The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The dilapitated old factory stood menacingly with it's high metal fence. The barbwire, though it was almost peeling from the fence itself, was sharp and threatening. Daria had taken the picture from a memory of Emeralds and hadn't been aware of the fence. It was too late now and they faded into existance right in front of the old buiding.
A rat scuttled across the front lot as daria leaned into Mike. She was well rested, it was the regualr recovery she needed from teleporting long distances. She used her tail to steady herself and ignored the throbbing again. It was such a weird feeling.
"This is...nice." she said dryly her eyes locking in on the rat with her night vision. "Love what they've done with the place."
"I'm going to have to hire their decorator when we decide to redo the dorms," Mike answered with equal sarcasm. Glancing around, he confirmed that there were no conscious minds within the immediate area.
Emerald looked around the immediate area cautiously. "Yes this place is kind of cozy, We should camp out here some time." Emerald said with as much sarcasm as Mike and Daria.
She began walking forward before feeling something crunch beneath her foot. She looked down and saw she had smashed a bone of a mutant skeleton, If one wonders how she knew it was a mutant it was because of the gills on the side of its neck bone, There was also a halfway filled syringe sticking out of the hole in its skull.
"Watch were you step."
((You guys can describe any other bodies or or equitment that your chars run into
To Mike, the situation brought to mind a Saturday morning cartoon, where the coyote only fell when he realized that he was ten feet past the edge of the cliff. It was only after he noticed the skeleton, and the many other remains all around them, that the emotional impact of this place hit him.
The suffering and inhumanity that had taken place here had saturated the old limestone building and the remains in it. It was like a thousand tortured whispers clawing at his brain, faint enough that they hardly seemed real.
"Give me a moment," he said quietly, his eyes glowing blue. He could feel the most recent of the remains still around him, those recent enough that the scars their torture had made on the Astral Plane hadn't healed. He shuddered as he wondered just how many there were that he couldn't feel. Slowly he walked between them, his astral wings taking more solid form with each one he touched as he tried to quiet the part of their presence that still lingered at this cursed place.
The brittle gilled skeleton Emerald had stepped on. Bluer seas await you...
A dense, possibly petrified skeleton stooped in a corner. Your family awaits you, friend, be at ease...
A small body that had once been a powerful metal-skinned mutant, now nothing more than skin like tin foil loosely spread over a metallic skeleton. It's over, little sister... let go of your pain...
A pile of faintly pink dust, all that remained of a shapeshifting mutant. Justice will come, each of your tears will be accounted for, rest easy and place your trust in Cassiel.
It went on much like this for several minutes: a short walk, usually only a step or two, to the next body, a gentle touch with a comforting thought. Finally, he crouched with his back to Daria and Emerald, touching the remains of the last mutant.
"So it was you... your mind locked them all here as you tried to block out their pain." He closed his eyes as he felt the psychic impression left by this body, the strongest of all and obviously another telepath. "It didn't work as you hoped... and that only added to your agony in the end. Rest easy, brother... I'll make sure your efforts serve a greater purpose than you suspected."
As he stood, two thin swords of psychic energy appeared crossed between his astral wings. His eyes were bright blue as he turned back to the two girls, wiping his eyes. "I can't finish purging this place of its scars until we right the wrongs that were done. Until then, walk carefully, we're not quite alone here."

Daria had been surpressing a hiss the whole time. Nothing irritated her more than to see dead mutants, innocent ones,....except being called kitty.
She stepped quietly normally but with her new uniform her footsteps were almost soundless, except to herself and Emerald because they had advanced hearing.
She sniffed the air.
Do you think there are rogue mutants here? you know what I mean? she thought to Mike to avoide making noise.
"I can't tell right here. There's so much psychic static that I'm not sure if there really is nothing or if I'm just missing it. I don't FEEL anything right now, though."
He looked at Emerald and Daria. "So where do we go from here?" he asked quietly.
Emerald looked at all the dead mutants with no emotion on her face. Even though this was tearing her apart inside...something about the labs made her devoid to any emotion
"There is a skeleton of a dead guard at the front door, as soon as we get through this boneyard we use the guards identifcation card to get in." Emerald said keeping her ears open.
"I must warn you the inside of the lab is much worst than this....there should be files scattered about so we are gonna have to search for what we need."

"What exactly do we need?"
Daria asked as they approached the front door. She didn't want to touch the dead guy so she teleported the card to her hand and handed it to Mike to get them in.
She then turned around and sniffed the air again. Mike was right, they weren't alone and the fact that there was another presence irritated her.
"Any documents involving Whitmore and if you find any documents about the experiments that include pictures....I wouldnt suggest you look through them." Emerald stated with a solem look on her face.
She kept her tail between her legs as she looked at the dead guard. If Daria or Mike looked close enough they would realize that his body was pratically ripped apart.

I know, its just...unsettling.
Daria thought to him as he opened the front gate. The computer system was old and took a while to work. Then, when it finally did, the door opened only slightly. Daria stepped over the mangled body of the dead guard and slipped easily through the door, walking sideways.
The inside was dark and she instinctivly crouched low to the ground her tail and ears twitching and her nose sniffing the air. The smell of mutants was stronger here but they weren't dead...
Emerald slid into the the door after Daria, the young she wolf slammed her hand into the wall and then all the light switches in the building came on, but very dimly.
Everything was painted grey and there were diffrent cells everywere. However on the wall next to them there was a small bloody handprint, small enough to be a childs.
Emerald looked at the handprint for a moment before looking back at Mike and Daria. "There are many floors and corridors of this place, should we split up?"

Daria hissed when she saw the hand print and several others like it. Her maternal instincts kicked in. "No we're not splitting up." she supported Mike's answer. "I still don't like the smell in here.
Daria, still crouched low walked forward.
"Do you remember anything? Can you tell which way to go?" she asked Emerald quietly.
