The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

How many people would be interested in a Mutant Dodgeball thread? I've done a thread like that before on another X-Men board and it was a lot of fun. When we did it on the other board we used the Danger Room to host the game.
I was thinking that to get the most people involved here on MRO we could play the game using the whole of Central Park as the playing field which would allow for the greatest involvement by everyone.
In my opinion, Central Park is too big, too wide for a proper match. If you are looking for some funny chaos, it is ok but if you want a somewhat normal match (as normal as it can be with mutants using their powers) you should aim for somewhere more limited in size like the mansion grounds. The mansion was used before for some open events despite factions as the last Valentine auction, so it can happen again.
It can be a very fun massive thread, I will glad to throw Guglin into the mess.
Could anyone that was interested in this post their names and everything here so I can get an idea of how many people might want to take part? If we get enough people/chars. maybe we could do it like a tournament instead of one big game.
I'm in, if and only if this doesn't happen immediately. I'm currently booked and having trouble keeping up during the week, though most of the time I manage to get up to date during the weekend.
Then again, big threads with many players usually move slow (from a single player's perspective) and allow people to skip their turns if necessary. I think the mansion is the best place for it, though that would mostly restrict you to mansionites unless it was some sort of 'open' event and Sanctuary folks were welcome.
I think the Mansion grounds make the most sense, in light of what Celeste has said. I also envision this as an open event that anyone, Order or otherwise, can attend.
The Order could even use it as an excuse to do some snooping, if they were so inclined.
Is this something open just to Mansionites? Or will there be some advertising going on for the game outside the Mansion? If the latter, I'd love to get Skydancer involved.
This will be open to anyone that wants to play. Advertising and the like will occur, and you can simply assume your chars' saw a flier or some such, I don't see much of a point in RPing the flier distribution... seems like that would be boring.
Unless people want to RP the flier distribution then, of course, we can.
