The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Kate didn’t have much free time these days. She was a full time student, the assistant to the Julliard Orchestra conductor, gave piano lessons to Jude, and had a rather needy best friend and roommate and a boyfriend who was on European time. It was needless to say that she was always go go go go go. However, she still found time to go to the mansion once a day and release some energy before she was forced to do it somewhere where she may hurt someone.
Kate pulled up her usual program of alternating targets and moved to stand in the middle of the room. Not only did she release energy but she practiced once a day to gain a better control of her powers. She closed her eyes as the classical piece of choice for the day began to play. She stretched her fingers, widening them fully and spreading them as far as they would go down by her sides. She always stated every session with a little stretch before she began the real work. She rolled her head around on her neck as she pulled her hands into fists. Then BAM she released her fingers in one quick motion as she opened her eyes and let her hands be engulfed in flame.
She waited to hear the first click as the first target appeared and she spun quickly to throw a fire ball at it. Then did the same to the next and the next and the next. She seemed to dance around the room never really leaving an imaginary circle she had formed at the center as she hit every target. The more targets she hit the higher the difficulty became. Soon she had to aim for two and three targets at a time, shooting off fire balls in rapid succession. Though if someone paid close attention it wasn’t just her skill that was changing the difficultly. The entire program seemed to be built around the music that was playing. Long ago Kate had worked out how to get the computer to automatically build a program against any song she entered. For her this was probably the best way to both get to work and keep herself calm enough not to light the place on fire.

It'd been quite some time since Streak had been in the Danger Room. He couldn't quite place why he hadn't visited the room for a while. He'd always enjoyed being in the Danger Room. Not because of its name but because of its seemingly endless possibilities. No matter how many times he'd been in there, there didn't seem to be anything that it couldn't do. No program that it couldn't run. No scenario that it couldn't project and bring into reality.
As it was this is what ran through his mind as he appeared in the control room. Seemingly out of nowhere. He'd always enjoyed the little hideout that him and Sam made, so many years ago. There was already someone in the room. A fire manipulator as it turned out. She was pretty good at aiming and things seemed to a speed up whenever she hit something with one of her fireballs. The music that played was enticing to Streak and he didn't realize that it was also controlling the speed of the program.
He was going to leave until he watched the program more. The program she was running looked pretty fun. "Let's make it just a little more interesting for a fire mutant." Streak mumbled to himself. He punched a few buttons and the simulation changed a little. He decided he should go help her with the newest part of the simulation. She may be good when she's standing still... but how good is she when she has to move too. Streak took the short set of stairs that led the way down into the Danger Room and walked out onto the ground of the training room. Before the program started over Streak said, "Mind if I join you? I'm Streak by the way."
The silvermancer covered himself in his silver and prepared for the attacks to soon follow. Even he didn't know what the program would do but that's what he liked about the Danger Room. If you could think about it the Danger Room could do it, even if you couldn't think it the Danger room could surprise you. "You may want to move around a little." Streak said hinting at the changes he made.
Kate gasped as she turned to the source of sudden noise. Her hands instinctively raised in front of her and a fireball came flying at the man before her. Her eyes widened as she reached out and closed her hand into a tight fist, extinguishing the bright white flame that was only a foot away from hitting the handsome dark haired hero. She had access to this room because she was a fire user and needed it for times like this. And as far as she knew she was still the only one in the mansion. So that meant that this man was an X-Man, the only people she knew of that had access to the room without needing to be accompanied.
So his name was Streak. It sounded familiar but it wasn’t one she knew off the top of her head. Probably something she heard mentioned in hall or from Sam or Mirror. “Um… I suppose not, but I’m not really doing training. I’m...” Just as she was about to explain an object came flying at her and almost hit her in the head. She screamed as she ducked out of the way. Looking over it appeared to be a large metal ball of some kind. “What in the…” she looked at the man confused, “what did you do?”
Kate started to bob and weave not really sure what to do and not really wanting to unleash any fire in here with this other man. She wasn’t sure exactly how much this metal form could take.

If Streak's silver hadn't been covering him he was pretty sure he might have had thinner eyebrows after he apparently startled her. Thankfully, she had enough control over he powers to not singe his face. Surprise registered on his face as the white fireball came at him. Apparently the fire was the reason she had permission to be in here. He didn't know exactly what she was doing but she said she wasn't training."Why not use this as a time to train. Even if you are just venting frustration or whatever."
Streak smirked as she figured out what he'd done. The silvermancer followed her as she ran. She wasn't really fighting them. The music changed again and he formed a few knives as a couple more metal balls flew around and buzzed his head. He rolled, popped up and threw a knife. It sailed directly into an orb and pinned it to the wall. He figured why she might not be throwing her fire now, so going with an idea he said, "You may want to fight them a little. Don't worry about me. I don't think you're fire will get hot enough to hurt me." He broke left and gave her some distance.
Kate barely heard the stranger as she moved trying to make it through this man’s stupid idea of a good time without getting beaned in the face. “I’m not venting anything thank you. What I was doing is a requirement of my mutation.” Needless to say she was rather annoyed at this point and her tone did nothing to hide it. How dare this child of a man come in here and think it was a good idea for a surprise training session. Who did he think he was? Sam?
Kate moved with as much grace as she could muster only daring to let out a fire ball once the man had moved away from her enough that she didn’t think he was at risk of melting. The metal ball it came into contact with was flung back and left half melted attached to the wall. “I’m sorry but my fire has been clocked at upwards of 1500 degrees Celsius. Not sure exactly what you are made out of but I am most certainly not willing to risk your life so you can have a little fun messing with me.” She never ever liked to use her powers in this way. There were reasons her lessons with Sam had always been more about control and expansion of her power and less about combat skills. Kate was terrified of hurting someone every second of every day. There was no way in hell she was going to indulge this idiot.
She continued to bob and weave the best she could only letting out the smallest fire balls she could muster when the strange metal man was far enough away to be at no risk from the heat. Hey for all she knew he was made out of tin and would melt if she even tried to touch him.
