The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Kiva 'Drake' Augillard, a visible mutant with a dragon-like appearance, works as a tattoo artist and spends most of her free time painting, sketching, working out at a boxing gym, and riding her motorcycle. She has both a strong independent streak and protective instinct, loves mythology, and has an adorable black cat for a pet.
And she needs her world shook up a little via interacting with people, so I figured I'd post this up to see if anyone's interested in plotting. She's not one to actively seek out new people to meet, but she's very friendly to folks who aren't instantly afraid of or hostile toward her, regardless of whether they're mutant or not (and she will be very tempted to ask other visible mutants if they'll let her paint their portrait).
So yeah. Open to pretty much anything in the way of ideas.
She honestly might be a good companion for my character Emerald, who needs friends and tends to push people away in general due to her sometimes hostile behavior.
It seems that they have a lot of similarities in their personalities. Both highly independent, have protective instincts (Em's borderlines to obsessive due to her Alpha mentality),ride motorcycle and are visible Mutants. Emerald being visible wolf mutant, able to turn into her wolf form at any time.

I need to get Skydancer back to being more involved so I volunteer for a thread. She's got an independent streak of her own and only recently come back into the city. She's slightly on the good side of neutral and a visible mutant in her own right.
In fact, I'd even be open for a thread between both Drake and Emerald, if both of you would be open to that idea. I don't believe Skydancer has yet met Emerald but I think she'd find a lot to respect in her.

Taking a look at Emerald's profile...Yeah, there's definitely potential there.
There are some similarities, yes, but while's Kiva's strong and tough, Emerald is a whole other level, and she'd would probably sense that immediately, if only by catching a glimpse of Emerald's scars. Could certainly see Kiva liking her, and I know Kiva would respect her (and would be very likely to attempt to sketch her in wolf form upon learning of its existence if she thought Emerald was at all receptive to the idea).
And Skydancer...She'd like Skydancer. She's only a year or so older than Drake's little sister, and young adults around that age do tend to endear themselves to her quickly. And she'd probably find the girl's powers pretty amazing.
I'm not opposed to the idea of her meeting both at the same time if we can find a set-up for it. I can find an excuse for Kiva to be most places around the city, since sometimes she just likes to take a walk or a ride around.

Sounds like a plan. Skydancer can be pretty much anywhere in the city relatively easily and being visible mutants makes it easy for everyone to at least be able to spot one another in a crowd.

Okay, so we've got three visible mutants, one of which has only just gotten back into town, another one of which is an outright vigilante, and tensions in the city are rapidly rising. I've figured that Kiva would get dragged into something due to her appearance at some point, so...
Maybe our set-up could involve one character getting the attention of some anti-mutant thugs (or two, or all three, depending on if we want them to encounter one another shortly before or during) and a short brawl breaking out? It'd certainly be an effective way for each of them to quickly see what the others are capable of.
That'll work, that way they get to see what the other is capable of to a certain extent. Besides, Emerald would be more than willing to stand up for someone getting bullied and just beat the crap out of someone for doing that. I can have Emerald stumble upon whoever is getting harassed because people may or may not tend to stay away from Em sometimes.
Works for me as well. Skydancer isn't exactly a vigilante at this point, but she may be slowly moving in that general direction. At the very least, she hates seeing those less capable at defending themselves than she get abused and would jump in to defend such an individual. For that matter, she'd be equally willing to defend against humans who particular spiteful mutants were abusing.

Kiva can certainly hold her own in a fight, but if someone's going to try to beat up a mutant who looks like her they're going to try to outnumber her...So, maybe Kiva's out in the evening and some guys decide to 'put the freak in her place' and the sound of the ruckus draws in the others? A pissed-off dragon makes a lot of noise.
