The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

James was going to reply to Leons question as they rounded the corner and started walking towards what was obviously the mansion. Instead he replied with a dismissive shrug and looked intently at the large iron gates feeling rather excited.
When Serena started talking he wasn't really listening for the first bit, mainly because he was concentrating on trying to suppress the nervous feeling coming from deep in his stomach. As always the concept of having to talk to strangers had its effect on him, making his body go all awkwardly rigid.
Doing his best to shake it off James started listening properly to Serena. He was pleasantly surprised to hear that the small blonde had been thinking from the same point of view as him. After she apologized for her short outburst of reason James wasn't sure what to say, his mind was mainly focused of getting down the road and into the mansion.
"Urm, Its alright. Don't apologize." Again, James was tempted to ask her what had happened but decided against it, not wanting to pry having seen how that approach turned out with Leon.
Turning to Leon then, he shrugged and smiled sympathetically yet awkwardly. "I suppose I should apologize for prying, sorry about that" Feeling even more awkward now he avoided eye contact and nodded towards the gates "come on. I dunno about you Leon, but I'm dying to get a look at the whats behind those gates"
While he picked up the pace he focused most of his attention inward, trying to do his best to kill the awkwardness which was threatening to surface properly.

Leon was still angry, but decided to drop the matter. She was right about one thing though he did need friends if he was to live at the mansion, preferably friends who weren't going to get on his nerves but these two seemed OK. As he looked up at the mansion in the distance he had conflicting emotions brought up, firstly there was the size of it the place was big. And the fact that it had a huge iron gate says it all, however there was the second set of emotions that reminded him of home, or at least his old building at Eton. With both of these rushing up at the same time he found it hard to tell whether he liked the look, or the prospect of living there.
Serena's comment on his mocking tone brought him back to the conversation at hand. And the fact that Jame's just took the comments without reaction, and worse apologized to him for getting insulted slightly baffled Leon. He tried to get the measure of James when they first bumped into him but he just couldn't tell. In Leon's mind anyone who could turn into metal would be harder than this, not just in body but mind.
"No need to apologize to me, and anyway it was just a bit of fun. See he doesn't seem to mind." He said, putting his lighter back in his pocket. After that he started to walk faster in the direction of the Mansion, it was not high on his to-do list to meet some more anti-mutant people. Especially if they would be inclined to use violence on them. Although he wouldn't really want to meet them a part of him did want a few to try something, not many just a few so that he could let off a bit of steam and have some fun.
With that thought he slowly looked around trying to not draw attention to what he was doing. As far as he could see the coast was clear and there was nobody in sight. Oh well there is always next time. He thought feeling slightly disappointed.
Serena simply shrugged at Leon's comment. She didn't really mind, she had just been stressed out because of revision and the tensions in the city which had recently come to a boil due to Maxine Ralls. That stupid stupid reporter.
There were not many things that could truly make Serena angry, but what that reporter had done to the city was simply unforgivable.
She saw the oddly enough, comforting iron gates of the mansion. This was her home, the place where she didn't have to worry about the rioters on the outside, because there were staff and teachers who had dedicated themselves to looking after the children of the school.
She grinned as the finished their approach to the massive Iron gates. Serena turned to the two of them. "Told you it was big." She stated, simply.
She wondered how the two would get along at the mansion. Leon seemed slightly cynical, but not a bad person. And James seemed to be fairly nice, if not quiet. She wondered if they would find it hard to adapt to living at the mansion.
