The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Things as always escalated quickly, Sara was being pinned down now by the guy with the electric snakes in his arms while the big red apish dude was running towards him. Sam lowered his level and exhaled his breath becoming perfectly visible as the temperature around him dropped quickly.
Eve yelled something about the power coming from his torso; he smirked slightly and tried not to give her a sarcastic quip about him knowing full well where the power came from. He was a teacher of self-defense so of course he knew where it was coming from. The ape swung and Sam stepped to the side avoiding the punch but still feeling the aftershock as he punched through the pavement. ”Damn.” was all Sam said as he used his hands and pushed off the big red arm sending himself back a foot or so.
Sliding on his now iced over feet Sam shifted his attention to Eve ”Strength is always in the torso.” Sam smirked, ”Sometimes even the hips.” he put a little inflection towards the end of his comment because he was on the verge of a small chuckle even if the timing was inappropriate. As the temperature continued to drop big red and the electric snake guy became more visible along with Sara and Eve. He couldn’t see them per say but rather feel them the longer he focused.
”How you holding up Sara?” Sam asked as he jumped back again and then ducked as big red swung at him twice more. Truth be told he’d rather stick with the heavy hitter than the electric guy but that was only because he didn’t have the best control of himself when he was getting shocked. An ice wall erupted as the ape-wolf swung again his hand punctured through it with ease however he couldn’t pull it back. Willing the ice to hold onto him the ape put in some more effort till Sam released him causing him to fall on his rear and somersault back.
Turning his hand and head Sam focused on the electric guy shooting some shards of ice in his direction if not to cause him to release Sara and block the attack at least long enough to distract him. ”How about something a little more useful snowflake, or I’m gonna go back to calling you blondie!” taunted Sam as he snapped his head back to big red who was slowly getting to his feet.
“I’m fine Slick.” Sara’s voice was a little strained. Sara braced herself as sparks flashed all the way up the snake like appendages. Her fangs flashed out from between her lips, and her free hand reached farther up, past the part of the other mutant that was wrapped around her wrist, and she sank her claws from her free hand, into the other. The electric mutant flinched as Sara did so, and she pulled him forward with a sharp tug. Getting shocked hurt like hell and Sara could only imagine Sparky using more electricity on her if he wanted to. Not something that she wanted to experience.
Sparky fell forward on his knees, then his face, and Sara took advantage of the moment by covering the distance between the two of them. Evelyn said something in the back ground, about where Sparky’s electricity came from. Well it was obvious after her first exchange with the electric mutant that the electricity came from the snake like tentacles, but it was nice knowing, in theory, that there weren’t any other ways of controlling the electricity on him. Later, in hindsight, Sara would have thought about how listening to Eve would have been a better plan, but for now, smacking him around seemed like a better plan.
And did Sara hear Slick flirting with Snowflake? Sara was focused on her opponent but there was something about the banter that made her smirk.
Both of the snake like tentacles snapped to life and headed to intercept Sara. She saw both attacks coming and sailed over both of them. The two snake heads collided shocking each other and Sparky groaned. Apparently he wasn’t immune to his own ability. Huhh… Oh this could be fun.
With a hop, skip, and a jump Sara landed next to Sparky, who was trying to get up. She grabbed him by the back of the neck, Her claws pressed threateningly close to his pulse on either side though not hard enough to kill him though enough to send him an unspoken message. She could. If he moved, she would… or might… or…. What ever it was, Sparky got the message because Sara felt his breath get caught in his throat. “Sam!.. Clear!”
Sara’s intentions were to throw Sparky at the huge red ape like mutant once Sam had a warning. She was pulling Sparky up by his neck and a tight squeeze on his arm when a third mutant zoomed past her. Giving Sara a shove from behind so that she fell on top of Sparky, making her hair fly and flap around her shoulders in her slipstream. The speeding mutant dodged Sam and the mountain of muscle, straight for Evelyn. The speed mutant was just a blur until she stopped just behind Evelyn’s elbow. Her short hair was spiked and looked like it’s styling could have been done on the run by the pure nature of her mutation.
One of the speed mutant’s arms griped around Evelyn’s shoulder across the front of her neck. The other held a knife against Evelyn’s throat. “I’m going to give you two options.” She said from just behind Evelyn. “Leave the city, or join us.”
Sara had regained her balance though she kneeled on Sparky. Her right hand never let go of the back of Sparky’s neck. Her left hand flexed it’s claws so that they were off of the way out, an inch away from his throat as she made eye contact with the new mutant. Watching her tighten her grip on both Evelyn and her knife at Evelyn’s throat.

Ok, so in hindsight the echoes she chose to repeat didn't come across as helpful, just... obvious. But with blood loss, stress, and general dizziness, it was hard sorting out the useful information. She growled at Sam's response, resisting the urge to give him an unladylike gesture. "Hey I'm doing the best I can! If you'd like to trade me, I can kick someones ass while you deal with the voices in your head." She grumbled. Her hair may have been snow colored, but her face was turning pink.
"All I was saying was you could focus on the legs. Take out his balance!" Another wayward piece of debris, and she side stepped it. "But since you seem to have it covered and you know, you already know what I'm saying, I'll let you fight." Irritable, dumb, men.
The cat mutant (Or lion? The echoes seemed to think the later) was dealing with her own opponent rather well, so Evelyn just went back to trying to find somewhere safer to hide. There was the general sounds of brawling making it hard to process information in her surroundings, and without anything to defend herself, she felt rather helpless. That was even before there was the faint whisper of wind and a hand grabbed her shoulder.
She didn't need the echoes to let her know what was pressed against her throat.
The angry color drained from her face and cold fear took it's place. She hated knives; all knives, from steak knives to hunting knives like this one. The way they hit skin, and the blood--She shut her eyes for a moment, trying to process her minds panicked scramble of information. [Mutant speedster, female. Right handed. Knife, roughly four inches. Sharp, double edged. Grip on handle, experienced with weapon. Battle familiar. Suddenly, the scratches seemed like a small detail.
Her eyes opened, and the color was gone, voids of grey trying to find someway to escape. The obvious option would be the cold. Cold would slow the faster moving molecules and give them a change. But she wasn't sure if that was enough to get the knife away from her throat, or if it could even work with her close to the speedster. She didn't understand enough of the nature of Sam's mutation to know if he could direct it that well. But the fear of the blade was bigger than anything else. "You got a nice little cut there on your arm. Your cat friend and you disagree?" She said in a low growl to her attacker. She managed to keep the terror out of her voice, even if her hands were trembling unwillingly. The muscles flexed on the arm, but the body behind her flinched ever so slightly. It was a small jibe but it brought more pressure against her skin, risking cutting something.
"Why don't you keep your mouth shut." The mutant snarled. Evelyn obliged, but watched as the figure shifted the knife momentarily, seeking a better grip.

Sam rolled his eye as he hopped back again further away from big red another punch and the pavement crumbled again. Sam doubted his ice armor could hold up to a direct hit. He was no abyss but was still strong enough to snap him like a twig. ”Voices aren’t a problem had to deal with that before!” yelled back Sam as he jumped back and turned his back towards Eve as big red decided to start forcing him that way. ”I think I like that plan just fine snowflake, you think of something better let me know.” Sam rolled his eye, ”Really? Legs? Got to be kidding me.” Sam said more to himself but loud enough for those around him to hear.
>>>”Sam!.. Clear!”
Sam could feel Sara grab a hold of the guy they were further away but by now his mutation had reached further than that. All was visible to him in terms of body heat. Big red, Sara, electric snake guy and Eve. A flash of red passed closer to Sara and he turned his head jumping back again creating more distance between him and his current dance partner. Almost instantly he snapped his head towards Eve who had another heat signature behind her. There was a woman with a knife to Evee’s throat. Sam frowned and looked back to his dance partner and lifted his hands up in a surrendering pose but didn’t lower his ice armor which was now covering his body.
Big red stopped swinging for a second and Sam turned his head to the woman who gave him two very poor options.
>>>> “I’m going to give you two options.” “Leave the city, or join us.”
Sam hesitated for a moment, he looked over to Sara who was getting back in control of her situation. He however was at a standstill with his while he wanted noting more to give this guy a wicked case of some frostbite he had Eve’s health to consider. He liked her company and the thought of her with her throat cut didn’t appeal to him. He frowned slightly and looked to big red and took another step back. ”Can’t take me one on one? Have to get your little girlfriend to fight your battles for ya huh, ya big puss?”
Big red snarled and threw a backhand towards Sam, seeing it coming he jumped off the ground slightly and willed the armor where the point of contact to be as dense as he could make it. Everything flashed around him and he felt Gravity’s hold on him vanish as he was launched into the building Eve and the speedster were standing in front of. The wall didn’t even hold up from the pressure and he felt himself go through the wall or rather walls and out of sight.
Sara glared at the speed mutant. She was a lot faster than her and she hadn’t even seen her coming when the woman had shoved Sara from behind. Her tail twitched and when Sam put his hands in the air, for a moment, Sara’s glare moved to the ape like mutant to make sure that he was going to hold.
"You got a nice little cut there on your arm. Your cat friend and you disagree?"
Sara leaned heavily on her knee at the base of the electric mutant’s back. Her ears flicked back against her hair when Evelyn mentioned the cut on speedy’s arm. Ok. Sara could try to use that information to her advantage. But how…. Before She could really do anything, Sam had to put his own two cents in.
”Can’t take me one on one? Have to get your little girlfriend to fight your battles for ya huh, ya big puss?”
Ape dud sent Sam through the wall with a sweep of his arm and Sara found herself standing with a deep throated and sharp growl. Sparky was hauled up and tripped to his feet as Sara kept her grip on him. Sara’s other hand still less than an inch away from his neck. Her claws still fully unsheathed. Sara took two steps closer to the ape mutant, hauling Sparky with her. Her movement caught both the red ape like mutant’s attention, and Speekys and she let out a sharp snarl to keep it. Speedy ever readjusting her grip on Evelyn’s neck.
“You stop right there flea bag.” Speedy yelled. And Sara listened for now.
“Name calling isn’t really needed. Is it?” Sara swayed on the balls of her feet, anxious to check on Sam but refusing to just drop the situation. If he wasn’t badly injured, he was going to be when Sara finished this situation.
“You got a name then?” Speedy asked.
Sara wrinkled her nose, letting the edges of her teeth and fangs show more than usual. “Were.” Sara kept reminding herself that Sam wasn’t that stupid. That he thought of strategy a lot, but at the same time, Sara was mentally preparing herself for taking on all three of the mutants that were attacking them.
“Well Were.” Speedy addressed Sara. The four inch knife slid lightly up Evelyn’s skin as she did so. “Why are you against us?” Speedy’s eyes were whide and her thin dark lips broke into a wide smile that the joker would have been proud of. “The way I see it, is you know what it’s like. You know. To be a minority.”
“Just drop Blondie and get lost.” If Evelyn had another name that was mentioned, all Sara could think of where the nick names right now. However Speedy continued as if she hadn’t said anything at all.
“Join us and you’ll have someone else to back you up. Someone with some real power to change this country. We can change the world and all we have to do is finally stand up for ourselves. We can send message straight to those in power to say we have power.”
Sara scoffed. Mean while thinking of how she could keep her distracted. Keep her attention for the time being because maybe then she could get distracted. Maybe even make a big enough mistake for Sara to grab Evelyn. “So let me get this straight. You want to prove that you have power, by hiding behind Blondie.” Sara chuckled with a voice that was so deep in her throat it sounded more animal than human again. “Somehow, I doubt that world conquest is within your reach. What do you say you let her go and we go a couple of rounds. Did your cat friend give you that option? Heck. I’ll even let you keep the knife.” Sara taunted.
Every ‘I can take care of myself’ speech, every ‘mutants aren’t bad’ statement, and every ‘I’m not a damsel in distress’ statement Evelyn had ever made ran through her head. Which proved to be a lot, but under the circumstances she had the time to think of them. As she did, she decided she regretted them.
All.
The metal on her throat was cold, and it was starting to hurt whenever she swallowed, and the hand on her shoulder stopped her from moving anywhere. Her arms were stinging with pain again, the cold having worn off, and her cheek was feeling caked with the dry blood. She certainly was not able to take care of herself right now. She was starting to think these mutants could be considered 'bad' and she was very much a damsel in distress.
So, someone, save me. She thought bitterly.
And then Sam went flying through the wall. She flinched then groaned. "Stillll got a knife to my throat..."
Were moved slowly, addressing the speedster, and Evelyn pulled herself out of her playbacks to listen to the conversation. Her mouth twitched as she did, and her brow furrowed just a bit as she glared at the cat. Blondie.... Seriously? What is up with people and calling her a blondie! Her hair was closer to white, anyway. Platinum. That was a good name for it. . . But she would grumble at Were once she was off the chopping block. "She's got a point. I think I'd fall into the 'unfortunate casualty' area, and if you want to make a point I don't think you know, killing me would help your--" knifeknifeknifeknife. She shut up before the speedster could nick the skin.

Sam opened his eye and pushed a thin piece of drywall off his chest. Letting out a muffled cough Sam tried to catch his breath ignoring the sudden pain he was feeling from getting b**** smacked through a building. The brick wall caved easily enough seeing how he went mostly through the window but his armor was cracked and ready to fall apart. ”Shit. Not the best idea…” groaned Sam quietly as he pushed himself upright slowly and shook his head trying to get his strategy plotted out.
Okay so it wasn’t the best idea he ever had but it was the only one he had to run with, get out of sight and try to get the drop on the speedster. It was obvious she was faster than Sara otherwise Sara would have taken her down before she got to Eve. Sam frowned as he walked closer to the hole he was sent through. Big red wasn’t coming in after him so they figured he was down for the count. Sam touched his ribs where the ice had been the thickest, if it wasn’t for that he might have been.
Outside he could hear the situation well enough if only because Eve and the speedster were so close. Sara was stalling. Good. Sam hold on the air temperature was still in affect though he did almost lose it during the smack luckily he willed it to become colder meaning it made his armor a little more impact resistant. Sam leaned over slightly poking his head out a nearby window making sure not to be seen his ribs made it difficult but he fought through the pain. ”Me and my million dollar ideas…” Sam muttered under his breath as he quietly willed some ice to form behind the speedster.
It would make things difficult but it wouldn’t be enough she still had the knife on Eve’s throat. Sam’s eye fixed on Sara again then back to Eve and the speedster. He’d have to take her legs or leg making it impossible for her to run. It would be messy but it would get the job done. Sam closed his eye though and felt for Eve’s body heat. He focused on the air in front of her to cool, slowly at first but then faster. ”Powers better be good for something…” Sam muttered hoping she’d notice the subtle change before he finished his plan.
Ice started to creep up her neck, a thin enough layer at first but before he was finished with it he hoped the next part of his plan would come into effect. Sam counted in his head and kept his focus on her neck making sure not to cause any nerve damage. The ice closest to her was cold but the outer layer was even colder. He frowned slightly and opened his eye. Sam turned slightly and went to the hole in the wall and focused on the ice he created behind the speedster. Willing a golem’s hand to form it quickly turned into a knife.
A quick slash was all it took and he heard the scream the woman’s leg buckled when the Achilles tendon was cut the ice golem’s hand shattered and the ice remained as Sam jumped down from the hole and formed an ice slide as quickly as he could towards the pair he was reaching out for Eve hoping she had enough sense not to drop.
Sam poked his head out only enough for Sara to see and her eyes narrowed on his, then back on the speedster. Good. Sam was alive. Sara was going to have a chance to kill him later over this. “That’s right. You and me.” Sara taunted as she stalled some more. Her tail twitching.
The speedster just shook her head. Sara might have had her claws near the electric mutant’s neck to hold them, but her mind was starting to change and Sara could sense it. It seemed that she wasn’t the only one to sense the change in the speedster mutant’s mind either because the electric mutant tightened his grip on Sara’s arm, trying to pull her claws away from his throat. “Bob. Just waist the both of them. If Jerome survives, cool.”
Bob strolled closer to Sara, as it seemed that was the big red ape like mutant’s name. Bob raised a hand intending to smash Sara and her hostage the way he had smashed Sam, And that’s when Sam struck. The speedster screamed out in pain, and Sara was somewhat satisfied to see her behind Bob, fall clutching at her leg. “Being normal sucks. Huh.” Sara muttered and she turned her attention on Bob.
She pulled back on the electric mutant. “Odds are low for you. You know that right Red?” Sara said. But he didn’t really seem to get the warning though. He swung one more time at Sara and her hostage, and this time, instead of dodging back, she charged back at the mutant. Ducking under the arm and shoving sparky against him. He howled in pain as it seemed that the snakes had started to over load with withheld electricity. Releasing it all when they came in contact with Bob.
Bob went dowwwwn!...
Ok. Now to get out of here before any moisture found it’s way to Sara’s feet and carried any electricity with it. She jumped straight up, grabbing a hold of a window sill and dangling there unceremoniously.

Fear had a way of making everything else fuzzy and difficult to process. While being able to think of a plan or even free herself from the hands of the speedsters would have been nice, the cold sensation she felt with the piece of metal against her throat was enough to leave her mind filled with pointless echoes she couldn't direct. Oh she was learning plenty about the girl's hairstyle, the weather, the damage to the building behind them and the amount of time it might take to buckle. Escape? Nothing. So the knife continued to give her chills. In fact, that cold sensation was becoming more prominent against the base of her neck...
[Reenforced ice, temperature difference against skin and outward. Protective layer against nice.]
Oh thank--
The scream of the speedster sent a chill down her spin, and as the girl jerked away Evelyn Scrambling from her hold. The echoes finally pointed her in a useful direction, and she caught Sam's arm, only taking a moment to consider the icy path he was creating. Electricity rippled as the electric mutant was thrown into the ape man, and Evelyn felt a rush of relief. It must be over...right?

His hand was free of ice by the time Eve grabbed onto it and with the combination of a tug and the momentum already from his ice slide he pulled Eve next to him with ease and gritted teeth and wrapped his arm around her waist making sure she wouldn’t fall. ”You don’t like where my hand is I can put it somewhere else if you’d like.” Sam taunted as he made a sharp turn to avoid Big Red who was stumbling backwards now getting shocked by one of his buddies. ”Nice Sara!” Sam yelled as he made another sharp turn cut down to the ground.
Sam took a step on the pavement and placed his ice free hand towards Eve’s throat and removed the ice covering her neck allowing it to attach to his hand in a solid piece before he tossed it behind him. The air around them was becoming warmer as he was no longer willing the temperature to stay cold. Sam looked over to Sara then raised an eyebrow as his ice armor fell off him as a snake sheds its skin. ”Just one of those days?”
It didn’t take much time after that to look to Eve who he figured would be irritated with the whole situation, ”No pain?” hoping she was for the most part uninjured. His plan wasn’t fool proof while she seemed alive she could have been cut. Sam leaned over towards Eve’s neck to make sure there was no blood. He was happy to see his planned worked for being such a spur of the moment thing.
Sam shifted his weight and looked over to big red who finally collapsed after tossing the snake guy a few feet away from him. While the speedster was still and clutching her ankle. ”I should probably stop her from bleeding out…” Sam said as he looked from Sara to Eve, ”Can’t believe that worked.” Sam started to walk in the direction of the speedster before placing his arm on his ribs where ice quickly formed under his clothing hoping to reduce the pain.
Sara hung there from the window very much like those famous posters with the kitten clinging to a branch. Hang in there. She braced her feet against the brick of the wall and with her clawed hands digging into the brick of the window ledge, Sara looked back over her shoulder at the ground. Sara pushed off and landed in a kneeling position next to Evelyn and Sam.
”Nice Sara!”
“My pleasure.” Sara said checking her arms and hands for odd injuries that she hadn’t caught before. The deep bite on her arm from one of the snake heads was closed and the electric burns were smoothed over at this point.
”Just one of those days?”
“Right.” Sara straightened herself so that she was in a standing position. Somewhere in the back ground Sparky and Bob had stopped sparking and moving. Sam checked Evelyn for any other injuries to her skin. Specifically her neck where the knife had been. Sara crossed her arms and leaned back against the wall. Her tail twitching as she surveyed the downed opponents. “So Slick. That’s three for me and two for you. Right. I mean it’s not like we’re keeping count or anything.”
”I should probably stop her from bleeding out…”
“Only if you want to make sure she lives.” Sara said smugly. “And yeah it worked, but I might smack you around for that stunt later.” Sara said. Her attention shifted from Sam and the downed mutants in the street, to Evelyn. “Doc Prof is probably busy as heck, but he could have you fixed up and healed quickly.”

Sam's teasing comment made color rush back into her face; the pink warming against the cold from the ice mutant's powers. She stuck out her tongue and then looked away from him before he scrambled her echoes. "Just don't move it any lower and I won't have to smack you." She said lightly, but there was a small smirk on the corner of her mouth. His smile took away some of the seriousness of the situation, and she was glad this time. She couldn't handle much fuss after everything they'd already been through.
"I'm fine. Only scratches I got are the ones I had before you got here." She said, folding her arms across her body. "Just a bit cold now." His trick, while it had saved her life, left a tingling cold sensation lingering around her. At least her cheeks weren't cold...
She glanced towards the speedster, and back to Sara at her rather cold statement. But then she nodded her head at the cat's suggestion. "I may just go back to the museum for now. At least I have a first aid kit there and I can patch up the worst of it..." She wasn't sure what her plans were until the city calmed down. It was hard to tell how long this chaos would last. Was it just a momentary problem, or should she find something for a more long term future? Her apartment was in the middle of it all, and she couldn't imagine being there if someone went barreling through the wall like this fight had done.

”I had big red all worked up anyways.” Sam retorted to Sara’s comment about the scoreboard, ”Sides if you want to keep score pretty sure I can call in a few from all the times you and I got into a scuffle. You remember the one with Luke?” Sam asked trying to remember who had beaten the tar out of the guys.
Sam stopped for a second and looked to Eve, ”Don’t wander too far. If your insisting on going somewhere I’ll make sure you get there in one piece.” it wasn’t really a request he had a sternish look on his face making sure she got the point. He really didn’t want anything to happen to her. From what he could tell she was accident-prone.
Sam made his way past big red and willied some ice to pin him to the pavement along with the electric snake guy. Once they were both stuck to the ground Sam found himself staring at the speedster. ”You didn’t give me much of a choice.” he said while he was looking down on her as she squirmed and screamed. ”I have a friend who is healer and he’ll fix your leg good as new…” Sam paused as she continued to clutch her leg tears streaming down her face as her screams soften when she was realizing what Sam was saying. She disgusted him at this point.
Crouching down and placing an icy hand on her injured leg Sam willed ice to latch onto her wound stopping the blood from draining out and numbing the pain he wasn’t exactly gentle nor did he make it obvious he was putting too much pressure on her leg. ”If I catch wind of you attacking humans again though I won’t hesitate to do this again.” his tone was a serious one and he stared at her till she nodded her head. ”I know what you look like and that is all I need to know.” he loosened the pressure once the ice cast was formed around her leg.
”You’ll go on living your pathetic life with your wasted talents and simple thought process knowing that you attacked the ones you thought you were fighting for.” Sam stared at her for a second till she realized what he was saying, ”She is a mutant and while she isn’t as obvious as you or me you still were willing to throw her life away without a second thought.” she looked towards Eve through Sam’s crouched legs then back up to him. ”Keep that in mind when your preaching about us being so superior to humans your no different from the closed minded bigots that want our kind gone,” he paused and stood up ”Actually your worse then them you have gifts that could help change the world and only waist them.”
Sam turned his back on the woman and took a few steps away from her, ”I hope I made myself clear today, I’d hate to repeat myself.” she stared at him and he nodded his head ”Good.” with that he pulled out his phone and called the police for a pick up and to inform them that there was some complications so after one of them was patched up by their healer he’d make sure she’d find her way to booking.
”Sides if you want to keep score pretty sure I can call in a few from all the times you and I got into a scuffle. You remember the one with Luke?”
“Yeah. But I had all of those guys, with guns, worked up back then.” Sara said imitating Sam. “Plus I had Luke to keep alive.” Sara said more quietly to herself as she remembered the way her friend, Luke, had wanted to run straight for the men with the guns.
Sam addressed Evelyn for a moment, asking her to stay. Sara liked that idea better than just leaving her to fend for herself and even though she didn’t want to see Doc Prof, Sara felt her shoulders slide to be a little more at east. “It’s your choice.” Even if it only slightly urcked Sara.
Mean while Sara couldn’t help but listen to Sam as he informed the speedster about what was going to happen. Sara couldn’t help but pick up on the seriousness of his tone. When she’d expected him to joke back with her a little, she could tell that… something was different … Kind of like how he’d been so serious with Sara when he’d tracked her to one of her warehouses.
As Sam continued about the girl’s wasted talents maybe Sara was thinking of her own talents. What she could do to make a difference. She really could do a lot more in her life than provide other criminals with a way of stashing their things… people… The problem was that for Sara to fully admit this out loud… well… She wasn’t ready to admit this out loud.

Stay. That was a word Evelyn seemed to hear a lot of lately, in a variety of different ways, but perhaps she wouldn't hear it so much if she listened. She just felt so... helpless. Getting chased by the other mutants, there was no way to defend herself. She didn't have a clue how to fight, and her defense strategy involved either talking her way out of a situation (which seemed to just make things worse as of late) or flea. If nothing, she was getting a good cardio workout.
"Don't wander too far..." She repeated once Sam had moved out of auditory range, and it came out slightly disgruntled. She leaned against the wall and sighed, glancing around as if waiting for something else to appear. She knew the ice mutant, but this new female was still strange and her personality seemed... hostile, in a way. The echoes weren't sure whether she was trustworthy yet. The way her body language responded to Sam's speech to the speed mutant showed some form of guilt. Something didn't sit right with her.
She toed the ground and looked towards the street while she waited for Sam to finish.
