The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Hey, I understand," he said softly, thinking of more ways to make this easier to relate to her. "You know I'd never steer you wrong, right? When you're in my hands, you're safe, right?" He finished his own sandwich, taking her empty plate and looking at her and smiling before taking them to the kitchen sink and washing them.
"No one's really good at jumping off a building," he replied as he made his way back to the bed, sitting to face her. "It's one of those things that don't take skill, really...you just have to...do it." He shrugged lightly, brushing his hair out of his face. "I'm not gonna push you off. It's something you're going to have to do on your own, but I'm helping as much as I known how."
Tses slowly gave a little smile, and ran her hand across her arm. She looked down at her skin, and looked at the pale epidermis that had been so deprived of sunlight. Compared to her shoulders and her face, most of her skin was drained of color, and she felt uncomfortable to see it. The little scars ranged from raised lines where the skin pulled together and healed unevenly, or became little indents in her skin where skin was torn away but never quite healed to the proper height. She felt like a patchwork doll sometimes, all stitched together in a ugly little mess. But Ty didn't see her that way. He seemed to see something else.
She raised her eyes and looked at him again, and tried to battle with her fears by thinking about happier things. They had a great time on Christmas, and even if New Years had been a bust, there would be other holidays and dates and somehow maybe they could be normal. Well, as normal as the two thieves could be. Colt was trying to reform them, make them decent, although she didn't know how long she could resist picking a pocket.
She adjusted and set her head on Ty's shoulder, closing her eyes with a sigh. "Jacob seemed to think he could change us. Help us stop stealing and stuff like that... maybe that's the start of being normal. I don't know. He seems to think there is hope for us." She said quietly, and let her hand slip into his, her fingers curling loosely around his own. "Who knows... maybe we'll survive a date without me blowing anything up." She was doing fairly well today. Nothing was damaged yet, at least.
Ty smiled as she settled her head onto his shoulder, and he felt her hand curl around his. "Yeah, he did. Though honestly I'm not too sure I wanna be normal to that extent. I mean...Christmas, we broke into the zoo, and stole that food. Last night we went for a joyride in a stolen car. We met because of stealing. That's part of who we are, and...well, you gotta admit it's a trip," he explained, running his bare left hand through her hair.
"I will agree on one thing: there's hope for us. Maybe one day we'll get to a point where we can go out and have our fun, then come home and be all sweet. But until then, I'm going to do what you said. Take it one step at a time, and just enjoy the chase." He chuckled slightly.
"True, but does blowing up cop cars and coffee cups count? Because I gotta tell ya, that was pretty badass." He winked at her, kissing the top of her head.
Tses nodded and sighed slightly, relaxing against him. She felt better as they talked, and her hands were loosing some of their trembling. It was mid-day, but she still felt pretty exhausted. It was like a New Moon with her connection to her powers momentarily severed. She felt disconnected from her strength, a fragile shell of who she normally was. "I don't really know if it's possible either... I've been stealing my whole life, literally. Even when I had a house I had to sneak into the kitchen to get us food because.... I just don't know how to earn money and just buy things."
When he mentioned how they met, Tses felt a little smile curl across her mouth, and she chuckled slightly. "I think stealing was only part of how we met. The other important element was that tiny yapper dog who was trying to make a meal out of your pant leg. I know you're not too fond of dogs now, but he's the one who chased you my direction." She remarked, and poked him in the side slightly.
"And I only really 'blew up' the coffee cup. The cop cars I just sort of...deterred from their pursuit using rather violent means...." She tried not to be delighted by that sentence. It was about as sophisticated as she could ever talk, and the only sour point was she wouldn't have had a clue what it looked like written out. Sometimes, it was hard having the vocabulary of an adult, and the reading level of a pre-schooler.
Next door, the sound of cats meowing drifted through the walls in the silence, before Ty spoke again and it drowned it out. Normal... maybe they could be their own variety of normal. There was hope for that, wasn't there? Although, she couldn't imagine what it would feel like. She wasn't sure whether she'd feel like a caged bird, or just like she finally had someplace to call home. Home.
"You know, this place just doesn't feel the same without you around. You make it feel like a house and not just a roof to keep the snow off me..." She said quietly.

Ty nodded, rubbing her back to help comfort her as she spoke. Sure they had their differences, and their issues, but they weren't too different. Just two different pieces of the same puzzle, and they fit. Ty chuckled at her bringing the dog up again, but he wasn't exactly expecting the poke on the side.
Okay so apparently Ty's side was very ticklish, as the slight poke caused him not only to jump, but to let out a little squeal. Blushing deep red, he looked away. "True...I mean, I still like dogs...just not chihuahuas. Or poodles," The man gave a slight shrug.
"And I don't care what you call it, wrecking a cop car like that is badass." Settling into her, he relaxed again as she told him how things felt with him there. "Awwww....well, I'm flattered. When I'm at Sanctuary, I mean...sure it's a great place to live, and there are lots of other mutants, but...I feel more at home here. With you."
Tses was not good with serious conversations. They were sweet and nice and all of that, but when they happened, sometimes she just wanted to get away from the cuteness. It made her nervous and uncertain and generally mixed up. It was usually why she blew up after cute moments. In a way, she was just trying to reaffirm the cuteness didn't make her weak. Because that was what scared her about them. She didn't want to feel like she needed people. She wanted to feel independent and able to take care of herself. Yet at the same time, she like how it made her feel to be cared about. And that just made things more confusing.
As the conversation continued, Tses felt the little flickers of that tension starting to build, but she didn't show it on the outside. She laughed slightly as Ty jumped and squealed at the poke, but didn't say anything... at least not yet. With a little smile, she listened to his last comment about feeling at home here with her, and her mouth curled into a little smirk. "Well I'm glad you feel at home in this little decorationless four walled tomb. At least I don't have any dogs."[/color] She poked him again, waited for him to flinch away again with a evil glint in her eye. "What? You're not ticklish, are you?" She said slowly grinning.

"I like dogs, just not chihuahuas or poodles," he repeated, then he smirked. "Besides, what do I need decorations for? I've got your pretty face to look at~" he nudged her playfully, then blushed again as she mentioned ticklish. And her look...
That was one of the scariest looks he'd ever seen. She was up to something, and it was likely going to be at his expense. "Me? Ticklish? What...eh....what makes you say that?" he asked, shying away from her just a little.
Tses slowly adjusted how she was sitting so the comforter was behind her and her bare legs were curled under her. The skin on her legs was about as pale as the skin on her arms, but the scars created a little color where some of the red burns from years back still remained. But for once, she wasn't worried about how she looked or was dressed. She just scooted closer, grinning mischievously.
"I don't know.... You sure seem ticklish to me..." She smirked, and poked him in the side once more. "If you're not ticklish, you wouldn't mind me doing that, right?" She poked him again, then without warning tackled him tackled him backwards and started tickling his side. It was one of her rare moments where her personality fled, and traces of the younger Tses returned. This was the Tses who would have tickled her little sister playfully after dinner, or played with her during the day. The fear vanished for just a moment, and she was actually having .... fun.

Ty blinked, but he had little time to react or argue because before he could even process what was happening, he was flat on his back on the bed, with Tses relentlessly tickling his sides. The initial squeal turned into an all out cackle as he flailed and twisted, trying to cover his sides but to no avail.
Tears brimmed his eyes as he squirmed, but he didn't care. No, he usually didn't like being tickled, but Tses was an exception, though he never pinned her for the type to do this. He had to admit, despite the soreness developing in his gut from all the laughing, it was...nice.
"Okay okay!" he gasped between giggling. "You win! I'm ticklish!"
Victorious, Tses grinned down at Ty, her cheeks rosy and her hair falling across her face. It wasn't even held up in it's customary pigtails anymore, and reached down around her shoulders in a slightly tangled mess. But her smile was genuine, which was about as rare as her random tickle attack for him, and then as he surrendered, she chuckled. "good decision." She remarked, and then grabbed the comforter and flopped it over him. Once he was properly buried, she sat on his stomach, and pulled the covers back, poking him in the forehead.
"I win." She declared with one of her normal snarky smiles, and stuck her tongue out at him. "Go on, admit it!"

Ty chuckled, then found himself buried under the covers, with a weight he could only assume was her on his stomach. When she pulled the covers back and poked him on the head, he stuck his tongue out back at her. "Nyeh." His eyes twinkled as he fidgeted under the covers slightly, working to free his arm and feel around with his left hand. Finally, his hand grasped the pillow he was searching for.
"Yep, you win." Playfully, he whapped her with the pillow, then gave her a goofy grin. "So I suppose you'll want some sort of prize or something now?" he teased. "Maybe a medal or a pat on the back?" His goofy grin stayed plastered on his face.
Tses was caught off guard by the pillow, and it knocked her backwards off his stomach back onto the bed with a 'omph!' Then she rolled over and flicked him on the nose. "Nah, don't need a prize, just need the victory of knowing how awesome I am." She smirked at him. But that mischievous twinkle was still there.
"Oh, wait, I think something was in that pillow you hit me with... Wait, let's see..." Slowly, she held up the pillow, and pretended to look in the pillow case. Pretending to see something, she drew her hand out so he could see the little golden orb of energy in her hand. "There it is! Opps....dropped it again. Here, you find it!" The orb of energy went into the pillow, then she dropped it on him and scrambled off the bed. Seconds later, there was and explosion of feathers, and she looked up from the floor where she was hiding as they started to rain down around her.
"Huh, guess you didn't find it fast enough. What a bummer!" She remarked in a fake innocent voice.

Ty chuckled, grinning at his achievement, wrinkling his nose when she flicked it. "Okay you are awesome," he replied, then she took the pillow and...did she just...Oh crap.
Scrambling to get off the bed, the orb exploded, and a startled Ty fell backwards off of the bed. The comforter Tses had buried him in broke his fall, but it didn't stop feathers from raining down on him. When he climbed back on the bed, he had a goofy look on his face and white feathers in his hair.
He huffed out a breath of air, sending feathers flying from his mouth. "Okay, you got me." He climbed back on the bed, tickled pink.
Tses pulled herself back onto the bed, after clearing a little space for herself, brushing the feathers away. The white fuzzy down looked like snow as it settled nearly as far as the kitchen, her house washed in white. She smiled at him, and then looked around her house some more, shaking her head from side to side. "Ok, in hindsight, this may take a while to clean up." She remarked, and pushed her hair from her face. "And that MAY have been my only pillow. I guess that's what happens when you blow things up first, and ask questions later." She laughed. Right then, she didn't care. She was just grateful the fear was gone for the moment. That was one of the good things about this whole experience. Being so stress allowed to her to actually enjoy the moment for now.
Maybe this was what Ty was talking about. Just... letting things happen. Maybe they could be a little normal. Well.... as normal as you could be when you were using your mutant powers to blow up random household items...
Most boyfriends just worried they would forget their anniversary.
"Just be glad it was only a pillow. I can only imagine what a cake would look like with a few explosive candles added in..." She said, then grinned at him. "When's your birthday anyway? That would be a hilarious cake!"

Ty smiled, brushing the feathers from his hair. "True, but we'll worry about that later. That was actually pretty cool. Even if you did scare the flying **** out of me. Though I can use a cushion off of the couch, and you can use me for a pillow?" He stuck his tongue out, sliding closer to her.
Taking a handfull of feathers, he scooped them into a ball, throwing it at her.
"Heh! That would be funny." He blinked. "My birthday? April 21st. Though I haven't celebrated it in four years really. It's become just another day, though I usually try to steal more than I usually do and treat myself." He shrugged lightly. It wasn't really a big deal by now.
