The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"you're just awful, Mike." she shook her head. "Now I still think you know and you're just saying that because you don't want me to get upset..." she wrinkled her nose and wiggled her ears.
"It doesn't matter, it probably won't be any time soon. And Tricity has a baby...which means you and I will be busy keeping the family safe." she seemed to have a thought because now her ears perked up a little more. "Orion is absent. See that? That's a bad dad." she nodded, remembering how Tricity had twisted her ring on seeing Daria's.
Mike winced. "Yeah... I feel bad for her... but I'd feel worse if I spoke my mind and told her to just ditch him. He's been around... what, maybe a month while she was pregnant or had the baby?" He shook his head. "Moron. I need to kick his ass again I think. Gotta find his deadbeat ass first, though."

Daria nodded. "See...Tricity will prbably be nice to him. If you missed our child's birth and didn't call or anything, I'd scratch your eyes out....among other things." she assured him in ALL seriousness.
Then she kissed him. "It's fine, with you around the baby will have a GREAT male role model, Uncle Mike. And don't argue with me.
Mike chuckled. "All right, I won't argue. Although that DOES make me nervous... I go being the male role model, and then when Orion DOES show up again for a few minutes, he wants to kick my ass for stepping in on his territory."
"Bah, whatever. I'm not her type," Mike chuckled. "After all... I'm present." Yes, it was true, his oppinion of Orion hadn't improved much with his coma.

Daria grinned and finished off the sushi.
The stewardess came by once more, a forced smile on her face. "The plane will be landing shortly, please put your seatbelts back on. We may experience a bit of turbulence." she quickly departed.
Daria sat up straight, a satisfied smirk on her face as she buckled her seatbelt.
Mike didn't bother with the seatbelt... he knew he wouldn't get thrown out if the plane hit turbulence, after all, how the hell could a telekinetic get thrown out of his seat? And besides, it was too fun watching the stewardess look at him nervously, wanting to tell him to fasten it but not wanting her eyes clawed out by Daria.

Daria enjoyed it too. She trusted Mike to be able to save her if anything happened, and she hated that she couldn't teleport them but flying was good too.
She slid her hand into Mike as the stewardess took the trays away.
"You're enjoying that far too much," Mike teased, squeezing her hand. The plane was making a shaky descent, and Mike had to admit to feeling a little uneasy with flying under the power of anything other than himself, but what did it matter? How many superheroes died in plane crashes, when they could stop bullets with their minds?
So instead of focusing on it, he leaned back, closing his eyes and relaxing, just enjoying being away with Daria, hundreds of miles from all the bullshit that kept cropping up for them.

Daria closed her eyes too and leaned back, having been in helicopters many times on missions she had nothing to fear. She hated her ears popping; but soon they'd be on the ground, driving to the Angels' West Hollywood hotel where they would rest until that night.....
"All right, I admit, I'm impressed," Mike grinned as he looked at their hotel. He'd seen just about all the really good hotels on the east coast... but there was something about the climate here that made a really good hotel seem that much better. "Shall we, my dear?"

Daria grinned and took his hand.
The Angels West Hollywood Hotel was overlooking the beach. The resort's main building was a nice sand color, the walls lined with torches not yet lit and a grand staircase leading up to it and another inside.
The bell boy came immediately for their bags as soon as Daria approached the counter.
"Strong?" The man said and smiled. "He'll show you your room." Daria and Mike followed the Bell Boy to the Hotel's top floor, as much as she wanted to take the elaborate staircase they had to take the elevator-their room was at the top floor.
"So what does it feel like to be on this end of the plan-making, baby?" Mike asked as they rode the long elevator ride to the top floor. The bellhop really had a pretty easy job... they hadn't packed much. Their returning bags, on the other hand, were likely to be more difficult to handle. The elevator 'ding'ed, and they stepped out onto the top floor, Mike letting Daria walk in front of him as they followed the bellhop to their room.

The hall was long and elaborately furnished the ceiling containing arc after arc of polished marble. The windows that appeared periodically showed a devastingly beautiful view of the clear blue water of the California ocean.
"It's horrible." she admitted. "Too much work but it's worth it." she slipped her hand into his. The bell hop stopped at two large oak doors which he swung open, revealing their suite which was much like an apartment.
Leather couches, a shining coffee table, a bar and huge french doors adorned the first room where the bell hop left their two bags. Daria tipped him generously and he left, closing the door behind him.
