The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Serena was having another sleepless night, however it was just after midnight, so in relation to how long she normally ended up being up for, the night was young!
A week or so ago, she had found a fellow night owl in Leon, and they had shared some tea and had a pleasant discussion about their sleeplessness. Not that Serena's sleep procrastination was a particularly enjoyable thing...
But she had mentioned that they should do something fun the next time they were both up at a ungodly hour, they should do something fun, so here she was, going to go and fetch him, to see if he was actually in the mood for something fun. She had a fun idea, something unique that they could both share in due to their certain... disposition.
She was wearing a pair of dark, skinny jeans and a sleeveless blue top, with her blood red hair pins in contrast to the top. She strolled through the hallways until she found Leon's room, or what she hoped was his room.
And then proceeded to quietly knock on the door, hoping she wouldn't be waking him up, that would be awkward.

Leon rolled over and stared at the clock, 12AM give or take a few minutes he wasn't entirely sure in this light. His usual routine of trying to sleep and failing had reached the latter stage. After a little time of staring he decided to get up and do something. Putting on his trousers and waistcoat, deeming it to hot to bother with a shirt after all he was still British, he set off towards his rooms door.
*Knock Knock*
He pulled open the door slowly to avoid waking up his roommate and looked out to see the face of Serena looking back at him. He was slightly taken aback that she was roaming around this late, and even more so that she was standing here at his door. "Oh hi Serena, what brings you here?" He asked trying to remember if he made any promises that he would have forgotten about.
Serena wondered if Leon was already up... Or if he was-
Then the door opened. She smiled as he greeted her. "Heyy, I couldn't sleep and thought you may want to do something, sorry if I woke you up." she replied, her voice a friendly whisper.
She wondered if he would be up for it, And what he would think of the activity she had come up with.
She also silently cursed to herself, remembering that his roommate was James, hoping that she had not woken him up. That would be awkward, especially with her coming to their room to retrieve Leon for late night activities.

Leon smiled as she explained why she was here, feeling slightly thankful that it wasn't some form of forgotten promise. "Its no problem, I was awake anyway and looking for something to do." He said keeping his voice to a minimum to avoid waking his roommate.
Realizing he would need to leave the room he quickly made a mental checklist of everything he would need to go out.
clothes check, money check and finally cigarettes....nope.
Reaching across the door to his jacket he pulled out a half empty pack and his lighter before pocketing them and slipping out the door. Closing it as quietly as he could, even if it did wake somebody up then he wouldn't mind after all there not babies and leaving your room isn't a crime.
"So what sort of thing did you have in mind?" He asked raising his voice back to a more normal level, curious about what she did have planned that could be done at midnight.
Serena smiled. Relieved that she had not woken him up and that he would like to do something. That would have been embarrassing and or awkward. Him grabbing his smokes reminded her that she had something of her own she needed to grab, she really hoped he liked this idea.
She felt a surge of excitement as he asked her about what she had planned. She giggled slightly mischievously.
"Well, Leon. Let's just say that it's something that only me and you could do because of our own unique gifts. And on that note, we'll need to stop by my room on the way so that I can grab something~" She spoke with a glimmer in her voice.
She felt rather hyper active this evening. But that was probably because the idea she had come up with excited her rather a lot. Hopefully, Leon would enjoy it at least almost as much as she knew she was going to.

This was starting to sound both creepy and exciting, he started to run through ideas of what they could be going to do. Especially if she needed to stop by her room before they set out to wherever they where going. More so trying to figure out what she meant by gifts, the obvious meaning that came to him was there mutations which from what he gathered worked rather similarly, even if he found his allot more entertaining. But she could mean any number of things like his athletic ability which he will admit was not brilliant.
As they walked he decided it would be best just to flat out ask her. "So when you say gifts, I assume that you are talking about our mutations, and not anything else that's slightly more....obscure." He said with a light tone to his voice.
Even if she doesn't explain what they where going to do it was more a way to make the walking not get awkward or silent. And as an added bonus he could satisfy some of his curiosity.
Serena had a minor spring in her step. It wasn't often she found something to elevate the bordem or dread which came right along with her constant sleep deprivation, let alone her actually looking forward to being up at night.
When nobody else could see what she got up to.
She giggled lightly in response to Leon's comment as the two of them walked over to her room. "Yes Leon, it involves our mutations" She giggled.
As they reached the room, she opened the door... forgetting that a lot of her clothing was scattered about her side of the room... Including underwear. She quickly blocked Leon's line of site. "Just give me a sec, I need to grab something" She whispered, a little red in the face.
Closing the door behind her, she tip toed over to her bed and withdrew a 1L bottle of a red substance. She then tip toed back outside, with the bottle hidden behind her back.

He was relived when she confirmed that it was about their mutations, and rather excited, he loved to mess around with his and find interesting ways to do things with it. Even if it does tire him out after a while.
When they reached Serena's room it occurred to him that he hadn't seen her room before, he wasn't to fussed about seeing it but it would no doubt look odd to anyone that happened to be walking down the corridor, although that was unlikely given the late hour.
When she opened the door he caught a glimpse of what he guessed was a rather messy room, before she blocked his view and disappeared inside. It was odd that she would have such a messy room he had always thought she would be one of the clean freak types, but then he couldn't be right about everyone. He certainly had little idea what she was going to do with that bottle of red stuff, and even less idea why she would have it in the first place.
"So shall we go?" He said raising an eyebrow to the bottle, vaguely remembering her mutation having something to do with floating red stuff....
She smiled to Leon as she exited the room, closing the door behind her. She quickly adjusted one of her hair pins slightly, pulling one side of her hair back behind her ear. She was eager to test her idea, and see if it would work.
She also began to wonder, if she were able to do this, would her ability to use her mutation for lengths of time improve? As if she was testing a muscle... It was an interesting theory certainly, which may actually have some merit if her mutation was controlled by her brain.
She nodded quickly to Leon's comment. "I think you may like this idea of mine. Follow me, I'll show you the perfect spot." She wondered if she sounded giddy...

As they set off walking he tried to figure out what they where going to be doing, so far he knew that it involved mutations and apparently he would enjoy it. Well whatever it was going to be she was obviously excited about it so It must be good.
He was rather excited himself, the secrecy made the whole thing mysterious and much more exciting than if he had just been told straight out. The fact that it involved his mutation was appealing to him, he used it often enough but not knowing what she wanted him to do with it made it feel more...rebellious.
Eventually the tension of not knowing got to much for him to take. "So where exactly are we going?" He asked trying to sound casual.
Serena smiled as she led the way. The activity could be revealed soon. She felt like a child, who had come up with a secret game which she was busy hiding from her parents... Not that she ever got to have that experience with her mother who died in childbirth or her father, who never had time for her and then got himself killed while undercover... And by the time her brother was looking after her she was much older.
She giggled lightly at the comment. "It's one of my favourite spots around the mansion, it's further out in the grounds in a place where no body really goes, I normally read there when it's a nice day." she responded with a smile and then giggled lightly again.
With another few minutes of walking, the two of them reached a small hill, looking near the trees, it was overlooking the city lights, there was a bench near the top of the hill, Serena suddenly had the thought that Leon may think she was trying to be... romantic.
That would be awkward. She was not trying that at all.
"Well... Here we are." She smiled, gesturing to the top of the hill.

When they reached the hill he instantly knew why she liked to come up here and read, the place was by definition beautiful, with the added bonus of a little cover from the trees. It reminded him allot of the places people in movies go for the cliche date....oh.
He felt his cheeks go red as he blushed, to be honest he hadn't really thought of Serena in that way before and wasn't really thinking about her like that at all, to him there friendship was just a friendship and that's all he wanted. Pulling out a cigarette and his lighter he quickly lit one to try and help himself relax, and it would help him with getting more ash for whatever she was planning. As he would hate to go ruining one of these trees.
"OK so we are here now, um, what exactly where you planing to have us do up here?" He said hoping that he had stopped blushing.
Serena smiled at Leon and then looked to see how red he was. Oh dear. He appeared to have gotten the wrong idea. Serena hadn't meant that at all when she had brought him up here, what did he think the bottle of blood was for... She didn't want to know. Boys could be... idiots.
She now felt mildly nervous. Great. Boys.
"So... I thought, me and you have similar mutations, ours are both unique in the way that me and you can both create things in a way, and telekinetically shape things. Or so I understand. So I thought, if we're both up, why not have some fun?"
She lifted the bottle of blood, as something to show. "So my idea... Involves a little contest." she said, a slight level of giddy, evident in the girls voice.

Her explanation laid his worry's to rest, and he could feel his face return to normal. Now that he knew what she had planned he felt like an idiot, but in some ways rather happy that she had not planned a date. No her idea was much better than that, and he loved it.
"Now that sounds like an amazing idea, although I may need to get some more ash....." He said pulling his pack of cigarettes out of his pocket, With a thought the fresh ash from the lit cigarette darted into the pack and lit them. Another few thoughts and the pack was shredded by a small rotating orb of ash. It wasn't as much as he would have liked but it would be enough for some small displays.
"Just to clarify that wasn't a go by me, I was just making more ash." He said with a little laugh, hoping that things hadn't become awkward between them. But what else was a guy going to think if a girl brings him to a secluded moonlit spot. "So seeing as it was your idea why don't you start things off?"
Serena smirked. "Well alright then." She took on an aura of cool, calmness. Since she had been practicing her mutation more and more, she had also become more confident in it's use. This, would be fun.
She spun the cap on the bottle, until it loosened. Then removed it. She turned the bottle upside down. It fell out of the bottle like a bottle of ketchup which had been turned upside down.
Serena felt a familiar sensation build as she activated her mutation the blue glow shrouded her body from toe to head. Then the blood took on the glow, it would freeze before it hit the floor, as if somebody had just hit the pause button during the movie, just before the point of impact.
She then tossed the bottle aside. It landed on the side of the hill, and then bounced down the side.
She tossed her palms forward, and twisted them, the blood responded. She created an orb of blood, and then chipped away at it, drawing bits of blood away from the sphere, shaping it. It was as if she was busy carving something out of clay.
After a few moments, a basin had opened, rapidly becoming a bowl. Then she added an orb to the side of the deep bowl, and began chipping away at it, until there was only a handle left, attached the the bowl shape. She then refined it and made it smooth, hardening it.
Once solidified, She turned to Leon and lowered it so he could take hold of the object. "How's that?" She winked.
