The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Charlotte shot him an incredulous look? "Were you actually? Nuh-uh!" she practically squealed. But, he seemed on innocent. Yes he hot wired a car, but so what? Lots of people do that...right? A miniature war had formed in her mind; part of her wanted to get out, but the other wanted to stay.
"You tell me, hotshot. You're the one that's trouble, remember?" she teased, lightly jabbing a finger at his arms. Shouldn't poke too much, he might lose control and crash or something. "As long as nothing ends up on my record, I'm fine with it." she established. She was still technically in trouble for what happened back in Connecticut, but she knew no one was looking around for her. Not yet, at least. The blond shook the thought from her mind, raised her hands above her head, letting out a sigh of relief.

"Not that I know of, but...it wouldn't surprise me, seeing all the crap I've done but never really got caught for." He scratched his chin with one hand as he thought.
"I don't know. I don't plan these things out that far. I thought it'd be fun to hotwire a car, so...here I am. The pretty girl in the passenger seat was just a bonus. What was going to be just a few goes around the block became an adventure." He shrugged, looking in the rear-view mirror one more time as a precaution.
"Okay. I know an open stretch of road not too far that isn't really busy. How 'bout we see what this baby can really do?" He smiled, his eyes gleaming with mischief again.
The blonde bit her lip in excitement. She nodded her head and glanced over her should. "I can watch for cops." she assured, fidgeting for another cigarette. All the excitement made her crave nicotine. "And I'm not pretty.." Charlotte mumbled into the cigarette, lighting it before the wind picked up even more. She took a drag and enjoyed the buzz. The buzz of the nicotine, the buzz of stealing a car, the cute boy, all of it. She felt like she was going to explode.
She held onto her seat, her nails digging in the leather. She was almost bouncing in her seat out of pure excitement.

Ty gave a nod. "Luckily this baby looks like it was filled up before I took her. So, we're good on gas, anyway," he mused as Charlotte took out another cigarette.
"Eye of the beholder," Ty quipped with a grin to her not being pretty comment. "I say you're as pretty as I am cute." The ginger winked as he drove, eventually making it to an open, unused road, away from the city. Stopping, he gave a grin as he tightened his gloves, then his grip on the steering wheel before stomping the gas and barreling down the straight-away, their hair being blown everywhere as the meter climbed.
She rolled her eyes at Ty, taking a puff of her cigarette. "Oh shut up." she retorted, feeling her heartbeat climb with the speedometer dial. Charlotte glanced over her should for anyone followers. All clear. She reached down and undid her seat-belt with a "clack". Rearranging herself, she sat up on her knees and spread out her arms, letting out a big "WOOHOO!" and a huge laugh, both of which got lost in the wind.
She steadied herself with one hand and glanced down at the driver, beaming from ear to ear. "This is great" she commented. Err, shouted would be more appropriate. The wind had gone from light breeze to a deafening roar.

Ty chuckled. "Yes ma'am~" he teased before the roar of the wind and the car's engine overtook them. When she removed her seatbelt, Ty got this uneasy feeling, though he was now going at a steady 95 miles an hour.
"S***!" Ty exclaimed, seeing flashing blue lights, followed by the sound of a siren filling the air. "Seatbelt! This is gunna get rough." Ty stomped the gas pedal.
100, 110, 125...
The car was maxed out, and the two kids were now in a high-speed chase. This could get ugly...
"F***"!" she shouted. She nervously puffed her cigarette and slid back into the seat. They were doomed.
Charlotte suddenly felt a weird sensation forming in her stomach and making its way north. Almost as if she was going to puke. She groaned and closed her eyes, bracing herself for the waves of nausea.
Nothing.
The blonde peeked through one eye and spotted a puddle ahead of them, and slightly to the right. That's what she was feeling. She steadied herself and leaned out of the car, her arm extended as she began focusing on the puddle. She could see, and feel, it getting closer, until the passed it. She flexed her fingers and watched as part of the puddle seized up. It trudged towards them slowly. How stubborn water could be. Really! She grunted, exerting more force and speeding up the water slightly so here would be less distance between the two.
She ambled on her knees, twisting so she could face the cops. A look of uneasiness and strain covered her face. She saw one of the officers flash their lights, and her arms shot forward and made a sweeping motion, almost as if she had just swung a bat. Her eyes watched as the ball of water, roughly the size of a hula-hoop, collided with the side of the police car.
Charlotte watched as the ball continued to push, nudging the first car into the one next to it. She tried to smile through the pain of controlling it as the two cars began to shake, parks sparking until the drivers lost control and had to pull back.
She sat down, her face flushed and her breathing shallow. "There's one left," she muttered, exhausted. She really needed to practice. "Find a lake or something and we'll be fine."

Ty let out a cackle as Charlotte used her mutation to take out two of the three cop cars. He let out a 'rebel yell,' completely giving away his Georgia origin, even if it was far behind him. The fire in Ty's eyes grew, and it was apparent the lad was...enjoying this? Of course. Ty lived for the rush, and as long as they didn't get caught, this was amazing.
A lake? Maybe she wanted to take this one out, and good. No big.
Ty slowed the car enough to safely turn onto another country road before putting the pedal to it again. "There's a lake right up here. What're you planning on doing to 'im?"
"Just keep driving" she demanded, turning her attention towards the lake. She'd never done this before, but if she timed it right, and diverted all her attention to it, she could potentially make this car drive on the water. "Just, don't stop driving."
She thrust her arms out before her, fingers spread apart and palms facing the lake. She closed her eyes and formed the image of the lake in her mind, feeling the surface of the water they were about to hit solid. It'd be rickety, almost like driving on wood. But she could do it. Focus was the key.
She took a deep breath and exhaled, her fingers starting to tense up as she felt the car hit the water, tires squealing as it got accustomed to driving on the non-asphalt surface. "Ladies and gentleman, please keep your hands and feet in the ride at all times." she giggled, suddenly taking a sharp breath and turning her attention back to the water. She didn't know how much longer she could keep it up; she was straining herself, and knew they wouldn't make it to the other side of the lake.
But Ty obeyed. His face was stone-solemn, eyes focused on the roa--water ahead as his mouth was held tight. His gloves hid the fact that he was white-knuckling the steering wheel.
The ride was rickety, but they weren't dead yet, which was always a good sign. But then he looked over and saw the condition of his new friend. "Whatever you do, keep this up. Not too much farther now and we'll be on the other side, you can do this."
However, the air was pierced by a gunshot, followed by the sound of their tire being hit, and Ty let out strings of expletives as he tried and was utterly failing to keep control of the car.
Charlotte thought she was handling it pretty well. Her face was flustered and a small sheen of sweat had formed on her forehead, but they were driving across the water and that's all that mattered. She just had to stay
BANG!
The shot rang through the air. They were shooting at them! Did they not see she was trying to concentrate?! She let out a low grunt and glanced over her shoulder to give them a face. Instantly, she realized her mistake. The car began to shake, and she let out a small whine. The connection she had was dissipating fast, and there was nothing she could do to regain it. She shot Ty an apologetic look. "I hope you can swim." she mumbled.
The car had already began to sunk, and was slowly seeping through the cracks and parts of the car. Before she knew it, it was already up to her knees. She definitely didn't have the energy to try and use the water to push the car. They were stuck.

Oh crap...the car was going under! Swim...Great. Cue up another string of expletives, only mentally this time. "Actually no I can't..." Ty mumbled back as water began to fill into the topless car. Nonetheless, the seatbelt came off.
And when a bullet whizzed by his head, he lost all reservations and dove out of the car into the water. The murky lake water began to fill his lungs as he struggled to stay afloat, but to no avail.
Oh well...if nothing else I can die knowing I wasn't shot by some stupid human cop...
It was just her luck that he couldn't swim. She shook her head and let out a small laugh, jumping out of the car and splashing into the water.. if you could even call if that. It was so murky and slimy, almost like swimming through sludge. Charlotte paddled around the car to where Ty was and grabbed his hand. She hoisted him up and used her shoulder to support him.
She kicked her legs to keep them afloat, which was rather hard considering there was twice the weight that she was used to. "A little help would be nice." she muttered. The sentence was directed more so to the water than anything else. As if on command, the water around them began rippling, slowly propelling them towards land.
The blonde dragged Ty onto land, finding a spot behind a large tree to rest. Hopefully the cops would leave them be. "Sorry about that, I wasn't expecting to be shot at." she apologized, her hands trying to wring out her hair. She felt gross, and was in dire need of a shower.

Ty felt himself sputtering and fighting to get to the surface, but to no use. However, he did feel someone holding him after a bit, and was soon on land, coughing up the nasty sludge-water.
"It's fine...neither of us were," he panted. "At least, at least our friend left." Once he caught his breath, he sat up and looked at her with a small smile. "So, that enough fun for ya?" he teased.
Charlotte leaned back against the tree, her eyes closed as she tried to catch her breath. Trying to keep the car on the surface had taken a lot out of her. She felt around for her purse and dug inside for her pack of cigarettes. What she found was a soggy container of wet tobacco. A groan escaped her throat as she tossed the pack aside, making a mental note to pick up more on her way home.
Shooting a glance at her equally wet and exhausted friend, she offered a smile of her own. "It wasn't terrible. Although I am sorry about the whole sinking the car thing. I'm sure that wasn't what you had in mind."
