wanted to kill every last one of them that touched her.
"This place is going to leave it's mark on alot of people."
Her train of thought was broken as Gwen asked a rather strange question. One that Nika had never been asked before.
"Please don't tell me you're going to experiment on me. I've heard of things like that and it never goes well."
Nika's body language was shouting nervousness. Everything was weighing down on her. Being trapped, abused, mentally drained and not knowing when she might get out of this dreadful place was bringing Nika ever closer to her breaking point.

"Please don't tell me you're going to experiment on me. I've heard of things like that and it never goes well."
Gwen frowned and shook her head. "Of course not. This isn't a science lab." Though the guards were treating it as a biology lab... "You still got a nasty scar. One of those boys out there claims he can heals scars."
Perhaps Gwen came across as a bit cross and harsh, but she didn't mean to. But as Nika said, the Camps had left a mark on her as well.
Taking a moment to think of what Gwen had said Nika nodded.
"If he really can heal scars then I'll let him try."
She was still uneasy as she wasn't quite sure what to expect really. Maybe the boy could do what Gwen says he can do. Nika started wondering if she should let him heal her other scars as well.

(OOC: k, I'll leave this up to you two, Nika and Colyn, how far you want this to go.)
"If he really can heal scars then I'll let him try."
Gwen could tell the catgirl was uneasy. But she nodded and agreed, so Gwen decided to go with it, unless either of them decided they didn't want to go through with it.
She stepped out from behind the curtain, and looked around for Colyn.
"Colyn. Over here." She motioned him over. "Let's take a look at this healing ability of yours. One of the girls has a scar she's willing to let you try and heal." She paused to allow him to either agree or disagree.

He continued flipping through the sheets on the clipboard. One would think that he was doing his job seriously, but actually he was just interested in the others’ profiles. To tell the truth, sometimes he felt that he was mutant in name only as in his neighbourhood, some of the people he grew up with actually approved of him, as a human being and as a friend. They had supported him when his only family member disappeared and persuaded him to register so that he won’t be hunted.
He had shared a lot with them, his friends.
He could remember how they were together when they were young, playing pranks on people (he was naturally the one running away the fastest) and generally having fun. Although his aunt told him not to tell anyone about his power, sometimes he felt compelled to help.
There was once when a friend of his fell down the stairs and he healed his wounds with a single touch, though the pain that his friend should have felt transferred to him but that was okay. He made a friend that supported him throughout his life. His lips curled up a bit as he reminiscence. The past seemed to be so far away now.
The sound of curtains pulled aside grabbed his attention. He turned his head over and saw Gwendolyn beckoned him. “Colyn. Over here. Let's take a look at this healing ability of yours. One of the girls has a scar she's willing to let you try and heal. ”
“Ah. Coming now.” He nodded at her and he moved along, the clipboard still on his hands. “You are talking about her, right?” He looked at the cat girl with white hair who went passed by her earlier. She seemed unsettled as she sat there. “My name is Colyn, nice to meet you.”
He smiled warmly at her, although he himself was quite nervous…
Gwen pulled aside the curtain and called for Colyn to come over. Nika saw an asian boy roughly her age and height reply and make his way over. He was holding a clipboard, but Nika simply thought it was some stuff he was being made to fill out so she disregauded it. The cat girl could tell that this Colyn fellow was also nervous both from his voice and body language to his smell. Yet, he did what he could to come across as a friendly.
"Hi Colyn, I'm Nika. It's nice to meet you too. You can heal scars is that right?"
She looked him over more carefully now that he was closer.

"Hi Colyn, I'm Nika. It's nice to meet you too. You can heal scars is that right?"
He could feel that she was observing him very carefully, but at least she wasn’t showing any aggression. That was better than what he had hoped for. He thought that he might have to do some persuasion first though.
“Yes, I can heal scars. Nika.”
He moved closer to the catgirl and he somehow felt more nervous than before… He took a very deep breath. What was wrong with him?
"Does it hurt?"
“No, it won’t hurt. Though you might have some numbing feeling on where your scars are.” If there’s going to be any pain, he would be the only one feeling anyway. Well, he was not healing any serious injury was he?

Gwen held out her hand for Colyn's clipboard to let him work. Then she moved to the side, where she could oversee and observe, but not be in the way. Her eyes narrowed slightly in concentration.
Colyn reasurred Nika but for some reason he seemed to be getting more vervous. This in turn wasn't helping Nika feel much better.
"So I'm gonna feel numb where I have scars? Does that mean you heal all the scars on a person or just ones you touch? I'm only asking because if you heal all the scars then I'm gonna feel numb everywhere."
Even though Nika had on the restraint collar she still ran her fingers over the device and imagined she was touching the scar on her neck. What would it be like to not have the scar on her neck anymore? Did she really want it to go away? Nika saw Gwen take the clipboard from Colyn and then stand back to watch.

He gave a nod of appreciation as Gwendolyn took the clipboard from him.
"So I'm gonna feel numb where I have scars? Does that mean you heal all the scars on a person or just ones you touch? I'm only asking because if you heal all the scars then I'm gonna feel numb everywhere."
His eyebrows locked together as he listened. More than one scars? He thought Gwendolyn said only one scar. Are the people in the camp that dangerous that even some one as young as her had to be disciplined with such force that left permanent marks on her body? He felt a fire burning within his soul for some reason.
“I could heal all the scars on your body with one touch, don’t worry. As for the numbing thing, that was how my friends described it.” What he didn’t tell her was that they also mentioned that the healing touch was pretty addicting for some reason. He felt his anxiety slowly wears off as time went by, and he tried to ignore the uncertainties in Nika’s eyes.
He wasn’t quite as dependable as he thought he was.
“It’s time, let’s get this over with.” He told the cat girl with a serious tone and his hand reached out to hers.
"Well, ok then I guess you can heal all my scars if you want."
Nika was still unsure about losing her pit fighting scars but Colyn was wanting to get to work. So, she placed her hand in his and waited. His hand was warm. Something she wasn't used to feeling since being in the camp.
