The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Ryoga would be unable to sleep much tonight, though he slept very little to begin with. His new home, this Mansion for mutants was not designed for a God, it's halls and rooms too small to fit his grandiose form, forcing him to remain outside this night until something could be built for him. The school assured him they'd come up with something shortly, but he still felt the heavy annoyance with their lack of hospitality so far. He'd have to complain to his Mother when next they spoke.
He lumbered across the Mansion's grounds, his heavy form leaving deep footprints as his claws dug into the Earth. The night was an interesting time, far more serene than the day, as the humans were all dead asleep or locked inside for fear of chill. Such frail organisms, a little bit of snow or icy wind and they donned as much clothing as possible. He made his way towards a garden, a beautiful sight beneath the moon light. Ryoga did enjoy nature, the gentle embrace of fauna and flora calmed his mind and cleared the frustration from his heart. He was careful as he walked forward, avoiding damaging the plant life with his wings, feet, or tail, though the latter was hard to do when it just dragged behind him lazily.
Though this Mansion was not his compound in Japan, this place had it's merits, and the mutants that dwelled with were certainly interesting creatures. So varied and unique, yet all still human. Even with great powers man could not overcome his short comings it seemed, unlike Ryoga. Born a god, his power stolen straight from America's greatest weapon and transformed into Japanese legend, he was magnificent. Though the abundance of these mutants made him wonder if some kind of relation was possible, could their powers also stem from some event in history? Perhaps he'd have to request some research be done when he returned to Japan.
As he made his way towards the center of a garden, he stopped to gaze up at the moon. An odd feeling, Ryoga knew the light shining off the Moon was simply light it leeched from the Sun, but it "tasted" different to the Sun's natural light. It wasn't just the lack of heat, there was more too it. Perhaps there was something fundamentally different about the Moon's stolen shine, or maybe he just preferred the warmth present in the day. Curious indeed, the dragon chose to simply enjoy the moment as another presence came upon him.

It had been a while since Victoria had taken a stroll outside. Even though everything wasn’t as brilliant and vibrant as it probably was in the day time, the night time still had its own splendor to offer. Plus there were the moon flowers Kait had planted for her. Those always brought a smile to her face.
Tonight had a slight mystery to it as some strange imprints were discovered in the softer parts of the ground. Definitely not human feet or even the markings of shoes. These looked bigger and more animal like.
Continuing to follow the direction of the foot prints Victoria pondered through her mind what could possibly…HOLY DRAGON!! She froze as she had approached a rather large dragon looking thing. Wings, dragon head, claws, tail….DRAGON! A gulp was the only sound from the girl.
Ryoga sat, his eyes glued to the sky as his guest approached. Her foot steps were soft, but he heard them all the same. He turned his head, one amber orb glaring at Victoria's small frame. The girl seemed stunned, or awe struck by his form, an expected reaction. "Konbanwa little human. What has you out so late?" The dragon asked, his voice powerful and fierce. Ryoga hadn't seen the girl before, though there were many humans he hadn't met yet, or had met and didn't recognize. She was smaller than any of the other women he'd met so far, perhaps a child or very young teen? He wasn't sure, age wasn't something he really cared for. He was quite certain he'd end up being immortal after all.
Slowly the dragon began to turn, his large form taking a few steps to finish moving. His wings were curled up, being used as legs, but his majesty was still easy to observe, though at night his dark tone made seeing his scales more difficult. However the easiest thing to see were those bright, fiery eyes in his head, both of them now staring down at Victoria. "Tell me girl, what is your name?" He inquired, curious whom he had enraptured with his presence this time. "My name has spread much throughout this school so far, but I still give it in case you don't know, I am Orochi. And I am a God born of Japan." He introduced himself with pride and self importance.
It was somewhat difficult to make out the girl's form as she was so much smaller than himself, so his neck and head began to lower closer to the ground, trying to meet his field of vision with the girl's short height. "Are you another of the mutants that live in the Mansion?" He questioned.

The dragon spoke but it said something Victoria didn’t understand. The way the statement sounded it sounded like a possible greeting, or maybe a warning. However with the question that followed the girl opted to accept the first statement as a greeting and offered her own in return. “Tere Orochi. My name is Victoria and yes I am a mutant living here at the mansion.”
She watched the dragon change positions to look at her directly. Her big red eyes met his fiery orbs. She did not move even when Orochi lowered his head down to her level. Instead she continued to look at him with amazement. “I’m always up at night, and I had heard people talking about a dragon being here. So I decided to look for myself. I hope you don’t mind. I’ve only seen dragons in books and movies.”
Looking Orochi over even as she spoke her childish curiousity got the best of her. “Do you know Smaug?” She had thought it was unlikely as Smaug only existed in books and movies, but then here was a dragon right in front of her. Doesn’t hurt to ask. “What brings you here so far from your home?”
Greetings and names exchanged, a perfectly polite start to a conversation. Manners were important to the dragon, his own culture quite caught up in them. Besides her manners though, Ryoga noticed the girl's name. Victoria, a regal name, a feel that Ryoga could empathize with. "A lovely name." He complimented, sure the girl would be quite thrilled to receive the praise of a God. As he lowered himself to her height, he noticed the girl showed no fear or intimdation on his part, keeping her gaze right on his. Impressive for a child.
Odd for a girl to remain up during the late hours, though Ryoga spend nearly all of each day awake, his unique metabolism requiring little to no sleep. "You seem young, odd that you would stay up during the night." He commented, unaware that the girl's mutation gave her a unique lifestyle as well. Her secondary comment however got a chuckle out of him. "I do not mind, it is natural to look upon me. I am like none other." The dragon's pride oozed out of his words, his superior view of himself and his own mutation quite evident.
Ah, again a reference to the Tolkien dragon. It seemed this character was the first to come to mind here in America, a famous work of literature that Ryoga was familiar with, his collection back in Japan containing the works of Tolkien. "Tolkien's Dragon, I know this character. A proud, powerful creature." He mused, his own status as a dragon letting him empathize with the character as sympathetic as opposed to just his villainous status. "My Mother asked me to come to New York, she believed there was some valuable lesson to be learned here." It was odd, such a large and powerful creature, with delusions of Godhood, and yet still respectful and mindful of his human mother. Though Victoria didn't necessarily know his mother was a Human considering Ryoga's form.
And what of this little girl? What purpose did Victoria have here at this Mansion, a home for those with powers beyond the norm. "And you Victoria? What makes you different than the humans?" He asked, curious as to what the girl's power or mutation was.

Orochi’s compliment was received with a very cheerful smile. Victoria took great delight when someone liked something about her no matter what it was. “Aitah Orochi! I like your name as well. Does it have a meaning? Mine means victory.” Her voice was very cheerful and light hearted. She was enjoying talking with a dragon.
When Orochi spoke of Smaug and referred to him as ‘Tolkien’s Dragon’, she knew full well who Tolkien was as she had read his books back at home. However, the glint of a possibility that such a creature as Smaug did exist somewhere at some point in time remained. With Orochi, a living breathing dragon, standing right in front of her then why couldn’t there be others who have lived throughout time? “You’re definitely unique.”
“My mother and father suggested I come here to learn as well. They know it’s a place for special people who can do special things.” Her thoughts drifted off for a moment to images of her parents, but quickly she refocused on the mighty dragon. “Yes I am young. I’m one of the younger mutants staying here.” Victoria knew she wasn’t the youngest but there were so many more who were older than herself. “What makes me different other than being awake at night is that I don’t break.”
As always, Ryoga's words were well received. But of course they would be, the praise of a God was worth a person's weight in gold. Or at least Ryoga valued himself that much. A sprinkle of Japanese in her words brought some joy to the dragon as they began to converse. His mother tongue was far preferred to the English he had to speak with most here in New York. "Victory, a surprising wish for a daughter. Perhaps you're father wished for you to be strong." The dragon thought aloud, before explaining his own name. "My Father chose it for me. It means Great Serpent, though you could consider it another way of simply saying Dragon." His Father had personally believed Ryoga was a reincarnation of the great Yamato no Orochi, an 8 headed dragon deity. "He believes me to be a God of Destruction and Wrath." The dragon explained, his words powerful and loud.
But of course he was unique, this modern era was filled with various peoples, technologies, and mutants of all powers. But a God was always a step above, especially one such as a Dragon, the most magnificent of divine beasts. "Indeed, I am one of a kind. But I have come to see that this city of mutants is unique as well. Each of you is vastly different to one another." He was still curious what made the girl a mutant. She seemed like nothing more than a frail little girl, another of the various humans whose soul purpose was to serve some greater purpose, such as his own. But there was more to mutants than their simple human facade.
So this school welcomed children of all ages, Ryoga had seen adults and teenagers, but it would be surprising to see children here with such wondrous powers as the others he had already met. The most powerful statement Victoria had made to Ryoga so far though was her last. Such a simple phrase, but it made him think quite a bit. She did not break? Could something so small truly not be broken? He lowered head and glared at her for a moment, his eyes unable to see any signs of strength or power in someone so petite. "You do not break? Interesting, your form is little Victoria, and the human form is so frail to begin with. Would you not break from even the mightiest blow?" In his mind he wondered how her power worked, what if he smashed her with his wing? Would she not snap in half like any other mortal? Though he imagined it, he had no intention of harming her.

Continuing to listen to Orochi speak, Victoria was liking the serpent more and more. She found him interesting in many ways. The way he regarded things such as names and titles. Not many did that here in America. At least not the way that people from the “Old World” did. Kings, Queens, Emperors and such. The girl always loved majestic things and Kings, Queens and dragons all fell in that category for her.
“I am pretty tough.” A nod accompanied her statement. “So I guess my father’s wish came true.” Striking a playful pose she pretended to flex her muscles like a typical super hero. “I do agree that the human form is rather frail…” Thoughts of some of the things she had done to people flashed through her mind. How weak they were and how easily she overpowered them. “…but no. Not even the mightiest blow could break me.”
Ryoga respected the power of names, the Japanese culture already put more emphasis on naming children after various feelings and ideas, and in his case both his Mother and Father had given him strong names. So a mutual feeling of interest seemed to spark between the little girl and the Dragon. Victoria seemed quite confident in her claim of being sturdy, making Ryoga wonder just how tough someone so small could be. The girl struck a pose, and the dragon smirked, or at least as best he could. His face made it difficult to perform the usual list of human emotes with his face, mostly left with the ability to sneer or growl.
"To look small and yet be stronger than the largest human. Mutants are most intriguing." He mused aloud, remembering his life in Japan. Rarely did Ryoga interact directly with his followers, but there were instances when someone needed divine punishment. And the showing of just how strong Ryoga is, was more than enough to quell any behavior his Father didn't approve of for quite some time. Ryoga's might was enough that a flick of his wing or tail could shatter the human form and end their life, like a child playing with dolls was the difference in might. "I would be interested to see just how tough you are. I am already aquainted with how frail the humans are." He finished, his fiery eyes locked onto Victoria as they continued to chat.
“Yes, mutants are a varied lot. I think there might be a great many abilities that mutants can have. It’s actually quite fun seeing and learning about new mutants.” Another smile spread over the girl’s lips. Just from the few mutants she had seen or gotten to know proved how diverse the spectrum of mutations could be.
Looking back at the great dragon Victoria had a glimmer of dread in her eyes. It wasn’t for the fact that Orochi wanted to see how tough she was. No, it was because whatever demonstration she might take part in had a large possibility of ruining her dress. “Well, I’ve been flung out of a second floor window at the mansion without a scratch. I don’t know what you’d want to see though.”
It struck Ryoga as odd though, how different all these little mutants were with their various powers. One mutant might have psychic powers, or be able to create fire or who knows, even do something as silly as transforming into a spork. This small girl and her described power certain sounded interesting, but really Ryoga more enjoyed her confidence in his presence, making the conversation quite equal between the two. Too often Ryoga dominated the area with his presence and divinity, making a conversation more of a speech, as the other person was too overwhelmed to match him.
The girl looked up to him as he talked about testing her mettle, and it seemed both of them shared that same idea for a moment, a test. But Ryoga was no barbarian, he was a God, and he was beneath something like simple violence as a form of entertainment, especially when he was enjoying a polite talk with Victoria. If he could have smiled, that grin would have showed he'd thought about testing the girl, but instead refrained. "Impressive. If you're worried I might test your mettle vs mine, fear not Victoria. I am a God, not some childish barbarian whom cannot resist his impulses."
His neck craned a bit, like a serpent swaying back and forth while observing it's next meal. "But I would be interested to hear why someone would throw such a lovely creature from the second floor. You have enemies?" The dragon questioned, his curiosity never sated around mutants and the stories of their chaotic lives.
A subtle sigh of relief came from the little vampiress when Orochi stated he wasn’t going to test her. Her face quickly lit up with her sweet smile as she curtsied. “I’m very pleased to hear that my new friend.” She really was grateful as she hated when her dresses would get torn up for any reason. They were the only things that helped her feel like a normal girl.
“Well, it wasn’t on purpose. A friend of mine had a pair of dogs he commanded and he got distracted. See, what we were doing was he was making his dogs give sleigh rides, but we used a blanket tied to the dogs as the sleigh. The dogs were only supposed to run around in circles, but I heard a phone ring and then my friend said something that I couldn’t make out. Suddenly his dogs took off as fast as they could down the hallway and jumped through the window with me still on the blanket. I was holding on tight. Next thing I know we’re landing outside in the snow and tumbling across the ground. My dress got messed up and I wasn’t very happy, but I Eventually realized it was an accident. My friend apologized to me many times.”
The didn't show any visible responses to the girl's reaction, nor her response of him as a friend. He was a God, it made sense for her to feel comfortable around Orochi so long as he was feeling amicable. As he'd told her, he was no mere creature of impulse, but a civilized being who preferred to remain that way when speaking with someone else who had manners. "Are other mutants so violent as to test your might on a regular basis little one?" He asked, stopping Victoria for a moment before she went on to tell the story of how she'd been thrown from a window.
It was an odd sight, the small girl speaking toward the dragon who was many times her size and weight, his form already dwarfing a large man and thus making him look truly gargantuan when compared to the frail and slender build of the vampire girl.
Dogs? A fairly common pet animal, though Ryoga didn't care much for them. Animals always reacted in fear in his presence, obviously understanding that Ryoga was a fearsome creature, his body a primeval predator born millions of years after it should have long been gone. However he did respect how man commanded dogs, and controlled them for any purpose he desired, a respectable show of ingenuity. He had grown distracted for a moment, but paid attention to the girls story enough as to not get lost.
The dogs jumped out the window? Whatever command had been given must have had real authority over the animals. The dragon spoke once more, his voice dominating the area within his small shrine home. "What odd games you humans play with your animals." Ryoga hadn't played nearly at all as a child, his unique form has controlled his destiny since he hatched from an egg born of a human woman, and his Father had molded and corrupted his ego ever since. Which might account for why Ryoga was so stiff and overbearing, his humanity and childhood sidetracked by his mutation for 20 years.
The dragon could however, imagine the mildly humorous situation of realizing you were fine and only your clothes were torn. "An odd little Ojou aren't you, to care about your dress after being flung from a window. Was that when you found out about your mutation?" He inquired, curious as to when a mutant discovered their power.
“Oh, no!” Shaking her head. “No one tries testing me and no one has been violent towards me. Most people I know like me.” A sweet little smile accompanied her statement.
When Orochi commented on the odd games played with animals Victoria blushed. “Yeah, but it was fun while it lasted.” Then a curious look and a slight tilt of the girls head. “What do you do for fun?” This could be an interesting answer, or it could be a dull one. Didn’t dragons just lay around all the time? “And what’s a…whatever it was you called me? I hope it’s not a bad thing.” The dragon’s comment on her caring about her dress caused the girls hands to smooth over her current dress. “I love my dresses. They’re so pretty and they remind me of my mommy.”
Such a sweet little creature Victoria was, Ryoga could believe that most if not all people liked her. Charisma was often nothing more than a sweet smile or a comforting voice, couple that with physical appearance and anyone could mimic some of the sway Ryoga had with his own cult. Though his divinity was genuine. The girl questioned what he did for fun, an interesting question. Ryoga didn't really think of "fun" as something he did or sought out, after all a God was above the simple needs the mortals all shared in.
"I do not have fun little one, though if I had to come up with an answer I would respond that I enjoy reading. As well as basking in the morning Sun." Considering the dragon spent most of his time idle, absorbing the radiation of the Sun, you might consider him lazy. But Ryoga thought nothing of the sort, more concerned with keeping up his image and pandering to the crowds for their admiration and worship. meaning the girls thoughts about dragons might just be on the money.
Ah, Ryoga realized he had slipping some Japanese into his speech, a little habit he had when he found something interesting or novel. "Ah, that was Japanese, little one. Ojou is a word meaning princess, or a girl born of high class. Forgive my slip, English is not my native language. You simply pulled the word from me." He said politely, the oddity of a massive dragon apologizing to a little human somewhat odd to experience he was sure.
The girl's excited response about her dress further cemented Ryoga's thoughts of her as a little Ojou-sama. Though the idea of a little princess who was nigh indesctructable was rather amusing. "Did your Mother buy them for you?"
