The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Productive, creative, yet legal uses for restlessness tended to be in short supply, at least in the mind of one Ty Fisher. Well...he'd taken a hiatus from his usual outlets ages ago, but maybe it was time he...hey, old habits die hard, right?
So, here he was, walking down the street in the middle of the day. His hands were covered by a pair of black, studded fingerless gloves--he was finally running the usual green ones through the wash. He wore a black shirt with a white fish skeleton on the front, and a pair of faded, dark blue jeans along with his trademark black sneakers laced with green laces.
His red hair was semi-messy, and his icy blue eyes looked around with a twinge of mischief in them. Finally, he saw the perfect car. A black convertible, sleek, sexy, and powerful. He licked his lips as he walked over to the masterpiece, checking to see if anyone was looking before hopping in and popping open the panel and looking at the wires.
He bit his lip, but to the troublemaker, hot-wiring was like riding a bike. You don't forget, it's just a little wobbly at first sometimes.
A smile came to the young man's face as the car roared to life.
Charlotte had never been one for strolling. If she left her apartment it was either to go to work or something else of importance. But today she felt...off. And the only thing her body seemed to ache for was a walk around the city. She even treated herself to Starbucks, ordering some caramel mocha crumble triple-shot low-fat..thing. It was cloyingly sweet, almost as if someone had dumped a bag of sugar in and flavored it with coffee. She sipped it slowly, shuddering as she felt the sweetness slowly rot her teeth.
She had straightened her hair today, which seemed to frame her face much better. She chose to wear a black mini-skirt she hadn't worn since high school, which surprisingly still fit, and a white v-neck. Stopping to admire herself in a mirror, a sketchy figure crossed her field of vision. Instinctively she turned to get a better look, her blue eyes following the red-headed boy as he approached a convertible. Something wasn't right.
She took a few steps forward, and cocked her head. "There's no way." she mumbled to herself. Her feet carried her forward, stopping a few feet shy of the car. Thankfully, he was facing the same way and couldn't see her. The blonde leaned forward and saw him fiddle with the wires; she was in absolute shock. What kind of balls did this kid have to steal a car in the middle of the day?
The car came to life, a low and steady hum that filled her ears. And before she could blink, Charlotte found her hand clutching the car door and nonchalantly sliding into the passenger seat, as if she was condoning thievery.
"Uhhh.." she started, her voice quivering ever so slightly. "You know this is illegal..right?" Of course it was illegal. Like pointing out the obvious would stop him from committing an act that, from the looks of it, seems to have been done many times before.
Ty jerked, nearly jumping out of his skin when he heard the voice. Things like this always seemed to happen when he attempted stealing nowadays. If he wasn't getting caught red handed, or trapped in the van he was trying to rob, random girls were just sliding into the passenger seat of his newly stolen--wait...
"Uh...yeeeah..." Ty said quietly, nodding. All the while he was looking at her with this funny expression, like she'd sprouted another head or something. Then again...with the day and age they lived in, that actually wasn't that weird. In fact, seeing someone sprout an extra head would have probably startled Ty less than sliding into the car he was trying to steal.
"This uh...this isn't yours, is it?" he asked, turning a nice shade of pink, but suddenly the kid was jolted again.
"Put on your seat-belt." Ty instructed. "I have this thing about seat-belts being on before I--"
"Hey! My car!"
"****! Seatbelt, now," Ty said, more firm and urgently as he threw the black convertible into gear and hit the gas, speeding off down the road and weaving through traffic.
Of course...they were in New York, and the traffic wasn't exactly clear. Not that it mattered; this wasn't exactly Ty's first time navigating a stolen car through hellish traffic. Though he was probably going to give the poor girl next to him a heart attack.
He turned off onto another street, and hit where traffic had eased some. Ty looked in the rearview mirror every now and then, checking for cops.
"So...do you always jump into cars while they're being hotwired, or...?"
"Oh god, I'm sorry. I probably scared the crap out of you."
Wait, why was she apologizing? She wasn't the one stealing a car. She stared at him, responding to his look of confusion with a raised eyebrow.
"No, no. Unfortunately it's not mine. I couldn't afford it." Charlotte admitted, letting out a small laugh, clicking her seat-belt. He may had been stealing the car, but at least he was a safe driver. She shot a glance over her shoulder as the owner of the car approached them. The car jolted forward, and she turned to give the owner a small wave. "We'll bring it back, I promise!" she shouted back. They would bring it back..right? She wasn't sure about the rules of car thievery.
As the cars and people passed them in a blur of color, it finally hit her. She was in a stolen car. She could get arrested. She had to get out. Although at the speed he was going, she'd rather risk getting in trouble than trying to jump out of the car. She fiddled for a cigarette, leaning down toward the floorboard so she could light it easier.
She let out a small stream of smoke as she glanced over to the driver. "No, this is my first time, actually. I'm sure you've never had someone jump in, either." Charlotte chuckled, running a hand through her hair in an attempt to keep it tame while the wind whipped it around her face.

Ty felt a smile cross his lips as the girl shouted back at the angry car-owner. "That's my line," he teased, though it really was a line he found himself using a lot these days.
"I do return them. Usually. Ish," he explained, chewing his lip awkwardly as he kept his eyes on the road. Now, he wasn't really big on smoking, but...hey they were in a convertible. And more importantly, it wasn't his car.
"Well, I usually have company when I do stuff like this, but it was always someone who was with me beforehand. No one ever hopped in like that. Though, I'm curious...why did you hop in?"
He slowed the car to a reasonable speed, turning onto a city street. The car blended in casually. In fact, they looked like they belonged there, two young people in a convertible, hair blowing in the wind...nothing suspicious about that at all.
Charlotte took another drag from her cigarette, doing her best to avoid smiling at the boy. He was funny, but she hadn't quite wrapped her mind around the fact that she was now an accomplice.
"You guess is as good as mine." she mumbled, lifting her shoulders slightly into a shrug. "I just figured you wouldn't go through with it if a stranger was there." She paused to puff on her cigarette. "And I definitely wasn't expecting the owner to show up."
She looked up towards the sky, admiring the buildings and lack of clouds. What did one talk about with someone they had just met in a stolen car? "I'm Charlotte, by the way." She flashed a small smile at the redhead, before checking behind them for any police.
"If we get in trouble, I'm going to drown you." She let out a small laugh to let him know she was joking. But really, he would be in for a world of hurt if anything happened to them.

Ty chuckled. "Doing things for the sheer hell of it is an okay answer in my book," he replied. "Yeah, you learn to expect the unexpected. If it can go wrong, it probably will, especially in my case."
His eyes flashed with a hint of mischief. "Ty. And I am trouble," he almost purred, adding a wink. "Well, I'm not one for the whole jail scene. And I have yet to get caught...but if you want we can ditch this bad boy before the cops do show." He gave another grin, looking around as well.
"I wasn't expecting company, but I was too far into it to turn back. Besides...it was fun, right?"
"Nice to meet you." Charlotte responded, turning her head away to hide the red color that flourished on her cheeks. She wasn't much for blushing, but something about the whole situation made her feel...vulnerable. At the mention of turning back, her heart almost sank. She was having fun! This was the most adrenaline rush she'd had in..forever.
She took her last puff of the cigarette and flicked it onto the street, shaking her head. "No no. We can keep driving," she countered. "I mean, we haven't been caught yet, so..." she let her voice trail off. Why ruin a good time?
"So do you do anything besides.." Charlotte waved her hand around for effect. "this?" She figured the more she talked, the less likely Ty would be to take the car back.

"You too," Ty answered. This girl had to be one of the most interesting he'd run into yet. Really, anyone who'd jump in some random guy's car as he's hotwiring it had to lead quite the life, at least in Ty's book.
"Okay, but the key word is yet," Ty cautioned. "Just saying. I've had my fair share of close calls. And then some. But we can go a little more."
Ty chuckled at her question. "Well, I pick pockets, used to be into petty thievery, but that, and this, are all hobbies now. Started off, it was a necessity. Then things picked up, and I got jobs as an informant of sorts, due to my ability to touch things and see its history. I actually tried taking a hiatus from this lifestyle...but I just wasn't the same without it. This sorta rush seems to be the only cure for my restlessness..." his voice trailed off as he took in the sights, sounds, and the feeling of the open air on the road.
Charlotte nodded in agreement. They were have a good time, but she hoped nothing went awry. She could potentially cause a distraction if the cops closed in on them, but hopefully it wouldn't come to that,
"Those are your hobbies?" she laughed, giving a slight shake of her head. "All I like to do is shop, and swim. Since I can control water and all that good stuff." she added. If he could drop the fact that he was a mutant, then so could she. Although she was curious, how exactly did that work? Did he just choose what objects' history he could look at, or did it happen automatically? She glanced at the steering wheel and noticed the gloves that he more.
"Is that was those are for?" Charlotte queried, motioning towards them. "I'm sure you've seen some crazy things."
The blonde hadn't met many mutants in her life. She could probably count them all on one hand, not including her brother. "So," she paused, pursing her lips before she continued her sentence. "Are you a part of any of those groups? Like, the X-Men or the, uh..."she broke off, the name of the other faction slipping from her mind. "The other one, whatever it's called."

"Things I do for fun, yeah. I know, it's weird. But I'm a pretty weird guy." Ty blushed lightly, shrugging.
"Yeah, that's what they were for originally, but then I found this style, which is a little more fashionable than full gloves all the time. I usually wear green ones, but my green pair is in the laundry."
He blinked at the mention of factions. The X-Men were sort of well-known, yes, but the.."other" one, he was told prided itself on its secrecy. Something he swore by. Besides, maybe she meant some other other faction...
"I tend to do most of my work alone," Ty answered. "To my knowledge, I haven't met a member of either. Just a street punk, doing what he has to in order to get by, and whatever he can for a good time."
"You aren't weird. You seem pretty cute- I mean, normal. You look absolutely normal." she stammered, letting out a small laugh in order to cover her slip up. Charlotte had finally given up taming her hair, she she dropped her hands in defeat and let the wind ship through it.
"I'm kind of on my own, too." she said with a shrug. It's not like she actually fought or saved lives or anything. "Although, between you and me, some of those X-Men guys seem like real jerks. " she whispered, leaning in towards the red-head for emphasis. Why was it they were allowed to run around in suits -very tacky ones, at that- saving livings, but everyone looked down on the other mutants? They weren't special.
"There's a nice ice-cream shop down there, by the way." she offered, pointing to a street that flew past them in a blur. "In case you ever get a sweet tooth while you're doing your hobbies."

Ty smiled, more smugly this time. "I heard cute," he teased. "And that's what I'm sticking with." He winked, stopping the car at a red light. He chuckled at her comment. "Yeah. People try to point out the good guys, the bad guys...but the thing is...this ain't no comic book. The good guys don't always wear white, and even they have skeletons in their closets. There's good and evil in everyone. Who's to say today's hero won't be the villain tomorrow? They say we're freaks...we're still people. We have our own lives, our own secrets. Our own light and darkness. We are who we are, and who's to try to change us or tell us what we can or cannot be?"
He paused after his little rant, blushing a little. "Ice cream huh? I'll have to remember that, then."
"I did not say cute." she mumbled, looking away from him and decidedly crossed her arms with a 'huff'. She listened to Ty's small spiel, finding her head slowly nodding along in agreement. This kid, however old he was, sounded more mature than half of the adults she had met in this city.
Charlotte broke her fake pout and nudged him with his left elbow. "You've got it all figured out, kid. You should be put on posters." she joked, letting her head roll from side to side in an attempt to stretch the muscles. "Sooooo," she began, flashing a mischievous smile at the driver. "are we going to lolly-gag all day or are you going to show me some fun?" She had intended to stop the car-jacking when she hopped in the car; but the more they drove around, the more she yearned for trouble.

"Whatever you say~" Ty chimed back, turning onto another street. "I like to think I got it all figured out. Most of the time my plans and ideas and all just look good on paper." He grinned back at her.
"I may be on a few posters," he answered after a moment. "Wanted posters, heh..." He blinked at her next question, however.
"Depends. What's your definition of fun?" he asked, pretty sure that the cops finding them wasn't on that list.
