The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

It had been a rough day for Aura, it was rare someone escaped her. It was even rarer that person was human. She had lost track of her target hour's earlier and as such had taken to tracking down other homeless people she had seen him with. So far she been unsuccessful as pretty sure 1 of the four people really did not know where the man was. SHe had found a second and had been forced to chase after him, the man wisely keeping his distance from her.
Aura saw the man running from her, he was quick and he knew the alleyways as well as Aura did. Aura manged to trip him just before he would have reached the open side walk. Aura was on him as soon as he hit the ground, one hand at his neck, her body surrounded in her well known pink Aura. "Tell me where he is, and you can go on living" she offered him. He denied knowing anything and twenty minutes later he still denied knowing anything, despite Aura's violent means of persuasion.
Convinced the man knew nothing, Aura none the less had to kill him. She could not have her target be warned. "I believe you but a witness is unacceptable" she said and quickly around her left hand an axe took formed which she then raised prepared to ensure the man never spoke to anyone. SHe took a glance around to check if anyone else had decided to take notice of the scene she was now vaguely aware this alley was actually in a somewhat upscale area, or near one, she was not entirely sure.
It had been three weeks since the winged shifter had last seen Tommy “Green” Thimble and it had been in Carrick’s opinion far too long. Tommy was one of those older homeless people that just understood Carrick and had developed oddly enough some sort of friendship. Every now and then Carrick would give Tommy some money for food or some sort of drink (usually alcoholic) only because he wanted to.
When Carrick first sprouted his wings he was often looked at an outcast until he learned to embrace the mutant he was during this time there were only a select few people who didn’t judge him and most of them were performers, either on the streets or under the big top but ever since Carrick first joined the circus it seemed people who lived on the street thought of him more than a blessing than a burden. One of those people happened to be Tommy.
Carrick didn’t know much about Tommy only that the homeless guy stood up for Carrick a few times when a few other homeless people tried to nab some money he was making on the side either from hustling people with card games or pick pocketing either way they tried to get physical which never happened luckily for Carrick all because of Tommy stepping in and threatening to ‘go sick house on their a$$es’. A battle cry Carrick always found hilarious just one of the reasons Carrick was fond of the grizzled man.
After an hour of tracking Tommy down Carrick finally managed to spot what looked like him in an alleyway. Sure Tommy seemed to not always be there but Carrick had grown fond of Tommy and his personality quirks over time and it was now the reason he was looking for him. ”Ohi Tommy!” Carrick called out from the skies positive that he couldn’t be heard even though he was quickly descending towards Tommy.
The closer Carrick got however the more it seemed like Tommy was in trouble and when a friend of Carrick’s is in trouble usually that meant trouble for Carrick as well. Carrick picked up speed and there was a woman in front of him now wielding something… pink? An Axe?!?! Carrick’s heart leapt as he closed his wings and speed till he was close enough to snap open his wings and slow his body kicking up whatever grit and grime was in the alleyway. Flapping once Carrick tried to get the woman’s attention. ”The Hell you think your doing to Tommy!” Carrick roared as loudly as he could making sure to get the attention of anyone passing by.
Aura looked up at the voice letting out a string of Japanese swear word's as she realized how absorbed she had been in the moment. He was obviously upset with her, likely caring for the human trash beneath her foot. Aura eyes looked over him curiously, no sign of worry appearing upon her face. The wing's were gorgeous and an obvious sign of his superior genetics. Still He seemed a fool who had no idea what he was in for.
"Bright idea, Birdie. I was killing a witness if you must know. You do realize as well the more attention you atract to this situation the worse His chances are. Their are things much much worse then death....." she said though she straightened up taking most of her attention from the human. They were harmless and if he did try to move aura knew of many ways to kills hum or make him suffer.
"I have no quarrel with you Birdie, pretend you saw nothing, walk away, and i won't hurt you, get in my way however and i may be forced to hurt you" she said. When she ahd forst come to the city, she would have killed the man at her feet and fought the Mutant simply for fun. Now she took notice of the area they were in, Police might actually respond here. "Your wing's are lovely by the way" she added as an after thought.
"The Animal dies anyway, the only question is what happens between us" she said, even as she lowered her arm and the aura axe, seemed to melt like water into the pink aura surrounding her. The blade reappeared from her foot, stopping at the man's chin.
"I am Aura, and to be honest i would love nothing more then to kill this man and fight you, but i have a stray human im trying to find. If you incist however...." she said with an excited look on her face. Aura loved the dance of combat. Few could even understand the beauity that came with it.
