The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"I know," he grinned. "I seem to remember you hissing at various girls in the common room, so I'm allowed to drop his tip whenever his eyes hit your chest," he teased.

Daria shook her head.
"You know, you should let me buy us dinner at least once."
She looked at a table across the room. It was filled with women who were all looking admirably at Mike. They gave Daria the ever popular "He deserves better" look to Daria. She relayed her findings back to him so he wouldn't have to turn around.
"I am not the only one who gets attention, cutie." she smiled, reaching across the table to grab his hand. She shot the women and intimidating look and they turned back to themselves..for the moment at least.
Mike played it up, making sure that everyone got at least a brief look of the very affectionate looks he was giving Daria as they talked. "What can I say, we're a hit," he teased, kissing her hand, since he'd look fairly ridiculous leaning all the way across the table to kiss her.
Mike smirked and asked the waiter as he passed to bring them a bottle of wine, whatever he recommended. The man didn't even think to ask them for identification.
"No... I don't abuse my powers ever," he teased as the man walked away.
He smirked. "Yeah... now you only have to do it to me to get what you want," he teased. "I can't imagine it ever not working, though," he admitted, eyeing her thoughtfully.
The waitor looked somewhat annoyed as he walked away, Mike could sense that he had a ver over-inflated oppinion of himself... plus, he was of the same mindset as Mike, that tails are hot.
"And there's no one else I'd rather get away with," Mike answered her, smiling wistfully as he looked at her. "I don't suppose I've forgotten to mention lately that I love you?" he teased.

Daria raised an eyebrow, twitched her ear and scratched her head gently with her tail.
"Hmm lets see it's been about 15 minutes, 30 seconds and 21 miliseconds..30..40..56.." she laughed. "Oh, I love you too honey. More than anything in the world." she purred.
"It's times like this that make all of the fighting worth it, you know?" he said quietly, squeezing her hand, and then picking up his glass of wine. "A toast? To us, and whatever odd plan seems to be set out for us," he said with a smile, raising the glass.

Daria raised her glass as well. "And to things worth fighting for." she smiled and tapped her glass against his. The slight chink got a few stares but Daria and Mike were too caught up to notice. Daria was at least, she wasn't the one who could hear what everyone was thinking.
She sipped the wine. It was slightly sweet. "Wait all this time and I get kool-aid." she joked.

Daria smirked and pretended to be offended.
"Its not my fault. I go to bars, they give me drinks with umbrellas. This is like..the thrid time I've had wine in my entire life. And I didn't come from a rich family like yours. Can you say 'alize?' Thats what was my fridge...and, ironically, the name of the girl that lived down the block from me." she said thoughtfully.
