Character
Personality:
One thing that tends to stick out about Eden is her cheery attitude. She’s almost always in a good mood, picking up on even the smallest traces of a silver lining. She believes that there is always something positive in a situation, and that people just have to look for it. It’s not just her boosted levels of serotonin, either (though that probably helps). She inherently sees the brightside of every situation – and can almost always be seen with a smile on her face. She’s just happy – not annoyingly so, just cheerful.
Eden likes people. She likes talking to them, being around them, helping them, meeting them, listening to them – she just enjoys company. As such, she is typically very kind to everyone she meets. Going back to her positive outlook, she also applies that same attitude towards people. She tries to see the good in everyone, no matter what side they’re on. As a result, she’s typically outgoing in a crowd.
Eden is also an academic…well, in science. She’s average in other fields of study, but she enjoys the topic of science, and especially likes experimenting with her powers based upon her readings. Sometimes this can be a good thing, other times…not so much. But, eh, accidents happen, right?
It’s hard for Eden to experience negative emotions, literally. Her power naturally enhances her sensitivity to the sun, and this is actually related to her high levels of melatonin. She can still be sad and angry, but it takes a lot for her to become so. For that reason she is unused to the feelings, and doesn’t always know how to handle them.
If she’s ever pushed to the point of experiencing these feelings (sadness, anger, regret), they come out strong, and can leave her emotionally disoriented for a time while she tries to collect herself. Rather than confront that emotional hazard, Eden uses humor as a defense to these situations.
Eden likes to be moving, and likes to be outside. For the times when she can’t bring herself to sit down and read, she’s outside soaking in the rays. She’s adventurous in the outdoors, and is fond of rock and tree climbing in particular. One of her favorite things to do is to find a place outside on a sunny day to play around with her powers.
Because of this she can be a bit headstrong, a little reckless, and even a tad impatient when it comes to doing what she wants or if she has an idea. But, true to spirit, it’s all in good fun.
In the absence of sun for an extended period of time, her personality takes a sharp turn and makes a quick 180. She can become depressed, antisocial, tired, and rude, and snappish.

Good/ bad/ neutral/ other: Eden generally has a good morality, simply because of her love for people. She might become neutral in some cases, if in line with someone who leans in that direction, though it’s rare that she ignores her moral compass.
Mutations
Mutation description:
Solar Energy Storage/Manipulation
Eden’s body acts similarly to a solar panel/battery, as her skin is infused with photovoltaic cells that absorb energy from the sun and harnesses it within her for later use. This energy can be released two ways.
• Nuke ‘Em - The first one is the most obvious, as it is how she first discovered her power (by pure accident). Eden can force the absorbed solar energy stored within her out through her hands in the form of powerful energy beams. These beams are extremely hot, working like a microwave and frying whatever they hit.
• The Energizer Bunny -The second ability is the power to release the stored energy in such a way that she can be used as a battery. For example, if her phone dies she can simply recharge it in the palm of her hand by forcing the stored energy into the device.
Strengths:
• Ultimate SPF – It’s not likely Eden’s going to be getting a sunburn anytime soon, if ever. She has extreme resistance to damage and heat caused by solar energy, minor forms of radiation, and small doses of fire. Now, obviously, she can’t walk through fire or jump into a vat of radioactive goo. She’s resistant, not invincible.
• Little Miss Sunshine – Because the sun naturally provides anyone with more energy through Melatonin, Eden’s sensitivity towards it means she’s pretty energetic. Along the same lines, exposure to sun increases serotonin levels (your natural happy hormone), and because of this she is almost always in a good mood.
• Portable Generator – Anything that runs on electricity, she can power it by warping the energy inside of her to be whatever the machine runs on. Phone dead? Not anymore. Car battery on the fritz? No problem.
• Light Eater - While Eden needs real food for her body to run smoothly, she can survive on sunlight. This isn’t the best option, though, because it can drain her after an extended period of time. She can survive without food for approximately four weeks.
Weaknesses and Limitations:
• Dying for Some Sun – Much like starving, four days or more without some form of UV action can cause Eden to become lethargic and weak.
• Extreme Thirst – Eden can go through 20 cups of water a day. At the very least she needs 15 to keep her body balanced from the extra sun storage. It’s very easy for her to become dehydrated.
• A Different Light – The amount of sun has an extreme effect on her powers. If there isn’t a lot of sun out one day and she’s stored up, no problem – after about three days though she’s drained, power wise.
• SAD – Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is a depression specifically caused by lack of sunlight. Eden suffers from it. On a dreary, cloudy day, her powers are weaker and she has less energy. Lightboxes can be used to treat it, although increased exposure to natural sunlight is more beneficial.
• Global Warming – If Eden absorbs too much energy without letting it out, it will build up inside of her until it comes out in a burst of unprocessed, radioactive energy. While it could be argued this would be a good defense, that myth is dispelled because this blast will harm everyone in a 3 foot radius, including Eden herself (the reason being that the energy is so raw).
• Limits – Eden’s beams come out about fifteen inches wide. She’s not a sharp-shooter, and while she has about a 20 feet of range in which she can fire the blast before it dies, what accuracy she does have dies off at about 15 feet. The size of the object is also something to be taken into consideration. She’s not going to miss the side of a barn, but she won’t be hitting cans off the fence post until she practices a little more. While she can keep the beam up and running in a continuous stream, it’s a drain on her power. Each beam can last three minutes with a three to ten waiting period of recharge depending on how much juice she spent. She can also only go for as long as she’s charged up for.
Physical Abilities
General Physical Capabilities: (Strength/Speed/Reflexes/Stamina/Flexibility)
• Strength – As strong as your average 19 year old female.
• Speed – Because of the extra melatonin in her system that translates into extra energy, she’s pretty fast on her feet. For reference, a 6 minute mile is within her reach. Nothing superhuman, but still on the quick side.
• Reflexes – Slightly above average, but not anything extraordinary.
• Stamina – This depends greatly on the weather. A nice sun-shiny day, she would be pretty well off. Overcast, cloudy, and dreary? Ugh, the bed looks comfortable.
• Flexibility – Typical of your common 19 year old.

History Of Your Character
Eden Rose Forrester was born to two human parents on January 13th, 1994. Her parents remained together until 1999, at which point she was five. Even after the divorce though, she maintained a strong family bond with both parents, living with her mother during the week and visiting her father on the weekends. She experienced a normal childhood.
Being born and raised in Sanblas, Flordia (a small city just off the coast), Eden spent a lot of time out in the sun through various activities such as surfing, skateboarding, and biking – all of which she did with her father on the weekends.
During the week, her mother, being a collage science professor, tried to get Eden to focus on academics, pushing her to do well in school and rewarding her when she got good grades.
Eden lived an average life up until the age of fourteen.
She started to become sick one day while she was on tanning on the beach; her stomach was cramping and her skin felt as though she were on fire – especially her hands. She tried dunking her hands in the water, but the pain didn’t stop. A few moments later, her hands started to glow and, panicking, she pointed them away from shore. A yellow beam shot out of her hands, steam erupting from the water until the light faded.
She went home, deciding not to tell her father since she felt fine, and also because she was afraid of what her parents would think of her if they knew she’d either gone insane or was seriously freaky.
She kept her power secret for about a year afterwards, trying to learn to control it on her own on a secluded beach. It was during this time that she lost the brown in her eyes due to overexposure to the sun, and combined with her powers, made them turn an almost crystalline shade of white – this was when her parents discovered their daughter’s secret.
Her relationship with her father remained the same, though her mother and hers relationship became strained. Not because she was a mutant, but because she had kept it from her.
Months later her mother, who had been keeping an eye on Eden and studying her mutation, diagnosed Eden’s powers for what they were – solar based.
By the time she was eighteen, Eden had learned all of her current abilities, and has almost complete mastery over her energy transfer. The blasts…she’s working on them, specifically the aim.

When Eden Forrester woke up to find the sun blaring through the window in her dorm, she knew she was set up for a good day. Rays of sunshine bounded into the room like excited puppies, gently prying her eyes open and eagerly coaxing her out of her bed. With an extensive stretch, the brunette pulled the covers away from her and didn’t even pause when her feet hit the floor as she glided over to her dresser.
Flinging her nighty into the hamper, she pulled her white under shirt over her head, quickly rummaging around in her drawers before happily pulling out a lacey yellow top – sleeveless, of course. Wouldn’t want to waste an opportunity to soak in the sun, right?
A second later she’d pulled her capris on, along with the belt she’d gotten yesterday from the mall.
She walked out of the room with a small grin on her face, feeling refreshed as she stepped past her roommate, who’d practically built an empire of makeup on the bathroom counter.
“Good morning!” Eden called happily in greeting as she leaned against the bathroom’s door frame.
In response, her dorm-mate grunted, her eyes drifting down to a watch that was latched across her wrist before she looked back up at Eden, “It’s six in the morning,” her friend commented with slight amusement before shifting her blonde hair from her face, “How are you even awake?”
“The same way you are, I’d guess,” Eden replied wryly.
“Trust me, this isn’t awake,” her friend laughed chuckled in reply before stifling a yawn, “S-See?” she muttered.
“Whatever you say,” Eden laughed, rolling her eyes, “I’m headed to the kitchen – want me to make you something?”
The blonde narrowed her eyes at her suspiciously, “Depends. You gonna try to convert me to your cult or religion or whatever again?”
In faux anger, Eden tried to make herself look offended, “Vegetarianism isn’t a cult or a religion. And offering you a veggie burger is not the same as trying to ‘convert’ you,” She said before the bad acting faded away, “So do you want me to make you something?”
“Bacon?” Her friend asked hopefully.
“Sure,” Eden shrugged – she wouldn’t have any herself, but if her friend wanted it, who was she to say no? “But I expect you to come to my defense when my cult of vegetarians comes to drag me away.”
“Eh, it’d be quieter around here,” the blonde replied jokingly in a breezy tone, and Eden stuck her tongue out playfully before leaving her to attack her hair with a straightener.
Eden walked into the kitchen, humming a bit before swinging the fridge open and pulling out the bacon and setting it on a pan to fry, also putting on some eggs. For herself she grabbed a loaf of bread, peanut butter, and a banana to construct a PB&B sandwich.
Once the preparation had been done, Eden pulled out her phone – the one she had forgotten to charge last night – and looked over her shoulder to make sure her roommate hadn’t finished up in the bathroom. Seeing that the coast was clear, she clutched the phone tightly in her palm, her skin faintly glowing as she forced some her energy into the device. The battery charge shot up from 12% to 100%, and she checked the time – work started in two hours, meaning she still had plenty of time to get ready.
Grinning, she turned back to the fridge and pulled out some orange juice, her eyes trailing off as she poured a glass and started to drink it, her gaze falling on the window. The sun was blazing back at her, and she smiled – sometimes it paid to be part battery.
