The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Vicente was exhausted. Normally he didn’t work out in his bedroom because he would rather be outside, in the fresh air, but it seemed as if it would be a tad bit too cold, even for him. Vicente had no problem stepping out into the cold and working out since the process of doing such tended to warm him up pretty quickly. But it was just too cold this morning and, since he really only cared to work out in the mornings, he figured it was best to just get his work out over with as soon as he got out of bed. And he did.
Sit-ups, push-ups, jump-rope, Vicente got as much done with as small a space he had as he could. The time ticked away and of course he had to peel away layers of clothing that were becoming overly saturated with sweat. His tank top discarded, Vicente was bare-chested to the warmth in his room, leaving on only his sneakers and a pair of deep, black workout sweats. He counted in his head with every swing of the rope he jumped over and ever push away from the ground.
Before long, at least a good hour and a half had passed since he awoke and started his circuit training. His muscular body had a fine sheen thanks to the amount he sweated but every square inch of him looked toned and kept up. He may not have known who he was, but he was going to make damn sure that his body was in shape. That was at least one thing he had control over.
With a sigh, Vicente moved onto his feet from a long series of crunches and rolled his neck to the side. He was beginning to get thirsty. Grabbing his water bottle from the side table, he arched a brow as he lifted it up and immediately noticed that was lacking any water at all. Of course he forgot to refill it before he started today.
“Moron,” he whispered to himself.
Well, a quick trip to the kitchen was in order. Still breathing a little heavily from his regime, Vicente stepped to his door and quietly pulled it open. Rebecca had returned to her room across the hall a few days ago after missing for a week. Apparently she had gone though some trauma and was easily startled so he made it his mission to by as quiet as he could.
Quietly he opened his door, tip-toed out, and started to close it behind him. As he did though, he noticed something red and frilly on the ground. Arching a brow, he picked the cloth up off the carpet and turned it over in his hands.
“Oh,” he muttered in surprise. It was a pair of underwear. Huh…one of the girls must have dropped it while they were carrying their laundry or something…

Gemma pushed Becca's door open quietly as she left her room. She came to check on her in the morning - she had been doing that regularly since she returned to the Mansion. It was her responsibility to make sure the girl had everything she needed - and also to make sure she was in her bed in the morning, and not gone, not again. Might have sounded paranoid, but Gemma was a mother, and she knew when someone needed some extra looking after. When she walked in, she found Becca still asleep. She made sure everything in the room was in order, left a tray of breakfast on the table, and then walked quietly back to the door. She did not notice the guy until she had pulled the door closed behind herself.
He did not look familiar. At all. What he did look, however, was sweaty, out of breath, shirtless, and... Gemma's hawk-eyes fell to the piece of underwear in the guy's hand, and they narrowed into an angry slit. He looked surprised to see her, which only made sense since they had not met before. And for the queen of the Mansion, that was unacceptable.
One hand reaching out without further ceremony, Gemma grabbed the young man by the ear and started dragging him down the hallway, away from Becca's door. There was no need to disturb sleeping girls with yelling. And possibly screaming.
It was rare that Vicente had to look up when he was face-to-face with someone. He was fairly tall, muscular, and tended to dwarf the majority of people that he spoke with. But, standing there outside of the room and inspecting the red panties he found for a name, or something so that he could find out their owner, he was shocked when another figured appeared in front of him. He hadn’t even heard the door across from him open until he noticed the figure there.
And he had to look up. Not by much, but just enough to make it a little noticeable. He peered up into the taller, dark-skinned woman’s eyes and found her narrowing gaze on him. Honestly, he didn’t know what it was, but something inside of him shriveled up and he realized that there was some form of anger or…something aimed directly towards him.
But that was impossible, right? He hadn’t don’t anything wrong to his knowledge. Maybe it was just his imagination.
His lips twisted into a smile of greeting as he was about to say “Good Morning” and ask what she was doing in his friend’s room.
Instead all that came out was an “Ow! What’re you—“ as he felt his ear suddenly being grabbed. A hard tug soon followed and before he knew it, the muscular teenager was wincing as he was being dragged away from the safety of his room.
“Ow! Ow! Lady, are you crazy?!” he growled, not really daring to fight back too hard. She maybe staff and he didn’t want to get in further trouble by assaulting one of them. “OW! Watch the ear!”

>>“Ow! What’re you— Ow! Ow! Lady, are you crazy?! OW! Watch the ear!”
Gemma did not answer the cries and complaints. She dragged the boy down the hall and down the stairs, to her office, where she held his ear while she unlocked the door and pulled him inside, only letting go when the door was closed. Walking around her desk she turned the computer on.
"Name."
She was going to find out first if he even had a reason to be in the building.
Okay this was really getting old now! Vicente tried to reason with the insane woman but she was not listening to him, or even acknowledging his cries! If it were not for the fact that his ear was close to falling off, he would have assumed that she had just forgotten all about him and they just happened to be going in the same direction. But that was obviously not the case. She was not letting go of his ear and, worse yet, she had a destination in mind!
What the hell was going on?!
Through the halls, down the stairs, and finally tossed into an office, Vicente winced and rubbed his ear when it was finally relinquished! God, it was like on fire! Whoever this woman was, she certainly had a knack for attacking painful parts of the body.
“Damn lady, almost took it off,” he moaned as he rubbed his ear further.
>> "Name."
He blinked.
“What?” he rubbed his now sore neck from being hunched over due to the dragging. That was a long about way just to get someone’s name! “Vicente,” he finally answered.

"Vicente" Gemma nodded and typed, pulling up information. It was kind of incomplete but it was there. Someone allowed yet another rebellious young man into the building without talking to her. Then again, most of the X-men were rebellious young men and women, so it was not all that surprising.
""So, Vicente." she looked up, resting her chin on her knuckles "Would you like to entertain me with a story explaining how you came to be where I found you, wearing that" she nodded at the pants, his only piece of decent clothing "and holding that" a nod at the underwear "this early in the morning?..."
Things were usually exactly what they looked like. Still, she wanted to see if he was man enough to admit it.
He nodded and watched her curiously. Just what was her problem? She seemed to be staring at her computer intently after typing in a few keys. He guessed that she had typed in his name and checking to see if he was even in the system as a listed student. Didn’t the staff keep records of all this and check with one another? That didn’t seem to make any sense that she wouldn’t know of him. Surely she must have heard of the one boy living in the girl’s dorms…
>> "So, Vicente…Would you like to entertain me with a story explaining how you came to be where I found you, wearing that…and holding that…this early in the morning?..."
…or apparently not.
Suddenly the weight of the situation began to crush his shoulders. He looked down at his attire and saw that he was only half-dressed and then glanced over to the red panties that he had found on the ground. Adding those two images together, sprinkle in a mix of teenage hormones and the early morning hours and—
“Oh…no…” he started to lower his head. The connections having been made, he suddenly saw the picture that the woman painted for him. Half-dressed man stepping out of the girl’s dorms would only result in certain conclusions, right? “Um, I can explain,” he said as he gestured with his hands, inadvertently flailing the red panties about. Catching them out of the corner of his eye, he tossed the onto her desk, trying to get rid of the evidence on him. “Honest to goodness, I found those outside my door,” he said, nodding to the panties. “And…I…just happen to live in that room you pulled me away from. T-They said the boys dorms were full and the few that were empty were under renovation, I swear.”
What was it about her eyes that made her so damn scary?!

>>“Oh…no... Um, I can explain."
It seemed to finally dawn on him that she had a reason for being suspicious. She watched him as he looked down at himself and then went pale. The panties landed on her desk. They did not look much like underwear, and she couldn't help but make a mental note to find out who they belonged to and make sure they were... responsible. (Last thing a mutant school needs is teen pregnancy)
>>"Honest to goodness, I found those outside my door. And…I…just happen to live in that room you pulled me away from. T-They said the boys dorms were full and the few that were empty were under renovation, I swear.”
"Uh-huh." she nodded, keeping up the pokerface while she checked the records on the computer. "You do realize what this looks like, right? What have you been doing this early in the morning?..."
Because she oculd not just say 'you look like you just had a tumble with someone' to a student. That would be unethical.
>> "Uh-huh…You do realize what this looks like, right? What have you been doing this early in the morning?..."
God, he was completely dead! But…why? He really didn’t do anything wrong. SHE[/b] was the one who had assaulted him. She didn’t even give him a chance to explain! Just snatched him by his ear and dragged him away and down to her office. Wasn’t that against the rules or something?
But one look at the woman and he could instantly tell that she was not the type of woman to trifle with. Even if he may have had a guilty conscience of making out with a girl or two in his room, he never did anything more than that in the mansion. That just wouldn’t be right.
Outside of it was another story, but it was a story that didn’t include any of the female mutants here! Honest!
Ahem.
He again felt himself shrivel under the gaze. How tall was he now? Four, maybe three, inches tall now? God if only she would stop staring at him.
“I…I can only imagine what it must look like,” he said a little flusteredly. “But, um, truth is I was just working out. I usually go outside to work out but it was too cold and I decided to stay in the room. I was only leaving to grab some water. I swear.”

Gemma could tell when someone was lying to her. Thiy guy was way too confused to lie. She let out a small sigh - the worst did not happen, after all. Checking the records she made sure he was telling the truth.
"A boy in the girls' dorm, huh." she muttered "We'll need to change that. Also, for future reference, if you would like to exercise use the Danger Room please. You don't have authorization to activate it, but it's better for everyone if you don't train in your room."
Especially better for Becca across the hall.
"I'll return these to their owner" she picked up the panties and placed them in the lost and found box "Don't get any ideas. If I see you sneaking out of any room but your own we'll have another talk."
Vicente felt like he was being grilled. Not with just words, but with eyes. The woman was eyeballing him and giving him not the least bit a leeway in order to lie, falsify, or fib. She acted like this was something that she had done a million times before (and maybe she did) and absolutely nothing was going to get past her. Next to her, Vicente felt absolutely small. He didn’t know if she was a mutant, or if she even had powers like this, but it was like she sapped all the willfulness out of him. Like being in the presence of a real mother.
He looked a little forlorn at that thought. Was his own mother even still alive? Vicente had no idea. He had no idea about anything! Maybe that was why he didn’t take kindly to being dragged around by the ear with no idea where he was going. He had enough mysterious going on.
>> "A boy in the girls' dorm, huh…We'll need to change that. Also, for future reference, if you would like to exercise use the Danger Room please. You don't have authorization to activate it, but it's better for everyone if you don't train in your room."
Danger Room? He didn’t even know what that was! But…if it was for training purposes, maybe he would have to make use of them.
>> "I'll return these to their owner"
“Um…thanks,” he mumbled. He thought for a minute and then just looked up. “Um, if you don’t mind me asking, how is Becca? She and I are, kinda, friends but I didn’t want to crowd her. Is she going to be okay?”

Gemma tilted her head. So he did not only live on the girls' side, he had already made friends. That was good, definitely good. Becca was an X-man and she had a good judgement of people. If she befriended this guy, he could not be that bad.
"She will be okay" she nodded, less stern this time "She needs to rest and deal with what happened, but she will be okay. She is strong."
She glanced at the computer screen again.
"There is some information missing here" she noted, looking back at him with an unsaid question. Did he not supply that information, or did he just... happen to forget?
>> "She will be okay…She needs to rest and deal with what happened, but she will be okay. She is strong."
A breath of relief. Vicente was just a tad bit worried for his friend. The simple fact was that he had no idea what happened to her. One day she is going about her business, living across the hall from him, the next she simply vanishes and people are wondering what happened. Even he was questioned by one of the staff members but he was just like the others in that he didn’t know anything about the young woman’s disappearance.
She was back now but rumors were starting to circulate that she had been a bit traumatized by her experience, though no one seemed to know exactly what happened. Some say she was sold into slavery, others that she was abducted by aliens, and even more where she was sent on some top secret mission by the X-Men into Hell itself to save a princess or something. Honestly, since they lived in a school, he was not surprised that the rumors were starting to get just a little grander and stranger with every retelling. Unfortunately it also made it harder to get the real story.
But he wouldn’t pry. Rebecca would tell him whenever she got around to feeling up to seeing him. For the time being, he would just keep his distance.
With that conversation over, Vicente turned to leave. Though he never got the woman’s name, something told him to not waste too much time around her. It was obvious that she would have no nonsense. It was best if he just learned to stay as far away from her as possible.
She had other ideas, though, when she addressed him again.
>> "There is some information missing here”
He lowered his head. He was wondering when she was going to get around to that. If she had access to the records, she would undoubtedly see that he was missing…well…everything except for a first name. His arms crossing over his chest, momentarily hiding all the tattoos there, he frowned a little as he turned back to her. It was not the best experience retelling the story but he would do so.
“Uh, truth be told, that’s not a mistake,” he mumbled, idly scratching the back of his head. “I just don’t remember…anything. There’s a name, Vicente, that I remember, but I’m not even sure if it’s mine. A student here, Andrea, found me in an alley and brought me here when she realized I was a mutant. But…other than that name, I don’t remember anything.”

A student here, Andrea, found me in an alley and brought me here when she realized I was a mutant. But…other than that name, I don’t remember anything.”
Gemma arched an eyebrow. They had a mutant teen with amnesia in the Mansion? What could possibly go wrong?...
"Is your mutation... um, telepathy related?" she inquired, looking at the data sheet again. Maybe if she knew more about what he was actually capable of, she would be able to help him. Or at least prevent him from causing harm by accident. Or on purpose.
"We have a healer in the infirmary. If you have amnesia from a head injury, he should be able to help you... at least put the pieces of the puzzle together."
The woman eyed him again. Vicente was quickly learning that this was a look he probably shouldn’t be receiving from her. Though he understood that she was staff and was only trying to look out for all the students there at the school, he had a feeling that she was just naturally suspicious of him. Which was a terrible first impression to make on anyone.
>> "Is your mutation... um, telepathy related?”.
Thankfully the question was more innocent than he thought! Quickly he shook his head.
“NoNoNo! Don’t worry, won’t be mindblasting people or anything,” he said with his own sigh of relief. He would have hated it if he accidentally harmed someone like that. “More, um, partial animal shifting?” It would probably be best to show her but he didn’t want to freak her with a sudden octopus arm! Instead he hoped that would be enough to quell her curiosity.
>> "We have a healer in the infirmary. If you have amnesia from a head injury, he should be able to help you... at least put the pieces of the puzzle together."
He nodded in response. He remembered that man because Andrea had to take Vicente to see him the moment he arrived at the mansion. He was a nice guy, much older, but definitely had something about his eyes that sparkled with mischief. Vicente assumed that was a good thing for the man to have. After all, being young at heart is supposed to be a plus, right?
“Y-Yeah, I met with him,” Vicente said with a nod. He shrugged his shoulders as well. “I had a few bumps and bruises from being attacked when I first woke up. He healed those but he said there was nothing done to my head. My brain is fine. Just…something he can’t explain.” Vicente sighed a bit at the thought. “Neither can I, I’m afraid.”
