The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Mike grinned, and stood up, tossing her a flyer for one of the local clubs, a hotspot they'd noticed the night before.
((At which they had a wonderful time, with many more inapropriate antics... but we'll just say that that night was very, very much not suitable for public reading))

((nice, gotta love those crzy kids))
The next morning, somehow, Daria's head was at the foot of the bed to which she had hardly made it. Her head was killing her and she was vaguely aware that she was missing a shoe. Her head hurt and she immediately knew she had a hangover.
Nice.
Furthur more, it wasn't even morning, it was early afternoon.
Mike finally woke up. "Huh? Oh, jeez..." he commented, holding his head suddenly. He gave one of his signiture waves and Daria felt her headache subsiding. "Okay... I think we're getting old. And we're not even twenty."

"Well, you're not." she giggled. "And 20 is not old. Don't make me feel like a pedophile."
With her headache numbed she was able to sit up. When she tried to teleport her bag to her it didn't work.
Note to self, alcohol and teleportation do not mix.
She tried focusing again and sucessfully grabbed her bag which she'd packed before they left. It was a small backpack since Mike had carried the rest of their stuff.
Indeed, the rest of their stuff was floating, a bit more wobly than usual, around them. "Yes, because your one year makes you soooo much older than me," he teased. "Note to self... don't get so drunk that I forget to make them not card us. Have to remember that one."

Daria laughed.
"You know whats funny?" she asked. "we drove over here and with the way my powers are going, we have to drive back." she reached under the bed to discover her missing shoe and, smiling, returned it to her foot. "Now, who drives?"
She stood waited in case she got dizzy or nausious but realized only her head, and therefore her powers were acting up. She walked into the bath room to grab their toiletries. It was easy to teleport the stuff she was touching, it took less thought. She teleported them to the bed so Mike could put them in her back pack.
"I'll drive... I'm blocking out the worst of it from my head. Worse comes to worst, we'll take shifts. Or stop halfway," Mike said, holding the door open for the bags as they floated out to the Hummer. He gave a fond look around the cabin. "Yes, I definitely think we might have to come back again..."
