So I'm not sure exactly what I'm looking for here but I know that Shaelren (Andy) could really use some action in the actual world of mutants. He's had a couple encounters with mutants and knows that he can manipulate his molecular structure but other than that he knows nothing so he focuses on just training and teaching others. Really it would be better if this happened around his training, maybe at a class or while he is at a tournament roaming the streets waiting for a match to start. He can be just about anywhere with his students for a tournament so really I'm open to anything.

Streak would be a good fit if you wanted a sparring partner. Streak is well versed in different martial arts forms and could help with the mutation thing as well.
