The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"I have a proposition for you... One that would have you fulfilling a role of the utmost importance when it comes to the cause." He'd asked for Aura's presence, rather than ordering it. Given his stance in the group, he probably could have been more demanding, but he knew that she was at a bit of a cross roads; because of this, he was sure she would be eager for any and all guidance when it came to helping her own kind.
Where grand massacres were once her forte, now, at least as far as he'd gathered, she hoped to take on the roll of a scalpel, rather than a sword. Such preferences ran parallel with his way of working, and thus, he decided he would take it upon himself to guide her in her quest.
"I will, however, be the most challenging task you have ever undertaken... I ask you now... Are you prepared?" They were in a small office; he'd taken to calling it his own. The giant cockroach didn't plan on staying here long; before too long he hoped to have a much bigger room... perhaps with a view... Not so that he could look outside, but rather so that he could have glass to break nearby if he decided it was throw heavy things time.
The buggy boss man reached into his desk and pulled out a little file, placing it in front of him, and resting three hands on it. The other was absentmindedly preening one of his antennae. Part of him dwelled on whether or not Aura was the best person for this job... He decided she wasn't, but that he didn't really care. The fact that she could actually fail at her task made him feel more alive; It was like a fun little gamble for the fate of millions. How fun!
"Mind you, if I open his file, there is no going back..."

Aura had respect for roach, even before he became one of the Order's leader's. A visable mutant which she admired, roach was skilled as well. More importantly, he was now an Order Leader. Aura was not a fan of a divided leadership, but thing's were what they were. Things were changeing and Aura knew she was to evolve with the times. Change was a necessary in life and tactics and this city was a change she knew she had to more fully embrace. Staying alive had become more import recently as well, with Allsion in the mix.
She looked at roach, her eyes only momentarily looking at the file. "I will do whatever is required. Few of the people i have killed since i arrived in the city have had any real meaning in society. Maybe that church me and Meld went to that time....." she said excited to have a more defined job. SHe knew not the details but knew the job would be different then her usual targets.
"I must change with the time's and this is an opportunity to do just that, to make an actual impact for our cause and not just an impact in the news" she said. It had been some time since she had actually committed a massacre but thing's like that did not leave the human mind's any more at ease. Her recent prison escape had also done wonderd for her reputation amoung the Human news as well.
"I will do whatever is required. Few of the people i have killed since i arrived in the city have had any real meaning in society. Maybe that church me and Meld went to that time.....I must change with the time's and this is an opportunity to do just that, to make an actual impact for our cause and not just an impact in the news"
Roach stared at her for a long, long time; his antennae floated about, half preened as his hand lingered on the file.
"...
...
. . .
Well spoken, my friend."
He opened the file, revealing the face of a young man with a determined look in his eyes; a spark that only those destined for leadership bore. He had brown hair, trimmed short, a perfect complexion, and an honest smile.
"This is Brian Holtz... The man you will make fall in love with you. You will meet him at a church group he frequents, and you will share a great hate that will be the core of your relationship. Together, you will do everything you can to destroy the sin that is mutant kind. You will do so because a mutant was responsible for the death of your father, just as one was responsible for the death of his own."
Roach pushed the file closer to her so she could view the details. "He has to love you, Aura... Or should I say... Samantha Meyers. And once you have his heart, you will steer him to his own demise... If you've garnered enough disgust for him by then, I don't mind if you do the deed yourself... Of course, you would need to make it look like an accident."
He eyed her for a moment longer... It was a lot to take in... "Can you do this, Aura? I will be around as much as possible... We will have to meet in secret, and I will advise you the best I can... But it is of the utmost importance that you are not discovered."

Valkyria
Aura had been prepared to be asked to do a lot of things. Most of them involving horrible acts of murder of select figured from across the country. Aura had been studying the world since she realized how small she really was in the world. Still not one of her idea's was violence free.
What was being asked of her however was so far from the path the god's had given her, it took her a few moments to process what was being asked of her fully. She had no idea how to make anyone fall in love with her. She had never assumed she would live long enough to need to do so, Allison not withstanding. It also meant considerable time not using her Aura, something she had never tried before.
Her doubts however laid entirely with her own capabilities. The plan itself was solid, one could lead the entire heard of the cliff very easily. From there they might even be able to infect the other anti-mutant cells. She smiled as she considered the far reaching effects this could have.
"I do not know if my skills qualify me for this task, it is one however i will do everything in my power to make succeed. Your console will be greatly appreciated as well." she stopped and thought a few moments. "Can gun training be worked in? I feel nervous without my Aura and a form of defense would satisfy that. Also i wish to stage something, either me being attacked or me attacking an obvious Mutant." she said making suggestions she thought might help her get close to the man.
Aura had no idea if she could do this well, but Orders were orders and weather she really wanted to do this or not, despite acting the opposite of everything she had ever been taught, Aura would do so. Aura had to wonder if their was not someone more qualified for such a task.
Samantha Meyers, as she called herself now smiled as she listened to a woman, recount a tale of a Mutant encounter she had that had caused her great pain. Aura was barely paying attention, she had tried well enough but the pettiness of it made Aura want to gut the woman like a fish. Excusing herself politely another thing that made Aura want to toss her cookies, she excused herself and headed for the ladies room. She went to one in the large church that was labeled out of order and as she walked in she caught herself in the mirror.
The nice blue dress, clung tight enough to show her figure but not so much as to look like night attire. Her make up and hair were both done decently. She had received a crash course on it and found her attention to detail with her Aura translated to this skill as well. She had never used make up much before, now it was as much a part of her as the floral scent that followed her like a predator.
Taking the stall at the end, she sat down, but not to go to the bathroom. Instead she flushed twice, a signal to mean she was alone and could talk.
"I do not know if my skills qualify me for this task, it is one however i will do everything in my power to make succeed. Your console will be greatly appreciated as well. Can gun training be worked in? I feel nervous without my Aura and a form of defense would satisfy that. Also i wish to stage something, either me being attacked or me attacking an obvious Mutant."
"I don't recall ever telling you this would be easy. I am confident in you, though, and I will help where I can... As for the gun training... You're in luck. Your target is a proud member of the NRA... I'm sure he will gladly show you how to shoot; Anything you can do to get close to him... Do it." He nodded shortly as she mentioned staging an attack.
"Brilliant... It shall be how you meet. As for your meeting place. St.Marie's 5th... Directions are listed. Study this packet, Samantha... It contains you."
"He's been looking at you from across the room. It appears the new girl has caught his fancy. The encounter outside has been set up; a visible mutant will try to mug you as he leaves the church... He's the type to fancy himself the hero, and he likes a woman he can feel like he's helping; Remember what you've read... We only get one chance at this... Our next meeting will be tonight at your new apartment; Let him walk you home, but do not kiss him, or let him inside just yet... I've taped a cell phone to the inside of your toilet's tank, it will already have directions to your home; it's within walking distance"
It was a lot of information, but he knew she was listening; she was the type that devoted her all to everything she did. Hopefully giving her more direction would pay off in the end.
"And Aura.... Good luck."
When she was gone, he lifted the trout he'd been wearing as a hat from his head, and tossed it into the toilet, flushing to clog it... Why? Because it was hilarious.
He had to get to their next meeting area... Part of him wondered if there was a small chance he'd have to worry about losing Aura to this man's charm... By all accounts he was incredibly charismatic, and quite the opposite, Aura was quite naive in the ways of love...
Naaah.

It seemed the plan was working well and with the set up in place, she knew this was going to be tough. She had to get attacked and not use her Aura, even though everything with in her told her to do so. She placated her mind and her heart with the knowledge that it was orders and it was a plan she had helped devise. Grabbing the cell phone she slipped it into her purse, glad Roach was here. She had not even noticed the attention the man had put on her, she had never been good at noticing such things.
With quietness she stood up and quietly made her way out of the bathroom. Nobody stopped or questioned her, to distracted in their own worlds. Exiting out the front as church let out and true to Roach's word, a Mutant who looked like a large Centaur, streaked into view. Aura knew the blow was coming before it hit, she forced herself to keep her Aura off, as the hooves of the centaur mutant struck her in the stomach, knocking her to the ground. Lifting her by the back of her dress he tossed her aside and she landed hard, she was force to use her aura for a second to keep her head from breaking open on the cement step's but she was confident she had been discrete enough.
As her mind struggled to reassert reality, she heard several bullets pass by and hoped the Mutnat would be all right. Outwardly she snarled and screamed word's that made her want to puke. "Mutant freak!" she said, as a man helped her to her feet. She recognized the man as her target.
They talked a bit, and he offered to take her to her house. She agreed and on the way they got to talking. Aura probed with questions she knew the answers to already as she had been trained. These sparked interest in the man. It took them less then ten minutes to get there and Aura knew it was perfect. Not in the greatest neighborhood, it would spawn concern by the man for her safety.
"No, i'll be ok, but thank you" she said declining his offer to come in and keep her company. Aura looked away a bit, which looked more like embarresment then her true feeling. Finally letting her go, he waved and said he would see her soon, leaving his card from the church with her.
"I trust you have a positively enchanting evening?"
The voice came from the darkest corner of the room as she entered. The shadowy figure of insect shape chuckled bemusedly. "From what I've heard, you've caught his interest... Now to hold it. Don't show up to church next week. He'll almost certainly stop by after the service... From there, you will tell him you didn't go because you are afraid. Yes... That's right. You are afraid of mutants."
He stood, and stepped out of the shadows, leaning in to peek out of the blinds. He'd stuck around to be sure she'd gotten inside alright; A very smitten thing to do. Good. He was walking off now, though, his hands in his pockets. "You'll tell him you don't know how you could ever hope to defend yourself against something so terrifying... I'm almost certain he will then feel obligated to teach you how to use a pistol. He will feel like he is protecting you, and that will bring him closer to you. Also, you will learn to shoot. Two birds, one stone."
He clacked his mandibles.
"Can you stand living here, and settling into your role until then? You will not be able to set up any altars or anything here; if you should feel the need to pray, you must be sure no one sees where you are going. It goes without saying, tell no one what we are doing here; even the ones you love."

"It went as planned" she said with a smile. She considered Roach's advice and was somewhat grateful for the idea. Aura's first instinct was still the direct approach and she found Roach's counsel quite helpful. She reminded herself her patience would be rewarded. It was not easy and she found herself hoping this was truly something she could do.
Combat was an easy and sensual dance. One learned about their opponent through their every move and their every word. As the dance continued the one who learned faster, the one who discovered the others weakness would usually win. Battle was peaceful and calming. This was nerve wracking and much harder.
Still it would also have a reward. Being able to use a gun with better accuracy would make them a viable weapon. She hoped roach was right. "I will find a fun way to kill the man when it is time. " She said with a gleeful look in her eye. SHe was already forming a plan, their were countless way's to kill a man. Their were far less that would make a coroner cry.
"That is fine, Alpha evolved us to be the dominant species on the earth. As a species evolves, the old dies off and the Evolved form takes it's place. Humans however can resist this natural cycle. The gods know all as they are the cycles that are our life's. Perhaps one day i will tell you the stories" she said her beliefs in her gods had become more expressed since much of her past had fallen into falsehood. "No one will know a word pf this. I ask only that you watch out for Allison. She has an incredible habit for being in the center of trouble" she said trusting Allison to understand.
