The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Serena had woken, covered in a cold sweat, wanting to scream again, and yet again, barely stopped herself. These nightmares were seriously beginning to get to her.
She was wearing shorts and a plain blue t-shirt. Her hair was looking as beautiful as normal, she combed her hair and straightened out before she left her dorm, because as of late, she kept encountering others. And it would be rather embarrassing to wander through and bump into someone while wearing lingerie and with bed hair... god she felt red just thinking about it.
She carried on her walk, through the dim lit hallways, after she had gotten something to drink she stayed away from the kitchen, she didn't want to intrude on Drew's baking as he would almost certainly be up at this hour.
She carried on walking, wondering who she would inevitably encounter this evening at this ungodly hour.

Two and a half days had passed from the last time Victoria had been saved by her dear friend Kait. Once again the hunger was back and causing her discomfort. Maybe this time Kait had been able to get some blood packs.
Her hopes were dashed when she found that Kait wasn’t in her room and no where to be found in the mansion. One last try back at her friend’s room gave the same results as earlier. No one was there.
Sitting against the wall in the hallway the little blonde clenched her stomach. Would she be able to make it out of the mansion if she had to? She dreaded the thought of feeding on someone else in the mansion. Only Kait was able to save her again she thought, but where was she? Victoria groaned as a surge of pain rushed through her.
Serena wandered through the halls, feeling calmer and calmer by the minute, the relaxing quietness of the deserted hallways, normally it was rather quiet at night, although this time it was even more unusually quiet.
She let her own thoughts wash over her as she moved. Recent events had made her think about her powers, the way she had been able to save that blood with Kat, had frankly been an amazing experience, she had made a new friend out of it too!
Although it was only in the corner of her mind, Serena was getting more and more inclined to helping people as the days went by, it made her feel as if she had a place in the world, and her powers were starting to come in handy with that, which had been completely unexpected.
Serena quietly turned the corner and saw a familiar little blonde girl, Victoria, who had helped Serena get settled at the mansion in the first place. She looked uncomfortable, perhaps she felt ill? Serena wondered what she was doing up so late.
She silently moved over to Victoria and placed a gentle hand on her shoulder "Hey, Victoria? Are you ok?" she asked in a concerned tone.
Just like always, the hunger had returned. It demanded the satisfaction of blood. The one and only thing that could quell Victoria’s inner demon, but where was Kait?
An unexpected voice startled the girl. It wasn’t the tone she was hoping to hear. This voice was a bit older and familiar.
Serena was approaching! What to do?!
Her friend’s concern disrupted any thoughts of how to get out of the situation. Now she had to reply back as Victoria was never rude to people she liked.
Clenching her center again and stifling another groan the young blonde shook her head in response to Serena’s question.
Serena's face darkened. She was worried her friend was feeling sick, but she looked as if she was VERY ill, in pain even.
She very carefully moved to closer to look at Victoria, nothing really appeared to be wrong, other than the groaning. Serena looked very concerned indeed.
Were pains or illness what kept a little girl like Victoria up so late at night? Because Serena decided, that in itself could not be healthy.
An unexpected thought crossed Serena's mind. When she used her power, it left her feeling drained and sometimes in downright pain. Victoria lived at the mansion, so she was a mutant, did hers possibly cause her pain or make her sick as Serena's did?
Serena dismissed the thought, she was reading too much into things.
The blonde haired teenager knelt down and brushed hair out of her face "Hey, tell me what's wrong, maybe I can help." Serena murmured in a sweet and gentle tone.

Victoria got nervous as her friend kneeled to get closer to her. She knew Serena was just checking on her, but Victoria was afraid of the unknown. What if she succumbed to the hunger and attacked Serena? She would be kicked out for sure! She had to keep the monster within her contained.
“My insides just act up sometimes.” Another groan and painful expression, but the little red-eyed girl fought back with her will. Feeling this way was never something to look forward to and while she liked Serena a lot she hoped this wasn’t going to be a long conversation. The hunger wasn’t going to allow it.
Serena felt a wave of worry for the small girl. Her insides acting up? That certainly did not sound like healthy body behavior. Also, she was so young, it wasn't fair that she would have a burden like horrible insides at such young a age.
Serena gave a reassuring smile. "Does this happen often? Do you know why it's happening, maybe I can find you some medication or something to help you feel better."
Serena was worried for the little one, she was a very nice girl and if she had a stomach bug or something, after she had helped Serena out on the first two evenings she had been here, and the way she had hugged her after she found out about Serena's brother dying, the least she could do was find her some medicine.

Oh she knew why it was happening. She was hungry, but she couldn’t just ask for a sandwich or bowl of cereal. Her hunger hurt people badly and even killed them. Best to keep things as simple as possible. “Umm…yeah it happens kind of a lot. Medicine doesn’t do anything though. It’s part of my mutation.”
Was that saying too much? Victoria closed in on herself more both from worried nervousness as well as from the pain.
So Serena's earlier thought had been correct, ish. Victoria's pain had been caused by her power. Serena grimaced.
She knew the feeling of a backlash for an ability she hadn't asked for. Both on the mind and on the body. "My mutation also has... sideffects on my body." Serena noted the way that Victoria hadn't quite explained it.
As if she was unsure whether or not she could trust Serena, and rightly so. Serena hadn't given her any reason to trust her yet. What if Serena was hurt and some body who she hardly knew and they asked her to explain her mutation to them so that they could help?
Serena would be incredibly suspicious. She probably wouldn't tell them. No, she definitely wouldn't tell them, she would be too scared of what might happen if they rejected her.
Serena bit her lip. She knew what she had to do. She took a shaky breath to steady herself. "Alright so... I figured, if someone was going to try and help me and it was because of my mutation, if I hardly knew them and had no reason to trust them, so I thought, why would you if I asked you. So here I am. Giving you a reason to trust me,"
Serena took a very quick breath before continuing her ramble. "Victoria, my mutation is... I guess you called call it Haemokinesis. As long as blood is outside of the body I can shape it, move it and change it's form... As far as I can tell. If I use it, it tires my out, if I overuse it, I seriously hurt myself,"
Serena continued "Oh, and I also think that like... Well, I know that... my blood seems to replenish a lot faster than an average person, doctors always just thought it was a coincedence, that my cells had been dividing more rappidly that day, but I think it's 'Cause I am a mutant.
Serena had just confessed her mutation to a little girl. Her mutation frightened her and she was terrified of rejection. "So what I'm saying is that you can trust me because I understand." She then quickly added, her voice quiet, "Please don't freak out."

As Serena spoke, and Victoria listened, the little blonde could hear the nervousness in the taller girl’s voice. She began talking about her own mutation. It looked as if it made her very uncomfortable, and yet she was doing it for Victoria.
The little red-eyed girl lifted her head more as she listened to Serena’s description of what she could do. She found it strange to find another person with a special ability that revolved around blood. Kait could heal herself and replenish her blood and now Serena could control blood as well as replenish her own quickly.
Victoria spoke softly as she was also nervous. While Serena’s ability could probably gross or freak people out she wasn’t a vampire. Something Victoria grew up fearing her whole life. Plus the movies didn’t help either. People were terrified of things like vampires and such. At least Victoria thought so.
“I…my stomach…” A deep heavy breath and wide open full red eyes looking at Serena. “I feed on blood. Please don’t freak out.” Lips tucked in and teeth holding them tightly.
Serena felt an unbelievable wave of relief as Victoria did not reject her, she accepted her and then explained her own mutation.
Serena's eyes widened. That certainly explained her pains, and her eye colour also made more sense. The little girl was a Vampire, but not some monster that seduced others, a little girl who was forced to drink the blood of others because of her genes.
It wasn't fair. Why should humans get to live normal, happy lives, and this little girl had to drink others blood.
Serena gently squeezed the little girls arm. "That is why you feel sick, because you haven't fed. I'm so sorry I had no idea.
She felt so bad for the young girl. What would happen if she carried on without feeding? She would probably get worse! Serena couldn't let that happen.
She knew what she had to do. "Victoria. Feed on me, that way you won't need to accidently hurt anyone by taking too much, also, I'm probably safer to drink from than a random person."

“It’s ok Serena. You didn’t know. In fact…practically no one knows. Can you keep it a secret? Please?” Victoria’s plea was very heartfelt as she was totally serious. While she found a measure of comfort in knowing she could trust Kait she hoped the same trust could be gained from Serena.
Then a very similarly uncomfortable awkwardness filled the area. It was the same feeling Victoria got when Kait had offered herself to be fed from. Oddly enough, Serena’s words almost sounded like Kait’s.
Victoria seemed conflicted, but Serena was sure she was making the right decision. She was nearly 18, so she could certainly make her own decisions. She was also sure because of the nature of her mutation that she would be safer than a normal person.
"Exactly, I am your friend, you won't need to hurt anyone else and my blood will come back faster. Besides, we're both bound by powers of blood, that's gotta mean something, right?" Serena's sky blue eyes sparkled.

Serena’s reply was also eerily similar to Kait’s own. Victoria’s eyes filled with tears, but these were tears of joy mixed with the ones from pain. She was amazed at how many people were willing to be helpful in whatever ways they could. The people in the mansion were truly a treasure and the little blonde was very happy to be there.
“I’m not sure where we can go. I’d rather not do it where anyone can see, and it can be very messy.” The little vampire now wondered if her reply would again be like Kait’s or if a different solution would be suggested.
Serena smiled to her. "Well we can't use my dorm, I have a roommate named Liz, and a nosey parrot of hers. And don't worry about the mess little one, I can deal with that."
The blonde teenager gave the little vampire a warm smile and wrapped her arms around her. Squeezing her with a gentle hug. "Honestly, don't worry about it, if you mean mess as in blood, I can pull it out of clothing or anything and get rid of it or even give it directly to you with my power."
Serena felt a warm feeling, she could help Victoria with her power so that she wouldn't have to hurt anyone, and Victoria hadn't rejected her because of her power.
