The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Neena was only out for a minute or so, since her eyes reverted to normal when she passed out. Thanks to Natalie, when she did finally come around, her vision remained normal, as opposed to the usual scrambled sight she experienced when waking.
"I'm awake, I'm awake," she grumbled as Natalie and Sara tried to rouse her. She found herself sitting upright against the wall. Her arm was numb and tingly, as if it had fallen asleep. She rubbed her wrist irritably. "Stupid contraption.... What happened?"
Deathstar was about to respond to the little fox girl rude comment as the exploision shot through Deathstar's ears, She ducked into a fetal position then slowly standing up again. Deathstar knew this was the moment of freedom, she was desperate to leave this place even if it takes her life.
Neena tells everyone to stand back as she goes out to the field and investigate while being followed by two others. "Neena Don't be crazy--" not able to finish her statement Deathstar stood inside the barracks ready for anythihg that was about to take place.
As Neena returned she notice she was a bit unconcious, Deathstar knew this was the result of using her powers while wearing the bracelet. The other two women propped Neena against the wall as she awoke from being shocked, ""Stupid contraption.... What happened?" , Neena said as she came into conciousness. Deathstar rushed thru the two women helping Neena. "your okay!, Now tell us what the hell is going on out there" she said while holding Neena's upper body against the wall trying to keep her from falling over.

Ooc: yay home for the holidays!

Everything was happening so fast that Raina barely had a chance to process anything. One minute they were all attempting to be 'normal' and the next there was a loud noise and in came the bots. She was slammed back into her room and she wondered if they knew Natalie had used her powers. Neena seemed to be unphased most times so she knew isolation couldnt bother the woman too much, it was Natalie she was worried about.
Raina sat back on her bed feeling much like a teenager just caight doing something wrong and waiting for the inevitible punishment. They'd been in here nearly two months... she knew Christmas must be a few days away... and there simple attempt at being normal was thawrted by trouble in the men's side. She wondered who's been causing it...
"your okay!, Now tell us what the hell is going on out there"
Neena massaged her arm, trying to get the tingling to stop. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little shock. Looks like a couple of the boys just managed a prison break of sorts." Perhaps that bit of info would bolster the girls just that much more tonight.
"You have used your mutant ability within the camp. You will now be removed and taken to isolation."
... Or not...
Neena frowned as a pair of Stalkers made a rather loud entrance to the Barracks and zoomed in on her. She moved away from the others in a scuttling motion, but quickly was hauled up and out of the building. She felt like a sack of potatoes the way she was being slung around.
"Hey! Take it easy! Owowow! Ow!" She punched the back of the machine's head, then shook her fist out painfully. She grumbled and cursed in Swahili under her breath the entire way to the little cells.
They were trying to get ready for a slumber party when there was a bunch of commotion from outside. The sounds of explosions thundered over the area. Nika's ears layed back flat as she ducked down. What's going on? Are we under attack? she thought.
Next Neena went outside followed by Natalie and they were gone for several minutes. When they came back into the barracks Neena looked kind of drained, but before Nika could ask any questions a pair of those creepy robots burst in and snatched up Neena and Natalie. They said something about using powers.
"What just happened and why did those things take Neena and Natalie? They weren't doing anything. Were they?"

((Okay In order to get things moving we are gonna time jump to next day.))
Since the escape the day before, it would seem that the guards were extra harsh on the prisoner's. It was if they were sensing some big uproar was going to happen. All day that day the prisoner's had to work extra hard and extra fast or being at risk of being hit.
Now it was dark and the women and Men alike were getting back to the bunks. It was about twenty minutes till lights out and the women were ether discussing or preparing for the next day.
Ruby Lupin was the last one who had entered the barracks, followed by a long lanky guard. He pulled at the fox girls tail, causing her to yelp.
"Looks like the kid has lost her guard dog. Doesn't that mean you are free game?" the male smirked as he approached the terrified Ruby, who's only defense was a spork.
"Please go away, my big sister will come and hurt you!" Ruby yelped as he stalked up to her.
"Yea right!" The male stated but before he could get anything else out another guard pulled him away from the fox girl.
Ruby was curious as to why that happened but didn't question it. She was about to go over to her bunk when a voice rose up among the various womens voices.
"What? No good night Hug?"
Ruby turned around very slowly only to see her older sister, grinning like a loon. The fox girl noticed Emerald was a bit worse for wear, with the bruises all over her arms and legs. She also saw all the cuts that covered her body, that ranged sizes. The tiny fox girl's eyes welled up with tears as she bolted over to her elder sister, hugging her.
"EMMY!" She exclaimed, hugging the older girl gently. "I thought they took you away forever!"
Emerald grinned lightly, ruffling Ruby's hair gently. "Ruby It is gonna take more than this place to kill me. Also I had a little help from a friend, which I will tell you about later."
Ruby nodded, attempting to help Emerald to her bed until the wolf girl growled at her. The Fox girl then remembered that Emerald hated being treated as if she was weak and the fox girl also knew that Emerald was too stubborn to admit she was really hurt.
"Emmy you should go to the infirmary! You got more bruises then skin! You're cuts could get infected!"
"I'm fine Ruby." The wolf girl replied, irritably
As Emerald climbed into the bed she groaned in pain and as soon as her back hit the bed she let out a sharp bark of pain.
"No you aren't" Ruby explained to the groaning wolf girl.
"Yes I am, just a few bruises."
((feel free to convince Emerald otherwise other women in the barracks. She looks like hell.))
"Look, I... I may not be an explorer, or an adventurer, or a treasure-seeker, or a gunfighter, Mr. O'Connell, but I am proud of what I am."
Making her way, slowly back to the barracks for one night's full sleep, Cari was cautious to make her path direct. She had missed most of the action from the night before because of the extra work she had been assigned over the last few days. She was required as part of her job in the Front Office to finish all the filing for the current residents. Her work, along with a few others who were constant patients of the infirmary, was about a month behind and she hadn't slept in the last 36 hours.
Luckily for Cari, her upbeat and obedient demeanor got her the title of the healthiest in the camp. She ate the questionable food, not letting a single crumb go ungratified. Though she sometimes did her best to share with others who really needed it. She had a simple, though mind tiring, job in the Front Office and often did her best to actually enjoy her cleaning work. The real position she occupied was attempting to keep up the spirits and peace of the camp. This was probably the most difficult job she found herself doing, but she promised herself she wouldn't stop.
Her appearance didn't differ much from the other girls besides the lack of constant injury. Her usually brilliant and voluminous hair was now dull and flat. Her skin had lost it's perfectly tanned complexion and was now a sickly peach while her body, which was usually slender, but healthy, was now frail. She didn't know what her hands even looked like anymore from the constant coverage she was forced to wear since her powers were involuntary. She was not required to wear the shocking bracelets others had, but her sensing abilities were useful as a worker in the Front Office and her magnification powers couldn't be used with the gloves that were unable to be removed. However, through all this, Cari's eyes always held a glimmer of hope, a shine of joy, and a caring that she did her best to spread to all her other campmates.
Finally reaching the barracks, she found two guards exiting and heading straight for her. She looked down, trying to walk away without any confrontation. However, one seemed.. a bit intoxicated or possibly just in an over aggressive mood. He grabbed her arm, covered in the long sleeves that trailed into her gloves at the wrist. She tried to pull away but he pulled harder.
"Hey there girl," his grin sent a sick squirm through Cari's empty stomach, "maybe we should take this one with us. She's a file worker, she can't be too weak to--" Cari pulled harder as he spoke to his partner who seemed to be deciding whether to stop him or not. Cari knew beatings weren't the only crime these male guards did to abuse the women's spirits and this guard was going directly there. "Fine!" the guard who held her yelled in her face before twisting her arm and forcing her to the ground. Cari screamed, her face thrown to the dirt. She couldn't be safe forever..
Moments passed, the pain ensued as the guard broke her left arm, figuring she was a righty and could still do her work. Unfortunately for Cari.. she was right handed. She lifted her wounded limb, figuring it was far too late to go to the infirmary now..
As she entered the barracks, she noticed Emerald and Ruby reuniting and couldn't help but smile through her pain. Working in the Front Office, you hear about all the reports on power abuse, either by guards or mutants, and she knew Ruby would've been lonely without her sister. She glanced around weakly at the other females, cradling her arm before deciding to crawl in bed instead of socializing.
"Good night everyone.." she whispered mostly to herself, so as to not bother anyone else.
Sara had managed to only receive a few shocks the day before. Mostly received for her tongue taking comical advantage of the guards. Nothing new. She was too stubborn to learn to hold her breath at the right moments. Plus when she was alone doing her work, she just didn’t care.
Hearing Ruby yelp, she propped herself up on one elbow, checking out who the guard was. Her form was relaxed but her eyes alert. Waiting. The words she exchanged with Rupert the day before filtered back through her mind about the younger people stuck here. Yet this behavior was still accepted. Disgusting.
She leaned back quietly on her bed. Relieved the guard had disappeared. Listening to the following conversation.
Shya had made it into the barracks few minute ago. Muddy streaks lined her cheeks left by tears she had cried a bit ago. The streeks still felt dry and sticky at the same time. Her unseeing eyes blinked repeatedly and the whites around her irises had turned red. There had been three deaths in the camp. (This was mentioned in the guards Barracks with Rupert.) All of witch she had personally buried. Her guard escort, James found pleasure, humming as she worked on three resting places. What was hardest was the fact he wouldn’t tell her who the bodies belonged to, that she was putting in the ground. She’d discover that later through who she knew was missing.
She smoothed her hair back from her face, Taking a steady breath. Then another. Swallowing. Her warm smile returned to her face as she heard Ruby’s foot steps come in. The expression faltered when she heard the guard. Then the moans and protest’s from Emerald. Shya shook her head as she stood up from her bed and made her way to sit next to the wolf girl and her sister.
“I respect strength, Especially being a baby myself when it comes to pain.” Her cane clicked against the corner fo the bed and she halted. “But even I done make a sound like that at a couple of bruses.”
“Your sister’s worried about you.” Shya didn’t need her empathic abilities to tell that fact. “Ever think about that you going wouldn’t just be for yourself?”
The Stalker bots rushed in knocking Deathstar back along with the other two women, "What the...." Deathstar said to herself while helplessly watching the bots take Neena away. "You don't have to be so.......rough!" Deathsstar yelled as she stood from off the ground, these bots were made to have no compassion, They only had one thing in mind and that was to remove any possible threats. The altercation ended quick before it began, Deathstar stood firm with her signature stance, arms folded across her chest with a mean stern look upon her face, she hated her position, standing on the sidelines and not being able to do anything to help her fellow comrades.
Deathstar slowly walked back to her bunk slowly releasing a dreadful sigh while pulling her hair to the back of her head with both hands. "Will this ever end?" She says softly to herself as she lay in her bunk facing the oposite position from the other girls.
The next day had come, nothing out of the ordinary for Deathstar, everyday seem as if it will never end. Countless hours gravedigging is the consequences for something she did a couple of weeks ago. Deathstar tried to not to give up hope for freedom but as the days passes by, she realizes it may just only be a dream and maybe she will have to get used to this place.
As Deathstar walks heavily from a hard days work into the barracks She immediately notices a bruised and battered Emerald, the wolf-girl whom she resented, her curiosity took over Deathstar's mind as she detoured her path from her bunk and now walking toward Emerald's bunk. Deathstar stood over Emerald bunk , looking at her wounds and then back at her face, "What the hell happened to you?" she says stern and with no emotion, "I think little fox-girl is right, you should get checked that checked out, no need for us to have a three legged dog running around" Deathstar still remain in her composure, not trying to be sarcastic but wanting to her to be alive and well for her little fox sister, Deathstar knew what is was like to have no family, she didn't want anyone to experience that not even her worst enemies.
Neena yawned as she strode back to the Barracks. Isolation really wasn't that bad in her opinion. Other than the food, or lack thereof, it was a decent way to catch up on missed sleep. Actually she felt rather refreshed, and hummed quietly as she walked back. With everyone on edge because of the previous night's escape, it was a miracle she made it back to the Barracks without a random guard, taking out his or her anger on the African woman.
Back in the Barracks, Neena missed the dialogue, but there was an odd mix of an atmosphere in the air. Happiness from Ruby that her sister was back. Cynical, yet worried interest from Deathstar. Pain from Cari, and confidence from Shya. She stood in the doorway, looking around for a moment. Then she yawned and stretched.
"Well, look what the cat dragged in. Lose a fight with the razor?" She teased Emerald with an easy smile, but there was no smile in her colorless eyes. As she drew closer, she could see the many cuts on the girl's body. Unless Emerald had issues with self-mutilation, someone else had been practicing surgery on her.
Whistling a bit, Neena moved to her own bunk, and pulled out a small piece of fabric in the side. From inside she pulled a small, square green can, and a roll of bandages. The Bag Balm was one of the larger things that Shrapnel had help her smuggle away in the first days of the camp. The yellow salve did wonders for healing minor cuts and abrasions, and keeping infections out of larger gashes.
She moved over to Emerald, set the items on her bunk and without being given permission, she began applying the salve liberally. Then she added bandages over them. She whistled as she worked. The girl's iron attitude didn't faze her in the least, and she ignored any snaps or growls aimed her way during the process.
"So," she said aloud to the other girls, "did I miss anything exciting today?" As if this life were the only one she'd known.
Emerald did let out grumbles for a while, occasionally swatting at Neena's hand but she got over it after a while, looking like a child who just lost a fight. The wolf girl them looked over at Ruby who looked up at her with happy eyes. Em was surprised about this, considering Ruby hadn't been happy since she had gotten here.
The fox girl hugged her elder sister happily, placing the extra pillow she had gotten from customs on her sisters side of the bunk.
"You are going to be comfy tonight okay emmy? No more going after guards." The fox girl growled at her elder sister, who looked up at her with a small grin.
"Well I did sorta accidentally beat the guy up pretty badly for hurting your tail. I would have killed him if it wasn't for Bloodfang coming in." Emerald grumbled
Ruby's look turned into one of pure dread. She knew what Bloodfang could do to her big sister and she also knew what he had been trying to do. The fox girl's thoughts turned to a silent prayer hoping that Bloodfang did not have Emerald for too long.
"Emmy...did he-"
"No he didn't."
Ruby smiled again, relieved that her older sister was really alright. She was happy now that Emerald was safe with her again...well safe as one could be in a hell like this.
Emerald heard Neena make a comment of Werther or not she missed anything exciting and Emerald grinned weakly.
"Well, I was attacked by a Psychopathic guard who is a mutant who likes the taste of blood so two pints of my blood are ether on the floor of his bunk now or in his stomach. But I got replacement blood so I won't be dying anytime soon." Emerald responded in a cheerful tone.
Emerald thought about what would have happened if Mike hadn't saved her when he did and she shuddered to think what Bloodfang would have done. This was the first time he had gotten as far as he did, it was eerie and she still felt his claws and his lips on her cuts. She began to scratch at the bandages on her arms, trying to get the feeling away from her body. That horrible slicing feeling as well as the grime from beneath his claws oozing into her open wound. She could still feel it.
She could still feel everything he did.
It still hurt for some reason.
Ruby was extremely confused as to why her sister was scratching herself like she was. She looked over at the other women for aide, not knowing what was to be done about this.
((its aftereffects of What Bloodfang did. Post traumatic stress and a bunch of other things I can't think of the names for. Emerald's Iron Defenses are starting to chip and this is one of the times when her insecurity shines through.))
Sara sat in her bed the same she had the night before. With her knees drawn up to her chest. Arms holding her knees close.
She listened to the news about the guard. Ruby and Emerald didn’t need to finish they sentences for her to figure things out.
She was going through the same. Her hands twisted tight around the walking stick she had been issued. Her knuckles turned white for a moment. Instead of opening her mouth right away she sat on the bunk next to the bunk Emerald lay in. Gathering her own thoughts. Emerald was strong. Shya had taken note of that but other people she had taken note of being strong had been put in the ground by her own hands.
Suddenly her bracelet gave a warning buzz making her jump from her thoughts. Her empathic had kicked in and she quickly pulled herself back in her seat. She could trade emotions with the other girl but then a Bot would come in. That would only make things worst. One hand absentmindedly scratched her other arm.

ooc: AHAHAH BAG BALM when I first saw that in a store I thought it was for breast feeding women! "for chapped teats and hard milkers" lmao
IC:
Raina joined the group of girls to look in on Emmy and see how the others were doing. She walked passed Sara and felt a strange someone walked over your grave sort of chill. She stopped for a moment and looked at the girl. She didn't think she'd met her before but there was something oddly familiar about the woman. She shrugged it off and took a seat.
They'd all be sent to the mess hall soon for breakfast- not that she could stomach it.
(OOC: So did I Raina, lol My mom cracked up when I asked her about it, when I was little. lol)
Neena listened to Emerald's story, appearing impassive on the outside. She had an idea of which guard the girl was talking about, though she wasn't sure. Yet another name to add to her list of secret sabotauge. Maybe she should put some extra starch in his underwear. Or some some habanero powder. She'd seen that on a shelf in the kitchen once, when delivering dish towels. That out to help out that libido a bit....
Emerald began scratching. Out of the corner of her eye she saw Shya flinch slightly, and also begin scratching. Neena reached out and took Emerald's hand firmly, but gently, to stop her.
"Let the bandages set for an hour, to give the balm a chance to soak in a bit. Then I suggest you take one of the other girls and go take a shower. It might make you feel better." Neena had a strong suspicion that this scratching had something to do with the experience; some of those slices had obviously been placed strategically by a twisted mind.
She turned to Shya and smiled; the girl may have been blind, but Neena felt even she could 'feel' a smile.
Gathering up her supplies, she returned to her bunk and rehid everything. "Are you hanging in there?" she asked Sara, in the bunk below, in a low voice. Raina was nearby as well. "This might help that as well." She pointed to Raina's legs. "You know where it is if you need it."
Sight, mutation-aided or not, was Neena's realm. Very little escaped her notice.
Shya pulled her hand away from her arm. No more scratching it was the empathy. Not really her itch or sting. Her chin lifted feeling Neena’s look. She nodded with her head tilted slightly, pulling a small smile across her face. Neena moved to put the bandages away. Shya leaned in Emerald’s direction. “If you want someone to accompany you outside the barracks, later, I’ll follow.” She offered the wolf girl.
Sara glanced up as Raina passed. She’d of course been in the same barracks before with the girl but at that moment she was having the strangest sense of de-ja-vu. Her head tilted to the side as Raina passed. Neena’s voice pulled her attention away from the other girl.
"Are you hanging in there?"
“As good as is to be expected.” She eased herself back against the frame of the bed. Looking up at the bottom side of Neena’s bunk. Sara had lost weight do to her accelerated healing that kicked in every time she got shocked, and vise versa. Other then looking thin, she was holding strong. “How are you?” She returned the question.
