The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

OK this was fun. He had definitely gotten better at the whole fighting thing and over the course of a few tries really honed some of his powers, both in uses and utility. And today was no different even if he had decided to go and shoot one of the bigger fish in the ocean.
For today's fun he had come to a place he knew gangs and other people hung out in, and wandered into what he could only assume was a important place for this particular set of people. Because all he did was blast open the makeshift gate and they got all protective and started yelling at him. "Calm down all I want is to have some fun...which may involve you gaining some serious injury or other health problems." He said very calmly to the people in front of him, from where he could see he was in a back alley parking lot with roughly ten unarmed guys in various places. "By the looks on your faces and lack of objections, I'm going to say you're OK with that." He continued when he saw the looks of shock on their faces.
He couldn't help but think how easy this would be as he noted that they had lit three fires in large dumpsters around the place, each with around 3 or 4 people around each. Deciding that if he gave them more time they would attack and make them selves look stupid, and also if he waited much more he would just collapse from the anticipation. So without further notice he made the ash collected in the three fires rise and grab a man each, pulling them back into the flames.
For his next trick he pulled all the ash back out, minus the men but he noted that there was a smell that reminded him of cooked meat. He couldn't help but laugh as he made it into a rough imitation of a tornado, he knew it wouldn't reach speeds near that of a real tornado, but it was working just fine. The small amount of a vortex that it made did serve to give the smoldering ashes some fuel for a fire. And the power of his new creation was shown when some idiot tried to knife it, he was quickly taken care of by the spinning cloud.
"See isn't this great?" He said gleefully as another was pulled into his creation. It was slightly boring to him however as they never posed a threat or anything close to it, as shown by there attempts to run. Which thanks to four quick small red hot clouds from his toy, four got taken down pretty fast. Which by his count left one guy for him to play with.
The last guy however did not last long either, as with a simple flick of his wrist Leon sent the large cloud throttling towards him and engulfed the man. Which men't that his fun was over, which wasn't to bad as he had managed to kill a little time and let of some steam. "Pathetic why can't I ever find something that could even remotely be challenging." He said to himself with a sigh, more thinking out loud than consciously saying it.
Once upon a time Sveta had made herself a promise that she was not a vigilante. She was simply a mutant girl who helped women who got into trouble, when no one else would help them. She was not going to chase down criminals or get into standoffs with mutants more powerful and less honorable than she was. She was still fond of remembering that promise with nostalgia.
The killer ash tornado was pretty impressive, and made quick work of a bunch of thugs, who did not strictly qualify as innocent bystanders. Still, the m.o. was familiar, and Sveta had done enough digging and asking to know who it belonged to. And what it had done. And what it could do.
The gun clicked in the sudden silence that followed the last scream of the thug. Sveta could see herself over the shoulder of the British guy in the reflection of a half-broken window on a nearby building: a red shadow behind the falling ashes. She had even dyed her hair dark red-brown to hide the signature blonde. But no die or red carnival mask could hide the Russian accent.
"Dat was quite enough for today. Stand. Down."

Well this just got interesting.
"Yeah about that, it's really not very smart to use that phrase. Because like how does one stand down, as standing is standing up where you rise, but down is obviously going down towards the floor. So all in all a very poor choice of words." He said to the comment coming from behind him, He thought maybe he shouldn't be pulling this sort of stuff when she could kill him. But then he remembered hes out to have some fun and not toying with her would defeat the purpose of having fun.
I really should get that gun away from my back. He thought as he had no incentive to get shot. It really would put a downer on his day and make for some very awkward explaining, especially if she went with him to make sure that he told the truth.
"Ok Ok Ok. How about we put down the gun and talk this over, because I really couldn't think as to why you would want to kill lil old me." He said very calmly. deciding that it would be much better if he could actually see the gun he slowly started to turn around and face his assailant.
>>"Yeah about that, it's really not very smart to use that phrase. Because like how does one stand down, as standing is standing up where you rise, but down is obviously going down towards the floor. So all in all a very poor choice of words."
"Your language not mine." Sveta said shortly. She did not appreciate the attitude. The guy did not seem as scared at a gun pointed at his head as he should have been. Granted, he was a mutant. But Sveta was too.
>>"Ok Ok Ok. How about we put down the gun and talk this over, because I really couldn't think as to why you would want to kill lil old me."
"We don't put the gun down." Sveta corrected him "I have a gun. You don't. Poor choice of words."
She slowly stepped to the side, pointing the gun at him, moving out from straight behind him in case he tried to spin around and surprise her. It bothered her that she could not see his face.
"You have been causing a lot of chaos lately. Do you have a good reason why I should trust you that much?"
